PBA mum on what transpired in meeting with IATF at MalacañangAfter the news, I posted previously, the meeting was able to push. However, The PBA will not issue any statement, for now. The PBA chief can't disclose the result of the IATF meeting until he has informed the PBA board about what was agreed upon with the IATF. Exactly, they just want to remain active so Pinoys wont forget that PBA exist.
Honestly, PBA fans already know that the league might take up a long time before commencing again so they are now used to it. It won't be forgotten since the situation is understandable. Not just PBA but other leagues as well are having a hard time because of the current restrictions in the capital.

PBA bid to start season now in the hands of IATFThe PBA may be mum because the ball is on the IATF c/o Senator Bong Go. If the article above were to believe, seems the PBA have not purchased COVID-19 vaccines yet for the players and staff as Bong Go stated that he will sit down with Carlito Galvez Jr regarding it's purchase. So, if PBA will got help from Go on the vaccines then probably they can start the season on the later part of June as it's already May next week.

We don't know what's happening inside but I'm happy that they are continuously updating us with this positive news. Bong Go is a fan of the PBA as I believe I saw him participate in some of the games before (not a pro) and that makes me think that he will help the PBA to start its season. June is probably the most probable date the season will commence, as they continue to work on this, we should be optimistic about the PBA new season commencement.

There is no reason for us fans to complain, we understand everything and the situation is not that really good this time although I can see some good news lately about the decrease in active cases and more recoveries every day. I saw this news and the 4 of them have a meeting. Wishing all the best so that we can watch again PBA games.

Besides, we are not paying them or whatsoever, we are just provided with the entertainment and that is for free. Whatever decision with regards to the format they may come up with, we should support it so they'll continue to work hard in providing us entertainment.

Fans should give credit instead of complaining such efforts even this active pandemic is really hitting more people. The boards of governors and the franchise owners are really trying to find the better solution to go ahead and open this new season. Whatever the decision, be happy and continue to supporting the league, by watching and subscribing to their social media channels gives them some appreciation rewards. No physical appearance for the fans means less to no profits for the league. Support to whatever extent and enjoy once the game get started.

Who's complaining by the way? I think no one. Reading in social media, I read most comments there that no need to rush for PBA opening. If the article above were to believe, seems the PBA have not purchased COVID-19 vaccines yet for the players and staff as Bong Go stated that he will sit down with Carlito Galvez Jr regarding it's purchase.
Maybe an update about their purchase? I think PBA already bought some vaccines before but just waiting for distribution. They will not plan for a PBA opening if they didn't buy before the first target date of the opening. I've remembered that the government allows private buying as long as 50% of it will be donated to the public.

That's a good condition, and PBA has no choice because it's necessary if they want a higher success rate of the bubble. Once they started the season, it's not good to see it halted, so they need to ensure they already have the vaccine before they formally announce the start of the new season. I'm sure the PBA could afford the vaccine, and it's a good thing as they can also help the government with their donation.

If we will analyze the news in various sources about the meeting, based on their respective statements, looks like PBA have a low chance to open this month of May or June. Don't get me wrong as I just analyzed the statement by the Commissioner stating that he won't release any update unless PBA boards learn the result of the meeting. Since if the meeting is positive, somehow Marcial will give a hint. Since the number of cases is still rising in the Plus region, I think IATF can't even give them a clear answer for now.
IATF's decision relies on DOH so this department will be the one to grant PBA's request. Just my opinion on that matter.

I saw a post on Facebook (via One Sports) saying that the IATF or the government said that the cases of COVID19 in the country needs to drop first before the PBA will be allowed to play. Another one is that the league will try to get the teams to begin scrimmages when MECQ will be lifted. With this decision, I think that I will agree on it because right now its very dangerous to resume the season knowing that the cases aren't dropping. Because of the rising cases too, the President forced to extend the MECQ in some areas. If there is no sign of dropping cases into the next weeks then I don't think that PBA will resume on either May or June and there is a chance too that it will be a one conference this year again.

How worse the case now compared to the last time PBA has its bubble set up? I guess during the start it's scarier as we are not sure what to do, this time people have matured and have learned a lot, stopping the PBA from doing a bubble is like not trusting the organization, they succeeded in the past bubble, I guess they should be given a chance again this time. Let us now allow covid-19 to kill our economy, a bubble is a safe setup.

The 2nd or whatever wave is the one our government is trying to stop from happening to avoid what has happened to India. I think the IATF is just waiting for the availability of the vaccines before giving the go signal to the PBA to start preparing for the opening of the 46th season. All the players and team staff needs to be vaccinated before resuming operation just like in the NBA. Let us now allow covid-19 to kill our economy, a bubble is a safe setup.
It's a safe set-up but they can't afford the cost of holding another bubble.

Well, SMB lacking a big man will struggle, they'll be abuse in the inside by teams like Magnolia and Ginebra, therefore they really need the presence of JMF. If you still remember the epic comeback of the SMB in the PBA finals before when they are down 1-3, it was because JMF came back and they never lose again until they won the PBA Finals, Alaska was so disappointed that time but it is what it is.

Sounds true, I cannot remember that the SMB won a championship without Fajardo, they are good but their players rely heavily on the big man, that's why Fajardo is always getting a double-double, rebounds, and points.. With his absence, we already saw how easy to beat the SMB, during the bubble they lose against the Meralco Bolts because there's no Fajardo, the "Sagip Kapamilya" by the Ginebra did not work though.

Fernandez believes June Mar yet to reach peak, but warns to watch his weight
PBA legend Mon Fernandez believes June Mar Fajardo has yet to reach his peak as a basketball player, expecting the San Miguel star to hit new heights so long as he can keep his weight in check and avoid another major injury.
The PBA great said Fajardo at the age of 31 still has what it takes to dominate a league where he has won an unprecedented six MVP awards, although that will depend on how he will recover from a fractured tibia suffered last year.
“Probably not yet,” said Fernandez when asked during Thursday’s episode of SPIN.ph Zoom In if Fajardo has reached his peak. “’Yun nga ang in-advise ko sa kanya: Wag talaga siyang lumaki at tumaba. The moment na mag-overweight siya or ‘yung playing weight niya, bumigat, that would be bad for his knees.” He is right though, Fajardo has to probably reduce weight so he will not be prone to injury, he will be the recipient of all the physicality inside so he needs to maintain his health. I just realized that he is still at 31 years old after reading this article, so he is still young and could still offer more, surely more MVP award to come as long as he keeps his body healthy.

Fajardo is a key player of SMB and without him, it will be hard for them to win a championship. Though every team are working hard to place on top, so there’s still no assurance for SMB to win a title even if Fajardo goes back on court. With regards to Fajardo, he’s still young and if he recovers I’m sure he’ll be more stronger.

There's no assurance but they have a higher chance of winning, but the condition is, Fajardo should be healthy and fully playing like a normal Fajardo. His injury keeps him sideline for long, and we don't know yet if he is still aggressive as he was before, so let's just hope for the best.
