1681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educational: Breaking misconceptions about market crashs on: August 04, 2022, 09:58:51 PM
But it is not enough to crash Bitcoin almost about 10k down.
<snip>
The point is that an altcoin having fundamental issues is not going to affect Bitcoin much, the sell off could have caused panic as it's somewhat Bitcoin related and can cause panic and fud. There are also other factors that goes into price movements besides what hits the news as headlines.
If bitcoin has an issue and its price drops, expect that all coins will be affected too. But when it comes to altcoins, even if they end up losing their value, that won't create huge effect on bitcoin. Although bitcoin is still prone to such price decline, but always know that bitcoin will eventually recover and target to reach new all time high after that. Maybe the recent price drop for bitcoin is actually more on the reasonable effects due to global economic condition, and crypto market is not the only one affected but as well as with the other market.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 04, 2022, 09:33:08 PM
If Bitcoin drops that low, I would at least be happy that I sold some at $50,000 and overall made a very decent profit with Bitcoin. If I only hodled and never sold and the price dropped catastrophically low, I would be full of regret over missed opportunities like selling at $69,000. It's never a bad idea to take profit with a portion of your investment, even if you think that it will get much higher eventually.
There are no losses actually if you sell your bitcoin at a higher price from the time you bought it, or even if you sell it a lower value as long as you also sell it for a cause. You benefit from it so it’s still profitable on your part. However, with regards to seeing bitcoin at $1k, well it’s certainly something to celebrate as its another opportunity to build more profits in the future through buying a lot of bitcoin at its current price. So never miss another train, just buy as much as you can.
1683  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: August 03, 2022, 09:51:08 PM
Do you think social media is now becoming more a place for business than socializing, Could it be as a result of digitalization and things moving online or more people now starting business online because of need to somehow generate income or another source of income for self to survive the economic situations which is becoming tougher?

Making business with other people contributes more to create socialization, and maybe that’s why social media is made because this can be a good outlet for business and all sorts of socializing. And as we are living in digitalization, social media has become more effective. However, not just only profitable for us but as well as for those people who live with greed. Scams are also everywhere, and social media is never an exception.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ATH for ETH on: August 03, 2022, 09:32:29 PM
As all are speculating the merge for ETH, are we gonna see ATH for ETH in the crypto market? Thoughts?
Merging are mostly manifesting a positive outcome after that, so yes it’s possible to see ETH new ATH after that. However, expect that bitcoin will be the one to reach another all time high first, afterwards we will witness more altcoins are also influenced by the positive price of bitcoin. Ethereum is the next best asset next to bitcoin, so probably with or without merging, ethereum will always reach its new ATH.
1685  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diversified are you with your investment, crypto aside? on: August 02, 2022, 09:37:18 PM
I'm a young professional, starting working a year ago, and so far I've been placing 20% of my monthly salary into crypto (only crypto).

I understand that it's risky, and would like to save in other ways too. But then whenever I start deciding ...

- savings account offers 0.65% APR, meaning I'd be saving liquidity but also Losing due to inflation.

- traditional markets have less fluctuation but are risky anyway, so may as well stick to BTC and ETH no?

- can't think of any other investment type that yields more than 10% py. Enough to cover inflation.

Any suggestions that could help change my mind?
Or are all you deep into crypto only, like myself ?

