661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 07, 2023, 05:30:16 PM
That's right, Inoue is not your ordinary boxer who's is easy to predict and evident to see his limits. Currently, there's no boxer that managed to unlock Inoue's weakness and Donaire was the only boxer who actually gave him a good toe-to-toe fight but even that fight wasn't enough to show his weakness and up until now, it's still a mystery and it will be an expensive move by any boxer just to know what is it.

For weakness of Inoue to unfold, he just needs to fight a better boxer than he is.  He may be dominated the bantamweight division, but I do not think that he will do the same in the super bantamweight.  Super Bantamweight is a different division and there are several known boxers that can possibly defeat Inoue in this division.  The boxer in this division have heavier punches and more resistance to blows or punches, and since Inoue is taking a shortcut, he probably doesn't know the extent of the punching power of this division.

I very much agree, however, this is what the sport of boxing is supposed to be. The best boxers should challenge the other best boxers in another weight division or in their present weight division. This will bring the sport forward again and not need to become a comedy show to get more attention similar to Jake Paul. Fulton vs. Inoue, Tank vs. King Ry and Haney vs. Lomanchenko are good fights for the fans and the sport.

Yes, that's how it's supposed to be but didn't you guys noticed that some of the boxers who now holds their belts did get away with their supposed mandatory fights? The guys at lightweight, welterweight, super-welterweight and even super-middleweight are getting some perks to hold their belts much longer and taking away the chances from the rising boxers to have their shot.

But anyway, at least we got a few good fights this year. Right?
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 07, 2023, 03:18:55 PM
Booker has always been a bit of a weak trash talker, and that will continue to be like that for a long time considering that's a bit about someone's character and not something about their talent.

Booker and Doncic's argument was funny, but it was clear that it wouldn't grow any further. As long as there is no physical violence in this regard, I find such quarrels amusing.
Phoenix was a really dangerous team, as you all said. Having both Durant and Booker on the team offers more offensive options. They became one of the duos that scored 35 points each. It's hard to defend that. A healthy Phoenix will pose a threat to all opponents.

Good thing about their conflict is they don't really settle in a physical violence, but they put up numbers and fill the stat sheet and outplaying each other. That's what the fans wants to see between an individual rivalry.
Phoenix and Mavs had a good game as well as the superstars for both teams. Looking forward for both of these teams in the playoffs. Hope they'll have to face each other in a 7 game series.

I'm also looking forward to see that, their rivalry might happen again in the upcoming playoffs because both teams already got a good chance of participating the said series and for sure there are also a lot of fans out there from the respective teams who are also looking forward for the same thing like us.

Probably, this time, the Phoenix Suns can give some resistance towards the Mavericks and what happened last playoffs might not happen this time as the Suns are now heavier in terms of defense and especially their offense. Hopefully CP3 will be consistent enough because he now got more chances to finally have his own championship ring.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 07, 2023, 01:01:06 PM

Exactly the reason why I don't usually wager on over/under because that specific option gives me an headache as it is real hard to predict if the total outcome will be over or under.

In soccer, it is somehow easier especially if the teams are not that good but in basketball, it is different because even a weak team can still produce a high scoring game and sometimes even a strong team can also produce a low scoring game.

That is why I mostly do spreads and moneyline because those ones are less stress for me.

Yup! that was it, It really gives me a headache that is my I haven't dealt a bet in over/under it is way harder to predict, and if you are watching the whole game while still thinking about when to bet I can never really enjoy the game that much because I am now focusing my bets than with the game itself, it is much stressful if it works for him then I am happy about it but where is the thrill in a bet when you not lose, surely it is a win and loses situation and certainly I don't really want to stress myself over it, and I am betting my extra money and not the money on my savings account so not to worry so much,

Yes, instead of enjoying the game after you placed your bet, you will always watch how the score goes and give some prediction about the likelihood of the total outcome which removes the entertainment to our side as aside from bettors, we are also a fan of the NBA games. Besides, I don't also find the odds of over/under tempting enough.

