2221  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is Faucetpay paying bigger withdrawals? on: September 29, 2022, 03:13:56 PM
Hey everyone,

i just stumbled across the wager races held on faucetpay.io (micropayment wallet & faucet site).

They have a daily $1,710 wager race in which the top 10 most wagered user will receive a prize according to their position.

I want to play there and hunt the races, but im unsure if they are paying bigger amounts, as i know they are legit in the way of paying smaller (few $) withdrawals.

The first place even gets $1,000 and i was wondering if they actually pay the users who gets first position, maybe you have some experience with faucetpay and bigger withdrawals. Smiley

i would appreciate your opinion & experience in the comments.

Faucet collection and gambling sounds like an interesting marketing approach to keeping users on your website. Keep them long enough and they might start gambling. Especially if you put in a minimum withdrawal limit. So they would basically have to keep coming back to your site to earn enough to redeem their earnings. Thats pretty genius to relate this to gambling. Those two things compliment each other quite well.

As far as the website, I have never used it before but it seems legit to me. They have active social media and there is nothing sketchy about the site.
2222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: September 28, 2022, 09:31:26 PM

What do you make out of this story, should we really allow our children to live such a lifestyle like gambling and night clubbing, most especially, when they are still under aged?

Let's discuss about this..

I do not think we should let children live a life like this because to me, and to a lot of people, this would constitute mental abuse of children. Their brains are not developed yet and they need adults who teach them good from bad, right from wrong. The last thing they need is to grow up around gambling and night clubbing. They will act differently than the other children and might become outcasts which will have very damaging effects on their adult years.

Kids need to have  a childhood. And to be around kids their age. Thats really important. If the gambling/night-clubbing parents are social outcasts, this can reflect very negatively on the child's development as well.

Except bitcoin...

you surely have lost some power as a reliant contra indicator recently..  I hope you are doing better this time

I keep saying that you are. If we were to follow an indicator which tells people to "buy now" every time a certain llama posted something bearish or anti-Bitcoin in WO, then we would have made a huge ROI by now.

Which to me, is just fucking magical.

Good ol' Pitago.

Once this backlog is done being worked through and those coins are dumped on exchanges, the short term panic should be over.

And then the long term panic sets in. I see people spamming something like "Keep Off Exchanges!" on social media. Even our dear Do Kwon also has 3k Bitcoin to move around before he goes to jail. Just in case his new wallet seeds get "lost".

2225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 27, 2022, 07:34:18 PM
You're a professional like a lawyer or a teacher in a respected university, will it harm your reputation if people around you or your students discover that you are into gambling, you're not really a compulsive gambler but gamble for entertainment, how will you explain this to people around you or will you explain to protect your reputation or just ignore them.

I doubt that somebodies reputation cannot be mended. If anything we don't live in some asian country where "face" is the most important thing in the world. Everybody makes mistakes and its completely fine that they do. But whenever a doctor makes the same mistakes we forget he is human and instead tend to think he has now become a lesser being. Someone not to be trusted. Which has a bit of truth to it. But depends on the situation.

I would take a gambling doctor over a doctor with a reputation of making many wrong diagnoses. Although I would be careful with my money around a gambling doctor. He might try to sell you unnecessary medicine or prescribe unnecessary treatments to make some money.
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 27, 2022, 06:59:31 PM
I do not really believe that counting cards without a physical deck (without swapping the deck for a new one, as they do in physical real world gambling casinos).
The online version of card counting does not exist due to how much easier it is to install certain security systems in place to make card counting impossible. Although I could not tell you what those security measures look like. And even if you somehow did succeed because you found a loophole in their algorithm or something, you would still be faced with breaking the terms of service and getting your account and funds frozen...

It all goes down to the Casino's suspicion.  A player can be charged with card counting even though he doesn't do it and a player cannot do anything about it.  Most of the detection is probably done through software and application so mostly if they found a player winning continuously, the player can be tagged with card counting whether the suspicion is true or not.  That is somehow unfair but well, the world is really unfair so nothing a player can do about it.  Even if he often disputes against the casino or live game provider, he cannot prove that he is not card counting.  The decision and authority is on the game provider so there is nothing for a player to do but to follow the Live game provider's verdict.  The player has nothing to lose but access since in most cases, the player can withdraw his funds.

