981  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A good way to help our children. on: June 02, 2023, 09:36:43 PM
Giving our children bitcoin as a gift may not be the best thing to do now but giving them the enlightenment and them having knowledge of what bitcoin is, the value it has, the security aspect of it, how decentralised it is and how the market price runs can be the best knowledge they should how now before you think of them owing bitcoin. It's never late too late for anyone to have bitcoin the most important thing is that bitcoin will remain forever and our children will have time to invest when they have good knowledge and are matured enough to make decisions for themselves remember bitcoin investment should be a personal decision for anyone who wishes to invest.
Educating them at the best of our ability is probably the smartest thing to do as soon as they reach their right age that they can comprehend enough everything we want to instill them about bitcoin. It’s hard but it’s likely the most fulfilling part seeing them working on their own to achieve something big in the future. And by exposing them to bitcoin, that will motivate them to be more knowledgeable so they can easily take advantage of the market when there are potentials profits.
982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 02, 2023, 08:34:19 PM
IMO it's a great idea. People who don't take any risks in life don't gain anything. Maybe you'll regret it, there's a small chance bitcoin will not succeed, but would you want to miss the opportunity and later regret not spending your allowance on bitcoin? If iI knew I could make a million by investing 1k in bitcoin early on, or lose that 1k, I'd take that chance without thinking too much and I believe most of us would.
Taking risk is something you have to deal with if you wish to achieve something big in the future, but taking uncalculated risk will only put you into a losing end and all your money and efforts may only go into waste. So never take risk beyond your control, in which investing half of your father’s retirement funds into bitcoin sounds too risky no matter where angle you’ll see it. You could lose them all instantly and will leave your father regretting losing all those hard-earned funds.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 01, 2023, 02:03:04 PM

We all know the skill levels of both of this fighter, nevertheless, I will be in the majority for favoring Crawford.

This is the betting odds for the fight.
Quote
Multiple sportsbooks have released the Spence vs Crawford odds. Crawford, the 38-0 WBO welterweight champion, is a -150 favorite. Spence, the 28-0 WBC and IBF welterweight champ, comes back as the +120 underdog.

https://www.oddsshark.com/boxing/terence-crawford-errol-spence-odds

Crawford is the slight favorite, not surprising though and I think the odds although he is the favorite is still a decent one. Just bet 150 usd to win 100 usd. I would not hesitate betting on that, I'm just waiting for the betting odds to be available on the betting sites I'm using then I'll ride on.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 01, 2023, 01:30:20 PM
Well, it's interesting that there could be plays like this on this upcoming finals and I guess that it will be hyper than the last matches.
Maybe referees will be more careful by ensuring that the clock adjustment they make is correct. We don't want a repeat of what happened in Game 6 of the ECF, where fans complained because the clock should have been at 2.8 seconds, but it was adjusted to 3 seconds. Even milliseconds count, so everything should be taken care of well, even the smallest things, as they could cost a game.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which New Technology will be adopted by the Gambling Industry? on: May 31, 2023, 08:05:06 AM
Well, businesses can employ any measures they want to ensure the security of their operations. Implementing technology is one way to prevent cheating by gamblers, so it's likely that they will invest in such measures. As for gamblers, it's not easy to win, and I'm not aware of any specific technology that guarantees success. However, as gambling sites continue to innovate and introduce new games, they will undoubtedly attract more gamblers, leading to significant growth in the industry.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: May 31, 2023, 07:35:52 AM

The bookmakers can decide the odds whoever can possibly win. More than likely Beterbeiv.

As we can see here : https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/artur-beterbiev-v-callum-smith/winner

Beterbiev is the heavy favorite with odds of 3/8 or -267 in American (Moneyline) format. It is evident that most of us believe he will win the fight. Callum Smith has already been exposed, so I think Beterbiev will be able to employ the right strategy to secure a knockout, which would further enhance his chances of securing a big fight in the future.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 30, 2023, 01:08:08 PM
I think the Celtics are not a defensive team anymore last year they have a crazy defense that surely many don't want to mess but right now they have switched to an offensive team and added to this Jayson Tatum got a bad ankle toward the game so he surely has a hardtime making points, and this bad luck continues until the 4th quarter, Bam Adebayo has a double-double of 10 rebounds and 12 points, Caleb Martin has a double-double of 10 rebounds and 26 points while Jimmy butler got 28 points winning this game,

They are also a good defensive team, as they were able to beat the Heat in three straight games. However, no matter how good the team is, they can also have a bad game, and it so happened that the Celtics had a bad game in Game 7, making them unable to defy history. With the result of the game, still no team has ever come back to win from a 0-3 deficit.

