There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

With the new beta driver is it still needed to copy files from an old version to get multi cards to work? i Have both RX480 and RX580 all bios modded, if that matters.

The driver mixing was only to get 6 or more RX 580 cards to work on the same rig. I'm pretty sure you don't need to mix the drivers since 17.6. I have two 6 card rigs with mixed RX 4XX/5XX cards and have never needed to mix the drivers. You do need to patch the driver Bios signature check with cards that have a modded Bios except for the RX 580's.

hello
i have a big problem with the last version and all over miners. works with 3 cards and when i want to put 4 gpu cards on my rig, it crashes...
all the same cards, Under win10 fresh installed, AMD driver 17.4.4, stock cards, psu 1200w seasonic prime on asrock H81 rev2

risers are ok because:
- gpu 1+2+3 => ok
- gpu 1+2+4 => ok
- gpu 1+2+3+4 => ko...

claymore start well and detect the 4 gpu's but crashed before to start mining, just after GPU detect.

please help me !!

- Make sure the card is not sharing power with another card
- Make sure each riser not sharing its power with another riser
- Run all cards on stock BIOS and stock seetings
- Uninstall MSI AB or similar software
- Run DDU in safe mode
- Reinstall AMD driver, the latest
- Run Claymore with minimal settings -cvdcc 1000 -mvdcc 1500

Share results and screenshots from GPU-Z

hello,
i did everything and its still the same problem... im running now Under 4 cards and it's crashing.
Under GPUZ i don't see any problem and all the cards are detected. no time to post screenshots for the moment.
any idea ?

I have been reading this forum a lot lately and thought I would join the community.

I have installed the new BETA drivers on my 7 GPU rig (mix of RX 480's/580's 4gb/8gb) and have seen a noticeable improvement. Went from 172Mh/s to 184Mh/s
I have to use WattMan and Afterburner combined to reduce volts and underclock/overclock - anyone have any better suggestions? (WattMan is a nightmare!!)

I have also noticed slight erratic behavior at first with these new drivers, a card or 2 would dip and then come back - perhaps teething issues as it appears to be running a bit more consistently now.

Claymore - Keep up the good work man!

Thanks for the heads up

  • Can you tell us if you are able to undervolt/overclock via Claymore's Dual Miner directly (through input parameters in the bat file) ?
  • In the beta driver's description it says
This driver is not intended for graphics or gaming workloads
Can you tell us anything on this? Try watching some porn or something  Grin

No time for screenshots? It does not take time at all...
What does take time is thinking about your problem and coming up with a solution with very limited information....

Does the undervolt via bat file work with official amd beta?

Undervolt does not seem to work with these latest AMD Beta Drivers and laters Claymore v9.8

We need a quick hot fix from Claymore.

Is there any way to officially report bugs ?

It works fine with AB beta. Read a few pages back....

Which link did you use to install the driver?
What is the driver number in Device manager?
Run DDU and reinstall the driver.
You do not have to install AMD settings and use Wattman at all.
MSI AB does that all...

I've tried out the new official beta drivers on a small test rig, there was no need to apply the 'atikmdag-patcher' patch.
With 17.7.1 drivers I get 59Mh/s with beta drivers I get 61Mh/s.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx

What are your cards?

Three cards in this rig RX580 , RX480 and a R9 270x. The RX580 & RX480 have modded BIOS.

Funny thing though, tried the new beta driver in one of my 6 card rigs, a mix of RX480's & RX580's with moded BIOS, after beta driver installation all but one card was seen by Catalyst/Claymore - running the 'atikmdag-patcher' made the 6th card visible, but there was absolutely no change in hashrate ?

Edit: Hashrate before beta drivers installed 156Mh/s, hashrate after beta drivers installed 156Mh/s.

I used the link below:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-[Suspicious link removed]pute-Release-Notes.aspx
Driver number in device manager shows as 22.19.659.0 with date 08.08.2017
Thanks, I will try using DDU and do a clean install of the drivers soon and see if it helps with MSI AB, the clock options are grayed out also with the 4.4.0 beta version - for now the rig seems to be running smoothly so will avoid poking at it for now.

Edit: Seems the link gets broken when I paste, but was the one from a page or 2 ago.

Afterburner 440beta12 did not work, but it has not worked before and took a bit of tweaking to get it work. It's getting late - or should I say early - and dont have the energy right now to mess with it more, will play around with it a bit later on.

You have to use Afterburner beta 16 with the new drivers.

http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5459908&postcount=637

Hi All,

I have installed the new beta driver and Afterburner beta 16 and found the following,

Using Claymore 9.8 gave me a hell of high wattages use, so I have opt back to 9.7 to try and it's better on wattage use.

I'm mining ETC and with the DAG @ 143 I had 52.2 MH on 2 x RX480 Sapphire after install of beta drivers I have 59-60.1 MH

Thanks claymore for your great work on this miner.

Claymore 9.8
AMD Driver 17.7.2

3x Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8 GB

When changing from mining to devfee mining -if I am mining other DAG than devfee DAG I am having problems when dev finishes mining as Wattman settings (voltage) and hashrate is changed - my card starts to consume same power as it would not be undervolted... Am I the only one with this issue ? I finally managed to have stable settings 1150 2150 900 or 950 and not working because of devfee mining...  Undecided

i had to go to my job this morning, not enought time sorry.
here is the screenshot with one card, it seem that there an exclamation behind my card. Conflict between windows drivers and AMD driver ??
do i have to use DDU each time i add a card and re install crimson AMD drivers 17.7.2 ?
https://www.noelshack.com/2017-33-3-1502867786-capture.png

i tried to use simplemining and it does not work well at all... only 10mhs with 3 cards and gpu core often low at 300 instead of 1236, really strange.