Lots of games again tomorrow, NBA prepared eight games for us to bet and enjoy.

Wizards -6.5 vs Pistons
76ers -1.5 vs Timberwolves
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 05, 2023, 08:30:22 PM
I also see a lot of similarities in Haney's style with Mayweather, which I don't like, because they handle everything about technical boxing very well, these are things that make them much more intelligent, of course we as fans don't like it , because what we are looking for is always the combinations, the strategies, the techniques and above all the way in which the boxers will react to certain attacks that the boxers give.

Whether we like or not, there are indeed some boxers like Devin Haney and Mayweather Jr. who are focusing more about technical because boxing is all about score and these types of boxers is quite hard to defeat because their defense is also tight while giving them a chance to act fast for a counter punch. And as long as they won't be KO'd in the middle of the fight, it's safe to assume that they will win it.

I can't blame you if you hate the way they perform because that is just boring to see, a fight full of technicalities is not a good sight to see. I'd rather watch a whole day full of knockouts and toe-to-toe fight as that is more entertaining rather than watching a single technical fight.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 05, 2023, 06:56:19 PM
So my question now is that can someone use gambling as a means of earning living?

Yes, it is indeed possible to make a living and also earning some by means of gambling. It's not already that surprising especially in the times we are in now where almost everywhere we go, we can still do gambling whether if it's physical casino or offline casino as there are a lot of established platforms who offers sports betting and as well as casino games.

Although, I cannot really advice doing that OP because making gambling as your primary source of income may lead into some path that you wouldn't want to be in. It's still much better for us to treat gambling as a past time and to entertain ourselves so that we can avoid such experience and situations.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 05, 2023, 06:27:01 PM
I just saw the news about Ja Morant. Big contract, big endorsements, rising NBA career and he ends up doing silly things like this. I think he needs a good mentor before anything else.

After all, he is just a kid yet to be a man who got a huge contract worth $200 Million. So it's somehow expected that he will end up doing foolishness and buying some expensive things in just a whim or if he feels like it but I didn't expect that he would end up doing this. What he lack is a mentor that will guide him professionally and as an individual to avoid doing such thing again in the future.

Quoted all of those who like me, put their bets on the Bucks just right now, and saying that "We Lose Our Bets". Cheesy  Cheesy
Not a good day for me, and to some here as well.

Surely It was a close game the Bucks were really winning in the 3rd quarter but the 76ers have transient and gone from not getting the lead into leading the game, and it was a game where my luck had run out because all of my bets right now has lost, for sure all of my other bets aswell was pretty much close aswell, both got a great spread and both teams was really equal in their footing, but I was surprised because Giannis Antetoukoumpo have played in this game but they still lost,

My luck runs out all bet was lost as well but surely I am not upset because I got a good winning in the UFC because of Alexa Grasso so I am pretty much very positive right now, but seeing all my bets on NBA like these, I think I think to rest again, but right now I will post my picks later for tomorrows games,

Washington Wizards VS Toronto Raptors SCORE 109 - 116 - LOST

Miami Heat VS Atlanta Hawks SCORE 117 - 109 - LOST

Milwaukee Bucks VS Philadelphia 76ers SCORE 130 - 133 - LOST

Sacramento Kings VS Minnesota Timberwolves SCORE 134 - 138 - LOST

Do you also watch some of the basketball games that you bet on? I have been betting on over / under for quite a while and the worst in Basketball is when you pick "under" and in the very last second the game ties and goes into overtime and your bet is in shambles because overtime counts towards the total. In basketball it is even worse than in any other sport because the probability for a game to tie is lower. In soccer you would expect a draw in the last minute or a goal that could happen. But overtime destroying your bet is annoying.

668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 04, 2023, 08:16:37 PM
I remember when Inoue turned pro, he was hyped a lot in Japan. The kid refused to continue as an amateur after failing to qualify in the Olympics and went to pro. He picked a Ph national champion with a decent record and I thought about how he dared an experienced pro on his debut. I was hoping Inoue will lose. We'll then, Inoue stopped his foe in his debut and after just 3 wins, he dared to face future world champion Taguchi and won. The rest is history, after 5 wins he fought for a world title, becoming the fastest Japanese to become a world champion and breaking the record of the current 115 champion, Kazuto Ioka.