The problem is that most of us were expecting the Celtics to easily dispose of the Heat since they were playing on their home court. In fact, Paul Pierce was too confident that they would win. However, the Heat were prepared, they did their job, and were not emotionally affected by the three straight losses.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 30, 2023, 11:35:31 AM

We will see how coach Spo and the guys will compete and try again to win the title.
He's an experienced one on these times and he probably had a strategy already on who is he gonna put on the court to at least disable or slow down Jokic.

The best way to win is by not allowing the Joker to score a triple-double, as that would elevate his teammates' performance. If the Nuggets' star player struggles, things will work in favor of the Miami Heat.

The Heat's lineup now consists of experienced players:

Kyle Lowry, a one-time champion.
Kevin Love, a one-time champion.
Jimmy Butler, who has played in the NBA Finals against the Lakers.
Bam Adebayo, who has also played in the NBA Finals against the Lakers.
Robinson, who has played in the NBA Finals against the Lakers.

So, I believe we should respect this team and have faith that they will match up well against the Nuggets.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 28, 2023, 07:49:56 PM
This actually happens if there is a similar thread I'll lock this thread.

My friend invited me for a round of drinks just last night to confess something, and that is his wife threatened to leave their house and file for legal separation because the wife just discovered that he's spending a lot of time gambling, she thought that he's just playing games but she discovered his logged because the idiot has his password in the browser, so the wife check his withdrawal and voila his losing a lot of money and she also discovered that he won big money in the past but didn't tell her.

I guess that blew her patience for not telling his winning, so he threaten that he should stop gambling or they part ways, my friend choose his wife so he cannot play until he can convince his wife and promise her to tell her if he won big. Cheesy

How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.

If you have to hide things from your spouse, you probably married the wrong woman or man IMO. If you want to go gamble now and then you shouldn't have to hide it. Losing a large amount once or twice and trying to hide it to avoid the argument is another thing though. You probably need to go talk with a professional about your gambling habit if you cannot control yourself.
Probably that could be a reason too as some partners in life have set their negative mindset on gambling and things that will trigger it will only worsen the situation. That’s why being transparent to each other is always essential. Especially in gambling wherein that could totally lose your right mindset and thinking if you become addicted in gambling. However, threatening your partner is not the best solution. Resolve the problem by talking about it first before you jump into another heavy decision in life.
990  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A nob in trading needs help on: May 28, 2023, 07:19:29 PM
What's more, those who have no experience in trading or investing in crypto need to learn more about it,
trading bots are also not always profitable and I think many avoid using them,
Of course, everyone has their own decision.
Trading bots could be useful if you know how to trade yourself, but if you have no idea how to trade yourself, then bots can't help you with it. Think about it this way, I mean we are talking about a situation where it is going to be just a bot, that does what you tell it to do, and you have no idea how to trade and you are going to end up telling it to do the right thing somehow? We all know that's not going to be the case, we all know that it is going to end up being a lot less profitable than that.

So, the best thing to do in this case is to make sure that we are not dealing with anything that would be similar like that, just focus on learning how to trade yourself. After you make profits by yourself, you could start considering getting a bot as well.
Trading bots can be profitable but know that they are expensive too that’s why beginner traders should never rely on that. Instead, learn on your own by acquiring adequate knowledge and skills that will be vital to trading. Trading is hard and risky, that’s why one should never be confident relying on trading bots alone. Though it’s good if you are already making significant profits in trading, but if you want to maximize your knowledge and hone your skills as well, trading all by yourself is always the best key.
991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not rely on articles as resources to learn Bitcoin on: May 28, 2023, 06:59:28 PM
As long as the sources are adding information for someone who wants to learn more about Bitcoin and it's not corrupting the mind of its readers, that's a fine source.

These sources are even just for free and they've made of course by these exchanges or whoever sponsors them and have it put on their website. And that's the actual fee that every guest or visitor pays them, the traffic in exchange of the resources and information that they've included on these articles.

