1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 24, 2023, 01:08:11 PM
Congrats to those who ride on the Celtics, Jayson Tatum prevented a end of season for them as he lead all scorers with 33 points. So another sigh of relived fort them, just one game at a time. Lost my bet on the Heat as I thought that they are going to sweep the series.

The good thing is that they are going back to Boston Garden. The bad thing is that numbers is against them. No team in the history of NBA has comeback from down 0-3 in a playoff series.

The downside is that there is no guarantee they will win Game 6, as they don't have a good home record in the playoffs. Therefore, the Heat would still be a threat. In fact, home court is no longer an advantage in this series, as both teams have won on their opponent's home court.

Jason Tatum needs to bring that energy in Game 5, or else it will be time to go fishing.

Of course, there's no guarantee that the home team will win, although we can say that they have a higher chance of winning since they have the crowd's support. However, we've already seen in the Lakers vs Nuggets series where the Nuggets beat the Lakers twice on their home court to eliminate them. We have to assess which team is better, and based on the current record, it appears that the Heat are the better team.

If the Celtics win Game 5 and 6, then I think we will have a game.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 24, 2023, 12:36:13 PM
Haney and Top Rank should be happy that they got that numbers and the money.
They cannot be happy if the expectation is high but the outcome is low. I suppose Haney needs to change his style from boring to an exciting boxer. That would certainly attract more viewers, especially if he keeps winning with his new style. Mayweather was boring, yet he was a PPV king. Haney cannot just use that as a basis, as he is not as good as Mayweather. Additionally, people's tastes may have changed since there are plenty of exciting boxers in the sport who are worth spending on PPV subscriptions.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 23, 2023, 04:46:56 AM
So the Nuggets will have a nine-day rest before going to the NBA Finals, where they have the home court advantage.

The Miami Heat need to finish the series tomorrow so they can also rest and both teams can prepare for the NBA Finals. Based on the betting odds I saw, the Nuggets are the favorites, but that doesn't guarantee they will win, right?

What are your speculations, guys, for a possible Heat vs Nuggets matchup in the Finals? What team do you think will win?
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 23, 2023, 01:00:00 AM
Good luck, bro. The Lakers don't want to be embarrassed in front of the crowd, but you know the Nuggets are very consistent. Even if the refs are not always in their favor, they keep working hard and sticking to their system. You're right, the Lakers are usually strong in the 1st to 3rd quarters but struggle when it comes to closing the game. So, if the game remains close, we will likely see the Lakers ending their series today.

Lakers have made some decent rotation to give them a better chance, Dennis Schroder getting the start ahead of D'Angelo Russell and also Rui Hachimura who has had some great minutes off the bench in this series for the Lakers also getting the nod ahead of Vanderbilt, I think the Lakers could get a win here, if they managed to retain this line for most of the game and don't get into foul troubles, the early signs have been good so far for them.

The Lakers are leading, and James is off to a great start. However, it's still too early to conclude that the Lakers will win this game. Their lack of consistency throughout the series is the reason they are down 0-3. In order for them to secure a victory, they need an exceptional performance from LeBron James and must find a way to contain the Nuggets' impressive 3-point shooting.
1005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment, fulltime endeavor or side hustle? on: May 21, 2023, 06:46:12 PM
I decided to bring this question too to the Bitcoin community itself so I would hear from other traders like myself. What is your opinion about this would you quit your job and go into Bitcoin investment, considering it as a full-time hustle?

Definitely not, Bitcoin investment is very risky to put your whole life on it since it’s very volatile unlike jobs that give you a sustainable source of profit by being consistent to your work. There’s no such thing as consistent on Bitcoin or crypto investment in general. You can be quick rich or quick poor based on the outcome of your investment.

Unless you already secured your future funds that will gonna last until you die then this is the best time to do this kind of crazy idea but with moderation.

Why would you sacrifice your stable source of income just to focus on Bitcoin investment while you can do both by doing your work and invest your salary on Bitcoin then just hold.
I would agree to this. Yes, bitcoin investment profits is way bigger compared to what we usually earn from our day job but seeing it’s not consistent and sustainable, then it’s not enough to quit our job and just turn to bitcoin for our main source of income. It will always be a side hustle for me, so that in times of losing, at least my finances will not easily ruined because I still have my own job that gives me fixed amount of income. However, if we can do both to see growth in our finances, that would always be possible. We need to keep our job in order to finance our bitcoin investment or any type of investment that we have desires to enter into.
1006  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Other Alternatives to Borrowing Money to Start Trading on: May 21, 2023, 12:24:15 PM
For newbies, compounding a $10 crypto trading investment means reinvesting the profit from your initial $10 capital in the same asset, such as bitcoin, to generate an increase in returns over time. So the $10 may compound over time, and you can get $100 in returns. It requires patience, just as trading does.

