Jurgen Klopp's task is to bring Liverpool to be better prepared to face the team that always stops them in the Champions League, Real Madrid. Players from Liverpool should be more motivated now to keep them from being knocked out by Real Madrid all the time. A very tough task, yes of course it is a tough task. Apart from that they are in a bad condition, their opponent is Real Madrid, we know how El Real is doing in the Champions League.

If this matchup was about to happen in the last season then for me it would be pretty clear that FC Liverpool would be the big favorite here, because even though Real Madrid was the winner of the Champions League yet again last season, they were a very surprising winner this time and they had also a huge amount of luck a few times to even be in the final against Liverpool last season.
This year though it is a little different. For me Real has improved a little in comparison to last season while FC Liverpool seems to have a pretty hard time so far, especially in the english Premier League. For me this is a completely open game and very very hard to predict.

I just watched CR7 presentation in a stadium full of fans, it was certainly a full stadium. To some extent, everyone understands that he would like to continue his career in Europe, but it so happened that he was fully appreciated as a football player in Asia. Now he is the highest paid football player and can enjoy life, maybe he wanted everything to end differently, but who knows, he is a legend anyway.

I am also pretty sure, that it was not really very high up in Cristiano Ronaldo's wish list to let his career end at Al-Nassr and in the saudi arabian football league. I think he would have accepted pretty much any offer from a club that his still participating in the Champions League this year and that has chances to also play in that competition next year, because CR7 is that kind of player that wants to improve as many records as possible in order to always be remembered as one of the greatest.
Now he earns a ridiculously high amount of money, but he was already extremely wealthy before so i doubt that changes much for him and i also think that the stadiums won't be full every time.

There are many projects asking investors to stake their tokens for APY but they collapsed later for example Midas, they offered 17% APY on USDC, the token went from 38$ to 0 and their swap feature is shut down..
I am just trying to warn you about Centralised Finance tokens and platforms, avoid taking big risks with CeFi Platforms.
APY can be tempting at times, powerful enough to make you turn your back on the vital parts of the project, do not compare APY of a CeFi project with others especially when the project is not that popular.
Now that we are even in a bear market, any projects offering high yield is a big red flag, this is not the time to focus on earning rewards.

Sadly there were many such platforms that went down in the last few months. Midas is not the only one. If you have staked a lot of money on such platforms and they suddenly shut down then this basically means a total loss of your investment which could have severe consequences. Obviously you should only invest an amount of money into crypto (or invery financial product) that you can afford to lose.
Also as you already said, if the APY that is offered or promised very high, then there must be something wrong. In order to be able to offer 17% on a stable coin there really needs to work out everything perfectly and as soon as the market goes down, those APY's can not be sustained anymore.

One of the best signings of BVB is back to the training ground after missing out for a long time due to crucial condition. Sebastian Haller is back to training with Dortmund after suffering from testicles tumor. It was one of the difficult phase for the Ivory coast international who was at his best peak. But the good news to see him come back strong with agile energy put in more training section. Borussia Dortmund have the basic necessities to accommodate the confident striker. The club sitting at 6th position on the league table with 8W 1D 6L, such a poor start from the players this season.

That actually really is probably the best news for the club and also for the fans of Borussia Dortmund in the last few months or so. I was very impressed by the performances of Sebastian Haller when he still played for Eintracht Frankfurt and i also thought that this was a great signing by Borussia Dortmund. In the last few weeks of the first half of this season Dortmund showed some very bad performances and overall i think that it is totally deserved, that they are only on position 6 of the Bundesliga table at the moment. They could even have at least 6 points less or so because they had some pretty lucky wins.
With Haller i think they could be able to play better and more successful again.

Modric can continue performing good for another season or maybe two unless he gets a serious injury. His presence in the field is very important and his impact could be seen once he isn't fit or absent. His successors needs more time to improve considerably to fully replace him. I believe it will be a bad decision to let him go while he is still performing good..

In the world cup it was obvious again that Luka Modric still belongs to the best midfielders on the planet, even though he is already 37 years old. He is just pure class even though he is pretty old now. He has a great technique and his passes and especially his awareness on the pitch are probably still unmatched. I think though that his age could become a problem soon, because of the position he is playing. Usually central midfielders belong to the players that have to cover the biggest distance during a game and of course this gets harder the older you get. So maybe it would be a good move to only let him play as a 10 in the future. So he could still use all of his great skills, but does not have to run so much anymore.