But it's true that some of these articles might be misleading and bias.
As long as they are legit sources, then they are still good to go as a way to learn bitcoin more. But I also believe that some might be out of the blue contents so readers should also be cautious on what they are trying to read so they can avoid being misled from bias information. That’s the reason why experience is always the best teacher, as reading alone is not enough to make you fully aware and informed about bitcoin.
992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: May 28, 2023, 06:41:27 PM
I don't think that's a good idea. Unemployed people are easy targets for the casinos and even though bitcoin itself has nothing to do with gambling, these people may see it like a get rich quick scheme. If they think they'll get rich investing in bitcoin then they will make some wrong doings like investing in shitcoins, day trading etc. Because they will realize that bitcoin isn't risky enough and you need to take more risks to make more money. Since they have no jobs, they will take the maximum risk and that's a recipe for a disaster.
Based on how you educate them about bitcoin, they will end up believing that bitcoin will make them rich quickly than finding stable jobs that will suit for them. And that is a very wrong mindset. You should have warned them how volatile the market is that could bring them life changing losses than to expect for future profits. At the end of the day, everything will fall on gambling. If they come to invest their hard-earned money without enough knowledge and preparation for it, they will only end up losing all of them because of how they set their mindset into bitcoin.
993  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your most effective crypto trading strategies? on: May 27, 2023, 09:45:19 PM
Crypto trading is one journey that needs a lot of critical thinking and one need to always be ahead and alert in terms of decision making  towards any coin he chooses to trade in. But more importantly, you need to kill fear while trading, particularly the fear of making losses as trading is inevitable to traders both acclaimed professionals or learners. The only thing is that we all try to mitigate it making sure our profits outshines our loss.

Combining fear with trading can only make a trader incur more losses as he could out of refuse to key into a trading opportunity that would have earned him some profits only because it didn't really appeared to have  some potential, only to end up falling into the wrong trade.  And this would keep on happening as long as fear isn't killed in a trader's life.

Fear is part of your emotions so while emotions is the best enemy in trading, being fearful will eventually make you lose in trading. So turn into fearless instead and learn to manage the risk so you can reduce as well the risk of losing. And bear in mind that trading has its inevitable losses, so always trade an amount that you are not afraid to lose, that is if you want to last longer in trading industry.
994  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Default: Good or bad for crypto? on: May 27, 2023, 09:15:25 PM
Based on personal opinion, of course, a negative impact in more than 1 month will be seen in all investment assets including crypto. However, when viewed from a momentum standpoint, the impact is also a reversal of profits i.e. maximizing accumulation in Bitcoin. As this time approaches the halving, people will be taking much bigger risks even if the market conditions are unfavorable. They will not waste this opportunity by increasing the amount of their investment assets. After all, US economists have a huge influence on price spikes and falls. And after passing through the national debt phase, the surge will continue to increase the purchase value which is very significant.
Yes, it will create negative impact at the start but I think as years pass by, crypto will eventually get used to it and will never be affected. And people will eventually shift their focus into bitcoin and maximize their accumulation as much as they can. So in the long run, I guess this one is beneficial for crypto. But it also takes some risk before majority will start liking and dare to trust and invest into bitcoin.
995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was your biggest fear with starting in crypto? on: May 27, 2023, 08:46:02 PM
Genuinely want to know what prevents your friends/gf/ colleagues from investing? Did you have any barriers when you first started?
To be honest, it’s the fear that crypto investment will eventually turn into a scam like most investors online have experienced. That’s the reason why I seldom invest online, same with the reason that I have known from my friends and colleagues. I have only started to invest in crypto when i read some positive reviews that it took me some courage to try and invest for just a small amount. And when it worked, my faith has been deepen that I started to trust crypto more and increase more of my capital.
996  Economy / Economics / Re: If they have the solution, why are banks still failing? on: May 26, 2023, 09:59:22 PM
SVB recorded six straight quarterly losses, why didn't these financial gurus fix the bank? Yet they claim to be the only solution.

