Future batches (October) will meet our desired spec.
Guy
That's pretty funny. That's what you said the last time. Maybe another unexpected problem will come up. Maybe you can say: "They will definitely be on spec. Or the won't" Don't worry. Your miners will arrive on time and on spec. Unfortunately, this is the same thing CoinTerra, KnC, BFL all said. It has about the same meaning as 'the check is in the mail!' wait and see what they do. then make your insults or say wow they are standup guys. Look, I already waited to see what they did. They said: "Seriously, we know what we are doing. It will be in spec and on time." Now it is not. We saw what they did. There is nothing to wait for. Its done. The deal is this, I am 100% sure Spondoolies guys are 100% awesome. They are good guys I am sure. But, they spend a lot of time saying: 'for sure on spec, on time'. You can't say that stuff with so much certainty and then be amazed about the backlash. The backlash is due. No matter what compensation package they give, preparations were made and money was spend. this is going to cost datacenter operators real money. Expecially those who believed in Spondoolies big confident talk. Spondoolies only has one way to make good on the deal. They must STFU, go in the lab, make an SP50 and release it early and at cost to their SP30 customers. SP30 customers don't want refunds, they don't want excuses, they don't want coupons, they want serious fucking hash power. ST needs to man up, admit their confidence was misplaced, and make good by bringing a perfect monster machine SP50. All SP30 customers will be 100% pleased if they get early access to next gen at a great price. Everyone happy.

Nice chart. Thanks. There is misprint about Bitmine Desk. They have never shipped Rigs but they are shipping Desks. 1TH/s for $1,599.00 I have 9 Rigs in my possession, so they have shipped some.... They may had shipped some after mid June. When I received my refund for the Rigs in the end of May there were still no Rigs and they were shipping only Desks. Anyway ,they are not selling any Rigs but only Desks. And for $1,599 not $7,000

You have 9 SP30s or 9 SP10s? If you have received the SP30 what is the hash rate and power consumption, there are literally hundreds here waiting to hear...

hmm, i've paid the high price for this top miner (5.4 th/s when i've ordered) to have it asap (early august). I wonder what will be the final hashrate... I understand that's a pre-order and specs can slightly change. SP10 is a great product (1.5+ TH/S instead of 1.4). I'm sure that SP-T will compensate customer accordingly to the loss of hashrate for the SP30.
Waiting for more news from Guy !
To all the troll, we've been waiting for months for the SP30. can't you wait quietly for more few days ? grow up guyz !

They can't because they have been busting a gut waiting for any slight bit of sub-optimal news about SP so they could vent their bile built up from when they got burnt from previous bad buying decisions, or just because they missed out on the SP10 or SP30 and want to justify their decisions.

Without any solid information, they can't bitch forever. As everyone else I read : "lower hashrate than expected". That's all. How much ? 1% 10% 50%? We don't know and as far as I understand, SP-T neither... As usual, wait and see.

As usual, wait and see. they have said it is the first batch of chips that are the problem..i think they also said it was a heat issue...my guess is you will get 2 boxes 1 board 1 power supply each and the extra size fans and the bigger box now with only one board would limit any heat issues imho..and/or compensation for batch 1 orders with this bunch of chips in refund of $$$ etc it is the only way I can see they can move fast enough to get the units out in the time frame they claim....tackle perhaps the heat issue if i remember correctly and the $$ compensation in order to 'motivate/inspire confidence' that all is back on track and open up the sp 30 units for sale again and keep market share if not..plunk...market share now is ZERO in that they are not taking orders.... anyway I know zip but imho this is probably the 'only' way to move fast enough...get confidence back in the product and get it out in the timeline they still say they want to move the product out.... er if some of the above has already been shot down? please say how you think it may get back to a point of 'confidence' in spondoolies products...for the life of me with the time/heat/chip constraints as I see them.........all I can figure is the above as most likely (we can argue if they are gonna go the above route ..but imho to get stuff back on track and their reputation intact something like above is needed asap) my 2c worth (I will be the first to admit I'm likely way way off) Searing

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Its always a heat issue when it comes to bitcoin mining, but its not the problem in this case. They won't ship half filled units for no reason, those cases are expensive and the cooling performance wouldn't increase hugely without totally redesigning the heatsinks. Makes no sense to part it and also require additional control boards, half the density, double the shipping etc. Fiat costs are expensive.

Yet another company shows that smaller process node isn't necessarily that much better. Every one so far as failed to meet simulated results due to power/heat.

Well lets compare to cpu world. Intel chip for example. Ivy bridge to haswell. Extremely negligible gain, not really even worth the sunk cost of RD. From consumer perspective not even worth the upgrade. Any diff in the bitcoin world, i think not.

to be fair antminer s-3's fell short. 441 gh vs 478 gh but the watt per hash was on spot around .75 watts a hash. if the sp30 does close to the .46-.50 watt mark and hashes at 4.8th it will not be the end of the world. a 20 percent refund for 20 percent hash shortage does fix the issue. The key is do they come close to the .46-.50 watt mark. If it can't do .65 watts it would be a really big problem. Edit s-3 was about 7.7% short in hashrate 441 vs 478. s-3 is spot on in power rate .75 watts a gh. To make amends they gave a 7.7% refund or a 10% coupon on your next purchase

Your only telling half the story, the Bitmain Ant miner S3 did come up short at 441G, but they offered coupons and refunds for the difference in hash rate. It's not like they tried to pull a fast one. Honestly, their hash rate is spot on in my opinion. Not that I don't like Spondoolies, but I have yet to get 1.4T out of any of my non-spondoolies hosted miners, maybe 1.2T.
