yes the famous "Uncle Tony" who coached Nadal. Alcaraz is being talked about
as being the next Nadal. He is definitely showing why ATM.

Big win by Felix AA against a pumped up Tiafoe who will be savagely dissapointed
after a big win against Rublev.

Zverev has a big game today against Sinner, he is big favourite 1.16 to 5.20.
Thats a bit of an injustice to Sinner tough, does anybody give Sinner a chance?
Yes, of course, Sinner will have a slight chance against Zverev. But Zverev's form is outstanding so far.

I have Djokovic vs Brooskby over 28.5. I think the kid can take one set from Djokovic and make it close.

Yeah, Alcaraz has some serious firepower, still very young and for sure some with corrections and coaching from Nadal's uncle, this kid can be a serious contender for those new gen of tennis players.

A win for me between Djokovic and Brooskby, as I have predicted, he won at least one set.

And then some for a multi-bet try, just got lucky.

Medvedev vs unkown van de Zandschulp, Medvedev hasn't drop a set yet in this tournament. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that van de Zandschulp might just break it and take one set. So over 27.5 is my bet.

Just the usual game for Djokovic, lost the first set and then totally destroyed and won the last 3 sets with ease.

Medvedev is the threat, reigning Olympic champion. So eventually if these two face each other, the pressure will be on Djokovic to prove his number 1 ranking. He has been in many battles mentally so for sure he had battled his inner demons and so far won against it. So his psychological challenges can be tested again.

Zverev is the reigning Olympic champion but I agree that Medvedev can be a real threat for Djokovic (together with Zverev). The pressure in any match will always be on Djokovic and most of the times he can handle it well, but sometimes he fails (look at the Olympic games).

I feel sorry for Andreescu when played against Sakkari both played amazingly but unfortunately the third set she suffered an injury looking quite serious still continuing the match but finally had to lose, more than 3 hours and until late night.

F. A. Aliasime vs. C. Alcaraz whoever wins this will be the first experience of a Grand Slam semifinal, it will most likely be a match that lasts 5 sets.

Medvedev vs unkown van de Zandschulp, Medvedev hasn't drop a set yet in this tournament. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that van de Zandschulp might just break it and take one set. So over 27.5 is my bet.
Medvedev still looks very strong in this tournament because he is also in a relatively easy group, betting on Medvedev on ML is very unattractive because it is so low as Djokovic and Zverev, I chose over 8.5 in the first set.

After the first two sets I would have thought that will be a walk for Medvedev but after the 3rd set it has now become an exciting game, Zandschulp has improved after the first two clear sets and is now better in the game and can also challenge Medvedev, there is the possibility that it comes to a 5th set, would be for us spectators of course optimal and interesting.

Good call, van de Zandschulp took the 3rd set and you get your reward, excellent!

Ah its great to see some of the lower ranked players coming through like this
and getting rewarded for their efforts.

The 4th set was close, Medvedev was lucky it didnt go to a tie break.

Just watching now Svitolina v Fernandez with Fernandez going to take the first set.
This is another great match so far, Fernandez playing free and has the upper hand.

Medvedev drop a set for the first time in the third set, I also thought that it will go to a fifth set as van de Zandschulp really put a good performance in fourth, however, Medvedev closes out the show.

Alcaraz vs Felix-Auger, another exciting quarter finals match, this has the potential to become a thriller game and extended to fifth set, I would go over for this.

It didn't go that far, Medvedev won in 4 sets.

Auger-Aliassime vs Alcaraz Garfia is live now, it seems that Felix has the upper hand in the first set as he broke early to lead 4-2 and serving.

I also wanted this to be a marathon 5th set with tie breaks in the game, Alcaraz Garfia is one of the darlings of the crowd now and they are cheering for him to win to advance.

Edit: it was a walk-over, Felix going to advance to semis. Alcaraz retired due to injuries. Sad ending to this anticipated match.

I don't think anything is really a test for Djokovic at the moment. It's too easy, with Federer and Nadal fading out of the picture; there's no-one really at his level anymore.
I'd say the only person who can really beat him is himself, as when he blew up at the Olympics. His biggest challenge I think is not the other players, but retaining motivation and concentration in match after match when regardless of who stands across the net from him, he knows he's considerably better than his opponent. It's certainly a great position to be in, but when the whole world knows you're the best, this can bring its own, psychological, challenges.

