741  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you still advised more buy and store? on: November 03, 2023, 09:53:18 AM
This thread was created last April this year. If OP followed most advice to continue storing bitcoin regularly then there's an expected income minimum of 20% of the total capital.

The point is that most experienced bitcoin investors will continue to buy and horde until or even after bitcoin halving. Bitcoin cycles in the past always led to ATHs a year after the halving. So even at the current price of $35k, there is still a huge room for growth. Even reaching the previous ATH of $69k is already 200% of its current price. But most are expecting another ATH by 2025, who knows how far bitcoin will reach that time? The good news is, we still have plenty of time and opportunities to save and invest.
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: November 03, 2023, 09:30:36 AM
If you are still gambling in your old days then you lived a unfulfilling life already because at a young age you should have set your strength in your dreams and goals, by old age I expect you to be relaxing and enjoying the little time you have left, remember that every thing about you at that time is old, your age, your heart and your brain, you shouldn't be gambling at a old age, and now that you are still young its best to work smart and harder so that you won't have to keep trying to make some money at a very old age, that's not a good thing to pray for.

The younger you are the higher your strength, this is why it's good to stay focus and avoid wasting your youth days on things that doesn't matter, the best time of our lives is our young age, once you passed that there is no going back, some people are full of regrets because they wasted their time, do not be like such people, do something that will keep bringing you money if when you are old and can't work anymore.

So you really think that gambling is a means of making regular income? I thought gambling is a means of entertaining people. I visited land-based casinos and old people are also there. They looked rich and they were entertained while playing games. I also noticed that the majority of people who play bingo in the mall where I usually make groceries are old women. I observed they were fetched by cars and some of them even had servants outside or strolling inside the mall while waiting. So I assume those people were successful otherwise they wouldn't play for big amounts of money. I would never judge old people gambling as having unfulfilled lives.

I dream of getting old having a farm and a business. And I will continue to gamble responsibly especially betting on my favorite sports.
743  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: November 03, 2023, 07:52:57 AM
In the end, the best level of population depends on a country's economy and its ability to provide them with great services while at the same time good employment with standard compensations.

At the moment, the top 3 most densely populated countries are Monaco, Singapore, and Bahrain. These 3 countries are also very rich. Based on the IMF records of GDP (PPP) per capita, Singapore is 3rd, Monaco is 4th and Bahrain is 24th. But as we also noticed, these countries are just very small, especially Monaco and Singapore which looked like metro cities.

Bigger countries with a huge population density however are mostly developing and poor. Here in my country, millions are forced to seek jobs overseas due to the lack of opportunities and lower compensation.

Shopify Rebellion- After another very poor season I won't be surprised if the players will finally disband.

I have said this for YEARS: as long as Bulba is in command of this team, they will NOT get any success that they deserve. Mechanically gifted players held back by a coach that has the knowledge of the 2016 Dota scene and hasn't evolved since then.

Lol! I have the same opinion on Bulba. I still don't get it he remained with them for many years already. I even began to wonder if he has deep connections with EG's management or ownership. I was glad that Shopify Rebellion was formed but only to be surprised that Bulba is still with them. Cheesy

Meanwhile, ESL Kuala Lumpur will start its qualifiers in more than a week. Maybe most of the teams before that are settled already with their line-ups. But the biggest question to me is how will DOTA 2 fare next season when the DPC points system is taken out. I hate to say that the game might continue dropping down in numbers but maybe there are new ideas and innovations next season that will provide a much-needed boost.
745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 03, 2023, 06:08:57 AM
It's interesting to see that post-Harden Philadelphia is doing well with a great start. They are currently 3-1 with their only defeat against the Bucks on the road whom they only trailed by a point.

The Pelicans once again are playing strong especially if they are complete. But while the season just started, Zion was rested against the Pistons today. So it seems like there is something wrong with his physical condition once again. It will be very sad if he suffers another season-ending injury. And this season starts Zion's nearly $200 million 5-year contract.
746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 03, 2023, 04:53:42 AM
This pops on my social media, Stevenson is fuming mad about "Suga" Sean O'Malley, UFC's bantamweight champion. It seems that Sean wanted to fight Shakur? Recently we have seen Francis Ngannou almost upsets Tyson Fury.

