1461  Economy / Economics / Re: Can One Get Rich or At least Not go Broke During a Recession? on: November 01, 2022, 09:30:46 PM
. So I ask what hidden opportunities does this recession offer? How can one take opportunity of the recession to become rich or at least not go broke?

Do you have a job? Do you have any income?
If you do, and you have some savings, a recession is much better than a bull market to make money. You will be able to buy cheap stocks and bonds (and crypto) and in a few years your stash will be much bigger than it would if we were in a bull market right now.

Take a look at this article
https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2022/05/20/2022-stock-market-crash/

If you don't have a job now, there are also opportunities now. There are many options to try for a remote job, study in the internet and so on.
Find stable job first so you will not go totally broke and become totally useless during a recession. However, if this recession has laid you off from your job, then you can always develop your skills and find good jobs online that will be needing your area of specialization. No need to wait for some job offers, learn to look for them as recession will never hinder us from landing into good and well compensated jobs as long as your totally fit for it.
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 30, 2022, 01:48:25 PM
I like the outcome of the fight, though it's expected that Loma would win the fight but what we all witnessed was obviously a very entertaining fight. Loma this fight via unanimous decision, so for sure he is ready to face Haney, we can expect this big fight early next year as both fighters are really eager to fight each other.

Though Loma wasn't at his best but still we were able to witness an amazing performance which I think was enough for him to face Haney next year if things will be sorted out right like whose gonna have the bigger slice of the pie. Ortiz was a live underdog and for sure his future is bright if he continues and improve his fighting style.
It was a good tune up fight for him before a big fight, Ortiz was also good but he is not at the level of Loma yet, so he needs to work harder because he will be facing a tougher challenger, a champion that was not yet defeated.

Congrats Loma and bettors by the way, what was the odds for Loma winning via decision?

Loma to win by decision was 1.88 while 1.96 for KO, almost even.

Lost my bet but as i thought that Loma will KO Ortiz but the 10 month layoff may have affected his performance today but no regret, it was still a good fight for Loma.

Sorry mate but that's okay because it's almost a win because Loma was also able to hurt Ortiz, unfortunately, there's no aggressive follow-up which intention is to bring his opponent down.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 30, 2022, 12:47:46 PM
It will be on Monday against the Denver Nuggets and this team isn't going to go easy on them as they also have a good run at the first games that they've got unlike the Lakers.

The Nuggets are a pretty strong team, and the Lakers will probably play without Davis again. So it will be quite expected if the Lakers' losing streak increases to 6 games in a row. Honestly, it's a pity that Davis is so prone to injury. He can really be an effective player, but he misses games due to injuries once again, although the regular season has just begun. This looks like an unsolvable problem both for himself and the team.
It will be another disappointing match if that's the case, and I agree that the Nuggets are a strong team and there's no doubt about that. The same with the Laker's struggle is the Brooklyn Nets which is having the impression of a strong team. Well, we're having super-strong teams that struggle in their early matches. They're 1-5 and that's one win lead against the Lakers.  Lips sealed
Brooklyn is way better than the Lakers because they are not the Lakers who are still winless until now. I'm sure Lakers will play hard to break their losing streak but if they don't have the talent, I don't think that's enough to beat a strong team like the Denver Nuggets. Lakers have the home court advantage, but I don't trust them since they are 0-2 at home so far.

The first game is over, converge winning streak is still alive.

It was a low-scoring game but an entertaining game to watch, Bossing is just a competitive team now, not the same with DYIP who just keep losing with huge margins. As usual, Q Miller still carries the team for another win, hope he will continue to play the best basketball.

Sadly, they will be playing back-to-back with an exhausted body tomorrow but so is their opponent Chicago Bulls.
Chicago will surely win this game, they are at home and yet they are still a slight underdog.
That's questionable for me, I would stay away from this game. Bulls are at home and yet they are the underdog, for sure the public would take the Bulls so most likely it's just a trap and Sixers will again win this game. As per status, Embiid is questionable, but I have a feeling that he'll play.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 29, 2022, 02:19:50 PM
Damian Lillard didn't play (calf injury) but Simons and Nurkic stepped up their game to be able to claim the win.

Congrats mate. Nice catching that Portland Trail Blazers -6.5 handicap in the live bet.

The reason is, for almost the entire whole game, Blazers are dominating the Rockets right at the start that's why a handicap of -6.5 for them is unlikely to offer as it was possible for them to cover it. The Rockets are always behind by over 10 points.

I will guess, you got that on 2Q where the Rockets managed to cut the lead by at least 6-7 points if I remember it right. Cheesy

I would doubt betting on the Blazers without Lillard but that big win of them just proved that they are an improve team this season. Their good start is real, I  mean, they'll be a tough contender in the playoffs if they will be successful in reaching the playoffs.

