1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 23, 2023, 02:28:59 AM
So how about you, do you really expect that the current line up of Gilas will bag a gold in the FIBA world cup?

If we are being realistic, no one will ever think that Philippines will bag the gold at FIBA World cup. We are miles away from the strong countries in basketball. It is our passion but the skill is still lacking. We do not have a good program that could develop players from the grass root.

I do not expect much but I hope they at least give a good fight in the group stage. Maybe get a win to move to the next level. That would be the best that could happen. I just do not want to see our country lose very poorly against their opponent in the group stage. At least make it as exciting as the games in the 2014 world cup. We did not win a game in that World cup but at least the world got a glimpse of our brand of basketball and how exciting it is.

That's a realistic assessment, as it can be challenging to reach the same level as the top teams in certain sports leagues. Take, for example, the PBA, which is one of the oldest basketball leagues in Asia. Despite its history and significance, it may not currently be on par with other popular leagues like the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) or the B League in Japan, so it's really hard to expect that gold.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 23, 2023, 01:55:18 AM
The king is taking over. He has already scored 31 points in the first half, shooting an impressive 11-13 from the field and making all four of his three-point attempts. It's evident that this is shaping up to be his night. However, it is important to hope that the Nuggets won't spoil it in the second half. The current score stands at 58-73. Given the Nuggets' ability to stage comebacks, it is crucial for the team to maintain a strong and relentless performance as if there's no tomorrow. Considering that LeBron has played the full first half,  he might experience some fatigue in the final quarter.
1083  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin continue to rise on: May 22, 2023, 09:22:50 PM
Op you don't have to worry yourself, just calm down and continue the investment. And don't be afraid. When you discovered that the price is coming down to expectation then you have to stop selling and acquire as much as possible. Time is coming that the price of bitcoin will shock the whole world. If the price of bitcoin reduce to $15,000 again as it was last year, it will be a nice time to buy as many as one can if only there is money to buy more. Then when the price goes up then you make your profit.
Perhaps, it is good advice and instead of having worried too much, why not build our trust since we know that a lot of people are also trusting this coin?

While understanding the volatility of Bitcoin and of what it has shown in the past years, it is clear to see that Bitcoin is keep on rising and spreading globally which means that it has a brighter future. Might we experience a price drop in the past few weeks but can possibly change direction in the coming days as well? Only we need to wait and extend our patience as we are not in control of the market and so many factors that affect the trend.
1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things that still make feel awkward with some online casinos on: May 20, 2023, 03:16:12 PM
Why are some online gambling platforms having high withdrawal fee? I know Bitcoin recently has a high transaction fee but that's no more right now, some online casinos are still asking for 5$ per transaction when it should be 1$ or less.

Not just only Bitcoin withdrawal, even coins with very low transaction fee, isn't this robbery? If you just signed up on a centralized exchange, you can pretend as if you want to withdraw, to know how much the gas fee costs, but on online casino, you will see this only after you have enough wins or funds for withdrawal.
In short, they are charging you more because you are using them. But when mempool is full, it's just practical to put more money for fees so you'll get them faster. This used to be a problem mainly with exchange withdraw fees. And still is going to be depending on the mempool.

But there are casinos that charge basically nothing compared to your experience so feel free to shop around. Stake gets my vote with 7k sats btc fee.
They were supposed not to be doing that way, that was robbery on the gambler's side. Even if they are using the said platform, they should not the network congestion as an excuse to charge the gambler otherwise, that casino should be ignored. Of course, I don't have to stick to such a platform when I know they are overcharging and milking me. Maybe if that is just an option to fasten our transaction, that can be considered but if not, that is something we need to know more about. Maybe $2 is a little bit acceptable but for $5, that seems unfair.
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose altcoins you buy? on: May 20, 2023, 01:48:04 PM
 - market performance
 - exchanges where it was listed
 - has use-case

