I guess the penalty is just reasonable, besides, the PBA itself is not running a fixed game, he was just saying that there's a fixed game and his tip is guaranteed to win, but it did not happen. So, probably he was just inventing it because he can use his position being a player to convince the person that he is credible. It's hard to make speculation this one, maybe let's wait for the result of the investigation.

But sadly, the original guy lost and he's exposed. The number of gcash is his and how can you deny that with a picture sent. De Guzman will just deny all of the allegations even if it's already caught in the act, well, the league doesn't need a guy like this. Despite that we don't like the politics of the league, there should still be players that won't be involved into such throw/insider game.

SAN MIGUEL is one win away from a return trip to the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals, and though it had a number of capable closers to thank for, a neophyte silently and steadily stepped up to bring it closer to a place once familiar to the team.

Playing his first conference with the Beermen, quick-fire guard CJ Perez did not disappoint and served as the quiet but lethal operator for the team's resurgence after being dethroned in the Clark bubble last season.

Perez, the two-time scoring champ from Terrafirma, averaged 17.0 points on 44 percent clip from three-range, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in the Beermen's last two wins which ended dramatically behind the game-winners of veterans of Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot.

Behind his steady numbers, Perez, a native of Pangasinan, was adjudged the Cignal Play-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for the period Sept. 22-26, bridging the tail-end of the eliminations and the start of the quarterfinals.

Perez is seeing action in his first playoffs appearance since emerging as the top pick in the 2018 draft.

I salute him for being a player of the week despite playing with the best team in the PBA now, he really has improved as a player, he knows he can drop 20 points or more in a game but he choose to spread the ball to share it with his teammates, this quality of a player deserves this kind of award.

Fixing games has to be one of the disgusting things a person can do. I don't know if he has fixed the match or not, but if he has, he should be getting the punishment. I think if he is proven guilty, he should be banned for life, this will create an example for others about the consequences of match-fixing. But I really hope that he hasn't fixed the match and the allegations are false.

CJ is always a fun player to watch. That guy scores take rebounds, assists his teammates, even he is good at stealing the ball from the hand of his opponents. I think he is more prone to giving the ball to his teammates compared to previous seasons and so on. San Miguel's results somewhat depend on how CJ plays, and if CJ keeps up his tempo, they should be winning the finals as well and so far CJ is my MVP of the team. Up to 17 points and 2.5 assists in the past 2  games is always a very good stat for a PG player. Let's hope he can hold onto his good form.

this SMB is a scary team, they are undoubtedly the best team now.

If you able to watch their last game, you won't able to say they are the best team now. They have difficult time with the NorthPort and almost losing it. They are not the scary SMB like before. We can't take the reason that Romeo is out because even without him, SMB roster is still greater and better than the whole NorthPort roster. And with the performance of SMB this conference, at least 2-3 teams has a chance of taking them down even Fajardo is there.

Not saying SMB is not better but other teams just improve that's why I disagree that SMB is a scary team this playoffs.

You said right! I'm just waiting for Junemar to produce this kind of stats, seems he already got the movement and just a little more push and he's also back in shape, if this will take place SMB with the complete sets of stars will have the big edge over any teams inside the league.

If you follow those leads regarding to this issue, you'll see that he's not the one who escalate the fix, he's just a rookie and he don't have any control with it, the very reason why the said fixing didn't materialize and worse the bet got loss. He just involve since he tried being a bridge between the so-called fixers and the people who are willing to pay for that sure bet.

Sooner or later, that issue will be forgotten. PBA teams are known to have a deal with each other, especially within sister teams. That was something it can't be public. But no teams will be honest about that since that will damage the reputation of PBA which in return, no viewers will now watch and follow the league. Only speculations of bigayan is what we always read and just speculation.

SMB has a thrilling win and I like the Northport to bounce back in game 2, probably we will see Romeo back and that's good for the SMB as that will make them  100% complete.

But don't expect. Game time decision I guess and that will impact the odds. Better bet at least few hours before the match especially for handicap. Lots of gamblers I think got blew on that -4 handicap for SMB.

Yeah, it indeed difficult to assure yourself betting with the favorites. We witnessed lots of upset coming from the previous games where underdog managed to win and blown every bet with small odd ML.

Sooner or later, that issue will be forgotten. PBA teams are known to have a deal with each other, especially within sister teams. That was something it can't be public. But no teams will be honest about that since that will damage the reputation of PBA which in return, no viewers will now watch and follow the league. On paper, they are the best team in the PBA right now and all the pieces in the puzzle have taken their place just right on time before the semis begin. Terrence Romeo will be entering the bubble and he will be a big help on their quest for the championship this season. CJ Perez will just be a backup in case one of the starters would be having an off night, he should be used to it as not all the time that his scoring is needed.
