A big farm has just switched to XPM mining producing 50% more blocks: http://xpm.muuttuja.org/charts/You can see that on the "Average Block Rate over Time" chart which reads above 1.5 -> 150%. That means the diff will at least go to ~10.90 in the next few days. EDIT: Using claymore's miner this farm must have at least 2000 pieces of 290X...

Do you have to restart the system when the driver crashes or can you just close and re-run the miner with zero performance drop? I know Claymore's miner requires a system restart as it is otherwise slow and not working properly.
I guess it's Catalyst-related issue, not miner-related. If the miner shows same stats after driver crash - good, if not - reboot is required.

It could be, but to me it looks like just a lot of folks piling on the gravy train, most coming over from PTS after the recent difficulty drop ended. But if you look at the charts, it's the same group of folks that have always been in the ypool top ten, give or take: http://wan.synology.me/ypool/index.php?user=croak&coin=XPM&duration=Week

I am not quite sure why everybody act so surprised by that. It was obvious that the introduction of the gpu in the game would cause a large increase of the difficulty...

Air cooled
Dont care for water, tried it in college and became too much of a pain in the ass.
Though i do have an extra 80 MM blowing on it from the front, a 120MM blowing on it from the side, 2 PCI Slot coolers top and bottom of the card to pull heat away and a 120 MM above this near the CPU blowing out.
Still pretty quite too.

Can you release a gpu riecoin miner ? That would be a nice update and solo mining might be easier there ? (no it isn't a joke)

Is it normal for GPU activity to hang around 93-96% rather than 99% I usually got with LTC mining? Periodically the GPU activity will drop to 50% or so, for about 10 sec before resuming 90+%. This occurs every minute or so. Is this normal? What could the bottleneck be? It looks like the drops are correlated with a new block being found on the network. I am assuming its just spending time generating new work or something.....

Just want to point out that there is an open source linux miner: http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2668.0Source: https://github.com/eXtremal-ik7/xpmminerThere will be an eventually a windows miner version soon after.

They help to distribute it out. As more people pile in with GPU mining XPM I suspect the supply will get thin over time and those who have held will be rewarded greatly. Time will tell (the charts are telling right now).

Litecoin had the same type of start. Initially for a few months it was only CPU miners then came the GPU miners (not in hoards), but then it got more popular and then asics are on the horizon. I suspect if XPM gets worth $10+ per coin you will see asics get developed for it. This would be exciting as the industries that utilize prime number chains would have a reason to pay attention to the network as longer chains get discovered.

Anyone else having the problem of the having the primecoin-GPU miner lock up always, after running an hour or two, or maybe even four? Mine starts out counting passes pretty well but then just seems to freeze. Didn't have this problem with Scrypt mining although I did run cgwatcher and the driver would occasionally crash, and cgwatcher would restart sgminer, so I wonder if it's related. Primecoin GPU miner ver. 1.03 ----------------------------- Mining time: 4.15 hours Est. Average Chains Per Day (CPD): 1.17 Est. Spot Chains Per Day (CPD): 1.17
Pass: 6161 GPU #0 time: 243

you need to find a sweet spot when setting gpu speed and memory... i had a similar issue which was due to overclocking high and undervolting too low... try to increase voltage and monitor... I just noticed that the cost of a license is now 25XPM. Is anybody going to be getting any refunds (like me for instance . I bought a one card license only a few days ago, naturally I've found 0 blocks so far, but a lot of 10-chains, despite having an amazing card... my settings are okay, my machine is stable...)? I don't think it's fair that the cost is not the same for everyone. And it's not fair that no one was informed that prices could go down, I know I would not mind waiting a couple of days to save 10XPM. I thought this miner would become free in 6 months, until then 35XPM a pop. Looks like all those who haven't broken even yet by making a purchase are going to get screwed not only by the rising difficulty, but by the fact that Claymore's miner will soon be faster than primeGPU's, so only two things can be done to make primeGPU's miner competitive... increasing miner performance or lowering license fees. Looks like it's going to be the latter...