This is the best alternative to loaning money to kickstart your trading journey. What are the other alternatives you know?

It is not as easy as you think because getting 10x your capital will require a lot of patience, which I am sure a new trader cannot afford to wait for because the money is too small.

Although borrowing money to start your crypto journey is not advisable, instead of going through a lot of patience to raise $100 with $10, I would prefer to borrow some money to start my trading journey and take the little profit I will get as my future capital after paying back the loan.
Borrowing money is not really a bad idea as long as you have a fixed and stable income that will pay for it. And if you are just starting to trade, then always start a small amount that you can easily manage to lose. Although compounding would free you from taking a loan, but be reminded that in trading, there’s no guaranteed profit consistency, regardless if it’s very small, making profits is not that easy especially if you are still trying to manage and control your emotions with the highly volatile market. And it’s hard to tell actually if your patience would be sustainable to wait for that long until your profits become 10x from your capital. The reason why most beginner traders take loans instead than to stick into compounding.
1007  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we stop living for the weekend? Escaping the 9-5 life. on: May 21, 2023, 11:49:24 AM
What is keeping many people from living a full free life without being tied to a particular job that only gives you 2 days off per week is the means, if you can not afford such life style then you must one way or the other work to sustain your livelihood.
Right now there is nothing more i need than leave my job completely but my income is not going to sustain me much if i don't have a steady income stream, so what to do  Huh
Many people want it but only few can afford to leave that way.
Right now, the more side hustles and investments that are introduced to us, the more eager we want to leave our jobs completely. I know most of the 8-hour job workers here would agree to that. However, if we are the breadwinner in the family, leaving our job is the hardest part. That was my personal experience before. But I realized it’s really up to us how we will change our mindset and take some risks. So I decided to get out from my comfort zone and now I’m living my life the way I always imagined before. Though I’m not really making that huge profits, but what I earned today is much better than what I used to earn way back when I was a full time company employee.
1008  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling is a choice. on: May 21, 2023, 11:09:33 AM

My thoughts, is this how we often feel when we lose out on a bet??
Do you wish the site can refund your money??
No casino will refund your money under any circumstances when you bet and you lose, you lose, it's your choice that you bet and lose your money your being irresponsible causes you to lose your money a casino will just offer you to play

Quote
Gambling should be your choice, you shouldn't let anyone compel or persuade you into it.
You should be responsible enough to think for yourself, even if you are persuaded or asked to play whatever outcome you should accept, what if you hit the jackpot and won a lot of money you will be thankful that they persuade or asked you to play.
Gambling is always a choice and if ever you’re being lured to gamble, then you should be responsible enough whatever the outcome of your decision. And to note that gambling is more on losing than gaining profits, so it’s already an initiative to never gamble an amount that you can’t manage to lose. I guess the lady is a first time gambler and she has no idea that gambling could emptied her pocket when all she believes that gambling will give her huge profits after consistent betting.
1009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I got my stubborn neighbour working for a central bank to adopt Bitcoin on: May 20, 2023, 09:57:35 PM
You know you have done your part OP. It's a good thing that you're knowledgeable enough to defend Bitcoin against fiat supporter. However, always know that you're not oblige to convince that man, or anyone else in this world. But as long as they have now understand the real purpose and potentials of Bitcoin, then that could stop them from hating Bitcoin based on their misconception.
1010  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you still advised more buy and store? on: May 20, 2023, 09:11:28 PM
At this current bitcoin price of only $30k, there is no reason why I would stop my monthly DCA. My next plan is on the 11th, hopefully, the price will be down a little by then. The price of bitcoin is not even half of its previous ATH. I doubt bitcoin reaches $60k this year and so I guess my DCA will continue throughout the year or maybe even until next year.

