Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Slush's Pool has been an expensive venture these past couple of days ... Not sure how much longer people are willing to wait! ...Especially when other pools appear to be mining along nicely ...

Also, we had like 3 orphaned blocks within 2 days...yes, that sux, but NONE during the last couple of weeks if I am not mistaken, and on average 1-2% of blocks are orphaned so nothing really weird here. OK? We all done soiling our panties now? PS You want to see sustained bad luck? Check out BTC Guild. They have looooong stretches of bad luck. Jun 21-Jul 10 for example....! |

Can someone explain, my reward seems to be about the same for each block. Is that right how it works? Even if I have lets say 5THs miner setup and it takes a week to find a block, I will get same reward ? And then its also possible on other hand to find 10 blocks in one day and get reward for each one within that time period?

Your payout is for your score of accepted shares during that block. Your payout depends on your hashtate, the pools hash rate and the difficulty at the time. |