Now there is no stopping for Inoue's ambitions as he wants to become a 4-division world champion and this time in order to match Ioka's 4-division championship again, the most in Japanese boxing. We will see if Fulton allows that to happen.

It's a long way to go for Inoue to become Japan's next 4 division world champion and be probably in the category of 5 division world champ with Naoko Fujioka, sixth world might be a stretch for him, but we will see.

And he has a good chance against Fulton here, it might be his biggest test so far, but with the way Inoue is improving and we might not see his prime years yet, he might achieved that feat and tie Ioka's record for a Japanese boxer.

He is still in his prime, so I don't want to limit the possibility of him achieving more success in the future. In my opinion, Inoue is an extraordinary fighter. He is a heavy hitter, just like Manny Pacquiao. If he can take care of his body and conditioning, he will most likely still be a great boxer even if he goes up to challenge the big fighters in higher divisions.

669  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: March 03, 2023, 07:34:00 PM
Since strategy are always changing in trading, what is the relevance of experience? Who would you trust the most for trading tips,
An old trader who has had better days and mostly still relevant because they have a strong reputation for the fact that he has been trading for a while, or would you trust a new trader who is hot in the market and fresh with new strategies?
You can ask for advices from experienced traders but you should not rely your final decision from them. It’s your trade so you should be responsible whatever the outcome of it. And if you don’t want to fall from disappointments, then never let others control your trades, but instead develop your own strategies in trading, that way even if you lose, at least you also learn from that experience. But never trust someone for the success of your own trades.
670  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Trade on Emotions on: March 03, 2023, 06:56:40 PM
This comes with practice because getting emotional is human nature while not getting emotional is the feature of a seasoned trader. Often newbie traders who did not take part in dummy trading take decisions based on emotions which tend to be wrong most of the time but there is nobody to correct them right away.

A background of trading in other speculative assets and dummy trading might help new crypto traders understand how the market works and when to trade.

Buying low and selling high has been an age old method to profit. This should never be underestimated and misunderstood.
It’s a normal thing that we always carry our emotions on whatever things we are certainly doing. Because if there are no emotions, we can’t feel that there is life to it. However, trading has a different case, the more you trade without emotions involved, the higher the chances you will succeed. But actually, its hard to eliminate emotions from our own self, but if we can control it, then it would mean a lot for the success of our trading.
671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to convert my money to bitcoin because of our current banking system in m on: March 03, 2023, 06:38:13 PM
I live in Nigerian and since our presidential election, the our local fiat became scarce due to change in the newly redesign of the currency which makes it difficult for most people here to get physical cash for business and daily transactions because the banking system is overloaded with too many internet transactions making it hard for me to access my cash.  So now I want to convert my whole cash in my bank account to bitcoin but don’t know if is a good idea for me or not. I know in crypto world, it will be easy to access my money but the issue is, will my money be same value when I invest all of it in bitcoin .

Because literally in banking system for example, if you have $5000 that will be the value in 3 to 5 months and will add a little interest in it so my question is-  I don't fully know how bitcoin works. Is it the same way with the banking system? Will I get more value or less value in future times?
Your physical cash might have chances to depreciate in the future, unlike bitcoin it’s highly volatile so it has bigger chances that it’s present value will still grow in the future, or it may drop quickly when you least expect it, so the risks is still there. I suggest you keep some physical cash and convert some into bitcoin, but always remember to convert only an amount you can afford to lose. Bitcoin is still uncertain in the future, but it will be life changing if ever it’s price suddenly reaches its highest peak and turn you highly profitable that time.
672  Economy / Economics / Re: How we survive food shortages on: March 03, 2023, 06:20:16 PM
You might want to rephrase the cryptocurrency part because I couldn’t understand it one bit.

