.... by reversing the cards so the heatsinks are pointed outwards.  They are running 4 to 5 degrees cooler in this configuration, as well.
what is your ambient temperature. I have a dead ant here (still waiting for the RMA'd controller: Bitmain!)so in the interest of experimentation, I added it's fan to my hottest unit and it is now running 8 to 10 degrees cooler than the ones beside it!

What can i  do...
Pour yourself a drink, sit back and relax, secure in the knowledge that you have just successfully ordered 2 miners, from the best players in an otherwise, shark-infested marketplace.

Well Done!

Well this is my 3th order, and this is the first time the order went wrong. :-(
Check the Txid on Blockr.io, I know Bitmain have been having problems with their payment api,
I have seen in other threads, that some people have been getting their ants even though their order shows as unpaid, unshipped, expired. I am kinda confident that they have the situation under control. Check the transaction  Wink

*Edit
I recived My order today, status is unpaid om bitmain siste.
My order from the 19th also arrive here today.
Did the site tell you the order had expired as well?
at first yes, but yesterday it changed to paid.

Bitmain uses the Blockchain API and with the recent site outage at Blockchain it seems Bitmain has struggled to get their payment window caught back up. You may need to send them an e-mail after 24 hrs to get your viewable account status updated. But several people have reported finding confirmations on the chain transaction and receiving their miner even though the account status at Bitmain had showed it timed out and unfunded.

I can't connect to my Antminer S1. I'm hooked up to my 630W Rosewill power supply and everything seems to be powered up correctly (fans and lights are on). I turned off my wifi connection and configured my IP address like the tutorials told me to. When I enter the Antminer's IP address (192.168.1.99) I just get a webpage unavailable page. I've tried my Linux machine and a different Windows PC and they all get the same error. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for the help!

Which fan do you recommend for a more quiet operation?

In half a year I don't think the S1 will be profitable anymore, but at least it can be used for heating. E.g. for every Euro spent on electricity (heating) I will get back something like 80 cents worth of Bitcoins. The idea is to replace the current fan with a more silent one, and probably adding a silent exhaust fan as well. It may also be underclocked to freq=250 or 300.

Hi,

is it possible to underclock the antminer s1?

I would like to reduce the heat (and therefore the noise!).

Let's say I would like to underclock it from the standard 180 Gh/s to ~150 Gh/s. How much noise would I have to expect? And does it also have a significant reduction of power consumption?

Thanks

Your antminer and PC are on 2 different networks (192.168.1.99 vs 169.254.225.39)
Go into your network adapter properties, IPV4 settings, and set IP to 192.168.1.90, subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and you should be able to navigate your browser to 192.168.1.99 and login to your antminer

Yes you can, and there are settings already in the /etc/config/asic-freq file.  Just comment out (add # in front of) the 3 lines that are currently loading for 350M, and remove the # from the lines for 300M, or 250M to underclock.  Save the file, and reboot the Antminer.

It will lower the temperature, fan speed, watts, etc.  For me it's around 25watts per 25M I lower it.  Setting it to 250M makes my fan run at <2000RPM which is much quieter.

Have you tried resetting it?  There should be a tiny black button on the controller card (the card you plug the network cable into).  That should reset to factory default.  That reset my antminer's IP after I set the internal WAN IP of my antminer to the same as it's LAN IP, and locked myself out.

I tried that already with no luck.  Sad

Have you tried resetting it?  There should be a tiny black button on the controller card (the card you plug the network cable into).  That should reset to factory default.  That reset my antminer's IP after I set the internal WAN IP of my antminer to the same as it's LAN IP, and locked myself out.

I will try that! I'll update ASAP. Thanks!

Is there any difference between different hex values for the same frequency?

freq_value '0780' = 400MHz
freq_value '4f81' = 400MHz
freq_value '5f85' = 400MHz

Is there a difference that would make one of these more preferable?

While testing my antminer OC, I worked out some numbers for various overclocking frequencies.  Here is what I have now in my /etc/config/asic-freq file:

        #option 'freq_value'    '4f81'  #205GHs (16x)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '400'
        #option 'timeout'       '35'

        #option 'freq_value'    '5f05'  #202GHs (15.75x)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '393.75'
        #option 'timeout'       '36'

        #option 'freq_value'    '5e85'  #198GHs (15.5x)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '387.5'
        #option 'timeout'       '37'

        option 'freq_value'    '5e05'  #195GHs (15.25x)
        option 'chip_freq'     '381.25'
        option 'timeout'       '37'

        #option 'freq_value'    '4e81'  #192GHs (15x)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '375'
        #option 'timeout'       '38'

        #option 'freq_value'    '5d05'  #188GHs (14.75x)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '368.75'
        #option 'timeout'       '38'

        #option 'freq_value'    '5c85'  #185GHs (14.5x)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '362.5'
        #option 'timeout'       '39'

        #option 'freq_value'    '5c05'  #182GHs (14.25x)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '356.25'
        #option 'timeout'       '39'

        #option 'freq_value'    '4d81'  #180GHs (14x) (default)
        #option 'chip_freq'     '350'
        #option 'timeout'       '40'

Mine seems to work best with 4e81 (375MHz, 192GHs, 0% error) or 5e05 (381.25MHz, 195GHs, 0.15% error)
Anything above 387MHz (5e85), gives me 5%+ error rate.  I suppose I can live with 195GHs.  I should also note that I am only using the stock fan, no extra cooling, reading 47/44C @2280Hz.

I have 0 HW errors with 0700, 4e81 or 5d85.  These should all be 375MHz.  Is one of these a more preferred value to use?