Since a crossover fight has some big profit, they are making some drama to hype the fans and make it seem like they have a beep until they finally meet in the ring. This is just business and I can't blame them if they wanted to have such a fight since they are still in their prime and their popularity is quite high, they are using it to make money and that's just how the way it is for them. It's obvious that they are hoping to fight in the Middle East as well where the payment is a juicy and life-changing opportunity.

This is also what I'm thinking when I saw news about Suga O'Malley mentioning Shakur Stevenson as his possible opponents in the future. I mean he wanted to follow the footsteps of no less than Conor McGregor who become one of the most successful MMA fighter who did go over boxing and fight Floyd Mayweather.

And perhaps this is a insurance for him that if he will ever retire from MMA, then maybe he could find a worthy opponent in the future that could bring him money. And currently, Shakur is very hot so why not Suga uses his name and hype it?

If only Dana is paying its fighters at least half of what boxing stars are given then maybe its fighters won't dream about getting humiliated and knocked out in a boxing fight. All of them want that big money of course. The Pink Poodle is still under a UFC contract but I am sure that once it is coming to its end he will start to negotiate with the big names in boxing like Shakur and Tank.

I am happy that Ngannou got those big bucks. And another round of at least $10 million is on the way since he only lost to a very close fight with Fury which means the demand continues. So far both Matchroom and PBC are vying for their bids on Ngannou to match him against their own stars AJ and Wilder. But as much as I like Ngannou to score an upset over Fury, I still believe that he just had the perfect night while the champion had his worst night. I'm sticking to my earlier assessment that Ngannou can't still beat any of the top 10 in boxing.

Does theymos have a patent for signature campaign such that no other forum can replicate what is happening here without his permission.

That's a crazy greedy idea mate. Do you really think it is possible to patent paid signature campaigns in a forum? It's like having the sole right for athletes to wear logos and other printed advertisements on their attires. So millions of athletes worldwide need to contact the person with the rights in order to ask permission or pay fees? Even the invention of medicines can be copied after a period of time to push for cheaper and affordable generic medicines, otherwise, poor people and countries will be deprived. You need to change your mindset mate. Grin
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Force Your Children to Learn Bitcoin on: November 02, 2023, 11:24:57 AM
In modern countries, this is not even a topic due to its obvious answer. But in many developing and poor countries, people will try to groom their children into something too early giving them no other choices to discover their inner gifts and skills.

Just today I saw an online friend posting about how young his 16-year-old kid retired into amateur boxing. The kid last month won a silver medal in our yearly national tournament which is already a huge accomplishment. But deep beneath, I can feel that the kid does not want what he is doing. My friend own a boxing gym before and he loves boxing which is why he wanted badly for his kid to become a boxer.
750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 02, 2023, 11:00:13 AM
There are too many games to break down (imagine 13 games 😮‍💨), but I'll focus on the two NBA teams that remain undefeated this season - the Dallas Mavericks from the Western Conference, who didn't even make the NBA play-in tournament or the playoffs last season and the Boston Celtics from the Eastern Conference both 4-0 standing. The current NBA standings also show Western Conference dominance. Most of the Eastern Team 2-3 standing 😂.

Which of this two team will be the last undefeated this season? Celtics or Mavericks? 🤔

Same here, the undefeated teams and how long they can stay that way is what interests me most for every start of the regular season. I did not expect the other top teams to lose this early. Boston Celtics is probably the one that stays unbeaten. Next for them are road games against the Nets and Timberwolves.

I have little expectations for the Mavericks, they're out of the playoffs since the arrival of Kyrie Irving and might continue that way. So far they only faced weaker opposition which is why they are winning games. They have a 2-day rest before traveling to Denver where they will be tested if their undefeated run is a fluke or not. Denver though won't have a rest day when they face Dallas. But I'm still planning to bet on Denver.
751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 02, 2023, 09:19:10 AM
Real boxing is still alive and some say it is getting bigger and better while some say it is dying or slowing down. It's a combination of both because financially boxing stars are getting huge paydays which I believe are just too much, reason why legendary networks like HBO and Showtime are leaving boxing. In terms of PPV buys, boxing numbers are decreasing. I agree with Bob Arum that PPVs as much as possible should be prohibited or at least their prices should be lowered to 50% to 75% of their current rates. Politics in boxing is becoming bigger and it is stopping the big fights from happening. Before, there were only HBO and Showtime and the promoters could work both. Nowadays, there's DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime (soon leaving boxing) and these networks have exclusive deals with promoters establishing their own stars and fanbase.

