2281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your winnings lured someone into gambling ? on: November 15, 2022, 10:00:02 AM
Most people around me knew that I am a regular gambler. But I bet privately and I don't tell my friends about it unless we're following the same sports and betting as well. And when I bet big, I will never tell my friends, family, relatives, or anyone about it. So it is the same when I win big, I also keep it private. Sometimes I treat myself from my own winnings. Sometimes I also treat my friends, relatives, and family but I won't tell them that I won in gambling. Not that they are against gambling because they don't care but it's just that I keep it private.

There were people I lured into online gambling most especially in sports betting. It's because I told them that odds are better than p2p gambling. Online gambling are less hassle and they can keep it private especially if they win big. No one will ask for commissions or treats on successful bets.
2282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Reduce Gambling Related Issues Like Suicide etc? on: November 15, 2022, 09:15:20 AM
Education is really the main key. When people are educated and understand well that gambling is an entertainment business then everyone can act in a mature way and bettors will be more responsible.

The real problem occurs when people without a deep understanding become addicted to gambling. Rich or poor it makes a little difference because rich people can also bet big. When gambling problems become a trend then that will be the time authorities need to act to protect its citizens. Government interventions might depend on certain levels. Of course, a total ban is not an immediate action since the gambling industry pays a lot of money to governments. Generally, developing and poor countries have a lower percentage of educated citizens and they will be the most susceptible to gambling problems.
2283  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of casinos with free giveaway/pool for World Cup Football on: November 15, 2022, 08:49:35 AM
Nice thread. Since last week, I have actually started to check bettings sites for World Cup promotions. Now at least there is no need to check each betting site one by one anymore since we will have a good number of lists here.

Here is the promotion of BK8 for the FIFA World Cup.

2284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 12, 2022, 01:07:33 PM
The Milwaukee Bucks were making headlines when they won over OKC without their big 3. OKC though is a weak team and today the Bucks failed to replicate another win when they lose to a weak team in San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs' victory ended their 5-game losing streak.

I just do not think the Bucks are capable of winning against top teams without at least 1 of their main players. Giannis and Jrue have minor injuries and Bucks management wants to make sure its main players will return healthy. The season is still early though and the Bucks can sacrifice a few more games since the main target really is to win a title.
2285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: November 12, 2022, 08:40:43 AM
Did Bivol really said that he can make 168 lbs?

Below is an article by boxingscene which talked on Bivol moving down in weight but i personally watched his interview after the fight talking that he doesn't have any problem making the 175 lbs in fact before making the scales he ate a little which most boxers don't have the luxury. His sight is on the undisputed belt but a fight with Beterbiev is a slim possibility for now but he can be undisputed if he can beat Canelo at 168 lbs.

https://www.boxingscene.com/bivol-on-possible-canelo-rematch-168-four-belts-its-interesting-175-my-weight--170307

I heard many times even before his fight with Canelo that he is not having problems making the weight. Maybe because Bivol is a small light heavyweight. Although I also read news saying Bivol has no problems making the 168 limits, we already knew he can, it is obvious because there are many 168 fighters that are taller than him. Bivol's frame is not big either unlike Artur Beterbiev who's short but his frame is so huge.

Without a Beterbiev fight, Bivol's biggest fight when it comes to legacy is Canelo at 168. I think he will beat Canelo at 168.
2286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copying Bet From Other Unknown Bettors, Is This a Good Practice? on: November 11, 2022, 06:54:47 AM
I nearly tried copy trading on eToro but decided not to proceed. But this is cool! If there is copy trading and mirror trades then there should also be copy-betting. I haven't checked it yet but I do wonder what will be the requirements for those you can copy-bet. It should not be huge rollers but huge earners based on percentage. I am currently bleeding with my sports betting, so I would gladly try copy-betting on sports. Maybe there's a small incentive for the profit like 1% to 3% for every correct call.
2287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It’s time people just fully accept 90% of the NFT space is a rug/slow rug on: November 11, 2022, 06:29:36 AM
You are right. But people here won't listen to a newbie's advice though. And most people in this forum knew that NFTs and altcoins are very risky investments. If Bitcoin itself is so volatile then imagine the altcoins and NFTs, especially the new ones. With Bitcoin's value already high and expected to rich a trillion dollars in market cap in the next halving, people are looking for the next coins that can provide them with x30 or even more. I am also looking for projects that have the potential to grow big in the next few years to come and there is nothing wrong with it as long as we know the risks.