All of these things are enough to say if that project is worth investing or not. Might most of us have the same criteria but it's up to you OP if you dare to follow it because, at the end of the day, you are the one who decides. And of course, you can't blame other people for whatever happens in your investment. I suggest that you take the courage, no risk = no gain...
1086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest in BTC? on: May 20, 2023, 01:10:22 PM
When there was an increase in the price of bitcoin in 2021 and at that time the price was more than $ 60k, many regretted not buying when the price was cheap, they dreamed of buying when the price could drop again to around $ 50k, but when the price fell to $ 50k then they still delaying because they hope the price will continue to fall, usually people who hope the price will decrease to buy, this will not happen because when the price drops, they will be afraid to buy because the price continues to fall.
fear and anxiety when buying is something that newbie investors always have because they don't have a strong foundation or reason why they are buying bitcoin, if it goes on like this then they will never buy bitcoin at any time.  to buy bitcoin requires the right reasons and good mental preparation, so when the market moves very volatile, it will not affect the overall psychological condition.  Besides that, i don't like people who expect to get rich quick in bitcoin, especially beginners traders, you should not start trading bitcoin if you have these expectations.
It is hard to build confidence in something that we really don't have experience and enough market knowledge, doubts and uncertainties come out. If someone asks "What is the good time to invest", I will tell that person if he really understands what is trying to do. Because what I want to happen is to push them to explore the market first before investing. And from that situation, they will know and discover how volatile is the market and decide if they want to continue or not.
1087  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is this considered a safe practice on: May 20, 2023, 12:21:48 PM
If the gambling company is well-reputable, then spending that kind of amount to reach the bonuses may be a good idea to save money in the future.
That is definitely be frowned upon considering it's gambling and there's no certainties that you can win and save money on those bonuses. Let us say you collected a staggering bonus yet you're on a loss, that for sure will be a bad practice. Moreover, banks doesn't consider gambling for credit score.

And I agree with that, it is not worth enough to risk just for the sake of getting bonuses because, in the end, they'll take you back and even lose more.

I don't look much on that anyway. I've practice not doing that because it will entice us to spend and gamble more, we're probably losing control of our funds and ruining our limitations. We'd rather be using our savings instead of credit card in gambling, a piece of advice (OP).
1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins airdrops you received so far for the year 2023 on: May 20, 2023, 11:33:35 AM
I was doing this before but just gained less interest this year due to disappointments experience and got lost of its track.
However, I was still excited to see and heard people from their experience these days. For my opion, aidrops is bad, not all of them are worthless but can't expect from them as well to have a huge value in the market.
Earning $45 from airdrop is already a big gift for you OP while some are just valued $0 where it only stuck on our wallet and no idea when it become tradable in the market.
1089  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling is a choice. on: May 20, 2023, 10:55:59 AM

It can be a strategy - the gambler can make risky bets with high odds to get big prize. It is possible situation and even i have a friend who doesn`t bet if the odd less 2.5. Of course his win rate is about average, but as he says - he has surplus in his bets. The problem if the gambler tries to return his money and increase risk and bets. And of course you have to make a research before bet.
I think your friend has a high commitment in every bet he chooses even though the risk is high but I'm sure he is good at analyzing and predicting overall.
Choosing odds 2 over it is the right choice for him because he usually already has a way to recover the losses if there is a surprise or your friend chooses on the main sports bet or on the favorite club?
But even though it's too risky it has become a choice.
He was very confident with his bets and he chose them. And I believe that it was not the first he do this for sure, but it was been used many times and probably earned some money from it and so he keep doing that. It is not just a choice but it was his strategy. He for sure knows what will happen to him and no reason he would blame others for his loss.
As a gambler, I know what strategy works for me but of course, we have to accept that not all the time works, losses are still possible in gambling no matter what we do.
1090  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Big secret you wouldn't be told on: May 19, 2023, 09:46:35 PM
The big secret of making it big in cryptocurrency which I honestly wish I got to know at the very beginning of my crypto journey is
- having more than one source of income.

