By Tuesday 3rd ODI between England and Ireland is gonna be played. The first two matches were won by England. The second match being a close call with fast wickets for England while chasing the target. Finally the lower order stood strong taking towards a win. Ireland could've planned to make at least a winning, fortunately they've missed two chances. Ireland having match against England by now helps with the practice for upcoming world cup.

Which world cup? If you are talking about the next T20 World Cup, then it is more than a year away (scheduled for October 2021). Anyway, these are just practice matches for England, as Ireland is not being able to offer any resistance. IMO, for the 3rd match England should rest some of their regular players and give opportunity to the younger ones.

England won the 2nd one day with ease and it was a one sided match. Although england lost 6 wickets but they were able to score pretty quickly. Also i feel that the 3rd ODI will also be a one sided match and england will clean sweep.

One sided? Seriously? Ireland could have probably won the 2nd match if Willey was dismissed quickly since they still needed some 50+ runs with only 4 wickets in hand majority of which were tail-enders.

England were struggling pretty badly. The Irish should have maintained the pressure, but England managed well at the end. Am not expecting anything spectacular from Ireland in the 3rd ODI though. They missed a golden opportunity here.

On the other hand, England will be pissed with their performances in recent times(Loss against West Indies, Under pressure against a team like Ireland etc). I still cannot believe that this is the same team that won the World Cup recently.

This is not the same team that won the World Cup but there are certain members that were involved, Ben Stokes who is an integral part of the team winning the World Cup and many of the members are rested for the Ireland ODI series and England need to build a good bench strength and sadly they did not give opportunities for young talent in this series. Even in the loss against West Indies they did not have Stuart Broad and he was integral in winning the next two matches.

@Haunebu I’ll agree with you that this match wasn’t a one sided match because Ireland had almost sealed the victory, but then their inexperience let them down.

@7788bitcoin while you’re right about England resting several key player’s, but the fact remains that this current England team is yet superior to the Ireland team, and hence they should have won the match comfortably, but in the end they lost wickets and came very close to losing the match.

I agree with you that it is not the same team who won the world cup. Actually, England wanna find some new talent, that's why they've tried some players outside their permanent squad.  it will take some time for the newcomers to adapt to the team.  just wait some more days, I hope in the England-India  series we will be able to see England's full strength, and the series  will be full of excitement. just calm and wait...

Yes, both are equal in terms of performance and experience players have got. Right now the Indian team is strong to face any team and has got full of young players. Every match played during these time period is a preparatory for the upcoming World T20 Championship. It takes young players to get suited to the match situation and perform. When the expertise team members get in, it'll be strong and will have a better performance to win even if they've scored 250runs.

The T20 World Cup has been postponed by more than a year. So the preparations can wait. I guess for now India and the other teams may be focusing on the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League and the ICC World Test Championship. England needs to be careful now, as they lost the 3rd match against Ireland. Now they have 20 points from 3 matches, but we were expecting that they may finish with 30 points.

I agree with you that it is not the same team who won the world cup. India is perhaps the strongest team in all the three formats of cricket right now. But historically they have faced difficulty in conditions that are more suited for swing/seam bowling. Even in the current Indian team, Virat Kohli is perhaps the only player who is comfortable in such surfaces. And we should also remember the fact that the English bowlers, especially Anderson and Broad are in top form right now.

@Vishnu.Reang yea I too agree that team India’s batman’s tend to struggle under swing conditions, however let’s hope that this time they’ll be able to offer tough competition to team England bowlers.

Also it’s pertinent to note that team India has the experienced middle order batmen Pujara playing for them, who has played in multiple county matches in England, hence he’ll be able to score many runs because of his vast experience, and he’ll even be able to help other batman’s feel relaxed whenever he’s batting at the crease.

I am glad that Cheteshwar Pujara decided to take part in county cricket. But this year, he is not a part of the Gloucestershire squad. He pulled out of the county championship, after it was postponed. Also, I want the other Indian cricketers to try their luck in the county championship. And even earlier I had posted about opportunities in Australia and New Zealand. The domestic cricket there is also of high quality.

@Vishnu.Reang yes because of covid19 he could not participate this year, but hopefully he’ll be able to participate next year if covid19 fears ease, and county cricket resumes once again. Also as far as I know first Indian player’s need to seek the permission from BCCI for county cricket, only then can they go ahead and choose a club that’ll accept them. Lastly BCCI doesn’t give permission that easily, so I don’t expect more player’s to play in county cricket anytime soon.

India vs England series isn't confirmed. If I'm not wrong the tournament will be scheduled to be played on England. In most of the matches played in England, it had got home ground advantage. Both teams are strong, and this series won't go one sided. I was looking for the game between Australia and England.

The England bowlers are in top form, and for the Indian batsmen this is going to be a tough challenge. On top of that, they will prefer fast and bouncy surfaces, in which the Indian batsmen (other than Virat Kohli) are not very comfortable. It would be good if the Indian team arrives in England at least 2-3 weeks before the series and get themselves acclimatized.

West Indies won a match against England and Pakistan came close to winning the first Test and India has a much better bowlers and batsman than these team, it will be really close if they play even in England and India has the world class bowlers to trouble any team. England beating India easily will be a dream and it would be interesting how Bairstow Morgan and Root will play against Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umesh Yadav.

It is just shocking to hear about the threats N Srinivasan made to Suresh Raina, after the latter decided to withdraw from IPL 2020.

Who is Mr. Srinivasan, and what does he think he is? Raina has already clarified to the media that he is pulling out of the tournament for personal reasons (his uncle recently got murdered). He does have the right to do so, although he may lose the salary for this year.

If this is how he treats a player who has represented his team (CSK) for more than a decade, then I really pity on Mr. Srinivasan. Perhaps this is not surprising from a man, who took part in match fixing during the IPL, and then got off with a lenient punishment thanks to his political connection.  

Any other franchise owner would have stood by the player, during this difficult time. But what to expect from Srinivasan, who has disowned his own son?

He is complaining that the police is yet to inform him what actually happened to his relatives. Two of his family members are dead (his cousin passed away today), and another relative is on life-support. But most surprising is the fact that very few people are talking about this incident in India. Media is not giving it any sort of importance. BTW, N Srinivasan has refused to apologize for his vile statements targeting Raina.

He did not how they were dead ? Were they killed by someone or passed away due to some other reason. The investigation may come in few days by the PunjabPolice India but this is really a shocking news. Someone might have taken revenge with Suresh Raina🇮🇳

@SaShiRaJaVu under normal circumstances he would have walked straight into CSK camp, but since we’re in a pandemic it’s not going to be easy for him to rejoin CSK. Also he’ll need BCCI approval before he can join CSK camp, and it won’t be easy getting that approval as BCCI feels that he’s battling depression, but if he can convince them that his reasons were valid, and he doesn’t have depression then they may just approve his decision to rejoin the team.
