So as much as the days progresses and the managers of the altcointalk perceives the increased in traffic they have recently started receiving as those ban services have now found their way to altcoinstalk thereby attracting bitcointalk members who before now had no interest there teleporting their accounts there now. With this it shouldn't be a thing of surprise if we start observing certain little changes in the teleport process as the days go by and their traffic keeps growing from different angles.
The admin of Altcoinstalk, based on their rules, does not want any drama or anything of the sort. Therefore, I wonder if those members who caused a lot of drama here will be interested in transitioning over there. They might find themselves being constrained and restricted. It's a different platform for them, not their usual playground. Ah fuck pretty good post. Here is a merit or 2 ah loyce it is more censored and the ability to have genuine long dialogues is not yet there. But if the bull comes and a few alts moon 🌖 it will likely grow more. I am a bitcointalk guy Far more than an altcoinstalks guy. But for now I will post 20 or more posts a week there . I am 1 payment into the 100 payments I need to make up for the refund I gave to an un named mixer due to the mixer ban.. Just 99 weeks to go.

I can confirm that Kraken has a Lightning withdrawal channel.
Was easy to register, deposit, buy and withdraw
Nice, Kraken is one of the few exchanges you can really trust, even more than Binance. I wish I shared my ref link tho I did a thread showing how to use kraken and or nicehash i tested and showed screenshots.

I end up finding this situation funny. We are +10% above the target pace. And then we have blocks taking half an hour to be mined. This has nothing to do with actual hashrate, even at static speed time intervals between blocks follow exponential distribution. With the mean being 10 mins, If you plot the half an hour in a cdf function you will get 4.98%, which means nearly 5% of all blocks are found after half an hour regardless of the hashrate. yeah barring a massive network wide cut back of gear ⚙️. you need to go to an hour wait to call it unusual. and two hours to be a real longshot. two wait time is a very rare event. an hour is 0.0025 or 1 time every 400 blocks two hours is 0.00000625 or 1 time every 160,000 blocks. There are qualifiers to those numbers as they assume the actual gear running is really running. Ie if every miner in the world said fu I am turning off my gear to prove a point we could go a month with ease. But we all know that there is no way every miner in the world will power off.

the fed went flat around 2006 to 2007 and we crashed and burned. in 2008
that flat 1 year period was pretty much death ☠️
so if we stay flat in march and june we will likely burn in the fall.
time will tell.

cycles are 2015/2016 blocks always.
but time is faster or slower.
Ya, 2016 blocks make a difficulty epoch, however, due to a bug in the code the first block of each round is always ignored in the calculation, so even if takes too long to solve the first block -- it won't affect the diff change, besides other things, even if hashrate was constant difficulty would still increase. @stompix, the halving is going to be brutal regardless, i lost interest in all the small details the precede it, nothing matters now, not until the halving sets a new ground for everyone to walk on ( or crawl on for many others). yeah it simply depends on the counting of the starting block. 121% is truly a magnificent number. It will kill my mining if we do 20% jumps. But I can see us going way past 800eh by apr 1 2024. which I do not think is possible. But what do I know. Not much
|
|
|
31 extra blocks in just about 1 day.
brutal numbers yeah variance bla bla bla. but 176 vs 144 is nuts 🥜
Lets see if we continue at that pace.
If things continue at this rate, will the cycle end sooner, or will it even mine more blocks than normal? cycles are 2015/2016 blocks always. but time is faster or slower.

A few blocks ago transactions were confirming with slightly over 20 sat/vB fees. Now the recommended fee is almost 600 sat/vB. Absurd.
yep super moon action 828764 = 4.06 828763 = 4.63 828762 = 4.16 828761 = 4.03 828760 = 4.76 828759 = 5.05 828758 = 5.02 828757 = 5.73 828756 = 5.30 828755 = 5.98 828754 = 5.72 828753 = 6.38 828752 = 6.20 828751 = 5.51 we fall off 828750 = 0.29

Latest Block: 828397 (31 minutes ago) Current Pace: 105.9973% (1838 / 1734.01 expected, 103.99 ahead) Next Retarget (earliest): Tomorrow at 9:18 PM (in 1d 3h 59m 17s) Down to more realistic figures, so counting the -3.8% last time it because just an average of ~1% per two weeks, rounding error. Outch, the last set of blocks was insane, we finished at 7.33% and that is really going to hurt, i think people are trying to maximize their hashrate before the halving, i think we could see more jumps like that, fudge. https://newhedge.io/terminal/bitcoin/difficulty-estimatorLatest Block: 828751 (16 minutes ago) Current Pace: 121.8286% (176 / 144.47 expected, 31.53 ahead) Previous Difficulty: 70343519904866.8 Current Difficulty: 75502165623893.72 Next Difficulty: between 77883462687748 and 92425765237003 Next Difficulty Change: between +3.1539% and +22.4147% Previous Retarget: Yesterday at 10:35 AM (+7.3335%) Next Retarget (earliest): February 13, 2024 at 10:23 PM (in 10d 11h 43m 10s) Next Retarget (latest): February 16, 2024 at 12:32 AM (in 12d 13h 52m 10s) Projected Epoch Length: between 11d 11h 47m 50s and 13d 13h 56m 50s 31 extra blocks in just about 1 day. brutal numbers yeah variance bla bla bla. but 176 vs 144 is nuts 🥜 Lets see if we continue at that pace.

okay first off
s17 pro set to low or using brains does around 29 watts a th 35 watts a th on medium
s19 pro does about 29 watts
s19 xp does about 23 watts
all of the above I own and they are well tested numbers
so I don’t own a s21 but there was some testing done here showing
3900 watts and 200 th which is 19.5 watts not the advertised 17.5
based on jan 2023 13 months ago we had around 400 eh and no s21s
we are now at 550eh
lets argue 75 eh are s21s and based on current testing lets argue 19 watts
the other 500eh are maybe 28watts certainly not more 32 watts or more
so maybe the numbers are 400eh at 33 watts and 75 eh at 26 watts and 75 eh at 19 watts
I am on an ipad mini so I need to check the average for those numbers.
I am thinking ballpark the network is close to 30 watts not lower .