~
Having multiple sources of income is actually a great idea but if you are just considering crypto alone and spreading your funds there, I don't think I have to consider it as multiple sources of income. Because what I understand about multiple sources of income is that it comes from different areas like from crypto, business, job, etc. Though you are talking about different areas still it was all inside crypto and must know that trading isn't that really reliable. You're really making a good journey in the crypto space but never saying this will work for everyone, especially trading.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to stake your crypto currency on: May 19, 2023, 09:26:14 PM
Its very hard for me to trust any of those staking options out there except natives. Trust wallet staking is something I could consider with low amount of coins, probably not something more than 200 dollars. I think best thing is to do there is buying a ledger cold wallet and staking through it. Options on ledger live's staking are very limited but someone holding altcoins would prefer to stake coins like ethereum, polkadot, aptos etc anyways. Proof of stake coins are far easy to stake and I favor them over any other staking methods personally. I will stake ethereum for next bull run.
I've got the point when staking as it needs trust as well. And it is very important that OP must know the risk and the consequences that might he encounter from staking, especially for new exchanges. But if he uses a known and reputable exchange like Binance, that seems to lessen the risk. In fact, many investors are doing this and they are not complaining about the loss of their funds so we can say that it was safe. But yes, it was safer if we take care of our funds personally, and besides, staking never gives us a huge percentage of returns.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 19, 2023, 11:21:34 AM
This means their bench is not really playing that hard. Russell and Walker especially who we remembered became heroes in their series against the Warriors.
Now, it's just Rui who did great help and that's because he is not settling for outside shots. Lebron should do that too but I think he was dragged by the raining threes of Murray and Porter and want to answer back. A big mistake.
I may still bet for the Nuggets in Game 3.

During the Warriors vs Lakers game, it was the Lakers who controlled the paint, while the Warriors controlled the outside shooting. Now, it's different because the Nuggets have both inside and outside offense, and they are also a good rebounding team. It's another matchup and another strategy that the coaching staff is employing. So far, it's the Nuggets who are winning games. However, in the last two games, there's a chance that the Lakers could win the game; they have just been unlucky. But don't worry, this series is far from over.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 19, 2023, 05:44:07 AM
It appears that we won't be seeing the Lakers vs. Celtics NBA Finals this postseason.

If the Heat win again tomorrow, it would be a significant setback for the Celtics, and their chances of a comeback might diminish. It's crucial for the Celtics to win convincingly tomorrow, preferably with a blowout victory, as it's a must-win game for them. In terms of the betting spread, the Celtics are favored by -9 tomorrow. To be cautious, you could consider betting on the first half, expecting the Celtics to have a strong start.
1094  Economy / Speculation / Re: Know your time to HOLD on: May 18, 2023, 09:54:07 PM
snipped...
We are still in bear market, so no, the price will not go on parabolic rise. Are you really sure you want to hold long term? because for me it sounds like you wanted to get a good profit right away.

No offense mate, but HODLing is a tough game, you need to prepare yourself to just grind day in, day out, buy every week and protect it in your wallet. So if I were you, just do DCA and continue to accumulate regardless of the price, in my opinion. And see how it goes for you after the block halving next year.
Holding is really hard at the start, negative emotions are gonna make us think "of not doing it". But if we really have the goal to do it and a good reason, nothing is impossible. But in the situation with OP and based on his statement, you are probably right, it was difficult for him to hold when our minds is not syncing on it as it only fails in the end. If we can't control our emotions, never be going to expect that Holding can be easy to achieve instead, we gonna expect this would end our journey in crypto.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Only 89 days left for Litecoin Halving event! on: May 18, 2023, 09:32:53 PM
Similar to Bitcoin, Litecoin block halving event takes place every 4 years. 2023 is the year when it will happen again. The current block reward is 12.5 LTC which will be reduced to 6.25 LTC. Initial block halving happened in 2011 and the reward was 50 LTC.