The entire entertainment industry is changing, with sports being part of it. People are moving away from watching television in favour of shorter, more intense, on-demand entertainment like they get on social media. A lot of people, myself included, often choose to just watch highlights for free, rather than spend long hours watching the entire events live.

Add to that the growing popularity of MMA and celebrity boxing and no wonder the traditional (aka "real") boxing is losing numbers. But I don't think it's at risk of dying out completely. The promotors would have to go more toward building boxers' popularity and selling the story, rather than relying only on the sport's value.

True. There are a lot of entertainment options now for fight fans nowadays. I still watch fights live but only for championship fights that are also not mismatched or late-noticed opponents.

MMA continues to grow big. Even UFC PPV events have higher numbers than many boxing events although big portions of the proceeds usually go to Dana and the UFC. MMA might start to have its own backlash soon once organizations come close to each other and fight fans' demand for some cross-organization fights which would be more difficult to make than boxing's networks and promotional feuds.

Meanwhile, the biggest DOTA 2 news now are the numerous rumors of roster shuffling of many teams.

Gaimin Gladiators- I really like the current GG roster but Quinn leaving may end up with a lot of changes.
Tundra- Caster, Maelstorm made a hint that 3 players from GG will be joining the team.
Liquid- One of the biggest news is Zai's decision to take a break which might also mean that there is a chance of not retiring and will come back later.
9 Pandas- Russian caster Maelstrom also hinted the team will disband.
Shopify Rebellion- After another very poor season I won't be surprised if the players will finally disband.
Team Secret- I wonder what's on Puppey's mind now. Maybe try to check the players available in the market. But will he let go on Crystallis?
Talon Esports- They will enter next season with some changes in their roster as well.
Beastcost- All players left the team. There are also rumors about transferring to SEA.
This is a lot. I think the first one that I've seen about Tundra and GG is that Quinn is also going there since nine has transitioned into the support role and probably liking it, their midlane is free since topson just played there as a stand in. There's just too much with all of these speculations and rumors but we will break them down soon when we've got more reliable sources or when official transfers have happened already.

Quinn and dyrachyo are the ones expected to transfer to Tundra. Meanwhile, Insania hinted that their new offlaner is a big streamer with a lot of viewers in the CIS which also means that Gabbi is not the guy.

It'll be interesting once official announcements are being made. So far, Evil Geniuses has officially disbanded and there are hints that it is not coming back to the DOTA scene at least for the next season. There's also Eva Elfie's $25k as a promise to help boost the TI prize pool but was not accepted by Team Spirit.
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - December or January in Saudi Arabia on: November 02, 2023, 08:36:17 AM
...
According to Krassyuk, the contracts are already signed for December 23. So I guess somehow they can force Fury to fight next month or early next year. But there are already a lot of rumors from Fury's camp. A family member might take control of the team after the poor performance against Ngannou. There's also the possibility of retiring although he might once again return later after months or years of inactivity.

You are talking about his brother right? yeah, I also read that news that he will be taking over Fury's training as there are things that they needed to set things correct in this camp so that Tyson Fury will be ready.

And as much as Tyson said that they didn't underestimate Francis, it seems that way to be at least that's why the bad performance.

The fight is going to happen definitely, but I doubt that it will be this December 23 as Fury needs to heal before he can start his training for a Usyk fight. And I think Usyk will agree to that, as long as there are financial incentives for him and it will be taken out of the purse of Fury I guess.

Yeah, it's his brother. I forgot the name but are they going to kick out Sugar Hill Steward? Prior to the Ngannou fight, John Fury wanted Sugar Hill out as a coach. I don't understand since Sugar Hill did a great job on Fury so far except for this fight with Ngannou whom I believe Fury is slacking and underestimating. It might be something personal knowing how crazy and self-centered John is. Now I am starting to like seeing John Fury given a fight in order to fill his insecurities, we'll see how this 8 wins, 4 losses with only 1 KO does in the ring. Cheesy

Anyways, a new date for Usyk-Fury is expected in February. I am still doubtful unless it is official. I expect Fury to only fight March onwards unless Usyk threatens to file a case due to the failed December 23 date where he already made a camp in Spain. And for the second time, Usyk needs to stop his training camp since he cannot overtrain.
754  Economy / Economics / Re: Biting more than i can chew. How can i do better? on: November 01, 2023, 02:29:12 PM
If only you invested your money on assets that have long-term potential like bitcoin, some altcoins, real estate, stocks, etc. But it is what it is. Just stop thinking about the good stuff that you would've done to your money in the past. The most important is you are getting your own realizations OP. Admitting the mistakes you made in the past helps you close that chapter and start a new one.