May I know the status of Lillard's injury, when will he able to come back?
1468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Growing Money is Knowledge on: October 28, 2022, 09:53:00 PM
If I had seen this message in the past years, my direct answer would be yes, keeping the money is a very good thing. But now when I look at the wars and tensions around the world, saving money in this period is a huge mistake. Because there is a serious inflation problem around the world right now. For this reason, all the money you save in the bank or personally is melting away in the face of this inflation. Because the value of money is decreasing day by day. The house and cars you bought for a certain price yesterday were almost doubled. Therefore, in this period, it is better to make a profit by investing your money in some way or by converting the money in some way.
For some people who have no ideas about investing, keeping money is the safest thing to do because they think that will ensure their future. But that is not the case right now as everything you have saved might be insignificant in the future as their value will keep on depreciating due to high inflation. To avoid it from happening, never focus on saving alone this time as investing a portion of it will give you secured profits in the future. As long as you are only investing in good and reliable projects, your money will keep on growing as well as you also gained consistent knowledge out from your investments.
1469  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Payed trading person to follow on: October 28, 2022, 09:30:20 PM
Yeah, thats why I'm asking. I can't find these people

Then you have a big problem, because if you can't find "those people", then you are definitely not ready to recognize if someone is legitimate or if they are setting a trap for you. Successful traders do not share their advice publicly but focus on their goals, and some indicators say that only about 5% of people who trade make a profit.

If you are already going on such adventures, follow at least one rule - invest only as much money as you are ready to lose. Most people learn from mistakes, it's just a question of how expensive those mistakes are.
Seems you are not ready to trade OP so better yet, focus on investing first and never invest an amount you can’t hardly afford. Also, learn to develop trading on your own through watching some free video tutorials in youtube. That way, you will gain ideas how to trade and on different scenarios in trading. Although copy trading may be good especially if you are still a newbie, but if you want to make consistent profits in trading, you cannot rely on it completely. Have your own skills and strategies in trading so you can be a good trader in the making.
1470  Economy / Speculation / Re: My advice to you regarding bear markets. on: October 28, 2022, 08:59:27 PM

Keep accumulating crypto and you will reap the rewards in the future!

Is this a financial advice? I personally think it should not be, because this is part of the reasons we have many people running away from crypto-currency claiming that it's a scam or a financial trap that only extort them of their capital.
I don't tell people to accumulate crypto-currency all because they want fast earning or they want to get faster and better returns on investment.
Rather I advice then to accumulate more Bitcoin because it has more potential in terms of helping with all of the financial issues that has come to be a tradition using Fiat.
Altcoins are good investments too but they are only good for short term profitability, so if you are looking for long term profitability that will make your future brighter, then stick to bitcoin which is the most prominent coin in the market. History has proven it more safe and secured despite of the uncertain and unpredictable market.
1471  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: October 27, 2022, 09:59:14 PM
Seems the bear market is likely going soonest. Congratulations in advance to those who bought low and those hodling for a long time. There is likely going to be a new all time high to be achieved before this year comes to an end. If you can, fill up your bag but do your own research.

What do you all think about the sudden bounce back and price increase on Bitcoin of lately?
This is what we all hope for to see a good price increase for bitcoin and with the rest of established altcoins. So congrats for those who have high patience in hodling their coins for long term as they might be profiting months from now. Otherwise, if the price will dump again, then most likely the bear market is not over yet and we might experience more dumping of prices in the next days and months.
1472  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do the best out of what you can control on: October 27, 2022, 09:47:48 PM

Since we can't control the amount of merit a post is to get for us, then the right thing to do is worry about the one in your control if it can make good out of that which you can't control.

Why should their forum rank or the number of earned merits be important to new members?
If I were you, I wouldn't bother with it, but if I were a new member of this forum, my goal would be to learn something new, learn from older and more experienced members, make new friends, become part of the forum community etc.
Over time, as you learn more about crypto, you will be able to share much more on the forum and help others.
Everything else, like forum rank or merits, will come naturally and without too much effort.
Newbies are most likely less knowledgeable and have less chances to get merits from other members so it should not be their priority first. Instead, acquire knowledge from all resources so they can maximize learning and eventually, skills will develop in time after making a lot of various experiences. When everything is good about them, that’s the time they can attract merits from others unexpectedly and effortlessly.
1473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why speculate when you can be at peace with Bitcoin on: October 27, 2022, 09:32:00 PM
Speculation is a part of the process interms of investment. The idea of assuming that its market value would increase in the future is already speculating. Maybe OP means not speculating that much or not putting that much of attention checking its market value.

That's just okay as long as it's your vison as an investor but we cannot put a margin to those who are using a different method; short term investment. We do all have different perspectives but for sure we are all having one goal; to gain profit from doing so.
I understand that we can never be sure of everything, the reason why sometimes we end up with speculations. But for me, that’s still fine as long as we also make a thorough and educative research on that so that we’ll also rely on facts and not purely on speculations. Regardless if we have long term or short term investments, that’s our choice as long as we always go for good and established coins for investments.
1474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a mistake shorting BTC at 17k on: October 26, 2022, 09:52:53 PM
I suggest you buy back your BTC now before prices shoot back up, because the logarithmic rainbow charts are already putting this current price in "Basically a fire sale", even almost breaking below that color line - meaning we will never see $17K again (sorry Bitcoin to zero doomers).
There’s no other way to regain your expected profits than to buy back again while the market is still deeply bearish. Although it’s really not a huge loss literally, but if you want to increase your profits when the market is finally bullish, then you don’t have to waste time waiting for another price dump just to buy again. No one knows what will be the price tomorrow or the following day, just buy back when you have enough funds for it.
1475  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Will be the Bottom of Bitcoin till 2025? on: October 26, 2022, 09:31:54 PM
Bottom in 2025? If he look a the historical log, we could be in the bull run, 2024-2025. So I was quite surprised to that you are asking for the bottom instead of a new all time high.