Yeah but even then the most the casino can do is to kick the player out. They cannot freeze his funds or take his money away from him without proof that he was cheating. Otherwise thats considered stealing. Which is obviously against the law for both customers/clients and big businesses. Whether the player gets tagged, no idea. It would be within their rights to deny him entry to their casino. Its too bad if you lose access to the casino but again, thats a whole different matter than getting your money taken away from you. I am sure there are many laws the casino disregards everyday just because they hope the players are unaware.
2227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB or ETH ? on: September 27, 2022, 03:38:15 PM
What's your ultimate choice? Or both?  Smiley

Well if I had to absolutely take a pick then probably ETH. Although now what with the POS testing trials I am quite wary of ETH. My true honest answer would be neither at current time and never BNB just because of its quasi-centralization. I would not want to hodl coins that are even the slightest centralized.  At least the old Ethereum was decentralized. Now with POS it has already proven that its not really all that centralized either. Not with half of the nodes being owned by a literal couple of individuals. Seems dangerous territory to me.

Basically old eth over new eth and eth over bnb.

JJG..

I think we start to annoy the other WO members.

I am convinced that my explanations are clear so no need to write 1 page more on it.

I want to bet, but as a real BTC Hodler gentleman. So with REAL amount, not 100K satoshi, come on... you should be retrograde from "legendary" to "newbies" statut by saying that.   Cheesy

About the odds, i would be agree on :

1/1 : 15K
1/9 : sub 10K. I told you 10%+, i didnt say 25%. so not 1/10 but 1/9. You seem to have a better "edge" as you said between 1.5 to 4.5% for that level.

Give a decent amount to bet please, otherwise it's more than boring.

We can find a middle btw 1 BTC and 0.001 BTC... Don't you have bull balls?  Roll Eyes

2230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Comparing Craig Wright with the Core Developers and Segwit supporters? on: September 26, 2022, 06:37:17 PM
Comparisons should be made for the same type of person. Developers and developers, supporters and supporters.

If you consider Craig Wright as a developer, let's compare him with Core Developers and Segwit Developers (from Core Developers)
If you consider Craig Wright as a supporter, let's compare him with Core Supporters and Segwit Supporters

In both comparisons, I don't see how Craig Wright is good enough. He shills a shitcoin, tries to scam people and is not comparable with people who actually develop products that change the world and really support a project that pioneers the adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Yeah, unfortunately I am going to have to agree. Not only is Faketoshi (AKA Craig Wright) claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto without handing in any inkling of proof but he also shills for obvious scams and not-so-obvious scams but nonetheless have historically been proven to be scam, just a bit more complicated. Of course I am talking about his shitcoin endorsements. Really says something about the character of a person when they endorse shitcoins even though they "truly" only believe in Bitcoin. Nothing he does has any kind of positive side for the Bitcoin community. He seems like a ego maniac to me.
2231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is Falling on: September 26, 2022, 04:53:36 PM
Why Bitcoin is falling becomes quite clear if you look at the chart history of Bitcoin. Or any cryptocurrency. Or Stocks.

Everything that goes up must come down. Its just a law of nature and obviously when you look at gigantic pumps, like the one Bitcoin had on the monthly chart scale, you will understand the reason for the size of the correction. At some point the volatility becomes less and less and Bitcoin unexpectedly pumps into a new all time high. And then everyone buys in at the top and starts panicking when Bitcoin goes down again.

Just like now.
2232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 25, 2022, 11:46:45 PM
I believe everybody has their worst day in gambling especially if you started gambling early maybe in your teenage age. My worst day was when I used my school fees to gamble because I thought I will make more money to take care of some of my needs in school. At the beginning I was making profit for 2hrs,I was carried away with the anxiety of winning but later the game turned round and I was losing and losing,I didn't quit hoping I will recover my lost. Before I knew it I was left with 10% of the money I started with, I couldn't just quit the game then because I still feel I will start winning again but luck failed me and I got drained of all I have on me.

Two weeks later it was announced in school that we only had one more week left for closure of school fees payment, I tried borrowing, seek for help everywhere but nobody could help me with the money.  This was how I couldn't pay my fee for that semester and went home with carry overs after the end of the semester as I was not allowed to write some exams.

How about you do you had a worst day on gambling  that you will never forget ?Did it affect an aspect of your life and how ?

Everybody has their worst day in gambling and their best day in gambling. Don't let it get you down.

Obviously you do not forget losing a lot of money and it feels bad for a few days/weeks. But at some point you don't think about it and just go on gambling away as you did before. Sure you might win big or lose big again but that's only when you bet big. Whenever I lost money (and I lost my money stupidly and often), I made really big bets before learning to calm down with the big bets.