For the gem hunters out there. DYOR is the motto. Probably a good project that has a real possibility of getting used. A known reliable team. Its partners and early investors also matter as they are also too influential for the growth of the project. Binance Labs, Kucoin Labs, and Sequoya Capital are one of the most popular and influential investors we might consider.
2288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 11, 2022, 06:03:59 AM
Luckily, I have not met any hate as a regular gambler. I do always want people to gamble according to their means. I know a lot of regular gamblers that are gambling just for the sake of gambling. They looked happy and excited every time they gamble but they never realized that they are gambling above their means. I heard stories from my old community that people end up selling their phones, bikes, motorcycles, and even cars and many lost their savings which took them years to fill. So I can understand the times when wives and parents especially mothers hate gambling. People need to be more educated on the real purpose of gambling. It is a form of entertainment and not a quick way to become rich.
2289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 11, 2022, 05:07:26 AM
I was under the impression though that what WBC ordered is a title eliminator between Ortiz Jr. vs Thurman, winner gets Spence for the WBC belt, or at least what Golden Boy promotion want. But I guess the WBC is not keen on that idea, and so decided to have Thurman vs Spence.
Well, nowadays sanctioning councils do not want to offend big promoters and networks, except probably on the IBF who usually insisted when it comes to its mandatories. But the WBA and WBC as the most corrupt sanctioning bodies in boxing are in constant talks with these big promoters and networks. Vergil Ortiz's title shot is long overdue but we cannot hear mandatory announcements because the WBA/WBC/IBF are with PBC while the WBO was then at Top Rank. Even PBC fighters, the WBA regular Eimantas Stanionis, and IBF mandatory Boots Ennis are sending and petitioning their respective sanctioning bodies to impose and execute their mandatory positions against Spence.

But in any case, why not? This is a great fight in my book, style makes fight and I will say that Thurman is a bad match up for Spence. So we will see how Spence is going to adapt on Keith's style.
This is a big fight indeed because Thurman is still very popular. But I don't think he is the same fighter, the only skill Thurman has these days is his loud mouth. But because he is popular, he is treated like a VIP, he continues to get big fights and title shots. He went inactive for 2 to 3 years but the corrupt WBA didn't even strip his title, the WBC stripped him though. Made a tune-up where he struggled, and was given a shot at Manny Pacquiao right away. Went inactive again then made a tune-up against a 140 guy who was knocked out in his last fight, Thurman backpedaled most of the fight which was supposed to be an easy KO for him. And then here we are WBC mandatory. Cheesy

I don't think Thurman will return to his usual prime form. He is already rich and unified 2 belts. That first long inactivity made him realize that life is too good to not enjoy while having the money to spend. I don't see his hunger anymore. His previous tune-up says it all. Spence should be able to stop him or cruise to an easy UD.
2290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 11, 2022, 04:35:09 AM
Guys, dont forget that Artur Beterbiev is facing Anthony Yarde in 2023. This fight was originally postponed due to Beterbievs injury. Fight with Yarde, recovery and preparation period - looks like Beterbievs next fight could only happen in summer 2023. This is a very long pause for Bivol. That pause can be filled with either with Canelo (not likely) or by Joe Smith Jr. for example. Top3 in light heavy. He is also looking to recover reputation after a loss to Beterbiev and to have a rematch with Bivol. It could be a win-win solution for Smith. Bivol vs Smith could be the next fight.

After Canelo saw how Bivol made it easy against a bigger guy with probably the same power he has, he is not probably going to rematch Bivol. I think Canelo will face an easier opponent next. The WBC already inserted at number 1 an unknown Russian named Pavel Silyagin with an 11-0-5 win-loss-KO record to make it an excuse that Canelo will fight a ranked 1 opponent.

Bivol already beat Smith Jr. before and it was not even close. WBA ranked 1 (Joshua Buatsi) and 2 (Callum Smith) are also both promoted by Matchroom and are easy to set.

You forced me to google who this Pavel Silyagin is. Well, I can say that does not want this fight to happen, as it will give him (and his legacy) nothing. With all respect to Silyagin, Canelo would fight someone he has already fought, than fighting a no-name.

Or it is time for Canelo to retire Cheesy Because there are no new challenging opponents left. He has nothing to do in light heavyweight, as there will either be a super easy opponent, or to face Beterbiev, Bivol and probably lose again. Stay in middleweight - beating someone second or third time is boring. To go to a lower division - he wont be able to cut so much weight imho.

It seems like the WBC succumbed to pressures as there is an ongoing convention where people can join and participate. Yearly conventions are the perfect time to voice out issues and proposals as well. The WBC will now remove all Russians and Belarussians from their rankings and no more WBC-sanctioned fights in Belarus and Russia. Don Mauricio though can tell Silyagin to apply for dual citizenship just like what happened to unified champion Artur Beterbiev.

