In my opinion, Messi will not go anywhere. He was dissatisfied with the leadership of Barcelona. And probably he understood or someone told him that his alleged departure could cause dissatisfaction among the fans. And under pressure, the current leadership will resign. And then new elections, the new president, who owes Messi and, accordingly, a new contract.

Nothing is 100% certain in life except death who would have thought Ronaldo would leave Real Madrid for Juventus? He told them when he was ready to leave, he needed new challenge, environment, new friends, new location. They allowed him leave. Same thing with Messi if he eventually wants to leave and the  the buying team meets all the criteria set by Barcelona. They will definitely allow him go. I'm not seeing that happening anytime soon. Even if Messi would leave Barcelona it wouldn't be for a team that he will one day play against Barcelona maybe his childhood football team in Argentina or somewhere away from Europe.

Lastly after the humiliating defeat they suffered at the hands of Bayern, their newly appointed coach decides to tell Messi that his privileges are over, and now he’s just a regular team player.

Is this actually true? To be honest, it probably depends on how much control he has over the club/behind the scenes but sometimes a reality check for divas is a dose of reality they need. I have no idea whether this is true of Messi but if he's thrown his toys out of the pram just because he's been told he's not going to get special privileges then this is a bit petty. I still don't think he's going to leave but surely his reputation there with both the board and fans will be soured unless they love him blindly so much he will be forgvien no matter what he does.

Big difference. Messi is a one club man and Ronaldo had already left Lisbon and United. I'm sure he'll play for a couple of other clubs before he retires as well. I read the other day that Italy only has 25% taxes so that was one of the reasons why he went there. Maybe Messi will go there for the same reasons too.

Yeah, Bartomeu must leave Barcelona sooner or later. We have seen Barcelona's gameplay in this season. I have rarely seen such a bad game Barcelona. Barcelona team needed some drastic changes, we need some good defender and we also need a goal machine like Messi. If Messi really leave Barcelona, something worse is waiting for Barcelona next season.  I think Bartomeu should resign now and change the coach.  That would be the best decision for a better future for Barcelona.

I think that Messi did his best and helped Barcelona a lot in the past.
I think he gave more to Barca than he received back.
He is not married with them and have right to leave 😀

Without Barca, Messi does not have what we have now. Without Messi, Barca don't get too many trophies in last 20 years. Debate can occur but the fact is Messi is a last piece of Barca squad, and tiki-taka is completed with Messi and Pep.

So much for personal sadness, denial, and hope that Messi should stay with Barca. It is over to put it bluntly. Bartolomeu already threathens to resign if Messi won't leave Barca. Philippe Coutinho is being groomed to be Messi replacement, and Manchester City will give 100 million Euros to Messi as part of the deal. I don't know about you guys but Messi has to move on to greener and better pastures and teams that would give him that and good team management will be a welcome change for Messi. Let's move on.

I think it will be good just waiting for the process, Barca could be without a title, play badly but this has to be done for regeneration. This process will take some time, and the results are not immediately visible. Maybe the fans are ready to go without a title, the game is not good, things will look difficult at the start, but if the management is serious it will be good for the future. The transfer market this time must be put to good use by the coach, the selection of players must think about his project to continue and live long, not just what the coach wants for one season.

Messi just wants to reunion or join Pep, because if Pep's contract is not extended I think Messi will stay at Barca but anything can happen. If Messi leaves then that will only make Barca even more devastated I feel, because when Messi doesn't play because the injury has shown that Barca still has a dependency with Messi. For that reason, I'm not sure Barcelona will still be okay if Messi leaves, because to get back up and improve that management will at least take a long time to get back to being at its best.

You are right. Messi has a big role for Barcelona squad, as I ever said that he is the soul of the Barcelona team now. Messi's role is irreplaceable, even Barcelona buy a superstar, no guarantee that the superstar can fit with the team instantly. Moreover, Messi is the captain of Barcelona squad right now, it should be a big loss if Messi leaves the squad in the next season. I cannot imagine how bad the condition in Barca squad if no Messi there!

Everything is replaceable if there is a big chunk of money. The only thing that prevent Messi from leaving is that there isnt any team out there that has the balls to bid high for this player. People say the same thing to Ronaldo but he left for Juventus.

Sooner or later , Messi is going to leave Barcelona. Either he is going to retire in few more years or spend few more years playing for another club. People needs to get over it and this is just normal, this is football and this is business. Everything can be purchase if a team has lots of money which include Messi. Probably not going to be this season but sooner or later though

Barcelona desperately needs to restructure the team. I don't think that pressuring Messi to stay will only make the club better, but other solutions must be found that effectively contribute to improving the situation Barcelona is currently going through. It is true that Messi has made good offers with the club that deserve all the appreciation from the club's fans, but at the moment he wants to leave, so the club must accept that.

Barca then La Liga, they all cooperated together to try get as much money from the transfer of Messi as possible. Is it fair and respectful for one of their greatest legendary players in Barca's and La Liga's histories? What they reacted with the official burofax from Messi and drama show that Messi chose a good decision. I support him to leave Barca and La Liga ASAP. He contributed for them too much and at the end, they only want as highest money as possible.

I don't try to generalize all things but it seems from Barca to Real Madrid then La Liga, they don't show deep respect for their legendary players. It is different than Bundesliga or Serie A.