Because it really isn't the job of the economists or 'gurus' to prevent a certain bank from going insolvent — it's the CEO, the team in general, and the board of directors' jobs.
Exactly. The people who are managing the bank are the only responsible for the bank to become insolvent. If they are just working for their own money satisfaction and don’t even care on the bank’s prosperity, surely the bank will go into bankrupt. Everything that happens to a certain bank, whether it’s a success or failure, the people that are managing the bank are always liable to it.
997  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How i can manage my job and my Bitcoin Trading at the same time? on: May 26, 2023, 09:30:28 PM
Hi, I hope you are all doing well. I am a teacher and teach students about IT. But from my job, I cannot fulfil my expenses that why start learning about Bitcoin the last 3 months my friend told me about the Bitcointalk forum in start working on bounties but not earned any money yet Now he said to make post other section will help me to trade and earning. I read the rules before posting. Can someone guide me on how I manage my time and earn money from trading what is an effective way to start?
I suggest you keep your job while you are searching for other means to earn more money, bounties are a waste of time and energy, and from your post history I can see a lot of bounty applications. Signature campaigns or bounties are not the same as trading bitcoin. I believe you have been misdirected by your friend, he led you to believe bounty hunting is lucrative and now he has told you to change your posting style so you can participate in signature campaign. Since your motivation for being here is to earn from the forum, you will have to work your way to full member to join campaigns.
Exactly. You can never earn from a signature campaign if your position is still a newbie so you have to work on it first and wait until you’re qualified enough. Just keep on reading and understand them as well. DYOR always because that’s the best way so you can easily absorb the contents of the topics in the forum. Fast forward, if you are already earning from signature campaign, then you can use your profits to trade but make sure to use small capital in your first trades. Trading is risky so you also have to prepare for it and always trade with caution.
998  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your favorite season to trade cryptocurrency? on: May 26, 2023, 09:09:06 PM
People may think that the bear season is the best for trading but I think it is the right time to invest, not trade. And in my opinion, you can trade whenever you want and the important thing is that you can analyze when you can enter the market because your goal in trading is to find and make a profit.

So it will not depend on the season, whether bear or bull season. Maybe you mean when is the best time to invest so the bear season is the right time to start. But maybe people have different opinions because we have to determine it and not follow what people say.

And as long as you can analyze well, you can get coins to trade and make a profit. With that analysis, you can survive the bear season, which is difficult to analyze and predict.
Based on my experience, you can always trade whenever you want as long as the market condition favors your trade. And whether it’s bearish or bullish, if there are good signs to trade, then you can trade using your skills and strategies so you can easily succeed on your trades. However, if the market condition is not suitable to trade, even if you are a professional trader, you will still lose in the end. That’s why in trading, losses are still inevitable, especially if you trade based on your greed and selfish desires.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 25, 2023, 01:02:22 PM
I like this when they're adjusting the schedule of PBA in order to give way to the FIBA world cup and other international basketball leagues that will require some of the players from the teams participating the league.

This is essential because if they fail to do so, the league will face criticism. In the FIBA World Cup, it is crucial to bring our best players in order to compete at a high level. It would not be appropriate to send college players who are not yet in the professional league. Therefore, it is obligatory for the PBA to allow their players to represent the country, as we are competing on an international stage.

Is it the PBA that's going to shoulder this participation on EASL or it is the SBP/MVP group with the help of PSC? I don't know how things goes there but if this is what's going to happen, this will require a lot of budget for them since games will played on each participating countries.

We should not worry about the expenses because most likely the teams that will participate are own by Pangilinan and Cojuangco, and we know they are 2 of the richest men in the Philippines.
1000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 25, 2023, 12:15:56 PM
There's no team in the NBA that win 0-3 deficit. I don't know where's the thing that exposed their defense but if they do I think they will adjust that onto the next game, there should always be a lesson to be taken. Might be just a rough night for Heat but I'd say that game 4 from the Celtics is a great game they have in this ECF and if they'll be consistent then they might have a chance.
That chance is too tiny.

As you've said, no one gets a history to have a straight win with that deficit and it's highly unlikely that Celtics could have it all. But who knows if they'll be the one to make it.

Well, just as everyone is saying and believing this is going to be with Heat. If the Celtics will prolong this to a game 7 then that's new history for everybody and that's gonna be a shame for the Heat but I don't think they'll allow it.

I think I will start betting on the Heat for Game 5. Why? Because they are currently the underdog, with a spread of +8.5. However, if they have a real chance of winning, then it might be more beneficial to consider the moneyline odds. Currently, the odds are at 3.40. I understand that many people might be placing their bets on the Heat, but sometimes it's best not to overthink things. Let's aim to beat the bookie and trust in Jimmy to lead the Heat to victory and finish the series.