Yes, well said. Because when you are the best in the world, people will eventually want you to win every game you play - which can sometimes lead to over-expectation, and as a consequence, you might get demoralized sometimes. The same thing happened with Djokovic. He is like the player having no competition at the same level as his. So yes, as a human being, you cannot always expect the best from him every single day.

So only one tournament brought you to your conclusion! I think that it's not always good to judge a player on the basis of one or two tournaments only.  Considering the legacy Djokovic has left behind which is kind of unmatched and one of its kind. But yes, I have to admit the Zverev is in the peak form of his life and a huge threat to whoever he faces in the coming days. And about the pressure on Djokovic, an established and famous player will always have the most pressure considering any given match and opponent he plays against.

I don't base myself on 1 tournament; I was just saying that while Djokovic has a very good mental strength, he still can fail (many didn't expect he would loose at the Olympics, including me). He is again the big favorite to win the title but the younger players are coming closer and closer. However, when Federer, Nadal and Djokovic will retire, I don't think that anybody will be able to dominate the field as these 3 have done.

BIG WINNER!

Fernandez, Annie vs Sabalenka, Aryna

In women's open, Leylah-Fernandez is now a real crowd favourite. She just turned 19 and is into her first Grand slam quarter-final. Whenever she plays, she plays with a purpose of winning. Next match (Fernandez, Annie) vs (Sabalenka, Aryna) placing my bet for Fernandez with 4.50 odds, don't know what is going to happen, but Fernandez is going to beat Sabalenka I'm sure.

Tomorrow will be the first real test for Đoković.

Well, Zverev and Medvedev will give him a run for his money for sure. He has to play both to win the tournament (I expect Zverev to beat Harris and Medvedev to beat Aliassime - although that one has the potential to be a great match).

He has 6-3 against Zverev (the last time they played Zverev destroyed him at the Olympics), 5-3 against Medvedev and in case in which Aliassime wins against Medvedev, it will be their 1st H2H game.

Anyway, won't be easy for Novak.

I'm in the opposite camp. I feel Aryna Sabalenka has the energy and enthusiasm to take her to the finals.

If I recall correctly, she paired with Ash Barty in a Women's doubles (before Wimbledon) taking out that particular competition.

I think Sabalenka is more likely to win. Of course Fernandez has been defying predictions all the way through the tournament, and she certainly has a chance of winning, but it's a brave prediction to say you're sure that Fernandez will win it.

You could say similar about Raducanu, who has now won 7 games at this tournament (including 3 in qualifying), without dropping a set. But she's not likely to win the whole thing. Both her and Fernandez are likely to lose at some point, and just because a lot of top seeds have gone, it doesn't make it likely that the number 2 seed will also fall.

Now that I've said that, watch me be completely wrong... Cheesy

I'm with you here, I think Sabalenka can prevail, as she has the tools and experience.

It's unfortunate that Alcaraz-Garfia will lose this way, I have given him the chance to win against FAA and it will be very close. But maybe he extended himself physically to reach this age, and it's not a good sign that at a very young age, he is already prone to injuries.

^^
yes the famous "Uncle Tony" who coached Nadal.

[..snip..]

[..snip..]

Medvedev vs unkown van de Zandschulp, Medvedev hasn't drop a set yet in this tournament. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that van de Zandschulp might just break it and take one set. So over 27.5 is my bet.

Good call, van de Zandschulp took the 3rd set and you get your reward, excellent!

Thanks,

I have over 39.5 between Felix - Auger-Aliassime, - Carlos Alcaraz but it was voided as Alcaraz wasn't able to finished the match. Haven't pull the trigger yet for the mens side, wanted to switch to women's side of betting this time.

I'm looking at Pliskova vs Sakkari, Pliskova + Bencic ML. Hope my winning streak continues.

Yea as much as I would live to see Fernandez getting through this next match
I think Sabalenka will have too much power in her shots than possibly Fernandez
has had to deal with in the tournament so far.

Fernandez has on her side speed and the ability to hit the angles at opportune times.
