Whoa... what's going on here??? Anyone else seeing ads in their antminer interface? Seems I'm being server flash banners since today...  I hope that you know this is not from antminer, it comes from your browser? Lmao Glad I could brighten your day  and get rid of it, before it activates and takes control. That is a Trojan...On your machine. Once activated you will need combofix and support tools to clean it off. Thanks Freddy, already running, that's why I don't know how it got on here  |

Am not sure this will work ( i dont have my ant yet)
but my plan is ( it may help you )
I have an old router, that I shall set to 192.168.2.1 (or whatever)
connect my PC by dhcp and the ant to my old router.
Make the necessary changes in the ant for my normal network with a static IP ( all my gear has static IP's so i know where they are).
reconnect PC and Ant to my home network.
Hmm, I think I am missing something.. My ethernet cable runs from my pc to my router. I can't run any more ethernet cables to my pc as my pc only has 1 ethernet slot for the cable to fit in. The network cable from the antminer runs to the router. But for some reason I receive an error saying: Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to (the ip address of my miner) Try reloading: (the ip address of my miner) Any help at all would be very much appreciated  You need to connect the Ethernet cable to the miner first and go to: 192.168.1.99 (or whatever address is on your miner) and log in and set up your pool settings and all the other things mentioned in sushi's post you've mentioned. Then you can unplug the cable and plug it into the router for the miner to start mining. Note that if you are setting the IPV4 in windows for your pc Ethernet connection, you cannot set it to the same as the miner, so in windows you should have something like 192.168.1.2, it can't be the same as your miner. Also note that 192.168. 2.99 is the old address and it's now 192.168. 1.99, so your pc and router need to be 192.168. 1.[whatever] Sorry, I just re-read and realized that your problem is your router is connected to your pc via Ethernet... I'd suggest unplugging the router and plugging in the ant. You're going to have to change the IPV4 for your PC lan in windows to 192.168. 1.254 because that's what the antminer is on. You'll then be able to access the miner via your browser on 192.168. 1.99 so you can get into the gui as you'll have to change the ip of the miner to 192.168. 2.99 for it to match your network settings. You can set up your pool info etc. while you are there, then you can reboot it and plug it in to the router and it should start hashing. You can then change the ip of your pc back to 192.168. 2.254 and access the [edit]miner[/edit] through your browser again. Hope that helps  Am not sure this will work ( i dont have my ant yet)

My Telstra router has 3 ethernet ports Okay, so just plug one cable between your router and PC and another cable between your router and your Ant. Your Ant then needs to be set to the same IP subnet as your router and your PC, what is the IP address and subnet of your PC? I have plugged one cable from my Ant to my router, and another cable from my router to my PC.
Are you suggesting that i need to change the Miner configuration settings to match my computer IP address? I'm not sure what my Router IP address is, how can I check this?
TaDa...at least we know your problem is your network configuration and fixing it should be relatively easy. Do the above from the previous post 1st and tell me the response. |

Okay..this is getting a little bit confusing as you are not stating which IPV4 setting are for what. If you PC's IPV4 address is 192.168.0.2 Subnet 255.255.255.0 then your miner has have an address between 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.254 to make it work. To set the miners address do the following Change your PC's IP address to whatever you need to get to your miner's web page On the Network -> Interfaces -> WAN page set the following Protocol "Static address" IPv4 address 192.168.0.131 IPv4 netmask 255.255.255.0 IPv4 gateway 192.168.0.1 IPv4 broadcast 192.168.0.255 Use custom DNS servers 8.8.8.8 Then hit the "Save & Apply" button. The miner will save those changes and will seem to hang or timeout whilst it is making those changes, this what is meant to happen because it has changed the connection parameters and you can no longer connect to it. Now change you PC IP address back to its previous setting so you can get to the internet correctly. Power off your Antminer wait 10 seconds then power it back on again and see if you can contact it at http://192.168.0.131 |

Ok, firstly you are entering you miner config info incorrectly: you don't enter your ip in there, you need to enter the mining address of bitminter (no time to look it up) Secondly: it looks like your PC and router network is on: 192.168. 2.254, so you are going to have to change the IPV4 of your PC ip to 192.168. 1.254 in order to access your miner. When you do this you'll lose connection to your router, but plug the ant straight into your pc via lan cable. Now open the browser and access you miner on 192.168. 1.99 and change the ip of the miner to 192.168.2.99, save and reboot and plug it into the router. Now go back to your PC and change the IPV4 back to 192.168.2.254 and ou should be able to access internet again and you'll be able to access your miner on 192.168. 2.254 Note: the number I have bolded has to be the same on the miner and the router network or the miner cannot access the internet. Good luck! P.S. another quicker way to go about it would be to leave your PC IPV4 on "obtain ip automatically" and change the network your router uses and assigns so use 192.168. 1.[0-254] and then everything ill work automatically with the default ant settings. |

I thought I'd be nice with my guess of which it was. Yes it is blatantly common for home users to screw up their computers visiting porn web sites. One of the reasons why I ignore people asking me to fix their computers - is that about 50% of the time the problem is exactly: porn related. |

I'm trying to use my BitMinter java client that I've downloaded to my PC, but for some reason the Java client doesn't recognise my miner: This is the following information that I have completed under Miner Configuration: Pool 1: tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 Pool 1 worker: my bitminter username Pool1 password: my bitminter password What else would I need to do in order to have my BitMinter Java client recognise my Ant Miner? I've followed the above instructions, and I can now access the internet while also accessing the IP of my miner. Do I need to check for anything else? Forget the Bitminter Java client on your PC, an Antminer connects directly to the pool, your PC could be on or off as far as an Antminer is concerned. PS: You would only use something like Bitminter Java client if you had a miner physically plugged into your PC such a certain USB miners. |

If you want to start mining at eligius use then use the pool1 info I put in my post and one of your own wallet addresses, eligius then uses that as your username and makes any payment to that address. |