There are still plenty of good fights for Canelo at 168. The WBC also mandated former champions David Benavidez and Caleb Plant to determine Canelo's next WBC mandatory. There's also 160 champion Jermall Charlo wanting a shot at Canelo and the WBA regular David Morrell. If I were Canelo I'll defend my belts against the undefeated 160 champ Jermall Charlo. Charlo, Benavidez, and Morrell though are all under PBC while Canelo has an open contract with Matchroom, he is indeed very close to Eddie Hearn and DAZN.
2291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 11, 2022, 04:15:49 AM
It is unbelievable what Bucks players are doing even without Giannis and Kris Middleton at the same time. I mean this team is keep winning games and they are missing their 2 best players. I used to think that Bucks was great thanks to Giannis, and even believed that Giannis alone couldn't do much if Kris didn't help so much with the scoring.

Now.. well I am not so sure, apparently Bucks is already good and Giannis is of course 2 time MVP and having a third MVP season nowadays, but that doesn't mean it’s like Lebron in Cavs and when you take him they sucked type of deal, it is actually good even without their MVP caliber player and that’s an amazing thing.

It was a job well done. But they were against a weak team though. They will visit the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow, another winnable or 50/50 game for them even without Giannis. I will only give them huge credit if they can beat the Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee this coming Tuesday without Giannis.

Giannis alone is very difficult to stop. Provide him with 4 players that can shoot anywhere and they are still good. Kris Middleton though is a big factor when it comes to the playoffs where the real game begins.
2292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Feel All The Emotions When We Gamble on: November 10, 2022, 03:46:09 PM
I am with a different perception. I gambled because I do not want to feel depressed and frustrated. I can say that I grow up over the years, and I call myself a responsible gambler now. Usually when I play online and land-based casinos, I already have a fixed budget which I don't care about losing.

I am more into sports betting nowadays. It is more of a challenge for me. I want to prove my own analysis. Here, sometimes I get frustrated but only a little knowing I don't bet big nowadays.
2293  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: November 10, 2022, 03:25:01 PM
I started investing in Bitcoin in 2016 and I don't think this year is the worst in crypto history. Maybe OP mentioned this because you and your friend lost a lot of money. I can feel the pain mate. 2018 is my most painful year of investing. Bitcoin's highest price was at $17k+ that year and it went $3k+ before the year ends. It was bad timing because I had my house constructed that year too. I was too worried and I lose hope and sold over 90% of my Bitcoins and other coins. I learned a hard lesson. I would've been a dollar millionaire by now if I haven't sold them and just let my house slow down in construction or even sold it.

Bitcoin and crypto are not really for the weak. Although I also heard about this before, it was just a different feeling once you experienced it. And the common saying that we only need to invest what we can afford to lose is of great value. Maybe if our investments grow a lot already that we cannot afford to lose them anymore, the best thing is to sell part of it so we can stop worrying about it.

Back to the current Bitcoin situation. It will bounce back mate. Its been proven over the years. I will also start with my new DCA starting next month.
2294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: November 10, 2022, 02:26:14 PM
I think it's very clear now as who duck who, I think that Spence wanted to fight Crawford, but it is Al Haymon that is making it hard for this fight and for sure they really wanted to fuck up Crawford by not offering any guaranteed price in his pocket.

Even Oscar Dela Hoya echo the sentiment of Crawford that indeed, it's hard to negotiate with Haymon and all they wanted is that they have all the advantage in the table. That is not supposed a negotiation should look like.

https://www.badlefthook.com/2022/11/4/23440631/oscar-de-la-hoya-threatens-to-expose-al-haymon-for-blocking-big-fights-boxing-news-2022

I am partly blaming Errol Spence as well, he is a PPV fighter. PPV fighters can demand because they are the cash cows in boxing. Teofimo Lopez and Terrence Crawford are just a few that can fuck up their own promoters because they knew they are superstars and are in demand. They can sign with any promoters easily. But Errol Spence remained silent and is not showing his eagerness to fight Crawford. Maybe he knows that he cannot beat the boogeyman even though Crawford is nearly a year inactive. What a shame. I am really disappointed with Spence. He is rich but does he even care about entering the Hall of Fame that every proud boxer wanted? With Spence's age, it is difficult for him to become a 3-division champion. I don't think becoming a 2 division champion without a lineal or Ring belt is enough to enter the Hall of Fame. Whereas Crawford already has 1 division undisputed, 2 divisions lineal, and an overall 3 division champion.

