4,308,900,000 DVC in total Sure, but 335,107,623,248.14274990 owed by debtors ... They can buy up cheap coins at Vircurex a long long long time and still not make much dent in that debtload! -MarkM-

This talk of martians and debtors is confusing me lol.

The typical bitcoin markets really mess up the idea of using a "unit of account" because they make the purported exchange rates be kind of mythical. That vis, you might look up on MtGox the exchange rate of bitcoins as, say $100 per bitcoin, but the way that market operates you cannot really very well conclude from that that the price of a thousand one-hundred-million-dollar mansions would be one billion bitcoins. But, that is exactly the kind of thing you have to be able to do with a "unit of account". So basically what happens in practice is someone ships close to five million units of Deuterium to a General Mining Corp depot, the amount of GMC currency their shipment is worth is looked up on the tables for that moment in time at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html and then if their debt is not a debt to GMC and denominated in GMC those same tables are used to convert the GMC they earned for the shipment into whatever currency their debt is denominated, and GMC settles up, usually in some national currency or in GMC currency or even in GRF currency, with the creditor on behalf of the miner. This would get royally mucked up though if for example GFC did suddenly start demanding actual DeVCoins instead of the equivalent value in any generally acceptable currency... But, that would kind of be a step backwards from being an actual currency useable as a unit of account, and being just some weird limited-edition commodity... -MarkM-

Assets on the Digitalis Open Transactions server. Also pretty much anything in various games that players are willing to sell. -MarkM-

So there is no like silk road type application for Devcoin? Not yet..... Well, once Devcoin serves its purpose, and helps me (a STRUGGLING writer) get paid for what I do, I am going to use that money to make it where when you search "What can you buy for Devcoins?" MY website comes up, unless someone else beats me to it, then mine will come up SECOND! If anyone would like to help me start this sooner than the next payment period, please donate some DVC: 1mZW6zRuz5wRrCijYgEnJWcncBiqRyFPN It will go to turning the websites FinShaggy.com and HomeGrownSouth.com into a DVC user haven. We are WAY to broke to develop our sites, but they are meant to be a site to aid the world and a site for forum discussion.

After the 4/20 Rally (early May), I'm going to promote DevCoins like a MOTHERFUCKER. I'm gonna tell people "it costs less than a penny to support independent artists around the world." and link them to Vircurex and tell them to buy 1 or 2 DVC, since they only cost .0009 USD So 1 penny buys you 10 devcoins and gives money to an artist.
Then I'm going to try to make my own site as I said previously. If I can get a few million DVC (from my writing on devtome) I'll make a forum where you get paid DVC once a month or once every 2 months based on your post count. Then make a store where they can use the DVC to buy stuff, and also let outsiders buy stuff. And exchange for BTC and USD.
I REALLY think DVC can help EVERYONE and I really want to help it.

And what is the value of a DevCoin
current value of writing this from vircurex 1 Devcoin = 0.00000124 BTC 806,450 Devcoins = 1btc 1btc = $125 1Devcoin = 0.0155 cents each block mined rewards 5,000 devcoin to the miners and 45,000 goes to the share rewards so each devcoin block worth about $7 How do writers earn money? I don't want to mine, and I already posted a few articles on devtome. The process is explained in detail here: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writingRead it carefully and the process will be revealed to you! Otherwise feel free to PM me if you are still confused. Hope this helps Those pages may make sense to you, but none of this stuff makes sense to me. I need it to say: "Get wallet here", "post wallet here", "Earnings come here". But it's ok I got help from someone. I will write up a simple step by step guide at some point today as a few have been asking this and Unthinkingbit gave me all the instructions I needed so the least i could do is share the information, am at work at the moment so not easy to do, but may get chance in lunchbreak!! THANK YOU. That should help everyone. Ok little later than expected, but made a step by step guideline for getting setup as a writer to earn devcoins. http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=how_to_get_setup_earning_devcoins_by_writingany problems please let me know so I can update the guide.