Thanks!
Bitcoin is a very good investment, yet a very risky too. But I definitely agree on you that there is no other investment that is profitable as bitcoin. However, you could also invest into real estate, buying them at a low price, and selling them at a higher price after making some good developments. You can diversify your investments as much as you want, but always allocate higher portion of capital for bitcoin.
1686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Early Adopters rich? on: August 02, 2022, 08:22:43 PM
I just wonder: are Early Adopters rich?
We know AA, author of "Mastering Bitcoin" was once attacked because he did not made any fortune having BTC from early years, then people donated some BTC and he collected around 100BTC.
Hal F's wife sued "I am Satoshi guy" and they were talking about $ 3-digit mln, so they are not kind of people who wait every month for their wage.
What about others? Bitcoin Core developers? Forum admins or well-known old users? Are they crazy rich living in their own castles or did they lost their coins, sold for $10 because of mortgage loan or student's debt and today they must work 7-15 every day?
Everyone has its own way of managing their investments. If the early adopters show strong faith in bitcoin and were not tempted to sell at a low price, for sure they are reaping their fortune right now. However, for those who never see the real value of bitcoin and just easily sell them off when the price starts to surge, then they must be regretting by now, wishing they have not sold bitcoin at a very early time.
1687  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You have not lost a dime if your Bitcoin is in your wallet on: August 01, 2022, 10:18:21 PM
...All this people sold at different prices but their all sold only 1 Bitcoin.

If you look at it the way Elon Musk assessed the situation, who decided to sell BTC owned by Tesla for 29 thousand dollars, then it looks like a loss for his campaign. But if he decides to buy bitcoin for the same amount now, then his quantities will increase and exceed the initial purchase. So is it better to sell and then buy at a lower price or hold, in the hope that the price will recover?
Selling is only done when you see the coin has already increased its value, that way you will sell for profits and then buy back again when bitcoin is already in a low price. However, if you sell at a loss, that’s another story. Just focus on hodling the coin, you might never know in the future that the 1 bitcoin you used to hold, can already buy a lot of bitcoin if you decide it to sell.
1688  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you look down on Bushy or undeveloped areas? on: August 01, 2022, 09:56:12 PM
Have you ever or come across friends/ family members feel regretting of not buying land property in an undeveloped area that later turned  a city after some years, houses/land property becomes very expensive.  Time without numbers of have always heard many people how they gave histories about some areas when it was coming up land was sold for a very little amount of money,  then they had opportunity to get land for a penny but not interested of it because it was bushy and not developed.

After some years the place gets developed  by people who endured and quickly moved in no matter how it was bushy and undevelope. Most of the people I meet making complain like this never had opportunity again to afford a piece of small land again because of much responsibility of life.

It seems very painful because of the amount of money spent for renting a house annually.  Do you think buying your first landed property in a bushy area is a good investment for the future.
What we see today will be never be the same again the next day, or in the future. Just like a property, if it’s not developed yet, we always think it’s useless, but when developers see its potentials, it’s value instantly grows. So if we always focus on the future, that this land will become more developed, then it’s always a good investment to buy properties even in a bushy area.
1689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 31, 2022, 10:37:10 AM
Just be positive, they are just delaying the announcement a bit so they can keep the hype going on as it's necessary for them to sell the tickets for a bigger revenue. This fight is going to be the biggest fight this year as it will finally tell us who is the better between the two, but if they can put a rematch cause, that would make the rivalry more intereting, as who knows, we might see a Trilogy.
Trilogy only happen when both of the boxers not want to move their division and it's really a close fight, if it's one sided either Knock Out and Unanimous Decision, many fans wouldn't want to see the rematch since they're disappointed to see his past fight.

But this fight are getting longer to be scheduled, it seems both of them are afraid to lost their belts and want to keep their record like the currently they have.

Not really, because even if the first fight is a one sided fight, the loser could still ask for a rematch especially if it's on the contract which is called a "rematch clause". Good example is the Haney vs Kambosos fight, the first fight was a one sided fight and now they are still into a rematch.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 31, 2022, 07:57:29 AM

The conflict between players is common, but the conflict between players and management, that's very rare.

