hmm ok thanks, i really need to try and get a 500 gh/s soon, but prices are crazy, and not sure when the new neptunes will ship.  I guess if i bought a 500 one, i could always sell it later, for close to what i paid

yeah with the projected difficulty increase (ie and maybe knc selling more jupiters) I'd probably make more btc coin by selling the Jupiter 555gh unit from oct 18th Now..then what I could get out of the beast by the time the neptunes come out.

but then again I'm unsure how much to trust ebay on such a transaction so kinda stumped....but if the goal  is to make coin likely I should sell the dang thing before the next batch of jupiters goes out

(likely i'll just keep it till it is doorstop ...inertia is my constant friend)

I just posted this in the eligius thread but thought I'd ask here as well:
My rejected shares on my oct jup are way higher than my nov jup can anyone enlighten me if the numbers are high/low good/bad or normal?

Quote
JupOct
12 Hours   530.05 Gh/s   5331392 (380)
3 Hours   555.76 Gh/s   1397504 (64)
22.5 Minutes   554.64 Gh/s   174336 (6)
JupNov
12 Hours   620.74 Gh/s   6243552 (102)
3 Hours   666.02 Gh/s   1674752 (9)
22.5 Minutes   662.96 Gh/s   208384 (0)
Are others getting similar numbers with oct jup on eligius or other pools?

Edit:accepted then rejected shares in brackets

Prediction time! I think KnC will sell their next batch of Jupiters for $4,495 each (too high, I know) and ship them around Jan 20th to both existing customers and new customers.

What do you guys predict?

Why are people mentioning making wafers and stuff regarding the Jupiter sales? They said they would ship from stock.

Switch from eligius to ghash, your results will improve significantly.

The fans are oversized and run at full speed all the time, but it's not too loud if you intend to leave the case on. I hardly notice the heat when I put my hand by the exhaust. I wouldn't mind it if it were in my bedroom.

My 5 are in my basement, they aren't hot to touch, but if you leave the basement doors open and a little fan on they soon warm the downstairs of my house.

2 of my chips run at 70-75 degrees though, so that might be something to do with it.

In other news, on successful delivery of my replacement board, they'd also chucked in a few goodies for me. Love these guys! I'm so glad I bet on the right horse.

Noise wont be an issue they are not that loud you wouldn't hear it over your air conditioner you could always swap the fans our for some noctua ones if needed. Heat may be an issue depending on where you live or how good your air conditioning is my portable air con cant keep up since I added my nov jup to my oct one but thats on a hot day on a cold day they warm the rooms quite well. But I'll be watercooling at least one in the new year just to drop the heat output a little so that is always an option in a hot climate.

Found my third block with my Oct Jup on Eligius today  Grin

Didn't find one with my Nov Jup on Slush's till now  Sad

stupid question, but what does it mean if you find a block? do you get most of the btc?

The pool gets the reward from all the blocks found by the members. The pool income is then payed to the members proportional to their delivered shares.

anyone knows how it works on slush? on the account page there is a "blocks found" box... I assume that would toggle to 1 if I found a block (even thou I'd have to 'share' it grrrr)

On the ...oin.cz/accounts/profile/ webpage which shows  your workers, the worker will have a 1 under Found Blocks and beneath the list of workers you'll see Found Blocks by all your workers by block number.
