1861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 31, 2022, 02:30:28 PM
It was a good decision to take a three to win the game at that moment but he made it tough for himself. He took it too quickly even if he's already tired and his teammates weren't set to help in rebound if he misses. It wasn't even a long three but he almost airballed that one. He could have made one more pass  for a little breather and look for a screen.

There are lots of "what if" bro. What if he nailed it? That wrong decision will turn into a good decision, right? The play won't be wrong in the eyes of others since Butler made it. Actually, even some fans may be upset about the decision, it will be a different story if that 3 went it.

The Heat was rallying throughout the game and that was exhausting. Instead of fully blaming Jimmy Butler, blame his other teammates that only wake up in the final minutes like Oladipo and Lowry. If only these guys are red-hot early, Butler won't take much of the load to narrow down the lead.

I believe it's the bettors who blames Jimmy Butler for that quick 3 point shot he didn't made because even in my side, I always hear that he could have pass that ball to others who could make the shot at point blank or he can attack the paint and make the shot and maybe go for an overtime. I was just listening but I said to myself, if only they knew how tired was Jimmy Butler for carrying the team. He played for almost 50 minutes and barely rest in between quarters and time outs while his team are not that consistent.

It was a good play and the Miami Heat still deserves some credits mainly Jimmy Butler because they got to the conference finals.
1862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: May 30, 2022, 07:14:48 PM
Waited for ages to get this trilogy fight. But now I am not that excited. Canelo agreed to this fight only after knowing that Golovkin's prime days are over. The trilogy fight is occurring 4 years after Canelo vs Golovkin 2. Ideally Canelo should have agreed to the fight in 2019, or the latest by 2020. Now Golovkin is already 40 years old and his prime days may be over. As the odds predict, I am not expecting much from the Kazakh legend now. He maybe able to put a tough fight and may last the full 12 rounds, and that is all.

As expected, there will be comments like these. This shows how active we are in the world of boxing because we can say that a certain fight is or was a mismatch including this trilogy. Even if Canelo himself won't admit that he's not afraid of GGG but it's so clear and he cannot deny that fact that GGG is one of those boxers who pushed him into corners and had a hard time.

That is also why Canelo vocally said there's no need for a trilogy because he won the 2 fights when in-fact the 1st match was a draw and it was a close bout. Now, Canelo agreed because GGG is already at his verge of retiring this industry and the latter is not that fully capable of defeating Canelo unlike if he had given a trilogy early 2020.

I believe that if Canelo will win, the people and the fans won't be impressed about it. But who knows, maybe GGG can still manage to give Canelo another upset followed by that defeat against Bivol.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: May 30, 2022, 06:44:07 PM
Never expected that the Boston will make it through, I expected that it will be the heat but still that was hell of a match from Jayson Tatum and Jimmy Butler. I voted Warriors since I was a Warriors fan and the odds was not that bad but there's a saying that the ball is circle and what's on the downside can go on the upside so we'll never know who will win this playoffs, even though the Warriors was a defending champion they still need to make sure that they would be able to secure wins.

The Golden State Warriors is not the defending champion, it's the Milwaukee Bucks which was defeated by the Boston Celtics in Round 2 of the playoffs conference. The Warriors last Finals appearance was on 2019 against the Raptors and they were defeated that same year.

As for me, I already expected that the Celtics will be the ones to survive and to advance towards the Finals this year. What I didn't expected is that the Miami Heat forced themselves a Game 7 because I expected that the Celtics will close the series in their home but Jimmy Butler carried the team and went on beast mode.
1864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 30, 2022, 12:37:25 PM
~ A great game by Jimmy Butler, but he was one shot away from being a hero at the end when he missed that three.
Until now, I don't know why Butler took a three instead of taking a two and put it into overtime. It's a clear path to him and it's just him and Horford and no defenders in the paint. He wants to be a hero to the team but it didn't went the way he wants to and now it cost them their trip to NBA Finals.
I don't think being the hero was even on his mind when he decided to go for it. He probably wanted to finish it with the three because he knows he's too tired to let the game go to overtime and he is short on support. Unfortunately, he didn't take more time to set his feet before taking that shot. Still mad respect to him though.

Yep, the team got no other choice as well but to try for that shot, who else is more capable to do that? It's just too bad for Jimmy Butler because he was the one who forced to make that shot and now it's him who can't move on with that because that cost them a fishing trip this summer. The whole roster cannot afford for an overtime because they were so tired already of transitioning, that situation was a do or die and his instincts were telling him to do that shot because it was wide open.
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 30, 2022, 12:16:29 PM
Game 7 will be tomorrow, finally, we will see the biggest game so far in the playoffs.