Below is the result of the cycle that ended on day 2. We can see that it was a cycle that had fewer blocks mined. I will try in the next posts to have the data presented in BBCode mode. We'll see how it goes. every diff cycle we have 2015 or 2016 blocks. depending on how you want to count. I think you meant fewer coin rewards. not fewer blocks.

Did not care for sopranos but I binge watched it all in six or seven days. don’t do it that way.
24 is good to binge watch an entire season take a break then binge watch second season.
How did you feel when you saw them? too many murders. show simply was not realistic. I grew up in east new york, ozone park and howard beach. three italian american neighborhoods. in new york city. I lived there from 1957 to 1978 and in those twentyone years there were under 30 mob murders. The sopranos showed a far higher murder rate then the real world so it turned me off.

^^^ This doesn't prove you are in possession of the whole 24 series, homer. You could have photoshopped this or possibly used AI. I demand a signed message.
No but really its a pretty good show. Seems like it was forever ago.
I'm currently watching Yellowstone as they brought it over to Netflix. Nobody ever stops to think about Cowboys and Indians in Montana.
lol Busted! I did do a little bit of GiMPing on it because for some reason my phone put its name on the image and I also tidied up my crappy signature a bit. I haven't written in so long I forgot how. It was like stepping back onto dry land after a day of fishing from a boat. I'm not sure why but I don't like to watch serials. I will try if they come highly-recommended though first four seasons are very good. It faded after that. I did watch all of them. I find a lot of five years plus shows fade in the later years. I was a big fan of babylon five star trek next generation northern exposure battlestar galactica second version elementary Did not care for sopranos but I binge watched it all in six or seven days. don’t do it that way. 24 is good to binge watch an entire season take a break then binge watch second season.

EDIT: I bought it. This should be a fun project. I was going to add the i5-7600T's TDP is 35W. For low power, I prefer processors with a TDP as low as possible. I recently measured one of my Celeron laptops, it consumes <4W idle. I'm still looking for a few more spare laptops, they're cheap and very convenient to have around for projects. It beats a VM yeah but it will almost never pull that. especially since he has an external ssd doing more heavy lifting. at the op that unit is pretty good for that price. let us know now how the setup works.

I'm looking for:
Low power consumption. Small is better, since I'll probably be stashing it out of sight. Headless. Silent. SSD, not HD. I'll probably use an external SSD for the node storage. What else do I need?
All tiny PCs have these characteristics, they are small and quiet. I would follow up on a philipma, at least an i5 of the sixth generation (if the budget allows, look at younger ones as well). And considering that the computer will work 24/7, power consumption is worth paying attention to. so get an i5 or i7 at least sixth gen. cpu 16gb ram and a 1tb ssd
Isn't it better to have one SSD for OS and another for data? For example 128GB + 1TB no not on these units. just get a 1 tb ssd and clone it to an external 2tb hdd for an emergency backup. Keep the 2 tb hdd off line. use something like this https://www.amazon.com/GLOTRENDS-Protection-Resistant-Photography-B86/dp/B01LXO6HLG/ref=sr_1_4?If you have serious money or really important data make 2 or 3 back ups.

I found it!!! It was in a hidden wallet that was passphrase protected. I did not see that before. Thank You both so much!
Always good to see coins get found. Most of the time this section talks about lost coins and I would venture to say many times they are not recovered.

I want to run my own node and block explorer and am planning on running Start9 (mostly to make the block explorer part easy). I'd like to go reasonably cheap for this PC since it's for a personal project (the block explorer will only be available on my wifi network at home), and also because I'm spending every dollar I can spare on buying Bitcoin of course I'm a Mac guy, so I'm not familiar with PCs at all. I could use your advice. I own a few Raspberry Pi 3Bs for home automation, but Start9 docs recommend against using a Pi for a Bitcoin node, and mine are old anyway, so I'd need a new device for this project. So, I assume I'm looking for a mini PC to run Start9. I'm looking for: Low power consumption. Small is better, since I'll probably be stashing it out of sight. Headless. Silent. SSD, not HD. I'll probably use an external SSD for the node storage. What else do I need? Any other advice? dell hp Lenovo all make a Mac mini sized unit. give me a minute I will find links ------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.ebay.com/itm/334266133509? this has a 128gb ssd and 8gb ram easy peasy to upgrade it is 90 usd https://www.ebay.com/itm/186174116413? this has an i7 and 16gb ram. you need to upgrade the 512gb ssd it is 289 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this one is 311 usd with an i7 7700 16gb ram and 1 tb ssd it is a Lenovo you need to pick options https://www.ebay.com/itm/235398515461?-------------------------------------------------------------------------- this one has 16gb and a 128gb ssd windows 10 pro only 149 https://www.ebay.com/itm/165928451002?so get an i5 or i7 at least sixth gen. cpu 16gb ram and a 1tb ssd so if you do not want to open the gear to mod you can get the Lenovo for $311 shop around I just picked them by searching on eBay Lenovo tiny dell optiplex hp tiny you will find hundreds of them. you can get a good unit for under 350 even less if you know how to mod.
