Probably because he's an Anoncoin bagholder that bought when it was $2. Zerocoin was also abandoned last I heard....Useless crap anyway.

You're absolutely wrong on Zerocoin, but I'll let you look that up for yourself ya dumbass scammer. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=256238

Scammer? I have no scam marks against me genius.

Show me otherwise that Zerocoin is Not abandoned.

Your profiles "Untrusted feedback" kinda tells a different story. Either way regarding your statement. Everyone knows that zerocoin was abandoned by the original developers who released the first whitepaper, then moved on to the new concept of zerocash which is a trust based setup. This is unacceptable to most users that require anonymity or invest in the product as infinite coins could be created, or their identities/transactions exposed by the devs.

Back on track. We are in fact developing zerocoin based on the whitepaper released and has been for months. This means we are tweking the original ideas but the concept is still the same, weeding out the issues that made them abandon it for zerocash. Adding our trustless setup makes it, at least at this time, unique as neither the users or dev team will be able to manipulate it.

It still wont offer anonymity comparable to Zerocash or Cryptonote...That's why the original Zerocoin devs abandoned it.

Not comparable because zerocoin with the trustless improvements will actually be better than zerocash. Grin zerocash will basically be at risk 24/7. If the devs lost control over their keys at any point it will likely crash and burn.

The original devs did not abandon zerocoin due to anonymity issues. They abandoned it for other reasons like blockchain bloat, and a few other issues that can actually be solved with a rather large amount of work put into it. In conclusion; you sir are talking shit and have clearly not read anything but scam coin propaganda. We welcome and encourage an open discussion in this thread, but please refrain from simply throwing around false statements without any source to back them up.

Another good post from BroTroxer,  so new ppl can see main things without much reading of past posts..

I don't think Anoncoin will move much until ZC is implemented.
People were excited months ago, but since all that took so long ... they lose faith.

It's just like with many other coins ... slowly but surely people want to see significant improvement in a Coins development. Most of the people however don't know reality very well and that delays are normal, such as problems in development.

So true.  It's far better to progress slowly but successfully, than to rush it and ruin an otherwise world-changing coin.

The Anoncoin project is pleased to announce the following bounty

Short description: Publication of an article about bitcoin-related privacy/anonymity solutions on a cryptocurrency or internet-privacy web site.

Amount: 250 ANC for the first article. The amount paid for any subsequent articles will be determined based on the reserves of the anoncoin donation address after accounting for all other open bounties. This bounty may be closed at any time following payout of the first article.

Details

The objective of this bounty is to have an article written and published that describes the available privacy/anonymity solutions that are currently available to crytpocurrencies. The article is to provide a simple analysis of the pros and cons of each method that should be understandable to an informed individual who is not a cryptocurrency expert.

This article must discuss the following topics: Stealth Addresses, Darksend (including the use of "Master nodes"), CoinJoin, Dark Wallet, CryptoNote based Ring Signatures, Zerocoin, and Zerocash. For Zerocoin and Zerocash, the distinction between setting up the initial parameters in a trustless manner using RSA UFOs vs. using trusted third parties must be made.

It is anticipated that at least one paragraph will be required to discuss each topic, and that several others will be required for a comparative analysis of the pros and cons that weigh the level of anonymity of each solution. The length of the article should thus be about 10 paragraphs.

Payment will made after the article is published on an internet website that specializes in either cryptocurrencies or internet privacy.

The official announcement can be found on the Anoncoin wiki: https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Anoncoin_Wiki

This is the first Bounty being offered by the Anoncoin project. If you would like to see further bounties, please donate ANC to the project at this link: https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Donate

I would love to read that article! Trying to do some research on anon coins and an article like this would be great.

I am going to waste a lot of time on that page. Already I've learned that some big traders in anc are extremely active and also that there are some extremely hardcore people who keep buying large amounts of anc every few months.

