We cannot tell who fits better until we see Manuel start playing with the SMB. However, in comparison, Arwind Santos has helped a lot the SMB team to be successful because he won championships many times with this team. Maybe let's just say that his time has come, accept his fate and probably also prepare for retirement soon as that's life in basketball.
Right now, SMB is still figuring out how to be more competitive to be a dominant team again.
Arwin knew that and he can't do anything it's the franchise decision, better to accept this fate and continue receiving paychecks, and it's true he can start thinking about retiring, he already contribute enough to this league, with those rings it's a good achievement that every players desire to have when stepping to this league. Santos also is a very accomplished player, he won multiple championships and finals MVP as well. There's nothing to worry on his side as he will continue to receive his salary and eventually he will retire since he is already in retirement age. SMB thanked him for his contribution as he did his job very well, but since this is business and time will come the management needs to make a decision for the betterment of the team, he just have to accept it's part of the process. I'm curious though to what contribution both Manuel and Enciso will add to SMB. Not sure but both players came from alaska right? they are familiar with each other, the adjustment with SMB system is very crucial if both of them are fits to what SMB runs a play.
I understand that the SMB management already have a plan prior to the trade, so there's nothing to worry about, they can test them and if they don't work they can find a way to trade them too.

What can you say guys about Christian Standhardinger playing for the Japan B-League after the PBA Governors Cup?
For me, a good decision. First, he is not fit the Ginebra system (although can be fixed with more games playing at Ginebra). Second, he will be utilized more in the B League, and lastly, career-wise, the paycheck is much better compared to playing at the PBA.
I'm just thinking that "what if", the Barangay able to snatch a title at the Governor's Cup. Will that change Standhardinger's plan to go to B-League? A big compensation is an assurance if Brgy. Ginebra makes it to the championship.

I didn't see that coming; I was in the impression that after he left SMB for a good trade that it's just a way to send him to Gin Kings, but you are right seems he is not fit to Gin Kings system and the timing of his arrival some key players who can help them are unhealthy. Maybe if they are all healthy and have a good working relation to fit him to the team's system, they might not be eliminated that early. Maybe he sees practicality, having good paychecks and competing with much bigger and better players will expose him and maybe he will enhance more while playing with different sets of people. He can go back anytime or he can play anywhere, he's still young, and he has the height and skills

I'm trying to find some articles or sources with this news but I can't find one. Kindly share the link here so that we can read the news because this is a huge news. Well, lets face it. B-league is a better league compare to PBA in terms of salary and in competition. This is the reason why Filipino Players opted to play at B-league. They are saying that they want experience but aside from that, the money that they will get playing there would be much better than playing in PBA. Any player that comes from PBA and will play to B-league would always be a good decision and this is one of them. I mean he might play better there and aside from that, he will get more money. I think that we already expected this outcome after Thirdy playing in B-league. Him playing in B-league created a domino effect against young Filipino Basketball players and those professional players as well. Now I don't know what will Ginebra do to let CStan stay but.... I'm thinking that PBA is in trouble right now because more and more players are opting to play outside PH instead of playing here.

I'm sure lots of teams will be interested on him.

The C Stand that we once think will be a dominant big man failed us, that's the reality.

The C Stand that we once think will be a dominant big man failed us, that's the reality. He failed just now that he is in a new team but I don't think he is a failed player . I still believe that he will be the same CStand as he is when he is on NorthPort where he is very dominant. We all saw how he is dominating when he is in NorthPort right. Correct me but he was one of the nominees for best player of the conference that time and they also defeated the top seeded NLEX that time when he is still in NorthPort and they are the 8th at that time. Put him on a different team and he might dominate again. What I think is wrong is that, the system of Coach Tim Cone isn't working for CStand for some reasons that is why he isn't as dominate as he was a few years ago. Him going into Japan might be a better choice for him but lets see how this season works with him. If Ginebra fails again, he might go to Japan and play there. I agree too that many teams will be interested in him. His crafty shots and include also his height. He might be a good defender against other imports out there.

C. Stand is not also impressive during his stay with the North Port, so I can really say that he is not what we are expecting him to be. He played with SMB, I guess that's where his numbers were up but later he was traded for Tautua, so I don't understand why a good player is traded from time to time.

He played well with both SMB and North Port he provide good help for those two teams, I just don't know what happen with Ginebra after acquiring him. They are the defending champ from the last first bubble, but they've got an earlier elimination after having CStand. Maybe it's true that he is not fit with how Tim Cone handles his big men. It's better for Ginebra if they sign Greg instead of getting CStand. This new conference will be another tough challenge if he stayed. maybe Brownlee will help him to lift the team.