I like the status of the Heat here, they are the home team, and yet they are underdog per sportsbook betting odds.
Butler has to drop a good number, that way their chance to win is good.
There is a reason why they are the "underdogs" even though they lead the eastern conference and they still took the series to 7 game and basically they look like it is equal betting right now, it is just that Celtics looked a bit more comfortable on games they won, whereas Heat looked a bit less comfortable when they won.

So, people assumed Celtics could win easily if they play their game well enough, but to be fair if Heat could hit their threes again, I believe they could win equally. I would put this game to 2.50-2.50 odds equally to be fair, because to me these two teams are equally good and there is no difference between them at all.

I think you what you meant is that the Miami Heat have managed to win some games but barely compared to the Boston Celtics who have dominated them if they win some games.

The bookies are seeing them as an underdog because they are undermanned and the rest of the roster are just nursing their injury while playing. So, the Celtics indeed have some advantage. Also, people don't really expected that Jimmy Butler could duplicate his performance on Game 6 and carry the team again.

And looks like they were right after all because the Celtics have won the conference.

I will root for Miami tonight as I will keep my vouch and support the same teams that I said I will from the start. One went out against GSW and I can't blame Mavs as they already did a fantastic season but on MIami , I'm still waiting for that massive game where all the players will play good not just Jimmy buckets.

Will be rooting for the Miami Heat as well at +2.5, yes it's really hard to predict, but I will bank on the experience of the team. Butler, Bam and Tucker or Lowry has the experience to go to the finals already and they have the the young guys to help them out. And they have the home court advantage which is very important in a game 7 close out game. And if I'm not mistaken, the numbers are in the favor of Heat.

I agree with you on that, they have been in the NBA finals before, so we can tell that they have the advantage in terms of experience. It was Butler who is carrying the team, he should do the same in game 7 for them to be in the Finals. However, we don't know what the Celtics are cooking here, they may have some plans to counter the defense of the Heat and to limit Jimmy the Buckets, all that we can found out tomorrow.

Back to the PBA, have read in my social media news feed that K. Ravena and NLEX were meeting for a possible return, is this true?

So his contract with Japan's B league is over?

That's what I'm saying, contracts overseas are mostly short-term only, that's why some PBA players just choose to stay in the PBA so they have an assurance that they'll continue to receive their salary for the long term. I guess Ravena spoke well to the management before he left the PBA, so I expect that the management will accept his comeback as well.

As per below, his one-year contract has expired but he may be extended as there are rumors that a new contract has been offered so their meeting must be for another arrangement like before where he plays in the PBA while it is off-season in the Japan B-league and fly to Japan when the season there open, to me this arrangement will not do well with NLEX. It is better for them to let go Ravena and let him pay for the remaining contract that he has with them as he can't help in their campaign for the championship.

Quote
Ravena’s one-year deal with Shiga Lakestars in the Japan B.League already expired, but SPIN.ph learned from people close to the Filipino guard that a new contract offer has been put on the table.

So what Ravena is trying to do here?

Is he playing safe but in the end will put NLEX hanging when he got his contract renewed?
I don't like that, he was thinking that he is a valuable piece of superstar and that the team would go after him, maybe as a sign of respect, he must make his decision final before reaching out the NLEX.
1869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 29, 2022, 12:07:29 PM
I believe the Warriors are the favorite to be the champions!
With their performance during the playoffs, it is clear that GSW is back to the way it was before!

What is your opinion with this possible GSW finals victory?

Maybe 4-2? 4-1?

I would not think of that kind of score in the FInals given that the NBA now is very much unpredictable. Warriors are good, but they are not really that dominant, I mean there are games that they allowed their opponent to dominate them, and if you still remember, they loss by a huge margin in one game against the Memphis.

If the Warriors will face the Heat,  I'm confident with the Warriors to have that kind of series score, but if they will face the Celtics, I don't know.
1870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: May 29, 2022, 11:41:18 AM
And I think Vargas is a strong opponent, so we are going to see Magsayo being tested, if he will respond with a big win, then for sure people will believe that he deserves to be a champion and he has a bright future ahead of him. My prediction is, Magsayo by KO if he wins.

Yes, Vargas' achievement is really a big deal, 35 wins with no defeat yet. Magsayo surely got a good challenger.

However, Vargas resides for a long period in the BantamWeight division while the other hand, Magsayo is already an experienced fighter at the FeatherWeight. There might be a big change in the environment that Vargas might experience entering a much upper-weight class and facing the champion.

We are going to see it, at least for now we know that Magsayo should train hard as he got a good challenger. Magsayo is not popular yet, he has to continue working on his way to consistently defend his title and this upcoming fight of his is a good fight to start with.

Quote
That's why maybe others looked at Vargas as a threat to Magsayo because of that 35-0 record and considered the former as an experienced boxer compare to Magsayo. That might be true but since Magsayo is used to fighting at Featherweight, that's already a big advantage for him against Vargas.

I see the same, and I'm not so complacent that Magsayo will win.