But to answer your question — chances are, food wouldn’t be literally inaccessible. It’s just that food will end up being really really expensive in a food shortage, so if you can’t afford the surplus, you’re screwed.

So the solutions are obviously:

- Work hard and smart so you can continue affording food even if food becomes expensive.
- Try growing your own food.
Increase your income and increase your food resources, that way you will no longer feel food shortages as you have enough money to buy for them or you grow your own food that’s why foods are now very accessible at your own yard. But never expect that foods will be back to cheaper prices same before. There is endless inflation so expect that prices will grow every now and then.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Willing to invest on bitcoin but having some challenges. on: March 03, 2023, 05:55:51 PM
Your will is really driving you to learn more. It must be difficult for you, but I am shocked that you've found bitcoin and are starting to learn from it, even if you are in a remote area. What I've suggested to you is that you download a pdf about Bitcoin by searching on Google, as it can save you more battery than always opening your internet. Try to read it. Though I know you want to access the forum to learn, it is difficult in your situation. You can just browse the forum when you have internet access, so make it count. read as much of the thread.
I admire your high willingness to learn, and this situation now makes a great challenge for you on how to learn and invest in bitcoin despite of no electricity at your own area. But I trust you that you won’t quit in the end as bitcoin will always be a good and profitable investment, you just have to learn it the right way and be aware of its risks before you finally decided to entrust your money into bitcoin. In the end, even if you lose, you can still re invest until you succeed.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people go into gambling? on: March 02, 2023, 09:37:43 PM
Why do people go into gambling?
I asked this question here because I can't get the answer.
However, in my observation, I found out that most people go into gambling because they think that's the easiest way to make big money.
Please is it true?
Probably, that could be right particularly for high risk takers. Who knows, they could be instant millionaires so taking some risks might paid off. But that type of gamblers do not stay longer in the gambling industry as they can used up all their money without gaining and live life the hardest way. I still prefer to gamble with a little bit of entertainment and maybe anticipate some profits too. That way, we can be responsible gamblers without compromising our hard-earned money.
675  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: March 02, 2023, 11:19:05 AM
Most people do. I could have done this, I should have done that but for some reason I haven't. It is not healthy to overthink our past mistakes. Maybe they weren't mistakes at all. Maybe those mistakes were the part of our learning process.

Oscar Wilde once said:

"Experience is the name we give to our mistakes."

The other saying is:

"To make money, you need to spend (or lose) money first."

Well, we do have our own regrets in certain phase of our lives. Even people who are living in luxury are not excuse from it. But the good thing is, we don’t let that regrets bother our future as it’s part of our life’s learning process. If we lose, then so be it. That won’t mean that we will lose again in the future.

Letting go of our regrets even if it’s hard is really beneficial so we can grow and move forward. After all, we live life not to regret but to live it the fullest and be the best of what can make us happy.

676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 01, 2023, 09:56:49 PM

We know gold is very precious metal, but Bitcoin is much more expensive than gold. Bitcoin will cross $100k after halving in 2024 ie if I invest $3000 in Bitcoin now then there is a chance of getting 10x after 2024. If I get $30000 from investing $3000, nothing can be as valuable as Bitcoin. I explained this formula to my wife at night and she was not willing to give me her jewelery at first but today she told me by herself that you can sell my jewelery and invest in Bitcoin. At present I am forced to sell my wife's jewelery as I have no fiat money.
I seek advice from expert investors/holders/users of this forum,,,,
whether selling my wife's jewelery and investing on bitcoins makes sense?
Is it reasonable to invest in gold rather than bitcoin?
Your intention is good, but your action towards it may be wrong. I don’t suggest selling your wife’s jewelry so you can invest in bitcoin, you might lose them all along the way. And you might be blame by your wife if that happens. Bitcoin investment has its own risk, and you should not take those risks if you are not ready yet. That way, you can be free from future losses, but if you really want to invest, then save first.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 27, 2023, 07:53:12 PM
Stamina was always been a problem for Mark Magsayo, I even thought that maybe it was because they don't have a good place where to jog as I have always seen them jogging on the second Mactan bridge in Cebu when he was still with the ALA stable but that problem still exist even if he was there in the US, though there is a little improvement but still it is noticeable.