Find a strategy which will minimise your losses and hold to it.
2233  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: September 25, 2022, 11:31:29 PM

Many people do get lead astray because its in human nature to be too greedy. I think the reason for that is biological. Back when the first humans had to survive, greed was a great defensive force against dying. So you grab what you can and do not let go, as it would give you a bigger chance at survival.

Nowadays greed is completely unnecessary, unless you are living in a very very poor country.
I disagree - even people who are not living in a poor country are greedy as well.
I know someone who is living a fine life in a rich country and is scamming people around him - to satisfy his lust for greed of wealth and money - what would you call that kind of creature? It would call them owl.

I think we misunderstood each other. Allow me to clarify my viewpoint a bit:

I already said ALL people are greedy because its in human nature. I also said it was unnecessary (but unfortunately, it still exists). If it did not exist, this world might be a better one. Or maybe not. Who knows?

I am not sure what you mean by owl but it sounds like something that might mean greedy in your native culture. In which case, I would agree with you on what you said about scammers. They have a moral deficit.
2234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 24, 2022, 05:18:56 AM
There may be some folks who believe that there is an "us" that is willing (or able) to be "driven towards green energy," but I am thinking that you are getting your language wrong here.. because the incentives built into bitcoin gives no ratts' asses whether energy is green or not... There are incentives that the energy be less expensive; however, the extent to which any mining operation is going to be operating at "optimal efficiencies" will depend upon a variety of factors - which (the last time I checked) continue to be decentralized to the extent that individuals, mining institutions (and surely pools too) are considering a variety of factors in regards to when, where and how to conduct their mining operations and "green" aspects may well be discretionary - depending on a variety of factors.

I am not proclaiming that you are completely wrong.. but your suggestion that "green" has to be a priority based on current happenings seems to misdescribe what might be dogs and what might be tails - even though they are both present on the same animal.
Not sure we are talking about the same incentives. Mining with cheaper, green energy instead of dirty, more expensive energy : Which is better? Economically and ethically obviously the clean energy miners. I already gave you the source on green energy production costing less than outdated energy production.

At some point, people will start realizing that they can get the same electricity but at lower costs. Thats when big oil starts dying and their lobbyist buddies no longer have incentives to screw everyone over by polluting our living-environment and bodies. I guess some people just enjoy their fish pre-oiled before cooking. Roll Eyes Guten Apetite.  Kiss

Aren't you presuming too much, goldkingcoiner?  Where do you get the idea that "Green" energy is always cheaper?  Might the cost of energy and the advantages and disadvantages of each energy type differ based on location, and sometimes there could be some justifications to operate some kinds of energy at a loss in order to fund research or the development of future energy-related technologies.. and surely bitcoin has a lot of various ways in which energy can be consumed that had not been previously practical. so I am not really disagreeing with the ideas about the need to analyze generation, transmission and distribution.. . .and it seems that we also have concerns about how energy is consumed too.. especially when it comes to certain kinds of consumption that is deemed to be "less important" by some segments of the population.. so surely generation, transmission and distribution are supply side factors and some concerns about consumption has recently been part of what is being considered in the recent formulas too... and also who consumes the energy.. there seem to be some protectionism regarding who can consume what kinds of energy too, no?  and bitcoin is part of the idea.. but "we" don't want poor people to be consuming energy, right?  They might get richer by figuring out how to consume energy in ways to benefit their situations rather than contributing to the ability of others to be able to consume.  I am not claiming to know the answer.. but it seems that arguments are being convoluted and maybe it is not always on purpose... even though sometimes it seems that the convolution is happening on purpose.. and it is not just on one side of the political spectrum, either
I linked the source. But I guess if you live in the Arctic, it would be hard to generate electricity with sunlight or wind. Huh I guess you are half-right. But a few more decades of global warming and we won't have to worry about that. We will be too busy treating daily heatstroke.

Big oil is the bad guy?  I have difficulties with this presumption.
Your difficulties have been noted and will be taken seriously.

I understand various arguments regarding privatizing the gains and socializing the losses, so I would agree that companies should not be socializing some of their expenses (which would include costs to the environment that sometimes need to be sufficiently and adequately considered).. I am also not inclined to privatize everything, so there is a role for government and also a role to protect various public interests when it comes to energy production and also energy availability, yet I have difficulties considering that the energy companies are always the bad guys.. because there are some needs for allowing for the production and finding of resources and the various supply-side factors that you mentioned.