I love the Warriors to win, but 4-1 in the Finals, I think that's too much to ask. If the Warriors had some problem with the Memphis, I think there's no way we can underestimate their opponent, I think minimum 6, max is game 7.

It's possible to happen. Celtics and Heat are not consistent these playoffs compare to Golden State Warriors. There are lots of times this East team are having bad plays. In NBA Finals, it should not be like that as that's the final series already.

I'm thinking around 4-1 and 4-2 too but not it will turn out 4-3. Warriors in 5 and the reason is, they will try to celebrate a championship at their home. We are just guessing here but who knows Finals will be at Game 7. That was a good watch for us NBA Fans.

Warriors, if they can finish the series as early as possible, they will do it especially if the game was being played in front of the

Dub nation. We don't know, though if how Boston or Miami will compete. For sure, if whoever wins the East side, they also have that pride

not to allow being eliminated that quick. It's the finals and fans will expect a championship caliber team will do everything to win the

title.

It would be nice to see if the Warriors will not easily eliminate their opponent in the NBA Finals. Curry, Green, and Thompson are now healthy and complete, so they can sure give a good series to whoever they will face in the NBA Finals. I like to see Curry winning the Finals MVP, he is currently at 1.80 now, I think that's a steal.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: May 28, 2022, 01:38:44 PM
Correct. As a challenger, Vargas should give the champion the best of him so, in return, the champion will also do the favor. A champion like Magsayo needs a strong challenger to prove that he really deserves to be a champion.

And I think Vargas is a strong opponent, so we are going to see Magsayo being tested, if he will respond with a big win, then for sure people will believe that he deserves to be a champion and he has a bright future ahead of him. My prediction is, Magsayo by KO if he wins.

1876  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $25K the bottom? on: May 28, 2022, 11:18:19 AM
I'm not sure bitcoin will drop to these values. It can't go down without stopping for two months in a row. If the price goes down to 25k, it probably won't be for long. A bounce should happen in the near future. The number of long positions on bitfinex is constantly increasing. I think this is just for a reason. Many people are afraid to buy now and are waiting for bitcoin to get cheaper. But usually the market moves against the expectations of most.
There is always the potential for the price of bitcoin to drop lower than $25K, but a reversal also seems more likely and the price never drops lower again. Prices cannot be predicted with certainty because sometimes the opposite happens because market demand and supply are very uncertain. We have a history of bad price declines in the past where bitcoin prices fell by more than 85% from ATH. But obviously that's not a bad sign to judge bitcoin's future due to the fact bitcoin price has managed to score another ATH in 2021.
I agree that there have been worse falls in history, but right now I think a good indicator is that almost everyone is talking about bitcoin going even lower. Many people want to buy it cheaper than they are currently being offered to do so. Usually at times like this the price starts to go up and they have to buy at the market price. Then the dump happens again.
Now is the right time to buy, not when people are in FOMO because that would not usually lead to profit, especially if the market is no anymore bullish. Let's face the reality, we are in a bear market now, and just like in the past, some people will panic and sell their holdings, but how many times do we make mistakes, instead of panicking, why not buy cheap and close our eyes.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 26, 2022, 04:02:51 PM

For now, Golden State Warriors is the only team that is close to the championship.

Eastern Conferece Finals is tight and we don't know who will win there even by speculations and predictions.

And one notable thing, teams playing in the ECG right now are dealing with lots of injuries. Golden State Warriors, on the other hand, are playing healthy and it's not just the Splash Brothers that carry the team but there are role players who are stepping up for them. Regardless of who will be in the ECF, the Warriors do have a very big advantage.

Warriors also have suffered injury problems but not on their star players and they have lots of replacements that are ready to step up.
They don't have GPII anymore, and Otto Porter Jr. is also injured, but he will be back soon.

Their chance is good actually, the reason why they are the heavy favorites to win.

Gary Payton II's presence could bring a big help on the defensive strategy but now he's injured and cannot help the team, but his absence along with Otto Porter Jr. doesn't make the Warriors in the disadvantage side as they are still hard to beat and capable to dominate any team especially in their home and that's make them the heaviest favorite to win this season.

With how Wiggin stepping up for the Warriors, he's adding the pressure to any opponent that they will be facing, we see him doing good adjustment both with his offense and defense, With him and Green plus the splash bro and Poole the solid big 5 can beat any team inside this league. Though the series against the Mavs is still ongoing but the advantage is still with the Warriors,

they can close the series at home unless Mavs already finds the right adjustment to counter every attack of the Warriors.

Still, the Warriors have that good advantage to advance to the finals..

Indeed! Wiggins and everybody on the roster especially their deadly new big three are outstanding, even though their best defensive player was removed because of the sustained injury, they are still hard to beat, and anywhere you put them they have the advantage.

