Should you find out who's behind it and submit proof I can possibly be able to return in kind, looks like I have a dosen or so wlans to abuse in addition to my own bandwith... and 7 computers to throw at it so an estimated 100-120Mb/s.
Not easy to find the identity of the attacker. The IRC and web post source (see below) is probably a hacked computer. Same with all the attacking computers. Message from attacker through the web contact form: Sent from IP: 109.123.96.23
SEND US 100 USD ON LIBETYRESERVE ACCOUNT U3892021
AND WE WILL STOP THE ATTACK.
IF YOU DONT PAY US WE WILL KEEP ATTACKING FOR ONE WEEK OR 2 LETTING YOUR BUSINESS DIED
Well, I will lose the 2 USD I could have made in those 2 weeks. The attackers will lose whatever a 2 week DDoS attack of this magnitude costs. I think that's more than 2 USD At least there's that.

Simple, forward that account details to libertyreserve including the ransom message Best case they shut the LR account down haha

Bit of a DDOS attack going on now... From IRC: 14:18 -!- DDOSATTACK [6d7b6017@gateway/web/freenode/ip.109.123.96.23] has joined #bitminter 14:19 -!- DDOSATTACK [6d7b6017@gateway/web/freenode/ip.109.123.96.23] has quit [Client Quit]
Started 7-8 minutes after that. About 90% packet loss to the server at the moment. Interesting that the address is a 64 IP subnet So you could certainly at least contact who owns it. (they may have a log of who IP accessed it?) I had some discussion with someone in IRC a while back where they were being annoying about my IP address. Not much later someone else (not the same person) sent a whole bunch of login attempts to one of my servers related to the discussion. I tracked down the IP address and actually worked out their mobile phone number here is Aus and sent them a warning about the illegality of what they did

Looks like that address is from http://www.uk2.net/ VPS hosting, so they should easily be able to determine the host it came from and contact the owner (if it was compromised) or shut it down.

If anyone is having problems running the BitMinter client after upgrading to the latest Java, try clearing Java's temporary internet files and starting it again. You find Java temporary internet files in the Java control panel. If using Windows you will find the Java control panel under the Windows control panel. On any OS you can also get to it with "javaws -viewer" on the command line.

Lazy sunday update. Fixed URLs for auto cash outs in transaction history that were not working. Also switched blockexplorer URLs over to blockchain.info. I think it's an easier to understand and better looking site.
We are now 9 days away from 1 year of public operation (since 26.06.2011) !

Today it is 1 year since BitMinter opened.
And look at the luck we're having today. We're celebrating with coins instead of cake!
PS: It's ok to also have some cake.

Three cheers for the best pool and pool op out there. Growth has been slower than I would have thought, but its steady and finally approaching speeds were you are not so likely to lose users due to variability, and your support for FPGAs (and perhaps asics later?) will surely push you further in the right direction. Congrats, your success is well deserved!

New beta version of BitMinter client is out. Please give it a try and report any problems: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=31163.msg1008906#msg1008906what's up with the insane unluck this past week? :S
Yeah, that was very bad luck. Sure would be nice with an equivalent run of good luck now.

And another orphan block, too. Call me superstitious but I think I'm going to take a break from this pool now.