Yes, that's an advantage when a club can successfully sign a contract with one of the football stars and for Cristiano Ronaldo this is all a mutually beneficial collaboration. It is undeniable that everyone's enthusiasm is focused on his big name in football. Especially now, after I checked Al-Nassr's official Instagram account, it has more than 7 million followers, that is the effect of Cristiano Ronaldo, who just announced a move to Al-Nassr's new club a few days ago.

I heavily doubt, that Al-Nassr will really make a profit with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo. If it is true, that they pay him around 200 Million € of salary each season, then there is no way, that they this huge amount of money will come back in, in the form of Jersey sales, marketing or higher TV license money.
I also doubt, that so many new people will start to watch the saudi arabian league now just because of CR7, because one big players does not make the league better. It still is a league that is many many tiers below the good european leagues and to see Cristiano Ronaldo play against those clubs is just not interesting.
In the end Al-Nassr is probably aware that they never make any money with Cristiano Ronaldo, but they also don't need to do that. Those saudi princes have so much money, they just don't care about that. They wanted CR7, so they bought him.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How dangerous is this on: January 03, 2023, 08:14:01 AM
I am trying to connect my wallet to a dex called position.exchange and I get a warning via my Trust wallet🤦, the warning tip is below
I visited the website through coinmarketcap just to be sure I got the right link and this is project token has over 2million dollars in daily volume, I don't know why the warning is up...
The funny thing is I have used the platform before and things went smoothly, I never got this same warning at the time, I think it's just a month ago.

I don't really know about position.exchange so i can tell you if this exchange is safe or not, but you already said, that you have used it before already and everything worked great so far.
I know though that this warning also comes if you want to interact with the site drip.community and this site is used by a lot of people since a year or so now and there also never was an issue there. The thing with drip.community is, that it is a contract that pays you 1% of your deposit every day, so of course this is a very risky investment, maybe that is why the warning is shown.
So yeah, just because Trustwallet does show this warning does not automatically mean, that there really is something wrong with the site you want to connect to.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best altcoin to look out for on: January 01, 2023, 06:55:08 PM
The year 2022 ce with a lot of instability in the entire crypto market with some altcoins such as Solana losing their value by almost 70%. Even the worth of BTC and ETH also dropped drastically living many people confused and lost huge funds to this market instability (Bear market as it is called).
As a new trader I would like to know from our experts, the altcoins with good potentials in this 2023.

Asking such a question in here is absolutely legit because that is the reason why this forum exists. If you are really a total newbie regarding cryptos, then be warned. Some of the answers you will receive if you ask a question like "what project is good to buy now" or "what project will rise in the future", will probably not be neutral answers to your question but just shill-answers of people that want you to buy the token that they are also invested in so they can dump on you.
As others in this thread already said, i think it could be a good move to buy some of the established projects now, because we are in a bear market. If you are buying now and are willing to hold a few years, then you should be able to make a nice profit.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 01, 2023, 06:50:53 PM
A tough game coming up for freiburg team they are currently occupying the second position and they will face wolfsburg in about twenty days, wolfsburg are a tough team they have been unbeaten for a long time and they had a perfect score in the last four games and they have beaten dortmund in the process, they will play away so that explaint why wolfsburg are the favourite high stake game for both teams i think it will be tight and a draw is highly possible.

After such a long break it is even harder to predict the outcome of games than it already is under normal conditions. I think that the streak of Wolfsburg before the break of the Bundesliga was very impressive and as you already said, they have beat some good teams during that streak, but i also think that streak is not that important anymore because of the long break now while the world cup was played. At the same time, it still has to be seen, how good Freiburg will come out of the winter break. As far as i know the team of Freiburg did not have any major injuries during the break and also the players that were at the world cup all came home healthy.

It's all around Ronaldo. It also seemed to be somewhat in line with expectations, but he has definitely opted for an evening hour in the sandbank. He will also have to deal with playing in front of empty stadiums. He has therefore clearly opted for the big money, sporting ambitions are apparently no longer there. You still have the Arab/African Champions League. Maybe he wants to win it again with a team. There were also few teams that had the financial means to pay Ronaldo, referring to the salary he asks for. I would have preferred to see him at a European top club. Isn't it suddenly very different for his family to settle there in an Eastern environment.

Apparently i am one of the few ones that are actually pretty surprised that Cristiano Ronaldo is really going to play for Al-Nassr in the future. I always thought that for him it is way more important to increase his records in the european competitions like his goal record in the Champions League. It is pretty clear now that he will stay at 140 goals. Messi is at 129 at the moment but Messi will probably still play 2 seasons at least for Paris Saint Germain so the chances of him overtaking Cristiano Ronaldo in that statistic are pretty high i think.
I guess that CR7 did not really have a viable option to go to a club that is competing in the Champions League.

