Hey all y'all smarty pants.

Wondering if Anyone has any brilliant predictions or explanations as to why the $/btc is plummeting so insanely quick.   At the rate it going.   It'll be like $340-80 by mid Oct.

It would be nice to have a $/btc rise instead of $/btc plummet and a difficulty skyrocket.

Still making profit.  But all these factors. And the slow blocks, are makingnit a lot harder to make money.

Any ideas why it went to $500 for like 2-3 days, and all of a sudden back to plummeting yet seems to be plumettingba hell of a lot faster.

there was an article i was reading said the surge was by bullish peeps trying to kickstart next increase but in article before we hit 380 they were saying 320-380 should be the bottom if the previous corrections etc since the 1k days in dec then should start its rise again but who knows downward pressure keeps increasing dish network overstock ebay etc

Oh dang.  Yea  it usually get worse before it ever gets any better.   Kind of expecting the drop.

Cheesy.   God I hope it goes back up soon.      Iv been keeping a mad close eye on the btc diff.    So far... Its going to drop.

Started at buying 9 ms1 for $80.00 ea.    Had 1.3th/s running for 1 1/2 weeks.  Now im seling em for $130 ea

WHICH IS INDEED WORKING.

So I can upgrade to s3s.    Going pretty well.

I wish all my luck to slush and the $/btc price.

This is sort is sort if off topic.    (Slush seems to have been doing a bit bad lately since diff rise)

I'm sellingn some of my Antminer s1s to upgrade to s3s.   I'm not 100% on the whole how the shipping works.

Butm willing to sell $130 CAD ea miner.

Or 4 miners for $90 CAD EA 1 PSU for every 2 miners bought.

I'll also throw in a free 2gh/s USB miner for free.

I accept PayPal or payment by bitcoin.

Just send me a mssg if your interested.

I'm not reall dedicated to the s3 but all I need is a miner a bit more powerful than the s1.

Offers???

s1's on ebay are dropping for $50-70 USD. r u saying $130 each?Huh

Well thats good for other people.  Loosing profit Tongue     why would i lower the price when i have tons of buyers?     I dont get it.   IF people dont want it or some shit,  why respond to it.

People can sell em for w.e the hell they want, as long as  ur making money off it.  I've made $20-50 more than what I spent to buy them/

Testy Testy...

JT

He's not being testy your being a jerk, mind you own business its a free country he can ask anything he wants for his stuff without you throwing your 2 cents into something
that is non of your business.

Bob

and I can ask if he meant $130 when they are selling for under $80 on ebay...
The odd thing is to get all angry cuz someone noted they are much cheaper somewhere else...
When u r buying its ok but when u r selling its OMG no u dint!

It wasn't an offense, only that the recent price moves are anything but extraordinary when it comes to bitcoin.

Yea..  And I was merely just asking a questions for all u bitcoin mathmaeticians. That know a lot more  with it all and stuff.

I'm aware this kind if thing happens with btc.   It'd s just nice to get info sometimes, info on your theories.

In my view the following aspects have the most significant effect on the bitcoin markets (not in any specific order):

- Annual inflation of 10%

- Most merchants do not keep considerable amount of btc, they convert at POS (hopefully this will change with wider adoption and hedging)

- Regulatory uncertainties and the hostile attitude of banks and MSM

- Demand because of utility (be it remittance, dnm, gambling, porn, speculation, etc)

- Sub-optimal coin distribution

Considering that the fundamentals have not been changed or affected, I think there's no reason to be concerned, though volatility can be expected for many years to come. At the end of the day, it all comes down to supply and demand (and your personal risk tolerance). For me bitcoin is a definite buy below 450.

btw, nobody knows considerably more than you, so you shouldn't listen to anyone but yourself. for most people it's a random walk.

Our brokerage doesn't keep the coins. We immediately sell them and convert to USD. However, we do keep the coins we mine.

I think that when the exchange rate becomes stable enough people will begin keeping more coins. But when a major portion (or most of) their business is run using fiat currency, it makes no sense to keep coins and watch some of your investment go down 10% in a day.

Indeed, I completely agree with this part. Perfectly illustrates how early we are. Look into hedging, hopefully it will be a reality soon for bitcoin.

Also, stability comes with wider adoption and better coin distribution.

If you run a btc business the least you can do is to pay your expenses in btc (eg.: internet services and other things that you can buy with btc) and urge your suppliers/utility companies/employees to accept it.

I doubt the BTC will ever be stable enough for a company to keep its cash in BTC.
there are too many devious ways to manipulate it.
Companies only care about profit which means you must cash out asap. dropping on 1% is a 1% loss and a loss is bad, the ceo doesnt get a 10% bonus with a 1% loss!

Just got my S1 upgrades done (finally, the kit has been here for about a week). Great news two of my S1's are now hashing at 478GH/s each at the first attempt.

I haven't upgraded the firmware yet as the Bitmain site seems to be offline but just changing the values in asic-freq to the default level for S3's has got me hashing at a much higher rate, and using less electricity!

I am sure my natural exuberance will be tempered by an increase in difficulty and global hashing rate, but just let me have my few minutes of enjoyment as i watch my hash rate grow.

I found it very easy to strip down the S1 and install the upgrade, but I think Bitmain went over the top when they put the thermal grease on the S1's as there was loads, and it was quite uneven. In my experience its always best to have a smooth even coating to get the heat away from the board.

I hope that the firmware upgrade will be simple and i intent to do it ion the next few days.
