1961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 16, 2022, 11:45:47 AM
^^ Really hard to digest what really happen to the Lakers last season and how it become toxic. Although it was really evident that in the beginning, something is not right as even in the pre-season with all eyes on them and high expectations there were already signs that it might not work and that what happen. And then Lebron injured himself and so is AD, Russ games didn't flourish, the supporting cast is not performing as expected etc etc. There is no single point of failure, just a culmination of bad timing and maybe bad decisions.
They don't have good supporting cast because they traded the ones that were really a big piece of the success of the Lakers. Now, they realize that they don't really need another superstar, in fact, Lebron and AD is enough because both have already won a championship together with the Lakers.
They should have let go Rondo and Green with them, these two has good impact not just on the regular and playoffs season but they contribute to championship too, their experience is already there. I don't think they need Russ and Anthony on the first place, that was just a show from LeBron I guess, they don't want that championship last season.
Anthony and Russ did not help the Lakers, they are just hype because of their names but the system of the Lakers does not really fit with these two. Imagine, a coach that brough the Lakers a championship was fired because the Lakers are not doing well after, I think the organization made a mistake, they could just trade some players and just keep the system of the Lakers to be effective.
1962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 16, 2022, 11:20:52 AM
DYIP is still winless, lose again by double-digit against ROS.

Final score ROS 97 vs DYIP 82.
They had a good game against SMB last game but in this game they are playing the old ways.

Losing streak is still active.
1963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know a good bounty on: July 16, 2022, 10:37:00 AM
Talking about bounties, nobody could assure that was a good bounty until it was proven.
A lot of bounties that I've joined before during those days when it was really profitable (2016-2018), yet the sudden change has come after that year as the majority of them are turn scammy and make me stop joining them.

 * transparency
 * known developers
 * liquidity

All we think is that it was fine and we can assure that it will succeed but somehow, it was very unfortunate that many of these like are doing an exit scam, some are just gone.
1964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUD Has Finally Taken Its Toll on Me on: July 16, 2022, 10:13:22 AM
Three weeks ago, I liquidated 10k from my stock portfolio into my bank account. My plan was to dump it into Bitcoin as soon as it dipped under 17k. But now, for the first time since I got into crypto investing in 2017, I'm having major doubts.

I'm beginning to wonder whether Bitcoin has a long-term future, now that much of the world's nations are caught up in this 'climate' hysteria, and want to ban proof-of-work protocols, like Bitcoin, which they claim is harmful to the environment.

You have some reason - of course, you can make us if it as a basis for leaving crypto forever. In fact, we are not obliged to invest and adopt Bitcoin, and we did this before because of our willingness to take risks. If this Bitcoin never gives you comfort and safety of your funds, I suggest choosing the option that you think was right and makes you feel at ease. But for me, I'm still buying and holding Bitcoin as I'd see the fortune of this project.

Things can be changed someday and we can find a way to continue Bitcoin mining without harming the environment.
1965  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Reasons why there's an Increasing Crypto Scam Rate on: July 15, 2022, 10:08:07 PM
You have all the possible reasons OP but it guesses what, we can't still stop people from getting scammed. Scammers are targeting greedy people and those hungry for money as they can easily manipulate their minds. These people can easily forget about scams as they are focused on money and listen to what these scammers told and promise to them.

As this kind of behavior exists, scammers can still continue their doing, and scam rates increase. As many people engage in social media and online activities, it is easy for these scammers to take action and trick people.
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice from a stranger on: July 15, 2022, 09:39:14 PM
Is it true that new altcoins are the best to invest in right now? Someone said you can easily make better profits from new projects than investing in old altcoins that have already x their values already, what do you think? Good or bad idea.
Did someone say you? You can just follow what he said but you did also some research. As I always said that new the majority of these new projects are not reliable, no use-case, how could this project succeed and stay long-term? We'd rather invest in the old projects as we know already that they can be trusted and has a working product as this is one reason to feel safe and have some profit assurance when it pumps, unlike these new projects that most of them are scam. Don't get attached to "gaining more and more, doubling your money, and quick rich scheme" as it was just a trick.
1967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 15, 2022, 10:25:35 AM

This could be good to see if Fortuna will pursue and man his words, surely a toe-to-toe fight is what the people wanted to see and we will see if Ryan have some improvement this time.