When people say that FTX was the worst thing that happened to crypto in the long time, maybe we should back up and get some perspective on that. Things were already messed up. As in comparison, total crypto marketcap was thriving during covid and recovered almost instantly to ATH after tesla dumped their crypto. But LUNA was the thing that broke everything. FTX was nothing compared to that.

Well i kinda agree. I also think that the whole events around Terra (Luna) also where a major incident within the crypto space, because it was also a major company which was also in the top 10 in terms of marketcap if i remember correctly that fell apart very fast. Now with the happenings around FTX people often forget about that because the FTX events are just more recent. I don't think though that the Terra incident had bigger impacts on the crypto world than the bankruptcy of FTX. Yes, the prices went down even more in terms of percentages when UST lost it's peg but the main reason for that is that the prices were higher back then obviously. So those two events are hard to compare in my opinion.

Bayern Munich cannot afford to miss some good players in this game against PSG. Both teams are considered the strongest teams in the world, but the difference is that the bench at PSG is a bit stronger. PSG have big ambitions to win the CL, but in Bayern Munich they may have the strongest opponent imaginable. Speaking of strong teams, I can remember a match where Bayern Munich completely outplayed Manchester City and eventually won 1-3. That was perhaps the best game ever played by a team in the CL. But that City team no longer exists, then they were really a lot less than now.

The matchup of Bayern Munich  vs Paris saint germain is definitely the highlight of the first round of the knockout stage this year. It is kinda sad that this match happens so early in the competition because both teams involved definitely belong to the big favorites to win the Champions League this year. For me the outcome of this match is totally open. PSG probably has a little more quality in the offense, but Bayern is a very strong team with good players on every position.

Toni Kroos has announced his retirement from playing football at the end of the season!  the time has come to say goodbye to another champion.  He played excellent football.  What do you think you like him as a player?

Has he really announced his retirement now officially? I could not find any official news that would confirm that. Not from him, from Real Madrid or from anyone else. The last thing that i heard about that was Toni Kroos saying himself that he will not play for another club anymore, which means that there is still the possibility that he is prolonging his contract with Real Madrid. He will turn 33 in a few days so it think he could still play 2 or 3 years at a very high level. Luka Modric is 37 years old already and still playing at a very high level which was again to be seen at this years world cup. So as long as there is no official news about Kroos' retirement i still think he keeps on playing.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs is looking to buy crypto, why? on: December 31, 2022, 03:02:03 PM
GM/GN everyone.
Help me understand this, please.
Following the collapse of the FTX, which impacted valuations and reduced investor interest, Goldman Sachs aims to invest or spend tens of millions of dollars buying crypto companies. Which indicates to me that they clearly see some benefits of blockchain if it's under their control.
Why would one of the biggest investment banks in the world want to buy FTX's scraps?

As others in this thread have already mentioned, Goldman Sachs is not talking about the buying what is left of FTX and Alameda to reopen it or something like that. They are talking about the fact that the bankruptcy of FTX has caused a massive crash of basically every crypto project out there and this could be a good opportunity to buy into some good crypto projects with strong fundamentals because such a project has a very high chance to pump again once the next bull market arrives.
This does not even mean that Goldman Sachs is having a positive view on cryptos or something, it just means that they maybe see a good investment opportunity here.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: December 30, 2022, 08:24:56 PM
EPL is the toughest of all the Europe leagues. That's why you see clubs in the EPL table who are already close to the relegation zone end up winning clubs in the top four tables of other leagues like Italy, Germany and France.
If u browse the result of the Europa matches played by England clubs like westham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Aston villa and many other England clubs who haven't crossed the EPL top-4 table for the past 7 years, you will understand that EPL is very tough.  For that, one wouldn't underrate any England team in any Europe competition.

The English premier league has a huge advantage in comparison to the other european top football leagues. It gets significantly more money from the TV stations for the rights to broadcast the games than the other leagues. This means that even clubs that are in the bottom of the table of the premier league get more money from the TV rights then for example a top club in the italian, german or spanish league.
That being said, this does not automatically mean, that the premier league is also the best one. The fact that, every club gets a lot of money does also mean that every player gets more expensive. That is also the reason why premier league clubs are paying huge transfer fees for mediocre players.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful with new projects that introduce new Stable coins on: December 30, 2022, 08:14:10 PM
Be sure to understand how a Stable coin is designed before storing your assets using them, most stable coins have failed since last bear market season, from USDN to UST and USN, there are many more that I don't mentioned.
Some new projects will come as whatever they like, either DeFi or Smart contract and they will introduce new Stable coin, be careful, in fact I don't see any reason why you should keep your dollars using a new Stable coin when we have USDT, USDC, DAI and BUSD..
Centralised or Decentralised you can just make a pick from USDC , USDT, DAI or BUSD