I have to agree with you regarding the stamina concerns for Magsayo.

But since changing head trainer in October last year, I'm sure his camp already working out for a long on how to improve Magsayo's stamina.

After all, it's not that he's really getting totally exhausted the entire fight but rather just a noticeably lacking strength of his punches. Magsayo was able to survive the 12-round fight against Rey Vargas and just needs a good adjustment on how to make his stamina last longer to be able to keep also his strength last long.

I'm sure that Mark Magsayo and his camp learned something about his last encounter with Vargas, whether if it's stamina or endurance to finish the whole 12 rounds without giving any huge signs of exhaustion. It's impossible to think that Magsayo haven't improved even for just a little bit after that fight as Vargas gave him a nightmare after that and I believe that became his driving force to thrive even more to be a champion once again in the future. Now, if he will still fail against Figueroa, then maybe he's just another Philippine boxer that will come and go.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 27, 2023, 06:42:59 PM
Or make sure that Fulton will KO Inoue in the early rounds to not give Inoue a chance to adjust and comeback on the later rounds.

A forced attempt to Knock Out Inoue in the early rounds might be a dangerous tactic.

Instead, just keep with Inoue at all times doing more scores and attempting for the KO punch if found a good spot.

Inoue is not that dumb to let Fulton KO him in the early rounds or in the entire match. The Japanese boxing IQ is at the highest level.

Exactly! That will be a very dangerous attempt for Fulton and his camp for planning an early assassination on the first few rounds to defeat Inoue, they should think about it carefully because I strongly believe that Inoue and his camp are already looking at those factors and that might be an expensive mistake as Inoue might anticipate it already.
Other than that, Steph Fulton doesn't have a good ratio on his knockouts and it's much better for them to prepare for an early attempt that might be made by the other camp as Inoue is the one who got a good KO ratio especially on the first couple of rounds.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 27, 2023, 05:38:06 PM
It will be the biggest comeback and no team has made it when down 27 points or more.

Is this in general or just only on the Lakers' game history?

This season, Lakers 2-5 now, when trailing 25 points or more. They were also down 25 against the Portland Trailblazers.

And biggest in James comeback in James career.

I agree with what has been said on AD, he seems to be responding on what James said previously that as a team they need to perform very well. And with the likes of Vanderbilt, very resilient in defense and offense too could have a positive impact to Davis.

That was the biggest comeback as they are trailing with 27 points, which I also remember that the commentators in the game earlier that the Lakers last comeback with the same points trail was way back December 2002. Can you imagine that the team took a long 2 decades until the same record was recovered.

Anyway, we can really see that the games now are pretty much more intense compared to the games before the All-Star break. Now they are really fighting and it seems that the Lakers made a wise move.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 26, 2023, 07:18:15 PM
Here are my picks for tomorrow's games

Milwaukee Bucks VS Phoenix Suns

The stake odds for this game are 1.65 for the Bucks and 2.30 for the Suns, right now Wesley Matthews, can not play, Giannis Antetokounmpo is doubtful if he can play while Landry Shamet, and Kevin Durant can not play for the Suns, so for me the I could surely go with the Bucks because even without Giannis the Bucks are doing great right now, so my pick is the Milwaukee Bucks,

I agree with you. The Bucks have a strong team and can definitely win at home and on the road. It will be interesting to see how Crowder performs against his former team, but I think the Bucks have enough talent to come out on top. Even without Giannis, they have shown that they can still compete and win against tough opponents.

Same here, I also got the Milwaukee Bucks on my bets list for the games today. In-fact, I'm watching it now live and the Bucks are currently leading the game, and is up by 5 points in the 2nd quarter. Still a long way to go though, but I'm confident that they can still win today as they are still a strong team even without Giannis helping them.

The Wizards ML is also quite tempting to bet because the Chicago Bulls are really messing things up recently, just like the Heat. They are hard to predict these days.