I am interested to hear everything Oscar De La Hoya wants to tell the public about Al Haymon. Although I think I already know around half of what he will be saying online. Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions is once the biggest before he was fucked up by his own CEO Richard Schaefer. Most of its fighters were later signed by Al Haymon's then newly found PBC. And there were fights that never happened due to promotional and network issues even if they were supposedly mandatory fights like the Jermall Charlo- Jaime Mungia match-up.
2295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 10, 2022, 01:39:39 PM
They're doing a good job and their standing is 10-3. They're up against the Wizards on Sunday while against the 76ers on Monday. So, starting today, they'll be having a good rest for the weekend until Sunday and be prepared for two straight games. Kessler did a good job for his entire playing time. These big men of Utah Jazz really are doing well whenever they're being used. This how it should be for the other teams that has big men.

I'm really giving them my support because even though they almost left with nothing, it didn't change the way they care for each other this how strong their chemistry is. And with their newly added teammates who also can play well, they are hard to beat and continue to hold the number one spot in the western conference. Since they are capable of doing such things without Gobert and Mitchell, I hope their NBA playoffs this season have also more positive results than the last 2 years.

I am really liking what the Utah Jazz is currently doing. No pressure from the coach and its players. They are a rebuilding team and are expected to lose a lot so there is nothing to lose to them anymore. The coach can easily transition his players according to his play since there are no demanding superstars to please and follow. The players at the same time can just play and enjoy their games while following a chemistry-first approach or their coach can just easily bench them.

Hopefully, they can continue this kind of momentum the whole season. It is really difficult to beat a team not depending on a single or just a few players.
2296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 10, 2022, 06:15:11 AM

The WBC Convention is ongoing and one of its latest actions is issuing a mandatory for its welterweight champion Errol Spence against ex-unified champion Keith Thurman. Keith Thurman is the third-biggest name in the division right now. But as popular as Thurman is, he is not the same fighter anymore, in nearly 6 years, he only fought 3 times and he struggled in those fights. Thurman doesn't even deserve a top 5 ranking but the WBC is one of the best when it comes to business exploitations. This seems like a sweet save by the WBC so Spence can avoid undefeated young prospects Eimantas Stanionis and Boots Ennis. Both will be high-risk with low rewards for Spence but they are supposed to be the mandatories for his WBA and IBF belts. And who knows, Spence will be ready against WBO champion Terrence Crawford who's turning 36 next year.

Errol Spence: current WBA/WBC/IBF champion
Pro record: 28-0-22 KOs

Keith Thurman: ex-WBA/WBC champion
Pro record: 30-1-22 KOs

This is not yet official but if Spence won't take this big easy fight, he will be stripped of his WBC belt and he might face either WBA or IBF mandatories the young and undefeated Stanionis or Boots. Spence can also move up to 154 and say goodbye to a possible undisputed fight against Crawford.

My personal take. This fight will happen since this is a big fight and should be very easy for Spence. Spence should be able to stop this past-prime version of Thurman or at least win an easy unanimous decision if he wants to stay safe.
2297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the perfect time to invest in Bitcoin on: November 09, 2022, 01:46:56 PM
Oh God, here we go again. What if after this the price drops again? Is that "another perfect time" to invest in bitcoin?

Why are we so busy guessing where the bitcoin price will go? If you already have bitcoins, just hold on. If you don't have one, then every day when the price drops, that's time to buy.
However, the title of this thread can be used to remind people who are afraid to buy when the price drops (maybe).

Right. I am a little sad that the market went deeper but somehow I cannot deny in my mind saying it is an opportunity to accumulate more. We might even see the price drop even more to like $15k something. We still have around 2 more years before the next halving so we better expect more traders to sell every small increase in price. The best thing for us here is to always DCA and think long-term.

At least if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 which is my minimum target in the next halving, we are x7 on ROI if we base to its current price.
2298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of not letting others know about your crypto holdings on: November 09, 2022, 01:25:36 PM
I always remember my cousin when he told me before to trust no one when it comes to money. It was a piece of advice because I used to let some of my friends borrow money but most of them aren't paying me back, especially when the time I needed it most. It is really true that people really change when it comes to money based on my experiences as well. It is better to keep all our financial assets secret as much as possible. It is enough to let 1 to 3 people you entrust most and give them a hint in case of emergency.
2299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2022, 01:03:30 PM
Kyrie Irving if not injured will always find a way to mess up his team. I bumped earlier a post that Irving is meeting NBA commissioner Adam Silver. I wonder about the results of the meeting. The season is still young but I don't see a potential for Brooklyn Nets to contend for a title. KD might push for a trade again which I believe he should. KD is still performing well but he is just wasting his years in Brooklyn. I don't know what he sees in Irving before he committed himself to Brooklyn before.

Anyways, they might hire Ime Udoka as its next coach. But imagine the image of the team. Cheesy