This is just a rare opportunity for us. Bitcoin halving only happens every 4 years and that is long enough to wait for the next one. Besides, bitcoin's growth when it stays consistent at the trillion dollar market cap might become slower compared to today and the past years.
DCA will always be the best option. Why bother to stop when you see and believe that there is great future of bitcoin especially that halving is fast approaching. Also, even if your income is just fixed, that won’t hinder you from storing more of bitcoin in your portfolio. They say if there’s a will, there’s a way. You only have to set your expenses stick to your budget, and as much as possible, even DCAing should also be in your budget list too.

1011  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The biggest No while trading on: May 20, 2023, 07:50:53 PM
Trading will be more favorable too you when you have a system/strategy that works for you, but no matter how perfect you feel your system/strategy is,

Don't ever trade under pressure. pressure to pay off a debt,
pressure to pay your rent/ Bill's.

I till repeat, Don't ever trade
under pressure
because no matter how you do, that pressure will make you do the following,

- over trading: once you start over trading while under pressure,  your decision making will be very poor.

Trading under pressure is a bad habit, especially when someone is doing it to meet their needs, as you mentioned like to pay bills or pay off debt. In these situations, someone will undoubtedly be desperate to make a profit large enough to cover their expenses, and from that mindset, they will likely become upset and may then make poor decisions. Pressure should not only be avoided in trading but in all facets of life as well, as it causes significant tension that can result in frustration.
However, pressures are sometimes unavoidable, so it’s best not to trade at that moment. It’s the only way you will get to avoid losses, otherwise you continue to experience pressure and prolong your loss experience. Also, never trade when you have no stable source of income in the first place. Trading will only give you pressures if you do that. Especially if you use money to trade to pay bills later on, surely it will cause a big trouble in the future.
1012  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can copy trading be profitable on: May 19, 2023, 09:59:28 PM
Is copy trading worth it

Can I make 20$ per day if I have 2000$
Yes, it’s worth the money provided that you copy trade from a professional trader. Because if they can be consistent in their profits, you will also experience the same. However, if you don’t care to improve your craft because you became dependent to others, then how would you be sustainable in trading if you start trading using your own expertise? I think that will be very impossible if you keep on relying to other trades. Trading is not an avenue to be dependent from others, but it’s an avenue where you can improve your knowledge and hone your skills and expertise based from your own experiences, and not from other traders losses and mistakes.
1013  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you spend more-do you get more? on: May 19, 2023, 09:29:43 PM
There is an opinion that the more money you spend, the more you get in return, it is interesting to find out who really works in this direction. I spend enough money, but I have a fixed income, therefore I will not be able to get more. I don't have rich relatives, and I don't expect an inheritance either. I want to get rich, not to deny myself, but I have to save on everything. Who really faced big expenses and received even more? How does it work, maybe I don't understand the essence of it correctly?
You don’t have to force yourself to spend more than of your income, that will not make you rich but it will clearly put you into debt. Even in an investment, bigger capital does not guarantee high returns too. So the safest way is just to spend or invest an amount that you can afford to lose. However, if you apply this condition to helping others, well it’s really true the more you give, the more you receive. But know that we should not always expect returns from others because that will only disappoint us if ever.
1014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: May 19, 2023, 09:00:00 PM
Earning money online is far superior to working at a physical establishment during the day. Although offline is highly appreciated and difficult. Trading is a great approach to find your true self. It will put everything to the test, including your greed, emotions, patience, discipline, how you handle failure, control, common sense, and resolve. I strongly advise anyone who is going through a terrible time in their life to learn to trade since it provides them a clear sense of purpose other than waiting for jobs. So, which is better, online or offline?
Trading may be profitable but it also depends on one’s skills and strategies. And even if everyone is free to trade, but not everyone is meant to trade. Some are just good at the start, but when losses strike them, they eventually resort into quitting thinking that it’s the best way to stop their losses. However, we can’t deny that trading is paying us tenfolds compared to offline jobs, but know that trading has its high risks and anyone decides to trade should have a bigger preparation so that they won’t be trading only for a loss, but to make their trades worth the money and efforts and so it needs to be productive and successful.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST TIMEZONE FOR SPORTsBETTING on: May 18, 2023, 12:07:18 PM
Thank you for starting this discussion, but personally, it doesn't matter to me. I can gamble in the morning or at night. What's important is that I can watch the games I'm betting on. I enjoy both pre-game betting and live betting, where I place bets during the game. To be honest, I don't find this data relevant to gamblers because, as gamblers, we're here to have fun and we make sure to gamble at times when we feel comfortable.
1016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2.4% People from Bangladesh Hold Cryptocurrency on: May 18, 2023, 11:30:50 AM
They were hinting Bangladesh may legalize Crypto within 2/3 years. Maybe finally, it's happening.

