This is the problem, Bitcoin is unregulated.  No one miner or pool owner can be trusted.  The only person you can trust is yourself but, there is no money to be made solo with 700Gh/s. (Plus having to run a node,... unless the transaction payments go up big-time).
When Slush went down last night i cut my hashpower to them because you just don't know where its going.  But what can a UK miner do.  Go to a pool in China? or one in the the US? (after hearing Trump's greed chants, no thanx) If someone is gona make money from my mining, I want it to go into a country i support.  Why hasn't Russia got a pool? Sad

Anyway, what should I vote for... and why?

BTW all out there, Slush put this on Facebook 6th March 08:19 GMT
I have experienced a major crash of our web server and one of the EU stratum servers. All mining traffic has been working correctly, so no damage to the mined shares - all shares have been cached. The workload of the failed stratum has been taken over by the rest of the infrastructure. The data is currently being synchronized to the database. I expect all mining results to be up and synced within an hour. I have put the web into maintenance mode temporarily so that you are not confused by showing partially mined results. ‪#‎mineasone‬

If we vote on Slushpool, does that mean that we are committing our hashpower to one block size only?  With greater than 85% of the pool uncommitted and the voted around 14-15%:  Questions -  is the pool hash split?  Does the collective pool hash rate continue mining on what the pool find or do the miners only mine blocks according to how they vote?

Ridiculously bad luck these days... I've lost almost 4 BTC with renting hashing power... This was a big big big mistake!
Now I'm definitely sure to keep bitcoins away from any risky investments ever Sad

So I'm a small-scale miner... averaging about 1.1 Th/s on this pool.  Lately things have been really terrible.  We're currently almost 24 hours between blocks... what's going on?  I was thinking about switching pools, though I have no clue where to go.  I thought about that new bcmonster or whatever it's called.

If you play with dice, statistically, you have a chanceof 6  to make 6.

But sometimes it can get you to play 20X without making a 6.

This is the same for finding block, it is a matter of chance. Normally we must find 6 blocks per day, or one every 4 hours. But sometimes we find 3 in less than an hour, other times one in a day.

On a pool of this size, the value begins to be stable, that is the monthly average. And yet it fluctuates a bit, +/- 10% is not abnormal. It's very difficult to know on short period if something is wrong.

Also you forgot to mention that the communication with the captain is the same as the pool luck but with huge difficulty. If something is wrong he will answer once in 10000 times. Good luck

Yes Slush have very bad comunication.  And pool had some problems last 6 mounths (abnormal invalid blocks, low efficiency (slush tell us it was a block wistholding problem...)

But if you look about on year results of the pool , it's not catastrophic.
On the other hand, there are good things about this Pool

If you want  realy stable profits, go to a PPS pool. the fee are little more expensive but it's the best solution... It is impossible to cheat discreetly on a PPS pool

This has really turned in to such a crappy pool.  Almost 24 hours with no blocks and the dashboard shows a 120% day.  Yeah.. 120% crap. Cheesy