I hope so because that is the only way for this to be an entertaining fight. Ryan Garcia is surely the heavy favorite, but who knows, upset could happen in boxing anytime, so it's not a guaranteed win by Garcia if Fortuna will show that he can match the skills of Garcia.
1968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 15, 2022, 10:01:39 AM
Magnolia vs Meralco, this is a great game, both are tied in the standing I guess, so let's see who will win.

I am leaning on the Magnolia because of their good defense and more consistent than Magnolia.
It's still a close game, those who like to bet on the game live, it's your chance to do it now.
1969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT drops profitable? on: July 14, 2022, 11:42:10 PM
As time goes by, especially when prices are dropping everywhere, it is indeed very difficult to say that NFT is still worth it for now.
They grow because the hype is indeed very fast in its pace but on the other hand this fast hype stops quickly.
I haven't even seen a good NFT project for a few months this week.
The market is in need of new things. If people are being feed with the same thing for a long it won't interest them. People need different things, and such an effort is the NFT. Initially it feels tasty due to the hype, but very few lasts whereas the majority go valueless. Even now it is possible to see different NFTs around, but to own an NFT that is worthy we need to be lucky or else we should have the perfect knowledge to estimate the market for the specific NFT.
This is a problem that we face in the future and it happens that this will be the reason why people haven't seen crypto as a good investment anymore. We don't need hyped projects, new projects as they are the reason why many people lose their money investing in non-sustainable projects. We aim for a long-term investment that could give us profit but getting messed with these NFTs, it turns out like being hopeless. If this is the result that we can see, better not to have them at all.
1970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 14, 2022, 11:04:05 PM

It create huge demand because many people got afraid on what will happen to their coins stored their since there are scenarios that exchange scam or hold the balances of their users for long years. And people cannot afford that it will happen to them that's why this series of events is not surprising because many people want to secure their funds and wait until the bull run came safely.
Perhaps, the idea of moving your funds into a more secure wallet which is a hardware wallet has been gaining more recommendations and suggestions. As if you are a bag holder and of having a huge amount of Bitcoin your mind now is to think to find a safe wallet to protect it and seeing/hearing people talking about hardware wallets gives them an interest and this is what is happening now. This is not actually surprising for I know that this will come as the market continue to develop where new technology could possibly hit the market. Imagine how these computers have been a growing industry.
1971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 14, 2022, 01:37:06 PM

Yeah, and hopefully Ryan will win, but there are certain cases wherein a cherry pick fighter destroys the favorite.
That's very rare in boxing, and we all know that Ryan Garcia is still in his prime while Fortuna is not a popular fighter. Well, you are right, we don't know the result but this cherry picking of opponent could have been over if the fight prior to this was win impressively by Garcia, and if his opponent came to fight, it's just unfortunate he only came to survive, not to win.
1972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 14, 2022, 12:48:07 PM

Casimero and Ancajas are now the bright prospects of bringing glory to the PH in the world of boxing.

I think Casimero is now the best fighter in the Philippines, if only his title was not stripped, he could fight Inoue and we will see how far Inoue could go against him. I believe that Casimero will become a champion soon, and we will have a Filipino champion to follow again.

Filipino boxers are so unlucky this year.

Casimero
Magsayo
Donaire.

They all lose their title this year.
1973  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A newbie with 100$ on: July 13, 2022, 01:21:58 PM
You should be realistic and dont dream that one day these $100 will turn into a million. Even a thousand is questionable. But $100 is a good start and invaluable experience. Just remember, cryptocurrency is all about patience, long term, cold head. Try to think that $100 is an entrance ticked to new world. This $100 will hook you up and force learning new. Who knows, maybe you are a great at making analysis and predictions, maybe you are cool at trading.
That's right and besides, investing in crypto would take more time before we earn a profit and much more with that small amount. But yeah, as a beginner, we don't need to start with a huge amount, it was just a sort of market trial to test our capability as well on how to manage risk and stress.

Just to remind OP that not all investment works so well on the first day, on the first trial...but as we keep on learning, doing research - building such habit will help us to reach our goal and even grow our $100.
1974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 13, 2022, 12:03:35 PM
No other way but to go up, I hope he can still bring the power and he can bounce back from a bad lose against Kambasos. I've seen enough of Teofimo Lopez, IMO, he is not a discipline boxer so I'd go with Pedro Campa to win here.
1975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 13, 2022, 11:30:29 AM
It's business but lower teams are not pursuing having a good and competitive team because even if they do, they can't match SMC and MVPs offered contracts and players will choose to play for top teams instead as benefits are awesome.

Speaking of Ray Parks, who do you think is better, Ray Parks or Mikey Williams?