I definitely agree with your statement and i can only give the same warning. To issue a stablecoin that really is stable and also reliable during a heavy bear market like the one that we are in right now requires a huge amount of money. In the end every stablecoin that is minted and issued by a company needs to be backed 1:1 with a real $ or € that is owned by that company otherwise that stablecoin will not be very stable once some big hickups are happening in the crypto market.
I also use USDT, USDC and BUSD as the stablecoins of my choice, even though i don't really like the fact that they are all centralized, but it is what it is.

I don't know how far this noise will reach, but the fact is that if Benfica sells him, then Benfica has some embezzlement this season which could even cause problems in winning the title because Enzo is a good midfielder and Benfica needs him. Of course, there were games in which Benfica managed to have excellent results even without Enzo playing, but if one of those other midfielders was injured, Benfica would not be in trouble because they would still have another better midfielder who is Enzo, anyway, I hope that the board of directors benfica know what you're doing because in every season when benfica is at the top or close to the top and then they sell players they start to drop a lot in terms of points and then they don't win the league

I am always surprised that apparently even the top clubs are acting so hasty sometimes with their transfers and it seems like this is especially the case after big international tournaments like the European Championship or after the World cup. Of course Cody Gakpo and also Enzo Fernandez showed some great performances in the world cup, but i still surprises me that just because of those few games suddenly every big club seems to want to sign them. If that really is the case then i think those clubs should be a little more careful. I mean Enzo Fernandez is a good player but 120M€ for a player that has a market value of 55M€ is just way to much in my opinion.
678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about new project on Solana Amulet Protokol on: December 30, 2022, 02:57:06 PM
Amulet Protokol
Amulet Protocol (hereinafter Amulet) is a decentralized insurance protocol created for the Rust-based ecosystem, starting with the Solana blockchain.
Amulet has developed an innovative and open insurance model that not only effectively solves the common problems of existing decentralized insurance protocols, but also creates a new paradigm shift for the entire insurance sector.

Well i guess that you are part of the team of Amulet protocol and are advertising here for your projects, which is absolutely ok for me by the way because you do it in a non-annoying way. That being said, i think you have a pretty bad timing to launch your project on Solana now. As others in this thread have already mentioned, Solana is having a very rough time at the moment because FTX (and therefore Alameda) went bankrupt a few weeks ago obviously and they were the main investors into Solana. That is why a lot of people lost a lot of confidence into the whole Solana ecosystem. Maybe you could switch to a different network.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you avoid anything funded by Alameda Research / FTX ? on: December 29, 2022, 08:59:17 PM
I just sold my 150 Solana out of FUD ( thinking I might buy it back at $5 soon ), and I am now worried many other projects were backed by Alameda Research. Are these projects doomed too, or can some of them ( like Helium ) survive and eventually thrive again ?

Alameda was one of the biggest and most active investors withing the crypto space in the last few year or so and until a few weeks it was kind of a seal of approval and quality if a new project received backing from Alameda. This fact alone created interest of small investors to maybe invest into that project also once it is tradeable or to join a pre- or even a private sale if possible.
Now with the bankruptcy of FTX this whole construction crumbled. Project that received a huge share from their funding from FTX could really get in trouble. On the other hand if Alameda invested with stable coins and if those projects already received those stablecoins, then it should not really matter that alameda does not exist anymore.

According to Goal.com, Bellingham is prioritizing Real Madrid over Liverpool now.
I must admit that I'm not surprised to hear this news at all. Because Real Madrid has a really different place for this kind of very skilled youngsters. It is like a dream team for most of the future superstars and it has been like this for so many years as well. Liverpool needed to have things that should attract his attention to itself. But it doesn't I'm afraid. We can talk about the Champions League but Real Madrid are superior to every other European team there by far already. Liverpool had better look for other youngsters.

I am not completely sure, but goal.com is one of the more reliable sources as far as i know. That being said, they are only reporting that he is more in favor of joining Real Madrid now then he is of joining Liverpool. This can also mean absolutely nothing. I always thought that he would want to join an english club but we just have to wait and see. Maybe the fact that Liverpool just signed Cody Gakpo could also be a hint that they won't go for Bellingham anymore or that they think that their chances of signing him are pretty low anyway. In the end the money of Liverpool is also limited and they already have debts of 208 Million $.
