Hello,

I work for Kraken and will be helping to manage this thread (Dargo will confirm).  Thanks for connecting with us through bitcointalk.

I can just confirm what all the others here have already described.

It has become impossible to properly trade on Kraken. It takes dozens of tries to place and order or cancel one. One just sits infront of the screen and heplessly whatches the market chanching, unable to react. It's ridiculous. I even had one margin call that went through after it stated an error message. I only discovered hours later that now I apparently had an open position.

Hi JJ17,

We definitely are interested in continued improvement.  Recent announcements here provide an indicator of recent efforts with an eye to making the experience better for all who use Kraken:

1) Announcement: Delisting Pairs and Temporary Suspension of Advanced Order Types (August 21, 2017)
    https://blog.kraken.com/post/1234/announcement-delisting-pairs-and-temporary-suspension-of-advanced-order-types/

2) Announcement: Reducing Price Precision on all Trading Pairs (August 26, 2017)
    https://blog.kraken.com/post/1261/announcement-reducing-price-precision-on-all-trading-pairs/

3) Announcement: Reducing Price Precision (Round 2) (September 2, 2017)
    https://blog.kraken.com/post/1278/announcement-reducing-price-precision-round-2/

We continue to seek your input for how we can continue to improve. Thanks for letting us know of your experience.  We definitely want to be informed of how things are going, whether good or bad.

Hello kraken team,

Thanks for improving the trading engine, but please do not forget the API!
There are too many Cloudflare errors (timeout, bad gateway, etc.) and is very hard to keep track if API request went through or not.

Please implement these ideas:

1) API must never time out - even if trading engine in background is slow
2) API must always return result - if engine is overloaded, return "error:overloaded"
3) API must always return order txid - it is a nightmare if you don't know if order was received or not (which results in double buy/sell)

and finally (I know you don't like to read this but the current situation requires it)

4) close sign ups for new customers until the speed has significantly improved

Thanks!

I have a locked account and no help from support in days.  Another bitcointalk user suggested to post in the "official announcement thread", so here it is.  I have wasted days corresponding with Kraken and they haven't done a damn thing. As soon as I fulfilled their last, what seemed like final request for further information, they just disappeared.  Created ticket, escalated it, etc.  No results.

Hi z1926. Please escalate your ticket using this form posted by Dargo. Thanks for your patience.

As I already stated, I did that, it doesn't help.  It is hard not to come to the conclusion that Kraken is purposefully trying to make it take as long as possible to unlock customer accounts.  I am now being asked to just provide the same information I already provided and do the same things I've already done many times in the past.

I think at this point I have provided every single thing that was asked for twice and used the escalation form every time.  After all this jerking me around, I finally got the first quick response ever... but it says:

"Your account requires a specialist team to unlock."

No contact info for the specialist team.  No time line.  No recourse.  This is truly one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with.

I was already told in the past some bullshit about transferring my ticket to some other department.

This just drags on and on and on and on and on.

That's not the only thing that's impossible.  After experiencing all those same errors and problems I'm finding it's apparently also impossible to withdraw and change to a better exchange too.

Good luck, they do a great job of obscuring any working phone number for themselves.

Not looking for phone connections in particular. Most communication is VIA email or telegram/WhatsApp in the crypto-world from what I've noticed.

Confirmed: kraken-protocol works for Kraken. Remember that it is safe to share your ticket number or your public account ID (found under Settings in your account) and no Kraken representative should ever ask for more than this information on btctalk or any other social platform.

My problem was finally resolved.  Credit where credit is due I believe "Kraken-Septimus" resolved this along with whoever they were working with (if anyone).  It was done within a very short period of time after making contact with Karen-Septimus here.

I am still disturbed I couldn't just find out from the first contact (telephone or email) what is required and provide it up front, but still thank you very much to "Kraken-Septimus" [and their colleagues].

I'm still pissed off at the company but very appreciated of the individual employee(s) that actually fixed the problem.

Thank you.

trade.kraken.com does not correctly determine buy or sell trade.

http://i.imgur.com/9mQItXq.png

On the screen you can see that trade.kraken.com shows trade as a "sell" one, but in fact it was "buy" one - kraken.com view.

One more proof: this order was in "selling" order book, so it should be determined as a "buy"one.

@Dargo, can you fix this? : )

Deleted my earlier response - I will look into this because I think you may be right. It looks like "buy" and "sell" in Recent Trades is referring to the what the maker order was when it would probably make more sense for it to indicate what the taker order was.

Edit: taking 3 tries to understand your point. Tongue You are saying that Recent Trades is correctly showing it as a buy because it was from an order on the sell side getting hit (so buy order would have been taker). But trade.kraken seems to be doing the opposite (incorrect).