I have to figure out what is going on with https://coinplorer.com/ANC/Addresses/AY6F4YHPn9eJYkRGk7omPg1KPEpyNunGbc
Why would someone constantly send out 5anc? 331 pages of transactions. 5 coin reward, got it. That person first sent to https://coinplorer.com/ANC/Addresses/ANMEgQsWwZwWYTyxJmtC44DjAScMhiLP5c who is also a wealthy superminer. And that wallet sent many coins back to the first wallet, around in circles. But the coins seem to end up mainly in cold wallets like https://coinplorer.com/ANC/Addresses/AccAvVHZr3SZFkajiyGbAYDUuNMHfgcbyB so the person is accumulating still today.

Great post up there for BTC38, and good observation on addresses!
I think few of them know why they are hodl ANC,
rest of us can speculate and think too much , and at the end sold under the price like many other examples with cryptocoins.

Explorers, Distribution and Big Whale Wallets should not be one of the Concerns of ANC fans.

We will never know for sure who the wallet belongs to nor will we ever know the correct Distribution

I'm not concerned,  and that top wallets are not so big if you look other coins..
What someone mentioned one or two times on forum,
problem is that ANC devs don't have much ANC

Owning ANC means there is a financial incentive to make the coin succeed and become valuable. If the developer(s) owns peanuts (and refuses to buy at these low prices), it indicates a complete lack of faith in not only the zerocoin implementation being released in september, but the future of ANC as a whole.

The more invested, the more reason they have to work on improving the coin.

The less invested, the less reason to give a shit.

Good point.
Tough i think almost all ANC devs have "some" ANC, i dont know why he came up with it.

I for one, am not a "dev" to make profits, but to create something awesome.

It seems to me that devs who buy a lot of their own coins and brag about it are most
likely trying to pump up the value just so that they can dump their coins and  make short
term profit at the expense of others who trust those devs.

One thing I really like about ANC is that the devs seem to be spending their time working on
creating a coin with more use and value than bitcoin, rather than spending time trying to
convince others to buy their coin.  And if that's the case, then whatever ANCs they
are holding will balloon in value.  If that is the case, then keeping ANC low profile so
that they can be bought cheap for as long as possible (until the strongest anonymity
to date comes online and the public gets wind of it) is the smartest thing to do.

If you take the time to read up on ANC info out there, and stop worrying about frequent
updates, then you will take a long term view.

But if all you want to do is buy and sell for quick gains... well, there are plenty of coins
good for that.

Maybe, if you take a look through the list of ANC wallets (link posted in an earlier post),
you will find many people are holding ANCs.  That might tell you something.

The Anoncoin project is pleased to announce the following bounty - Links for ANC

Short description: Addition of a new commercial internet web site that accepts ANC to the Anoncoin wiki.

Amount: 5 ANC for each link, with a maximum of 10 links per user.

Details

The objective of this bounty is to have the Anoncoin community find commercial internet web sites that accept ANC, and to add a link to this site on the Anoncoin wiki page Places that accept Anoncoin (https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Places_that_accept_Anoncoin). 5 ANC will be paid for each link, with a limit of 10 links per user. As part of this bounty, the community is encouraged to convince internet commerce sites to accept Anoncoin.

An acceptable link is one that points to a web site that accepts directly ANC (payable to an ANC address provided by the site), one that is not already on the current list of places that accept Anoncoin, and one that sells at least one type of product or service. The link must be added to the wiki in its appropriate category, along with a short phrase summarizing the content of the site, by the person claiming the bounty. If the person does not already have an account to access the wiki, one will be created by contacting one of the wiki administrators (Geekz, Lunokhod, or Meeh).

Exchanges, porn sites, scam sites, or sites that are clearly illegal will not be considered. Payout is under the condition of suitable funds in the ANC donation address after all other bounties are accounted for. The conditions of this bounty are subject to change.

The official announcement can be found on the Anoncoin wiki: https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Anoncoin_Wiki

If you would like to see further bounties, please donate ANC to the project at this link: https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Donate

Please support businesses that support Anoncoin!

How are we doing on this?

https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin/issues/35

Now that we are done with RSA UFO generation, this should be one of the last steps before Zerocoin beta can begin right?

Thanks!