The past and the current, and TNT now has won a championship with Mikey Williams but never won with Ray Parks.
But for individual comparison, who do you think is better?

The one that won a championship is better, PERIOD.

By the way, Meralco seemed to be winning again and they will beat a big fish which is the Ginebra.

No more come back with few minutes left in the game, Meralco is already up 15 points with less than 8 minutes in the 4th quarter.
1976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum’s failure to close above $1.3K on: July 12, 2022, 11:01:08 PM
And it only gets worse now,,, I actually thought ETH would not follow Bitcoin down this weekend too, specifically because of the successful testnet merge where everything really seemed to go according to plan.
That certainly I won't believe, always and I think it was forever to see altcoins will follow the trend of Bitcoin and ETH have no excuse from that.
It could be hard for the testnet to go successful this time, as if they want then they have to move it during the bull season as the chance is higher than of these days.
Quote
The other scenario is bulls want the bears to win and pull price down below 1000 again -- dip and surge to 1300 is instant 30% gain, and very easy to happen with these levels.
We can't underestimate the market, the bear still has influence and is hard to defeat. Yet, we are still hopeful for the growing success of ETH someday, we just need the market to recover, not this testnet, etc.
1977  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret buying before the dip on: July 12, 2022, 10:29:32 PM
Well, I can understand the nature of the market, and missing the right time to buy is somewhat regretting but yes we know the market is unpredictable in the first that is why we still need to accept it. But for sure, that was not the last drop that ever happens, we can still catch the next dip and buy. That was really how the market works, you can be all the time lucky, but sometimes we miss opportunities.

This is the reason why it is very important to analyze the market and spending more time will help us on what we gonna do next.
1978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 11, 2022, 08:21:50 AM
Just finished watching this documentary for Steph Curry titled "Silenced" by Trice High.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZuWSiWQLN0
If you are a Curry fan this will touch your heart and will feel the enormous weight that was lifted in Steph Curry's shoulder after being bashed and criticized about how he won't be back to the championship and how he cannot bring a team to the top.
The title was spot on. That's the correct word to define it all. Inspiring for NBA players that are aiming for the same goal.
"What are they going to say now?"

Thanks for the link, I will watch it later though.

But if you see Curry's emotional outburst after game 6, you will feel that something has been lifted in his shoulder winning the NBA this season when there have been a lot of chatters and noise behind team. He is not that vocal though, it as Green but they have walk the talk and so they silence all their critics with this huge win. For sure they will have to find another one just to bash or harsh critic them at the start of the new season, specially if they started on a bad note because the supporting cast has all gone now.

Curry is a great player, he will be a Hall of Famer as he continues to get better. I saw him complain when he loses in some games, instead, it only makes him stronger to make his team better. Warriors will never forget him, he will continue to make this team a championship team and I like to see Curry retire with the Warriors as he continues to make history.

I will also watch that documentary later, thanks.
1979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin the only option left on: July 09, 2022, 11:47:19 AM
To be fair, bitcoin is an excellent long-term investment and investing in altcoins are not necessarily bad either. However, altcoins are subject to many risks, such as hacks, crashes...so you can also invest in altcoins but remember to only invest small amount, like gambling for fun and allow it to be lost without affecting your sleep. For serious investments, bitcoin is the best choice in the crypto market.
No doubt about Bitcoin but can't just ignore the potential of altcoins like ETH as well. Just what I did with my portfolio, 60-70% is Bitcoin still, some altcoins got some space on my portfolio to know that they are somewhat profitable as well even during the bear season. I'd never think this was a wrong idea but saying it was right (just for me).

Anyways, it is very important that we know what we are doing. Earning a profit in couldn't be hard if we are choosing the right coin/s. If we think Bitcoin is enough then that was a choice. Yes, it is just like gambling and there are only two possible results, win or lose.
1980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I doing the right thing on: July 09, 2022, 10:50:55 AM
How can a newbie invest in good altcoins? I know about BTC and ETH but I think I can make more money from altcoins instead of BTC and ETH, I did my research and I have a few projects in mind but I don't know if they are worthy..

Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero to name a few
Maybe Avax is a good coin among them but never had an interest in this project as well. For me, I'd rather stay with BTC and ETH - let's say it wasn't really profitable this time but what I'd just look at is the future of my investment and it was to say that they are meant for the long term.

And I tell you that it was too risky putting our money into new projects. I believe you've done the research but it guess what, you have been fooled by the review of these projects that makes you think about the unrealistic results of investing in them.