You are not the only that is starting all over again. I am also in the same situation. We just have to be optimistic and find ways to keep the fire burning that will motivate us to strive harder.
755  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Putin's Alleged death boost the world's economy? on: November 01, 2023, 02:06:39 PM

But even if this was real, there being a "body double" means that nothing is supposed to change, doesn't it? For all we know, Putin's been dead for 10 years and we're now on the 3rd body double.
Your theory is so scary if I am being honest with you because that means that the Russian deep state is much stronger than we think they are and it's such a pretty scary thing that they're willing to keep up a facade just so we still be on our toes. But on the topic though, I think that his death will definitely be a net positive to the world's economy depending on his successor stance on the war that Putin has waged on Ukraine, if it's a total stop in the war then it's going to be a positive for the world and Russia as sanctions are going to be lifted and it's definitely a negative for Russia but a bit much worse to the world itself because the successor might be more unhinged than Putin when it comes to usage of nuclear weapon.

So it's the reason why body double 1 Vladimir and his ex-wife Lyudmila announced the end of their relationship and divorce was filed last 2013 which was 10 years from now? But what will be the good reasons for double-bodying Putin? Way back in 2013, Putin's potential successor and the prime minister, Dmitry Medvedev just ended his presidential term in 2012. So I guess there would be no power vacuum if Putin left this world 10 years ago. Medvedev seems to have fallen out of favor last 2020 ending his term as premier. Although it might be good since he seems to be more militarily aggressive than Putin even mentioning the use of nuclear weapons including the issue with Ukraine.

With regard to the OP question, I answered wtf since I don't think the rumor is true. But if it is indeed true then we will find out who's the successor first. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is possible to negotiate to stop the war rather than the hardliners like Medvedev.
756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 01, 2023, 11:39:54 AM
I would say it is not even about the rounds but more about knockdowns, Ngannou had knockdowns, as far as I can remember Fury didn't had any, so I would give the fight to Ngannou.

Ngannou scored a single knockdown but boxing is scored per round. I haven't watched the fight even the replays but I saw the full punch stats. If I base the fight according to the punch stats it is 95-94 in favor of Fury. It would've been great if Ngannou won but after interpreting the punch stats I won't call it a robbery.

However, that is not even the point, are we going to keep seeing these exhibition games from now on? I mean looking at this years most watched boxing matches, it is KSI vs Fury, it is Logan Paul vs Dillon Danis, it is this fight, I mean these are all exhibition style fights and definitely do not really look like proper fights. I miss the good old days when the top two ranked fighters fought against each other and you were wondering who would win, not just about who had more followers.

I understand marketing is part of the game, but back in the day you would find fighters, and then made marketing around them, not find marketing people and then made them fight. This is starting to feel like boxing has lost all its attention and running its course, it can't sustain like this forever.

Real boxing is still alive and some say it is getting bigger and better while some say it is dying or slowing down. It's a combination of both because financially boxing stars are getting huge paydays which I believe are just too much, reason why legendary networks like HBO and Showtime are leaving boxing. Nowadays, there's DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime (soon leaving boxing) and these networks have exclusive deals with promoters establishing their own stars and fanbase.

There are only a few boxing hardcore so it is the casuals that will fill PPV buys. Celebrities once were used to market fights but currently, some of them are interested in fighting and nothing can stop them from doing that especially since the promoters and networks are also willing to exploit the opportunity. But to those still wanting real fights they can just tune in to DAZN, ESPN, Showtime, etc. because all of these networks usually have events every weekend.

It was already game 2 and TS is already having a decent lead when I started watching. I still took a bet on GG but with very minimal. My 11-win streak came to an end in the finals. But overall the long break changed my luck. Cheesy
Wow, this is a very excellent result with 11 winner predictions, you must have earned a lot, thanks to this TI12.

I lost many bets before the long break but somehow I had a net profit in this TI.

