The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

AFAIK 140 blocks (confirms) according to the source code. About 70 minutes.

So I'm finally done reading all 279 pages. Thanks a ton for all the informative posts in here.

I'm also now connected to that dwarfpool thingy and getting "yay" all the time.

Two questions:
1) When I go from solo to pool mining, do I have to change anything in the maxcoin.conf file or are the commands given to cudaminer enough?
2) When solomining you use a different username compared to pools which seem to be using the wallet adress. Are both these usernames stored in the same wallet.dat or do you have to switch between different wallet.dat when you go from pool to solo or vice versa?

Dumb Q (or maybe not so dumb?):
Can I "withdraw" BTCs from mcxnow directly to btc-e, or I must really withdraw it in my BTC wallet, and then resend (deposit) it to btc-e?

(BTW... MAX@ 83MH/s on GTX570)

When you are poolmining you don't have to worry about what's in the conf file of the wallet at all.

It's much safer to withdraw to your wallet first.

Oh okay. I actually changed some stuff in the conf file because I wasn't able to connect. I now realize that was because of the ddos attacks against said pool.

So, in essence I can change everything back which should speed up swapping between solo and pool mining.

Thanks a ton.

yea, all you need to switch from solo to pool is 2 different .bat files to launch cudaminer, and don't touch the wallet.

Of course the coin value is dropping; in order to sell these things (which everyone who makes any does as fast as they can) someone has to want to buy them. Who would spend real cash on another pumped altcoin? Serious question.

With a volume right now at 2100BTC and counting, and thats just from one exchange, I would say alot of people are willing to buy them

I'm sure people are buying. But as a miner (both AMD and Nvidia), if you are buying at these prices you are out of your mind. MaxCoin is a miner's wet dream right now. It's only being held up in price by the fact that the only pool where AMD GPUs can mine right now doesn't really work (and no AMD solo miner either). I've got 1 GH/s on the AMD side, and nothing to show for it after a few hours while a single Titan has returned 1.5 BTC.
