And another orphan block, too.

Yeah, that's becoming annoying. I lose about 30 BTC every time due to the prepay perk. I have now increased connectivity to the bitcoin network to help reduce orphans.

Anyone running bitcoin-qt/bitcoind from bitcoin.org, please upgrade to v0.6.3. It has faster block propagation which helps reduce orphans for all pools.

On a side note, roll-ntime is now enabled on the server for all miners that support it, to increase efficiency. This means your miner program won't need to talk to the server quite as often.

What's up with the high stales ? My connection was crippled this morning. Last 3 or so days were strange for me. Not sure where the problem is.

Sorry for the instability this morning.

I woke up just as it was passing. Not sure if it was a networking issue - I couldn't see any problems on the server.

Could you try deleting java temporary files and trying again? You find that under java control panel, which you can access from windows control panel if you are on windows. You can also reach it by running "javaws -viewer" from command line on any OS. I had this problem when switching from java 6 to java 7 on a Windows machine.

the site is still unstable as hell...

A couple times today there has been 1500+ more connections than usual and 3-4 times the normal CPU usage. Not sure yet what's causing it as I haven't had the luck to watch it as it happens.

a bit strange still, webpage again cannot be loaded, so much people would like to mine on bitminter  Huh Roll Eyes ( Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /.

Reason: Error reading from remote server)

but the mining is running, thats the most important thing.

Yup, I finally got them both up!  One is having issues with a few FPGAs disconnecting, requiring a manual rescan to get them going again.  I'm going to try a different USB extension cord to see if that helps.

Is it currently possible to schedule re-scans at an interval of every 5 minutes or something?

Edit: I found the options to "Rescan for added/removed FPGAs" and to set an interval, but they are greyed out.  Is that a pending feature?

Boo yah!  First block minted with my mini-rigs was the smack-down of a 73.1% CDF nuisance.

Heh, sorry...Perhaps I'm the nuisance.  I'm just too excited today.

I'll calm down and instead use my energy to post pics/videos of the rigs (tomorrow, I hope).

Congrats on the minirigs WhitePhantom! Smiley

This was a feature in an earlier beta version. But the serial port library I was using would leak a file descriptor/handle every time it scanned a serial port that was already in use by another program. After running for a while the program would run out of file descriptors.

The new beta is using a different library. I will check whether it is safe to re-enable periodic scanning.

Boo yah!  First block minted with my mini-rigs was the smack-down of a 73.1% CDF nuisance.

Those rigs kick ass! Smiley
