Whitepaper has become a necessity for all projects. Because it gives a clear depiction of the roadmap, strategies, the platform or product/prototype of the project and other relevant information. All of the informatiom provided in the whitepaper gives a guide to whether the project is real or fake.
So whitepapers are useful indicators in identifying scam projects.

An ICO promoting a bounty, airdrop or whatever without a whitepaper is probably a scam or a really badly made project, ask them for it, or search for them on other sites.

Ico with/o whitepaper is totally scam most of that project is a pump and dump project or if they raise million of money they will run. So do not try to invest your money specially if the team are anonymous. Be careful always choosing coin specially if the project has no direction and just want to raise funds.

in an ico without whitepaper, i would be careful. in the present time, every good ico has a whitepaper. therefore, i can not imagine that a ico without whitepaper is really serious.

Having an ICO without a whitepaper is somewhat suspicious. Whitepaper is the face of the ICO, it introduces the campaign, the project and the content of an ICO to the investors. So an ICO without whitepaper should not be trusted.

I think personally, such a project will have no future plans, and most of that Ico is a scammy thing. the whitepaper is important in any project to introduce to the community as it helps someone who is planning to investor wants to join their team. so Without these textbooks, we will not be able to understand the course and the same applies to projects that try to run ICO without whitepaper.

Generally ICO without whitepaper is a scam, but some are not. If the usual manager opens ICO in this forum and can always be trusted then it could be ICO is not a scam. But if the manager rarely opens the ICO you should think first when you want to register.

We can't judge all the ICO without whitepaper should be scam or fake project. But in my opinion, i can be doubt with ICO without whitepaper. For me, if i want participate and invest with ICO i must know about the project and read its whitepaper can help me to know about the project. Whitepaper is one of the best thing that we need to help us learn and build trust from the project. I won't participate and invest the project without whitepaper because the project looks like not ready about their target.

I've only come across one project that didn't have a whitepaper and the whole ico website looked like it was done by a 6th grader.
Scams will at least copy and paste (plagiarize) another projects whitepaper to give the illusion that they are real.

The #1 rule for bounty hunting is to only do a bounty that you would invest real money into.
Would you ever invest in something that doesn't even have a whitepaper?

The reason that you hear so many stories of people getting scammed in bounties is because a lot of these bounty hunters join multiple programs at once.
With so many things to manage they don't take the time to vet the bounty program and end up picking some that suck.

While I cant say that all ICO without whitepaper is scam, I also cant say they are legit. Only very few survive without whitepaper, but it's a red flag on many occasions.

Yes, what is important is the authenticity of the project. The white paper alone can not be fully understood. It is necessary to assess the maneuverability of the project in all aspects.