Yes, but it's happening already, the conflict is usually between the management and the superstar of the team because a superstar knows his value, if he will leave or gets traded, the knows that other teams are willing to accept him. Take it for instance, what if Curry will ask for a trade, for sure teams will be hoping that they can get him as currently he is the best player in the NBA.
1691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 31, 2022, 07:12:43 AM
And he also stress that he can't talk any more regarding the fight as it is still on the process of negotiations.
I hope the negotiation will be successful, the sharing of this fight is not our concern anymore, our main concern is for this fight to happen because we have been anticipating witnessing this big fight. They can fix the sharing and hopefully both camp will agree, so next will be the schedule and the location of the fight.
Just be positive, they are just delaying the announcement a bit so they can keep the hype going on as it's necessary for them to sell the tickets for a bigger revenue. 1692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will Never Fall Again on: July 30, 2022, 02:43:36 PM
Misinformation among the cryptocurrency communities is evident and will be rampant regarding newbies. There are a lot of people who are becoming a victim because of their lack of knowledge and self-research. Some people are lazy when reading facts and ensuring that they read suitable sources. Like here in the forum.

I do hope people would be more interested in the truth and verify that it's true or not. That kind of station should be somewhat penalized or something.
People continue to be misinformed because there are really these kind of presenters who acted as if they know but the fact is, they really lack the knowledge and good research. And if no one will dare to correct their mistakes, innocent people will continue to rely on wrong information. However, such a brave act OP as you stand for what you think is right. Only by then, people will finally understand that bitcoin is never useless and will create good contribution on each of us if we also learn to adopt it too.
1693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Ever Reach $100k? on: July 30, 2022, 02:08:35 PM
Arguably, the most significant driver of Bitcoin value is its future price speculation. There have been several speculations of BTC price by top crypto influencers, while some have come to pass but it appears that the 100k price milestone appears elusive.

The $60k prediction came to pass but BTC has since lost more than 65% of its ATH price.

Do you think that BTC will ever rise to and above 100k in the near future? Wil it be before or after the next Bitcoin halving or this price would never come?

What's your opinion?
Don’t be too rush in reaching another all time high for bitcoin. We will get there eventually. However, just because we are in a deep bearish market, bitcoin price will stop moving forward? The market condition is only temporary, and so the current price of bitcoin too. History has proven that a lot of times. And as expected by a lot, a new all time is reach after bitcoin halving as it always bring good benefits to all bitcoiners, most particularly bitcoin miners.
1694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 30, 2022, 07:00:07 AM

I'm really sure Ginebra will take that game however Meralco is really playing at their best. It's like every possession should be worthy or else that will lead to the turning point of the game. Do-Or-Die next game and we should expect a close game. I'm sure the Moneyline odds for both teams aren't that gap next game.

If there's a big gap, then I will not take the Moneyline odds.

Tonight we will know what would the be the odds for game 3 or the do-or-die game. I'm expecting that Ginebra will be a light favorite because definitely bookies will adjust especially if the spread is not high since public bettors will hit Ginebra spread hard for sure.

If it's -2.5 or -3.5, it's still worth to take IMO.
1695  Economy / Economics / Re: You don't earn money only from others, but also when you avoid spending your own on: July 29, 2022, 09:44:02 PM
Usually people get anxious and frenetic for new sources of income, to find new jobs, so they can maximize their patrimony as soon as possible, but many of them forget you don't accumulate wealth only when receiving money or being paid by others for a work. We can also decrease our expenses and stop third-partying tasks we can do ourselves, so at the end of a monthly cycle we will have earned more money to invest and make it grow overtime.

People create so many worthless fixed expenses nowadays. It can be monthly subscriptions of services they barely use, eating out too often, purchasing superfluous clothes, accessories and items in general just for vanity towards the society. Sometimes people have all the tools they need on their hands to finish a solid building, however, since they don't know how to use them properly, it will look like they constantly need more and more tools indefinitely.
Saving is also a good way to earn more, but unfortunately most of the people find it hard to save even those who are big earners in the society. Maybe one reason is that they always spend more than their income, so even if they have other resources of income, earning and saving money is still not possible. Where in the real fact is, you will also earn more if you start to manage your funds and buy only those things that are necessary. But of course, having investments or another sources of income gives you bigger chances to earn and save more money to grow.
1696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store on: July 29, 2022, 09:16:44 PM
It is always a pleasure to read such positive examples about using bitcoin and crypto currencies. I fully support you in your campaign. Have you had any positive reactions from customers? I didn't see anything about your satisfaction with the response.

