And speaking of retirement, CP0 said that this is his last season in the NBA --> https://www.si.com/fannation/nba/fastbreak/spurs-free-agent-chris-paul-makes-big-announcement-about-nba-future

Well, Paul has had a good career overall, as he has become one of the best point guards in NBA history. The only thing is that he never got a ring, although he was very close to it when he was with the Suns.
However, he still has one more attempt to get a ring, but for that, he needs to sign a contract with a team that will be a title contender next season.

Yeah, I think the Lakers might be the best landing spot for him, especially since he already has chemistry with Ayton, it could feel like Lob City all over again.

In my opinion, the Lakers still have a real chance at a championship. Just imagine LeBron and CP3 finally winning a title together, they’re close friends, and that storyline would be something special. Another possible fit could be the Warriors. Even though both teams had a short playoff run this year, I still see them as legitimate championship contenders if they make the right moves.

He is good but always choke or injured when he needed the most on the playoffs. He is a monster point guard on regular season but somehow his game collapsed on crucial matches that’s why ring is to evasive on him.

He needed a team that full of young talent so that he can lead them using his experience.

His game is reliant to a team that already has a chemistry. I think his current team Spurs is good fit for him if he stay since Wemby, Castle and Fox are monster once they will play together for long time.

Yeah, Luka is known to make big guys look good, like Lively and Gafford when he was still playing with the Mavs. This big men will have high percentage shot because of the lob pass coming from Luka.

So for sure, Ayton will have his time doing that, instead of his short jump, midrange shot when he was in Portland. Definitely, we can't compare him to AD as they are very different. But just imagine if your big guy can dominate or at least give you a good 15-17 per night. That will be a big addition to the Lakers already.
JJ should set on who's going to be a playmaker. They've got Luka, they have Lebron too. But I think Lebron should give way to Luka and just guide him if ever he's need there. And if Luka holds the ball, he's the one to look for a spot whether to have a jumper or get some free space for rotation. It really depends on how they're going to agree with JJ's play and while inside the court, both have the great basketball IQ. But that's I wish for them to do if Lebron can give way and make Luka do most of the plays.

Everyone talks about Lakers and such trades. I feel bad for the OKC. They've been the champs for the season.
But after that, it didn't last long and the talks and attention went through the trades that are happening now.
They're champs but the celebration didn't took long and the attention that it lingers to most fans didn't last as well.

To bad OKC is small market and it seems that people are not focus on the achievement they acquired.

People are to focus right now on current free agency that's why there are lots of speculation happened on each team also for players got involve on the discussions happening.

I also guess people are done discussion about what happen on the championship since people now discuss about those adjustment, trades and other things since people want to see new good action on their favorite teams on next season.

That's also one of the reasons I'm thinking as to why not that many are talking about them after they won the title. For me, it's the same as to when the Nuggets won the title in 2023 where after they won, nobody or only few talked about them.

Also, I don't think that there's any significant thing that's happening on OKC right now. After that massive contract signing of SGA, no news is happening around the team already, and they aren't involve in any trades this off-season as well, and speaking of off-season, of course, analysts and reporters will focus more on those teams that are doing trades during the offseason. We're done with the "champion" discussion already, and we are now on the "who will be traded and which team" type of discussion now.

Yeah, they've got a small market and with the first championship that they have. It should stayed quite longer than expected but it's not.
I remember when the first championship of Nuggets was won, it was a grand parade and celebration and Jokic has been in the headlines for so many weeks and even with his horses, the paparazzi's and sports media channels and news articles are all over them.

Rockets got Kevin Durant and Clint Capela. They built an ambitious roster for this season.

Clearly Rockets wants an immediate result this season after experiencing early exit on Playoffs while they have a strong roster composition.

They saw the potential for Sengun to become a power forward that’s why they added another good center with Clint Capela and Durant as alternative PF/SF role that is much better role shift in exchange for trading Brooks and Green that is inconsistent on their games.

I think Rockets is scary team this season especially that they will have a lot of prep time for the playoffs since the trade happened before the season the started.

Great acquisition, they’re clearly serious about building a contender.

With the experience of Durant and the presence of Capela, that’s a big boost to the team. This is exactly the kind of situation Durant needs, a young, defensively solid roster where he doesn’t have to carry the load all by himself.

I really hope this works out, because if it turns into another failed run for Durant, people might start saying he only won championships because he joined Curry and the Warriors.
So in a way, this is also a big challenge for him, a chance to prove he can lead a team to a title on his own terms.

