I truly and honestly believe Kraken will resolve this in a friendly manner.

I've always used Kraken since the very start because of my firm belief in Jessie Powell was a truly competent and straight up guy. Their compliance practices when Bitcoin was laughed at, was impeccable.

The fact that they never intended on growing exponentially, but responsibly, was a major thing for me.
They were the first to partner with an Euro bank Fidor, and offer SEPA transfers.

My beliefs reassured when they were chosen as Mt Gox advisors and trustees.
All trademarks of a rock-solid team with great leadership.

I really hope they solve this in a friendly manner.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

 Dargo,

I have screenshots saved showing "The data is not currently available, try again later" during and after this event happened. Untampered, so time-stamped, showing I had no access to information once logged in. I also have CloudFlare screenshots. I can effectively show that I was logged in into the service during this event, but the service was not functioning as it should.

I'm more than happy to supply them. I also have the trade CSV saved, my entire hard drive cloned using Carbon Copy Cloner, my Chrome browsing history exported and saved, that will show the incredible number of login attempts during this entire episode.

I am willing to cooperate with Kraken in any way, shape or form to aid prove that I was completely powerless to close my positions and avoid this tremendous loss.

 Thank you.

Hi All,

First, I apologize on the behalf of the Kraken team to all our clients for the recent instability in the website and API. Things are much improved at the present time and so far as we know everyone should be able to access the site OK or trade through the API. As you are probably aware, it was caused by a massive influx of traffic related to the DAO incident, which you can read more about here:

https://blog.ethereum.org/2016/06/17/critical-update-re-dao-vulnerability/

I'm also sorry it's taken a while for me to post here about it. In incidents like this, we will generally be focused on posting updates to our status page (twitter too, but the main focus will be the status page). If you subscribe to the status page you can get the updates by email or SMS. You can see the updates we've posted so far for this incident below:

https://status.kraken.com/incidents/t4gc3kfd100m

https://status.kraken.com/incidents/0t1ttp21sgz5

Ideally I'd like to reply to all the posts and issues raised by this incident now, but unfortunately it will take me some time to get back to everyone. Thanks for your patience - I'll respond as soon as I can.

Hi, I've ran into an issue with depositing CAD with Vogogo Interac.
When I arrive the Interac deposit page, no option is visible. The previous are where you select the amount isn't visible, and even the continue button isn't visible. It's not my browser because I've tried 3+ browsers with 3+ devices.

Here is a picture of the problem: https://i.imgur.com/tDIJK1C.png
^As you can see from that picture, no form is visible. No submit button, no amount section, nothing.
I also haven't reached any type of limit, so it shouldn't be my account.

Sure Kraken seems to sometimes be unreliable, however I strongly believe everything will be ok. They always end up fixing their mistakes. That's why I continue to trust Kraken.

I do too. Still waiting for a reply from them.

I perfectly assume losses from wrong trading decisions, but it's a hard pill to swallow to have funds there and loose money when the website refuses work. In my case, I've sustained a massive 35 bitcoin loss while logged in, desperately trying to sell, for more than one hour, but the website simply was non-operational. What bugs me double time, is that trading still continued during all this time.

I'm confident they'll do good by their customers.

We are still looking into this, but it appears to have been some kind of network issue that affected other sites as well.

https://twitter.com/CaptSpectacular/status/744875641993052160

And it did not affect everyone since many clients were able to access the site without issue. I understand that it's frustrating no matter the cause, but so far it looks like there wasn't much we could do about this particular incident. But as I said we are still looking into it and I'll let you know if the assessment changes.

Are there problems with BTC deposits? My transaction got 6 confirmations about 70 minutes ago and is not credited, yet.
However, the deposit overview shows it as "confirming".

Thanks for replying, but that doesn't get you off the hook.

Why is your site non-responsive (nor via the app) when a crash or spike occurs? Poloniex seems to do just fine on those moments.
Don't you have extra capacity available when needed? It doesn't seem so, since it can take several hours for the problem to be "resolved" (read: when the crash or spike is over and everybody simply gives up).

Going to a different exchange which trades EUR < > XXX is a no-go, so that would mean EUR < > USD (boo!)

Bitfinex news following similar events to Kraken

 https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitfinex-market-freeze-bitcoin-crashing/

Quote
Regulators however have been quick to take punitive action with CFTC fining bitfinex $75,000, just days ago, “for offering illegal off-exchange financed retail commodity transactions and failing to register as a futures commission merchant.” Tackett stated that the latest outage had “[a]bsolutely nothing to do with the CFTC whatsoever. This had to do with a database migration we had been working through.”
