That's great news Smoothie, it will give me a chance to actually finish off my second piece.
There have been a nice amount of applications but I thought there would be more, hopefully there will be more submissions with the extended deadline...
Ah Mopar, yes you are right, I read what I wanted to hear! ↓

Mr. Friedman saw how big the internet had become, and that we didn't need the government any longer to tell us what is what. We can find out information on our own. Obviously, the next step is creating a new currency that would work without their control as well. It was only a matter of time before someone would attempt it. Satoshi wasn't the only one with the vision of creating a global digital currency, but he seems to have been the quickest to develop something that really works and is attractive for the end-users on a greater scale.
Indeed, Satoshi had to have been influenced by lots of people, way of thinking and previous projects and the concepts behind them. Milton Friedman must have been one of them. He certainly had all the credentials. Credit can go to these people who laid the foundations for Satoshi, but to be able to build on these ideas with the vision of Bitcoin and bring it to life deserves greater credit. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milton_FriedmanMilton Friedman (/ˈfriːdmən/ (listen); July 31, 1912 – November 16, 2006) was an American economist and statistician who received the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his research on consumption analysis, monetary history and theory and the complexity of stabilization policy.
Anyone interested in reading a bit about the Cypherpunks who also certainly influenced Satoshi can visit an old thread of mine below > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5217348.msg53597623#msg53597623

We are pretty much half way through the IRC tournament with round 10 completed over the Christmas break. And I am 3 from 5 from that round. Leinster just about held on to win away to Munster 19-20, and they still remain unbeaten this season. Also Cardiff travelled to play the Dragons and won there. Friday 23rd South Africa - Lions 5th to beat the Sharks 10th
Scotland - Edinburgh 6th to beat Glasgow Warriors 9th
Saturday 24th Italy - Benetton 12th to beat Zebre 16th
Monday 26th Wales - Cardiff 7th to beat the Dragons 13th
Ireland - Leinster 1st to beat Munster 8th
This is how the top 5 are looking today:

It's actually quite important to "shop local", it creates local employment and maintains the service which is important because it helps to maintain a sense of community for local people.
We cannot get everything locally but we should not buy everything online either.
We buy all our fruit, veg and meat from local growers and farmers, we pay a little extra for this but we want to support local.

The only difference and the most important element that you forgot to consider was Bitcoin price already suffer too much down fall since the Tera Luna failure and the recent FTX bankruptcy that happened last November. All the selling pressure is already done before December that makes the current month a very nuetral in preparation for next year big move in the price.
You should check the condition of Bitcoin market before December on those previous years that you mention before you compared it to the current situation of the crypto market.
But you forget one thing that, all the previous bitcoin slumps, bitcoin has never experienced conditions like war, crisis, extreme inflationary economy. So expecting bitcoin to rise again in 2023 is not easy, I don't believe bitcoin will easily rise in 2023 without any catalyst. And in the current market, apart from Fuds and Fuds, we don't have any good news. These are good points, war, inflation, the thread of power and food shortages all make for an unpredictable short to middle term. While historically the markets have reacted positively to the incoming halving and the spin of the 4 year cycles it's hard to make predictions based on them. We may have to fast forward to the second half of 2023 to start getting positivity in the markets. will war and inflation be more powerful than the allure of the Bitcoin halving?

Thank you.

Theoretically the way I look at it is that Nadal and Djokovic have pretty much developed their game to the max whereas the younger generation and in particular Alcaraz are still developing.
I would like to think that Alcaraz in 2023 will be much better than 2022 and should pose more of a threat to everyone including Djokovic.

I did, I had the Lions to win but of course that didn't happen.
My second bet didn't workout either, Glasgow the favourites held on 16-10 to beat Edinburgh too.
Today will be Munster v Leinster, I really can't see Munster win, Leinster are unbeaten so far in both The URC and Heineken Cup.
On a slightly positive note, Benetton whipped Zebre 38-5 so at least 1 bet has materialised.

For me I think Nadal performed better in the earlier part of the season this year than at the end of season. These results were all from the first 6 months:
Winning 2 grand slams, Australia and France Winning, Melbourne and Mexico Beaten in the final of Indian Wells Beaten in the quarter final at Madrid
After his semi final loss at Wimbledon in July he didn't reach those highs again!
I strongly believe he will be better early on in the season!

No my budget is not affected. I don't over extend myself with gambling, that said I wouldn't be a high stakes kind of gambler, it's more for entertainment rather than trying to make massive gains.
I can imagine during this season when there could be financial pressures on people that a gambling budget could get chopped but then there are the cases of addiction and if something else would have to be compromised instead of gambling.

Timelord I'm using Rollbit for the United Rugby Championship! My first pick didn't materialise: Sharks 37 - 10 Lions
Friday 23rd South Africa - Lions 5th to beat the Sharks 10th
My 4 remaining bets are: Edinburgh @ 2.4 Benetton @ 1.15 Cardiff @ 1.52 Leinster @ 1.51 I'm a bit worried for my Edinburgh bet, I thought they would be favourites even away from home. There is definitely value in them.....if they win!

I think Nadal will still be a major threat in the early part of the season when he is fresh and fit. His skills, experience and his mentality will be able to compensate a bit for his fitness.
His main threat over a 5 set match is going to be the top experienced guys, Djokovic obviously, Zverev and Medvedev and Alcaraz I suppose.
Obviously, Rafael Nadal is not expected to be eliminated early on. He is still a very capable player. People are saying that he is not eligible to win the title. Despite that, he is not bad enough to be eliminated from the tournament in the first round. I think the five-set matches are going to be a treat for him alone because I don’t think he still has that type of stamina right now. As he gets older, it is also likely that his stamina will decrease as well. My opinion is that he is not winning. But he should be able to go far in this tournament. I would think the opposite, I think a 5 set match suits him better because of his other strengths, Skill and mentality or mental strength. In a three set match if a player gets the better of you in the first two sets, it's over. In a five setter you can go behind in the first two sets and still win the match. I have seen some younger players with less experience go ahead in grand slams but don't have the mental strength to finish the match