I just remember now that Clint Capela was a Rockets player way back to James Harden prime on that team. He is a monster center that time that’s why I made a research to verify my memory if correct.

Rockets now have both Adams and Capela as experienced center. They just need to utilize roster properly since they have complete line-up even with their bench.

I think this is true, KD never have a good run after his GSW days. All the team that he lands usually struggle on the playoffs with early exit. Suns have a better run without KD on their roster.

There was a three-way trade in the NBA.

Heat: Norman Powell
Clippers: John Collins
Jazz: Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson, 2027 2nd round pick

I think the Jazz were the ones who suffered the most from this trade. I still can't figure out what the Jazz were trying to do.

This is the reason why we usually see the same teams usually win many titles while others don't. And I know that it has been a while since we saw a major market end up with a big run, but that has been the history. Boston is a huge market and won last year. Golden state wasn't a huge market, but did became a huge market when they got taken over and became the de facto "silicon valleys team" which has billionaires and rich folks so they do make profit even on bad years now. That's how you know you are a big market team, you make money, even on bad years.

There are very few teams that won many titles while being a small market team. Spurs is one of them, but rest could be considered bigger, Boston, Lakers, bulls, Destroit, Philly, these are bigger cities than San Antonio and Oklahoma.

Kevin Love seemed a bit sad he’s now included in trades “as a math problem.” He’s not getting any younger though so I’m sure he understands.

The Lakers look like they’re close to signing Al Horford. He’s a winner. I think he would be a great addition and would hopefully help keep Ayton on task.

I think this is true, KD never have a good run after his GSW days. All the team that he lands usually struggle on the playoffs with early exit. Suns have a better run without KD on their roster.

I agree with that, and also, I already said before that Kevin Durant can't carry a team. It's a proven and tested way back in his Oklahoma City Thunder days and prime years. He is definitely a scoring machine, but if not teamed up with at least 2-3 players with the same level of his caliber, he's just a typical scoring guy.

Plus, the fact that he's already on his post-prime, I'm not sure why the Rockets limit their salary cap on getting a superstar. If they keep Jalen Green instead, I think the Rockets even have more chances to run deeper in the next several seasons.

And the worst scenario here, if the Rockets fail next season, they will understand how the Brooklyn Nets feel. Smiley

He's never got a ring but he's with the national team for Olympics and got 2 gold medals there. He's still got a colorful career and became an inspiration to the young generation.

This is the last season for his attempt to get a ring. I wish that he'll get into a championship team and gets his own ring with them.

Just like Al Horford, he doesn't anymore wherever he's going to get traded because he's got a ring already and might retire soon.

They have made very good moves and have a much better squad than the one that finished 2nd last season. It's clear that the goal this season is the championship. They sent out inconsistent players Green and Brooks and got in return one of the best scorers in history and a solid center. If Capela will be healthy, he and Şengün can dominate the paint. I get the Robinson - Duncan vibe from this duo. What they lack in offense, they will make up with KD. They'll definitely challenge the Thunder in the West. Considering that we've seen different finals and different champions in recent seasons, I see the Rockets as a serious championship candidate in the new season.

Paolo Banchero signed a 5 year max rookie contract extension that could reach $287,000,000! That’s crazy. I haven’t seen him play much, but I had no idea he was going to be getting that kind of money. I think the NBA might be broken. Fans can’t afford to see games and mid players are going to be billionaires.

The NBA is really starting to get ridiculous. I don't know how right it is to pay these players this much money, but I don't think there is anything more ridiculous than these players making this much money.
The old players would definitely want to play now, if Stephen Curry was playing in this era, he would probably sign a contract for $500 million or more.

Rockets got Kevin Durant and Clint Capela. They built an ambitious roster for this season.

Clearly Rockets wants an immediate result this season after experiencing early exit on Playoffs while they have a strong roster composition.

I think Rockets is scary team this season especially that they will have a lot of prep time for the playoffs since the trade happened before the season the started.

What's even scarier is the injury history of these players. All three Durant, Capela and Sengun suffered injuries last season. Although none of them were too serious injury, it will still affect how many games they can play this season.

I know Green and Dillon weren't the most consistent players, but I'd say they were part of the reason why the Rockets had decent run in the regular season last year. I don't see that happening again with this current lineup.

Just look at what happened to the Phoenix Suns after acquiring Kevin Durant. They became worse team and didn't even make it to the playoffs not even the play-in tournament. lol