News circulated about Usyk healing from his injuries and needing 14 weeks for his full training camp. And then Fury's camp said they will sue Usyk if he won't fight on December 23? And then before the Fury-Ngannou fight Usyk said that he would be ready by December 23 then. And now it is Fury's camp that does not want a December 23rd date? What a shame!

Krassyuk revealed that they actually set up a training camp in Spain. This is the second time that Fury refuses to fight Usyk upon knowing that the Ukrainian already started training. Fury just wanted to fight an injured and a less-prepared version of Usyk. Maybe they just sue Fury if he won't fight on December 23 because this might not really happen.

so it's not happening after all. so much for the heavyweight unification that we have been waiting for, they would have created the biggest fight in history but times just do not permit it. besides Fury just won $50M with Ngannou fight. the big man wouldn't worry about his life in decades.

when the article about Usyk being injured came out, it already meant nothing would happen and it's very well-timed that Fury wants to troll Ngannou that he has another fight after theirs.

Maybe Fury is worth $200 million now which is a lot but he might continue being greedy as his excuse to dodge Usyk. Fury just turned into a villain from being a hero real quick. Well, he deserved it, the fight with Usyk would've happened early this year.

According to Krassyuk, the contracts are already signed for December 23. So I guess somehow they can force Fury to fight next month or early next year. But there are already a lot of rumors from Fury's camp. A family member might take control of the team after the poor performance against Ngannou. 759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 01, 2023, 10:03:14 AM
The size issue will be their biggest problem. I mean its true that none of these players are at their prime anymore, and not many players would be able to sustain such a longevity anyway. However, even without their prime, if they can all be %100 healthy, they would be a great team. The issue is not that they are not at their prime, the issue is that Westbrook acts like he can shoot, instead of his usual driving, Harden plays absolutely no defense, Kawhi doesn't even play, dude had 50 games last year, no games the year before that and 52-57 games two seasons before that, so he basically doesn't play, and doesn't show up much on playoffs neither, only player that could be trusted there is PG, who still does his best, even if its not enough. So all in all, a clippers with Westbrook, Harden, Kawhi and PG that plays 70+ games each, and plays all playoff games? I would say a title contender easily, even this year beyond their peak, but I bet %100 guarantee that they will not play that many games, most of them will keep on missing games.

They have Zubac as its center who is decent enough and there's also Plumlee. So far the betting odds aren't buying on the current Los Angeles Clippers line-up. This must be the reason that the team has been suffering from injuries for years now and this season makes no difference, especially on the hyper-sensitive Kawhi Leonard. But provided they are all healthy in the coming playoffs, I still put them below the Nuggets, Bucks, and the Suns.

Meanwhile, I am surprised Boston is now the top favorite. I'm still sticking to my old pick which is the defending champion Denver Nuggets.

GG almost done the impossible which is winning the TI after an early place on the lower bracket. Team Spirit is just too OP while GG is already exhausted and play almost all their card in their sleeves since they have tons of match while TS is just waiting for them to finish.

It’s still a good run for GG to become a grand finalist after an almost early elimination. It’s just TS is much better team and AFAIK GG never won against TS since they spike up their game on last few tournaments before TI.
TS only had 3 games in the upper bracket, while GG had 6 games, after that anyone would be exhausted. But we remember how TS went through the entire lower bracket at TI10 and then won the LGD. Now it’s almost impossible to defeat them, they are incredibly charged, and we can say for sure that larl fits into the team better than anyone else. Now his name is inscribed in the Hall of Fame forever. I just didn’t expect such a weak game from LGD, they are not what they were before.

Being in the upper bracket is really a factor. But I guess even with the same number of games and rests TS will win over GG. The trend is correct this time. It was GG that dominated all the major events this year and they looked invincible. I thought BetBoom and not Liquid was the one that gave a better fight. But prior to TI, the momentum of TS started by winning the much coveted Riyadh Masters and then DreamLeague. Hats off to TS, they worked hard for it so they really deserved the Aegis.

Good thing I woke up late. I already had a bet on GG against LGD but I am supposed to bet on them again in the finals. It was already game 2 and TS is already having a decent lead when I started watching. I still took a bet on GG but with very minimal. My 11-win streak came to an end in the finals. By the way, have you already seen that Valve renamed Spirit Breaker to Team Spirit Breaker?