So I'm not sure if there is somewhat that can give you the bottom price till 2025.

But as far as prediction as to what could be the new all time high, perhaps we could see 6 digits for the first time.
Really. It’s quite an odd to ask what would be its bottom price when everyone is expecting a new all time high. But anyway, as to my POV, it could be $15k or lower than that. The market is so unpredictable, it could even drop below $10k which will create a lot of panic in the market.
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does new projects succeed in bear on: October 25, 2022, 09:58:44 PM
I belive that projects should start at bear market, If they have the intention to become one of the pioneers of new trend, they should start at bear market. Remember those project that rise up on the revent bull market? Most of those started during the recession. Bear market is for builders and projects who easily failed because of current market scenarios means they are weak and can't handle the same marketcycle again. Investors should find projects in this season, everything is on cheap!
Well, the bear market brings a lot of opportunities even the development of good projects. But we only know if they are good and profitable later on if they have surpass and survive the bear market. As most of the weak projects never survive, but for strong and powerful projects they will surely survive throughout the bear market since they have powerful long term goals and they are in set for long term profitability. This is why building for good and reputable projects should start at the bearish season, and not on the bull market instantly.
1477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MY JOURNEY SO FAR on: October 25, 2022, 09:21:02 PM
You've been a Jr member for quite sometime now but it still a thing of joy seeing your rank increase.
As can be seen on the activity calendar, th last activity window was on the 19th of this month, six days ago. Safe to say it's still very recent that OP ranked up.

To the OP, congratulations on your new rank. Older and higher rank members often do not see the need to celebrate each rank increase, especially those which are much lower, but it's always positive seeing new members join the forum and learn from it.

Good luck.
I’ve been there OP and I know the efforts you have to go through just to get that rank up or promotion. And certainly, everyone has gone through it. For now, continue acquiring news insights and information about crypto and the crypto market. That way, you will always have a good write ups that will also benefit other newbies  in the forum. Good luck on your crypto journey and I’ll aways hope for the best for you.
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 23, 2022, 02:07:28 PM
Denver Nuggets will definitely keep him for a long time and just surround him with good players in the next seasons to come.

Of course, Jokic is a very valuable player, and the Nuggets management is well aware of that. As you probably know, the Nuggets agreed and signed a 5-year contract extension with him early in the offseason. So the Nuggets have already kept him for a long time since his current contract will only expire after the 27-28th season. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Jokic plays for the Nuggets his entire career.

Yeah, Actually Jokic is the most valuable player for in NBA right now since he is good on both offense and defense while he is still young,  The only reason why Nuggets still don’t get the championship or even close on WCF is because Jokic has no solid team mate that can cover him while he is resting. Nuggets play is centered to Jokic which is the reason why they are always being beaten by strong teams on playoffs but Aaron Gordon is now improving well and probably he will be one of the key player on Nuggets to help Jokic.

It will be a loss for Nuggets if they let Jokic be traded since they are the one who develop this player since his rookie days.

They don't have Murray, he was injured last season so Jokic had to carry the team. However, since their offense heavily rely on Jokic, they became so predictable and they have no answer on a good team like the Warriors. I hope they will improve this season, well, they've proven they had improve because they beat the Warriors on the road.

Yes, Jokic and the rest of the Denver are doing good. They already have Murray to help, we know the IQ of Murray in terms of
basketball skills, he can bring a big impact if he will play healthy this season,

Porter Jr. is also back, he is getting his rthym back, and we are slowly seeing his good 3-point shooting, also his defense as well as he has height and athleticism. Jokic is still playing like an MVP, as long as he is healthy and the entire team, they should be hard to beat.

The first game with the Jazz gives a bad sign but afterwards they bounce back, beating the heavy favorite Warriors.
It's unpredictable but for me it's good to see them enjoying their company and they still have that same
system which rotates the ball well.

That was surprising really, but Jazz is a legit one, they actually get better when Gobert and Mitchell were traded.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 23, 2022, 01:15:50 PM
I have a very attractive bet tomorrow.
LA Lakers is only -3.5 against the Blazers, they are on a two losing streak, I'm sure they'll play harder in order to win.
So what you do you think about this betting spread? Should I be confident on betting on the LA Lakers, or will just stay away from this game?

Also, we have Jazz +7.5 against Pelicans, I'm thinking of betting Jazz ML.  Smiley
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 23, 2022, 12:26:12 PM
Ginebra is currently 4.95 ML. I guess there's no chance they will win against the Magnolia, seems like Magnolia is really a legit team and they will continue winning. I bet on Ginebra -1.5 before the game, now I'm hoping miracle will happen but I'm not adding my bet anymore.
