581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you work for Bitcoins? (not bitpay etc) on: October 26, 2014, 09:06:40 PM

So we're seeing a trend in rising self-employed individuals which is bound to rise by year and we also see a trend of rising BTC use, so I am curious is there any overlap? I have personally freelanced before and getting paid in BTC was my preferred method since you can cashouts locally without any hassles and without the employer scamming you.

Possibly there is a correlation between BTC use and self-employed individuals. BTC enables world wide participation in the free market economy. We are really in the early phase of the world wide free market. In a hundred years many jobs could be carried out from home but not all, such as surgery or hospital jobs.

Don't worry when bitcoin will be 0.01$ this will not be a problem anymore.

Do you really think bitcoin will be $0.01 one day?   Undecided

I don't think that. I know that.
Nobody knows bitcoin price of next year.
583  Other / Meta / Re: In what jurisdiction on: October 26, 2014, 05:37:53 PM
Is this site housed?

As well as physical domiciles of all moderators/owners?

good questions
why is the domain owner name  privacy protected also ?
it should be public information
although it is not public,it is easy to know it
if this is an enterprise, the name of the owner should be public in the country where the enterprise has been made
the site has backups all across the world. moderators need their privacy to avoid thieves and scammers.
584  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why a bitcoin confirmation is needed?? on: October 26, 2014, 04:17:30 PM
Bitcoin once sent are sent,so why a bitcoin transaction over network is waited by some merchants, people or atms. It's just that until confirmation the bitcoins aren't considered usable. But to make transactions and dealings faster why wait for confirmations then??
Confirmations are needed to prevent abuse of the system. Without confirmations, how can you be certain a transaction did occur?

Topic should be moved to off-topic?
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vote, make bitcoin easily to display in machine on: October 26, 2014, 03:43:26 PM
he poll question should be modified.
1 BTC = 10,000,000 sat =  1 000 00 bits

What are you asking op?
587  Economy / Speculation / Re: WTF Price? Big move in a short time. BTC Whale is here again...(for buying) on: October 26, 2014, 03:19:46 PM
I aim to get to 25 BTC then just sit & see what happens.
I should reach that target by about March 2015.

Whatever happens it's a hell of a journey.

Why 25 and not 21?  21 is one in a million.

Don't believe idiotic, false assumptions w. zero info backing up the assumption.

Yes, it never will  happen that the price drop to $ 0.01.
There are to many investments and coin collectors for it to be  $0.01.   $500 or $1000 is more realistic, BTC will not be $0.01 any time soon.
589  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Panty Raid on: October 26, 2014, 02:21:51 PM
A serious terrorist threat was intercepted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently.

The DHS raided a lingerie shop, and confiscated panties for being weapons of mass destruction

This sounds like a hoax or joke. Is this news verified? How can panties be used as weapons?  Huh
590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think 1.00 BTC will worth more than $10,000.00 USD at any time in 2015? on: October 26, 2014, 02:14:48 PM
It depends on many factors. Near future is easy to predict, far future is hard to predict. It could be $10.000 USD in 2020.
I expect it to be $700-$1000.
591  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cop arrests random girl, takes her cell, steals nudes on: October 26, 2014, 02:07:45 PM
Some of them do much worse than that, I remember sometime back one of my friend was busted for having sex in car, the cop handcuffed my friend and took him to his car and told the girl to be remained seated nude in the car. After putting my friend in the car, he returned, molested (fingered) the girl for a while than told her to get dressed and then left them with a warning. They didn't filed a complaint because they knew that they didn't had any proof and the cop got away with it  Angry.

Oh my god, that's terrible. This is why we should always film police encounters.

Yeah. It's very bad to hear such stories. Hopefully police dashcams can help both prevent & prosecute this things to happen as well as protect officers from false accusation.
Could surveillance of the police prevent such cases?

595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Patrick Byrne: Cryptocurrency Will Be Bigger Than the Internet Itself on: October 25, 2014, 02:15:50 PM
All of the Overstock customers now have their wealth destroyed by Bitcoin in their sleep last night. What a wonderful public relations tactic. Maybe when your suicide cult followers are all dead then your earnings will go up a whole quarter per share.
If the Overstock customers do not own the private keys then they got Goxxed.  Cheesy

Bitcoin and the blockchain are currently existing as just a section of the internet and there for a part can't be bigger than its whole.
Myth. Bitcoin can be used without the internet. Paper wallets are one example, physical coins are another, sending bitcoin through SMS (dumb) phones is another, transmitting bitcoin via radio waves is yet another.

Bitcoin can and will be bigger than the internet. Because money is far, far bigger than the internet. Not everyone on this planet is online, but everyone uses money.
Cryptocurrrency can and will grow far bigger than the internet. We are in the beginning of a new wave in technology. Bitcoins are not just digital coins, they are the start of a completely new technological era.
596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A question for "scriptkiddies", are scripts evils? on: October 25, 2014, 02:07:12 PM
Is it safe to accept scripts, or for optimal safety avoid it completely? I have the feeling they are very easy to "have fun with" Cheesy.

Scripts should be inspected before execution. Scripts are in readable code and usually are not that big.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is up and people are like... on: October 25, 2014, 01:58:23 PM
Bitcoin is not up... if you are forgetting it was looking stable at 600 not so long ago and it is now at 400 so I would say it is still down.
Bitcoin was 10 not so long ago, the price fluctuations will continue.  Do you not expect big changes in bitcoin price?

By this time next year, if you will admit it, people will look at you with the mouth gaping open, shocked that you own a whole BTC..! Smiley

I really wish that would happen. $1000 will do.
$1000 can be reached again. It would be really interesting to see $2500
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are killing Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency as a whole on: October 25, 2014, 09:05:53 AM

Altcoins aren't killing bitcoin or crypto at all. Altcoins will kill themselves eventually because it'll get to the point where people just get tired of the same crap over and over. The best way to deal with all these alts is to just ignore them.
Most of the altcoins first go up in price and then go to the bottom. Sometimes they are scam or virus to steal BTC.
599  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 24, 2014, 07:16:19 PM
What do you folks thinking, will winter somehow stop this shit?

There is no winter in the equatorial hot zones of Africa, Asia, and Central America.

I'm talking about planet The Earth, not only about Africa or USA.

Do you think, winter will isolate the World from Ebola in Africa ?

That depends on the temperature in which the Ebola virus can survive outside of the host. I have no data about this.
Here in Alaska there are huge distances between people so spread would be very slow.
600  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is bitcoin having real value? on: October 24, 2014, 06:29:17 PM
i.e my main doubt is bitcoin has real money
and why for mining giving bitcoins and how it useful to bitcoin
or is this all just another virtual scam?

Bitcoin is a decentralized network and someone needs to decide if a payment transaction is correct or not correct. No central authority verifies the transactions, miners do this. To understand the technology completely read the bitcoin paper. The bitcoin network is used as a transfer of virtual currency.
