Gold down, Bitcoin UP.

You do realize that Ben blabs today, right? And that it would look very bad if gold were flying in the face of the world's monetary and political overlords? And that the illusion of 'worthless' gold has to be maintained so that otherwise intelligent people will foolishly reject it? And that every time you've pointed out gold as being down recently, it soon claws back up? And that gold will lag because it's a much bigger market and it moves more slowly than Bitcoin?

Such excitement over what was expected? Has everyone forgotten that Ben speaks in 90 minutes?

The intention so far is not to disturb the markets, but also to keep the warning signs from triggering. Hence the attempt to prop up everything US. The problem is that things are sliding in the opposite direction no matter how much effort is made to keep that from happening.

Bernanke's announcement may very well reverse all of that in a typical bankster move designed to squeeze the last bit it can during a 'major' event. At worst, the 2nd quarter data in early July will see the last desperate measures before capitulating and riding the built-up pressure to new levels of 'profitability' and bonus payouts.

Being long Bitcoin and gold means you don't have to care what happens. I'm going to do something worthwhile instead of listening to hot air from the bearded one. Enjoy the circus!

Yeehaw,

Gold DOWN, Bitcoin UP!!!

Gold is up $2 or about 0.1% from its NY open today. Bitcoin is up $0.10 or about 1.5% during the same period. Today was a circle-jerking non-event. Relax.

Shocking! Gold is now down a whopping $2. Oh, wait! Now it's flat! Up a dollar, down a dollar, flat, down 2, up 3... based on these numbers, I predict that the melting point of fused quartz will fall to 600oC. Any wonder why day-trading is for algos and suckers?

I haven't even bothered to look at the futures volume, though I'm sure it'll be amusing. So now the question you need to answer is: why isn't gold breaking down?