More people will hold Bitcoin when it is legalized because the fact that lots of people are already holding Bitcoin despite no assurance of its future legalization indicates that these individuals recognize the importance of Bitcoin as an asset and as a payment system for transactions. Government intervention is likely when it comes to legalization, but since Bitcoin is decentralized, it will outperform all centralized payment systems that are expensive in transaction fees and may be unreliable in the future. This will create a demand that will benefit the holders.
1017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 17, 2023, 12:52:29 PM
Here's the updated Lakers vs Nuggets series odds.

You see the betting odds for the Lakers? They are quite high, offering a significant payout if they end up winning the series.

This presents another opportunity for those who have confidence in the Lakers, especially since they are only down 1 game in the series.

A good opportunity to earn if you are a Lakers believer, the odd is very sweet if you think they can still win this one.

Not a Nuggets fan here, but the winning chance is really good for them as they've got all the core and role players who are playing
all the best that they know about winning games.

We all witness that from both past series against Wolves and Suns, let see if they can continue that strong game and lead there
way to the finals.

I believe the Lakers have a chance to win the series, although we can currently say that the odds are against them. However, considering how they were able to come back from a significant deficit, it makes me think that the Lakers can give the Nuggets a tough series. Let's say the Nuggets win Game 2, but it's not over yet, as the Lakers have been dominant at home. We saw a similar scenario in the Nuggets vs Suns series, where both teams won two games on their home courts, but unfortunately, the Suns had a very bad game in Game 6, resulting in their elimination.
1018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 17, 2023, 11:37:14 AM

Despite being a huge underdog, it's worth taking a risk on the Heat because we know they won't give up easily. They reached the NBA Finals in the bubble, and Butler has been delivering the best playoff performance of his career this offseason. I'm confident he won't be stopped by the Celtics. The Heat are playing with great discipline, and everyone is contributing to their defensive efforts.

So, why not? Let's go Heat!

The Heat has been in this situation before and surely they know what they were lacking in their past games against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals last season they will more likely gonna change their rotations and will gonna do the right thing this time. they are the real torn for the Celtics to get back to the NBA finals once again this year and they really need to work harder to beat this healthy Miami Heat.
The Heat have faced a similar situation in the first round and managed to defeat the Bucks. However, it's worth noting that the Bucks weren't fully healthy as Giannis missed a couple of games due to injury. On the other hand, the Celtics are currently at full strength, making it a tougher battle in the ECF. Nevertheless, I still have faith in the Heat to put up a good fight. It wouldn't surprise me if this series goes to a game 7, and the Heat come out victorious on the road.

Quote
Since the Lakers have already beaten the GSW my attention is on this one because these teams will not gonna give an easy win to each other, especially in this first game of this series.
The attention is currently focused on the Lakers vs Denver series, and the result of the first game has put Denver ahead in the series. The Lakers have a significant fan base that may be disappointed if they get eliminated.

1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 16, 2023, 12:25:24 PM
i feel that Devin Haney is entering his prime. even though he is entering his prime, i do not trust his power yet, he still has a lot to prove.

A lot to prove indeed. Haney is one hell of a lucky guy, he got those belts without exerting too much effort, I mean beating Kambosos for those belts was not the way the boxing community want for Haney but it is what it is and now is the time for him to prove that he belongs in the top by beating Loma (the real champion for me) convincingly for him to earn the respect of the boxing fanatics.

This is going to be a very technical fight but not boring though because Loma loves to attack and I hope he will be aggressive early on to compile points as a knockout is a slim possibility in this matchup.

Fives days more to go, still got Loma in my mind to win this match  Cool.

Same here, I believe Loma will win, and I'm happy about that because he is the underdog, which means betting on him to win would be profitable. Meanwhile, Haney has to prove that he can defeat a highly technical fighter. The same challenge applies to Loma as people believe he is past his prime.

This fight is like a chess match, making it difficult to predict the winner. As you mentioned, it's a technical fight, but it's not boring, so I can't wait to see this match.