The goal of SMC is to make Ginebra more popular and a little bit stronger thus they trade Slaughter for CStand but that didn't materialize as Cstand style of play seemed to be in conflict with that of the other big man of Ginebra which is Japeth Aguilar, they don't jive well hen they are on the floor together. If he stayed for one more conference, I think they could make it to the semis with CStand and Brownlee playing together because the latter is a willing passer which could boost Cstand's morale whenever he scored a basket from a Brownlee assist.

We all know how good Brownlee is, but this is a different team he is playing with now although I believe Brownlee and C. Stand have played together in an international competition before.

Anyone who follows Snow Badua? Before, Romeo said that he has a life debt to SMC and that's why he doesn't want to accept B League's offer. But lately, the guy that I've mentioned has just opened the offer to Terrence for about $55,000/month and it will increase within the next year or next season of his stay in the B League. All things are free, accommodation and food. That's a good offer to him but still haven't said anything lately with that offer.

Snow Badua always released lots of rumors and the majority of them come true. I don't know his source but his speculation is mostly accurate. Maybe because of his influence as one of the popular journalists of Spin.ph. But lately, the guy that I've mentioned has just opened the offer to Terrence for about $55,000/month and it will increase within the next year or next season of his stay in the B League.
Wait, I misunderstand this. Snow Badua was the one who offered that to Romeo?

That's a huge amount of money. The chance that Romeo might accept this is very possible. With the hypes of those Pinoy stars who played inside B-League, maybe Romeo will accept that he doesn't have anything to prove the talent should be shared internationally If I'm on hi shoe I will go and grab that opportunities, he should look at how SMB trade his big bro players that he respected the most and guide him while he still new to SMB. He can still go back, correct me if I'm wrong it's a one-year ban then he can apply again to play right? the worth of money he will going to bag from this offer is more than enough to provide his family's needs.

I agree with you, if SMB can easily ditch their players that have contributed to their success in the past easily, then most likely he will experience it in the future. AFAIK, Romeo's monthly salary is just around Php 200k to Php 300k per month, but if he played with the B League, he will get more or less x10 of his current salary, so I think he should go and forget about that debt of gratitude thing.

This is the story behind that Debt of Gratitdue. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/terrence-romeo-declines-offer-from-japan-b-league-team-a800-20210705and this is his salary if he every sign a contract. Breaking down the offer, Romeo, sources said, was supposed to receive $50,000 a month on the first year of the contract, $75,000 in the second and $100,000 in the third year. $100k per month in the 3rd year, that's more like 5 million pesos per month, that is a life-changing offer and I hope he'll consider it now that the PBA is slowly losing its popularity.

Put him on a different team and he might dominate again. What I think is wrong is that, the system of Coach Tim Cone isn't working for CStand for some reasons that is why he isn't as dominate as he was a few years ago.
C. Stand is not also impressive during his stay with the North Port, so I can really say that he is not what we are expecting him to be. He played with SMB, I guess that's where his numbers were up but later he was traded for Tautua, so I don't understand why a good player is traded from time to time. Hmmmm didn't he played very well when he is in NorthPort?? I mean when he joined NP, the team is just one of the few teams that are in the 8th seed that defeated a top seeded team and he has a huge contribute to that. If I remember correctly, he averaged double double that conference as well. Trading him from SMB to NP would be better for him because he can't use his skills that much in SMB since he is just a 2nd unit and they are focusing on Fajardo. They know as well that CStand has a huge potential that is why they traded him. Well, at least that is what I know. Anyone who follows Snow Badua? Its starting to have an effect already. Many are expecting I think that this will have a domino effect not only for young players but for professional players in the PH as well and we don't know when this will end since it seems that Japan likes to get Filipino Imports . He can accept this offer but his name might get affected but either way, its his decision to go there or stay. It will just be harder for him since he spit those words like "he has a life debt to SMC therefore, he will not accept any offers from there".

I am not sure if he played well with NP, maybe I missed some of his games because North Port is not exciting to watch. I like the NP when Romeo and Pingle were the star players of the team, but when they left, I already lost interest in the team. Also, if C. Stand was doing good in NP then NP should have kept him, so I think they were not satisfied with his impact on the team.

He doesn't need that loyalty; he needs the money with how things change in his life now, better to think for a much better future, his career will be more effective if he will play outside the country, I used to remember when the call for him to play for Gilas and the coaching staff just take it for granted, not saying that it's not SMB alone but for sure if that said offer is for real, he should grab it now. He already gives SMB his best from the past games that he played. I'm sure seeing his teammates leaving will also affect his decisions. We will know once he or the SMB managements will announce anything about this rumor,.

Romeo should take that offer now that he is still healthy, once he is prone to injuries, that offer will be gone and he will stay in the PBA for the rest of his life, and just like Cabagnot and Santos, he will also be traded because the team will never be loyal to him, all they do is for the interest of their business, not their personal relationships to their players.