Big Oil is running on marketing only, at this point. People are either too afraid or too greedy to give our old energy production system up for a better system. Like people who cannot give fiat up even though it is obviously becoming redundant. We call those people nocoiners.

Climate change deniers are the nocoiners of science.

2235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will digital dollar be a threat to bitcoin? on: September 23, 2022, 08:31:07 PM
The digital dollar is proof of governments starting to panic about Bitcoin. They think if they make a trendy "crypto" out of their useless fiat then that somehow fixes the problems that fiat has. Namely centralization, verification and corruptibility. The governments and all the politicians do not truly understand why Bitcoin is as famous as it is. They think its all a PR bubble which has gone too far. This is exactly why the digital dollar, yen, euro, etc. will fail.

I enjoy watching them desperately try to invent a trendy new fiat to replace the same exact fiat. Bitcoin will definitely rise to the top and become the global money. Well, as long as the world still exists. Lets see if we don't nuke ourselves and Bitcoin out of existence
2236  Economy / Gambling / Re: Euphoriabet.io NO KYC Crypto Esports Betting and Roulette on: September 23, 2022, 07:47:51 PM

Just like the rest. They have the same or identical terms and conditions which they would really be asking for some verification whenever they do see suspicious activity on a certain user which is something not that shocking and any platforms that we do have today could really asked out those verifications if ever they do see those things. Its not misleading just like on what others been saying
because majority of platforms that we do have in the market doesn't ask out verifications before you can play. You could directly play without sending out various informations
but on the case where there are things which arent right then they do have the full rights on doing so.

I think it very much is misleading and honestly false advertising as well. If a casino says that they do not do KYC then thats that. No KYC. Saying "We do not do KYC" but then saying "Surprise! Do KYC or we will not give you your funds back" is very much misleading. Personally, I would not trust any online gambling casino that advertises like that. It does not seem like a serious casino to me. More like a copy/paste casino with misleading advertisments.

I would rather have a KYC casino than a dishonest casino.
2237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto- If he ever made himself known what would make you believe it? on: September 23, 2022, 06:50:41 PM
I think it would be foolhardy for him to actually show himself. A lot of people would consider him a hero and and idol worth idolizing, however there are many people out there who wish him ill. Especially when it comes to crooks like lawmakers, politicians and regulators in the governments. Everybody would one way or another disrupt his current peaceful life with unnecessary attention. Would he really want all that fame and every negative thing that comes with it?

Personally, if it were me, I would steer clear at this point. I am sure he has made enough money for himself, with a brain that big.

A peaceful happy life or a chaotic, famous and rich life where you have to watch your back whenever you go outside?

2239  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: September 23, 2022, 05:36:17 PM
Money is a good follower, but is a poor leader.

Money will always lead you astray, but it will follow you well.

Any man that seeks to follow money becomes misled.
Money is meant to follow you, while you are meant to follow value.  Create value, solve problems, and do it well, you'll attract people to follow you; remember, money follows people with value.

What's your take on this?

Its not really money that seems to be the motivating factor but power. Money gives you the power to purchase things or services that you would like. Without money you do not have that power. Money is the storage of value, which is the quantity of the power you can exert, basically.

Many people do get lead astray because its in human nature to be too greedy. I think the reason for that is biological. Back when the first humans had to survive, greed was a great defensive force against dying. So you grab what you can and do not let go, as it would give you a bigger chance at survival.

2240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 23, 2022, 05:09:07 PM

just saw this video published today by Cyrus Janssen.  although he isn't providing link to what he is actually talking about. I did some googling which i found these:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-29/alibaba-makes-metaverse-bet-in-china-s-magic-leap-rival
https://www.alibabacloud.com/solutions/metaverse

i didn't know how AR differs to VR. Alibaba will be creating the worlds shopping center where you can use the headset and just literally going to experience this metaverse.

In the future i think its not so far fetch after all to play and travel around the world while at home. the way its been described by Cyrus will actually work best for metaverse casinos than what Zuckerberg have in mind.  i think this is where we can chat on the poker table and make bluffs.

Not sure how you think that the "chinese version" of any original will be better than anything. When, in all of history has a chinese version of something shown itself as superior? Don't get me wrong, meta casinos will definitely see a boost in revenue thanks to this and that might make them quite happy, but if the original version of Meta could not pull it, why exactly would a chinese clone be better?

As far as I understand it, the reason Meta failed had nothing to do with the fault of how it was developed. But rather that there was not much demand for it. So how is this chinese version better? What sets it apart?