Whatever the case may be, this is an outstanding article that will surely get attention. Keep up the good work and I will make sure to share this article with anyone who are interested in following in your footsteps.
This serves as an inspiration to those who are also planning to accept bitcoin or any form of crypto in their local stores or small business. I think it’s a great advantage for OP because his own country has a good market for bitcoin and crypto, so might as well take advantage on it. However, for those countries who are not more open to crypto, accepting it as a payment method is also a good start because it will create noise in the long run and who knows, you will discover lot of crypto owners secretly residing in your own country too.
1697  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for newbie to long-term investing on: July 29, 2022, 08:46:26 PM
Hi guys,

After the immense hype up of the crypto industry, I jumped into crypto investing last year along with al lot of the casuals. I spent a couple of hundred bucks but sold just above break even point after the market crash last year. I was forced to because I needed the money to invest into myself to find a good job. Now that I've found a job, I started investing in crypto currency again, and started doing my due diligence.

My goal right know is to accumulate as much crypto as I can, but I'm not sure what the best strategy is considering the current economic factors. The approach I've had over the past couple of months has just been dropping a portion of my salary each month into crypto. But now I'm considering stacking my fiat to buy in on the bottom of this bear cycle which I think is yet to come. Would this be a wise decision? Or should I just keep going with the approach I have now?

EDIT

I would like to thank everyone for their helpful advise so far, I will definitely take each point made into serious consideration. Also from the points made, it lets me now that my mindset is where it should be.

Right know I'm heavily focused on accumulating as much Eth as I can. I'm almost at the goal I've set for myself in terms of how much I'd like to have before investing in another coin, since I've started investing again a short while ago. Next up I'd like to stack some ADA and BTC of course. But I can't help but wonder is accumulating ETH and ADA the right move right now? Or should I be more invested in BTC in terms of potential long-term returns?
ETH and ADA are still quite profitable these days, but I suggest focus on accumulating more bitcoin that will bring more profits into your wallet in the future. While others are in panic buying all those cheap altcoins in the market, smart people prefer to stick on bitcoin and maximize their hodlings because somehow, it will also give them huge profits when bitcoin reaches its new ATH again. It’s not bad to stack your fiat in crypto, but always know what and where to invest so your money will not go into waste.

1699  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the possibility Bitcoin will rise before the end of the year ? on: July 28, 2022, 09:41:38 PM
Last year I predicted Bitcoin will rise above the value at the start of the year and I was totally right about it, in April Bitcoin eventually reached a new all-time high price of $64k. Bitcoin added about 72% of its value as it  increased drastically before it eventually started falling back in May till September. I don’t really know how this year is going to turn out now because of the present dip. But I just hope it increases, that’s why I’ve been advising so many people  to hold their Bitcoins and even buy more now cause it will surely rise again.
No matter how the market conditions looks like, in an unpredictable market like this, everything is possible. But if am that being practical and would stick to the struggles we are currently experiencing, for me bitcoin will not reach a remarkable price this year. We are almost at the last quarter of the year, and yet the price is still in $20k range, although bitcoin may recover but it will never end up with its new ATH this year. That’s only my thought.
1700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi is not dead, what is he doing? on: July 28, 2022, 09:18:43 PM
If Satoshi is not dead and still alive, what he is doing/they are doing right now is as simple as other alive people.
- Enjoying his achievement so far related to Bitcoin and also crypto,
- of coruse Eating
- Sleeping
- Doing daily activities from daily activities, sleeping, and waking up.
And,
what,,, wait,, is it so important for you to know what he is doing? Whoever he is and whatever he is doing right now, let it be and we cannot assume whatever it is.  Grin

I guess Satoshi if is still alive, then he could be one of us, having in disguise. I think that’s also possible so he can always follow the progress of his invention. But seriously, Satoshi is maybe chillin out there, living the life he and his own family deserve, that is if he’s still widely alive. Otherwise, he may be resting in peace for long, no one knows exactly.