The Mavericks have been playing well the entire season and keeps surprising the fans with their improvement in the playoffs until now, they are a heavy team but they just don't have the continuous consistency and the experience that the Warriors had. I expect a better Dallas Mavericks next season, even though I want a fresh match-up like Celtics vs Mavericks in the Finals but they just cannot bring the Warriors down.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Davis vs Romero: May 28 on: May 26, 2022, 03:36:37 PM
While browsing my Facebook feed I just saw this feed, Romero thinks he is the most explosive boxer in the history of boxing and when asked how he is going to be successful on Gervonta Davis, this guy just says Tank is easy to hit and their's no way he could not beat him.
His team is feeding him crap I don't know if this is just s strategy or really coming from his heart, this guy should be knocked out, so he'll wake up in the reality that he is not the most explosive boxer in the history of boxing, the guy doesn't know anything about boxing history.

https://www.facebook.com/ShowtimeBoxing/videos/502243731696012/

He's such a clown. No wonder people don't want to bet on the stupid horse, but looks may be deceiving. He can get lucky here and then all those people who are betting 1k just to win $100 on Davis will cry.

He can talk all he want because people won't really believe all those nonsense, it's only believable if he already defeated some known boxers in the industry but as of now, he didn't have any on his sheet. Did he honestly think that Tank Davis is easy to defeat and there's no way he cannot beat him? He got me on that line Grin We'll see if he can prove that later on when they are sharing the exact same ring.
1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 26, 2022, 03:07:10 PM

Steve Kerr almost calls it a game because of 99-70 behind entering the 4th Quarter. But his bench squad managed to cut it by 8 points haha.

I don't know if Kerr will put back his main starters lol. The Warriors outscored the Mavericks by 32-13 with 3 minutes left in the final quarter.

What a rally from the Warriors bench lol. This is the problem of the Mavericks since the beginning of this series. I'm expecting lots of criticism later after the game even if the Mavericks will win this game.

EDIT: 119-109 Mavericks
Mavericks pulled off 1 win, I think the series ends in game 5. GSW will close it out at home. Luka is a good player, but he is a ball hog and needs a couple more years to mature.

I missed the game today, but I guess you are correct. Why not extend the series for one more game and win at home. Mavs only has little to non chances of winning this series though. And, so much for Luka trying to be LeBron carrying the Mavs to the finals. I'm not even sure why the Luka and Porzingis didn't worked out. I think experience and maturity is really essential for Luka for the team to work whoever important pieces the Mavs will acquire.

There's still a lot more room to improve for Luka, I mean he is already good but this is just too much for him to bear because there are only 2 or 3 of them in the team who is really functional and Luka is the one who is so consistent. He will be back for the next season as a more experienced Luka, there is no need to rush because this is his 1st playoff experience and he is still 23 years old, yet he managed to carry the team to WCF.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: May 25, 2022, 07:56:08 PM
^^ Well we have been discussing what kind of strategy Donaire needs to win this fight because as you have said, he has seen Inoue power and speed before and he himself holds against and then fight and broke Inoue's orbital bone. And so far the consensus is that Donaire's left hook and counter punch is the key for him to win against the Monster. If he failed to execute any of the two then the chances for him to win is slim.

If we combine all of our ideas of how Donaire can win against Inoue is just to avoid the body punch. Donaire can stand against the punch of Inoue and avoid power punches. And, I think he will stand against him if he tries to close in a fight and do left and right hooks.

As I predict the fight, it might be the same as last 2019. Donaire just needs to increase his stamina and speed since Inoue is much younger and has more speed and power.

Body punch is the signature of Inoue, Donaire was a victim in the first fight although he was not KO after getting hit by a solid body punch. I'm pretty sure Donaire are aware of it already, he already felt the power of Inoue, so he will be careful in this rematch and will try to be quicker, and also quicker to score a KO as that's his only chance to win.

Donaire cannot honestly deny that he was really lucky enough that he didn't got KO'd after Inoue gave him that solid body punch, he surely felt that punch while Inoue was also hurt but he managed to shake it off. Not just Donaire but both of them will be careful enough because they are aware of the consequence if they caught unguarded as they both know how strong they are.

Both will for sure, they already taste the solid punches against each other and now that in just one careless move their opponent can beat them up, looking to see the same type of tempo. How they fought before shows how eager both fighters to win against each other, and since this is a rematch and both of them hold belts that in stake.

More aggressive but smooth attacks to be sent by each fighter, even Donaire is underdog here, betting spare coins would be fine

to show my support for him..
Yes, they are quite aware that a single mistake will lead or result into a defeat. That's what exactly makes this upcoming fight indeed interesting to see because the previous fight was just a close score which resulted into a unanimous decision. This time for sure Donaire will seek revenge and prove than he can still dance well and defeat a much younger and strong monster which defeated him ones while Inoue is looking for a win that will close this bout for good. This will be tough!
