Any idea where to get BAMT now? bamter.org is down.

**edit** one of the original backup links appears to be working, but thats it. Otherwise all quiet......

BitcoinTrading!  I try keep a copy of any file that would be essential to the Bitcoin world.  I would post a direct link to the ISO here, but if I am experience heavy load and need to move the image links to another server or something I would have to run back and fix all the links, just check the page there for the current link.

My guess is we are not going to see it.  It's been almost a year with nothing.

I haven't given up on finishing it, but I also can't justify putting much time into it.  Maybe someday I'll get motivated.

Failing that, all of the source is included on every ISO.  Anyone anywhere that ever feels like spending their time improving or adding to it is more than welcome.  It's all FOSS.

Well I would really like to see it finished. Sorry I do not have the talent to do it myself. If you could just update BAMT with the new AMD drivers and new CGMiner that would be good enough for me. Are you asking for more donations or just don't feel like doing it?

It could still be used to run FPGAs or ASICs. It doesnt HAVE to be used to GPU mine.

I was rather curious about Joshwaa´s reference to updating AMD drivers, implying GPU (7xxx) mining.

Yes that is correct. For 7970's. I have a few and would like to use BAMT. I dont expect any ASIC's out till after February so that over two months of still gpu mining.  Also supporting BFL Single and SC would be nice.

So why not use (for 7970) ahem....my updated BAMT posted earlier in this thread?

Except the cgminer version (now old) the SDK and AMD driver are the best you can use. No need to update anything (except of course cgminer).

Downloading now. What AMD drivers are in it? What CGMiner version is it?

Cgminer version IS rather old now...although is easy to update.

P.S. I can eventually update cgminer and send it to you by mail or something. Just need to replace the old cgminer folder with the new one.
You can go also Litecoin mining then, got about 560kh/s (2200+ with 4 cards) last time I tried.

Ah crap...mc_lovin reminded me about the restart issue with cgminer in BAMT after version 2.6.
The included cgminer 2.5.0 does not have this problem, but if you update to a newer version cgminer will restart every minute or so.
The solution is to NOT APPLY fix 20 in BAMT or if you done it already download this fix from ckolivas: http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/temp/mother.

The whole story here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=65915.msg1100171#msg1100171

Smiley

I have something cool to say, well..

UnixStickers.com is now accepting Bitcoin.

They have badges for all popular Linux distros, like Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc, even stuff like PHP, MySQL, Apache.  It's nuts.  I just ordered a ton of them.

I told them that, seriously, they need a BAMT sticker.  It would be epic to have every bitcoin miner out there to put a BAMT case badge on their rig.  I said miners would by them by the wheel-barrow full.

They said it's a great idea, and they want to know if the creator of BAMT (lodcrappo) would permit the usage of the BAMT logo for this purpose?  The stickers are super cheap, like $0.50 each, and I think all of you would put a BAMT badge on your case.  I know I would.

What do you say, Lodcrappo?  Email info@unixstickers.com if they haven't gotten in touch with you already.  Smiley

I see you approved, looking forward to getting a BAMT badge for my rigs!!!  w00000t!

I don't know if this has been asked yet or not but does BAMT work with Reaper?

I would say that it most likely would not. It might be able to run sort of the way cgminer does, but all the code would have to be tweaked to utilize all the stats, graphs, & farm management. I doubt anyone, especially Lodcrapo, would put any kind of time into it.

I tried 0.6 beta but it wouldn't let me write to the config or pools files.