The last halving which happened in 2019 did not have a big impact on the price of Litecoin. Do you think this year's halving will have any impact on the price? If yes, then how much will be the target price?

And still, the same things happen as before, it creates little to no impact on its price rather than thinking that causes a larger effect like Bitcoin halving. It is because only a few people have an interest in this project and that volume isn't big enough to drag the market demand and increase it. Even this time as it is very close to its halving date, only a few people know about it. Therefore, it was difficult to say that this would have a huge impact because people are not buying this coin.

I'd rather be expecting its price to pump during the bull season, not during its halving.
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People with quick rich attitude always mess up with alt coins on: May 18, 2023, 01:37:01 PM
I have mentioned multiple times in past here that people should be cautious with alt coins. If some coin has moved up like 100% or more in just 24 hours, it does not mean that you should also purchase the coin. You should first understand the reason behind prices moving up. Then, you should also analyze the benefits and demerits of the project.

Does everyone is reading what you have posted in the forum or does everyone hear from you? Unfortunately, not all, and even though some people read it, still commit mistakes by investing useless coins due to the influence of social media and some known personalities. I would say that no matter what we do, things like this will happen to someone else, especially for greedy people as it was hard for them to think twice. They can make decisions right away without thinking about the possible risk and losses that awaits them. And yes, it really happens...
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 18, 2023, 11:52:28 AM
Tomorrow, we have the Nuggets vs. Lakers game 2.

The spread is -5.5 in favor of the home team, with a total of 227 points.

Last time, it resulted in a push as the Nuggets were -6 during game time. However, this time, I don't think the line will move, so it's better to choose our sides now. I'm thinking the Nuggets will still win at home and might cover the spread. I know the Lakers were able to find a solution to their problem in the second half of game 1, but I'm also confident that the Nuggets will make adjustments.

Regarding the total score, I'm going under.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there play and pay later casinos? on: May 18, 2023, 05:57:10 AM
As far as I know, you cannot borrow funds directly from an online casino. Perhaps your friend was referring to borrowing money at a land-based casino. In some cases, there may be loan sharks or individuals who lend money to gamblers at high interest rates. However, it's important to note that borrowing money from loan sharks can be risky and potentially dangerous, especially if you are unable to repay the debt. These types of loans are typically unsecured and may put your safety at risk. It's always advisable to avoid getting involved with such arrangements and to practice responsible gambling.
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can NFTs last forever? on: May 17, 2023, 10:08:23 PM
I'd see people are happy before when buying NFT projects but for now, I really don't think we can see smile on their faces, probably regrets.
But what I take is that this NFT project will last for a long-time. Unfortunately, we can't also think that it was valuable, it was just your crypto collections instead. If we are thinking of a profit, we should not consider them on our list, they are dying actually. In fact, many people who buy them during their time/season can no longer sell them, nobody is buying this stuff actually.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 17, 2023, 11:31:33 AM
The problem of current Lomachenko - he isnt hungry anymore. He has been boxing among pros for 10 years already. He has won European and World championship golden medals. While some people dream to get Olympic gold medal, Lomachenko got two of them. Not to mention all those belts he has got among professionals. He has achieved almost everything, he has earned a lot of money already, have lovely family. Compared to Haney, Loma has already "seen life, got everything". I really doubt that Loma needs and wants all that fights.

He may got everything that you said above but this fight has so much at stake for him. The unified title is what he is hoping for and this is what motivates him for this fight plus the fact that he is the underdog on this, this might be an additional motivation for him because seldom we see Loma becomes an underdog in his professional bout.

And because of that, it's important to seize this opportunity and bet on him with those attractive odds. Loma is going to make sure it's not going to be easy for Haney. We understand that Haney is a smart boxer, but I believe he hasn't faced a boxer as intelligent as Loma. Despite Loma's age, which some may consider him an older boxer, we might be surprised on fight night. Let's watch, see, and enjoy this highly anticipated big fight.
