I really don't see how this can happen with the cases increasing in India daily while in Australia the cases remain under control for now. It will be sad if we have to wait this long just to see the T20 world cup but as I said before in here, it all comes down to money and power and the BCCI seem to have both.
What does money power to do in a situation like this, since the T20 world cup is hosted by Australia and the situation there is better and hence there would not be any resistance in going with the series. If they wanted to conduct the IPL then there is no way they can conduct with the situation is not favorable and money power cannot do everything during a pandemic.

Its always about the money my friend no matter what, that is why the world is starting to open up even though the cases are still very high daily because they need to get the economy going again and the same is for sports. We shall see what happens in the coming weeks but I do hope that the T20 world cup goes ahead as planned and not postponed for a year.

Countries are losing their economic growth because the virus very quickly, even the government is taking all possible steps to control the virus, but it's affecting the GDP. In the coming, they will take all measures and suggest their people follow some specific rules for controlling the virus. So this year we might see the T20 world cup by that time government will control the virus.

Yeah the virus is taking its toll on the world economy however opening up now seems to be a bad decision as the cases are growing out of control now even worse now then when it started. Australia is starting to open up just when the winter season is starting so I don't know how this will go and if there is a second wave here then we could say goodbye to the T20 world cup being played this year.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

^^ Judging from their schedule, i doubt if they want to host T-20 World Cup at all. It seems to me that T-20 WC is not lucrative in eyes of Cricket Australia, if we consider Empty stands and Risk of pandemic. I would be very happy if i am proven wrong, ICC meeting is due on 10th of June so let's see.

^ I tried to watch BBL couple of times but got bored quickly due to absence of premier players from the Oz squad, No Starc, no Warner, no Smith, no Patty and on some occasion no Maxi... nah sorry BBL.

Not unexpected. BBL salaries are very low, and I am not even comparing them with the IPL. Even CPL and PSL pay much better salaries when compared to the BBL. As far as I know, the highest salary in BBL is $210,000. The salary cap per team (i.e for all the 16 players) is just $1.6 million. On top of that, around 45% of whatever earned by the top players in BBL is deducted as tax by the Australian authorities. So is it even surprising that the star players are skipping the tournament?

Also, there was an infamous incident last year, when Sandeep Lamichhane left the BBL to play BPL in Bangladesh. Because his salary with Sylhet Sixers was much higher than what he was earning with the Melbourne Stars.

It would be good start if they conduct BPL when their premium players not playing any important series. Why would anyone watch BBL (except locals) when their own players playing in the high profile series at the same time (For ex : Australia VS India)

Fair enough, I like it because it's on during the Xmas period when there is absolutely nothing else on tv. As long as you treat it for what it is haha.

Umm Boxing Day Test Match for starters...  Grin and Australia has a history of playing international cricket simultaneously. Already gave one example (Aus vs Ind series) in my previous reply, anyways, can understand your point of view.

Well right now we would think it would be the T20 world cup with how the virus cases are low and continue to remain low in Australia compared to India where the cases are getting out of control with the daily cases rising. I was thinking that if the situation changes in Australia that maybe New Zealand could be the perfect place to host the T20 world cup as they are doing a great job at maintaining the virus cases.

NZ can only be safe place for T20 world cup if only the T20 WC is played between Australia and NewZealand. Since players and people all around the world will come to NZ/Aus to play the world cup, this will make it vulnerable to pandemic.

But I don't think we are going to New Zealand for twently/20 world as Australia is also doing hard work for this all and they will ready on time as now things are doing good for them and they have some good results just be positive for this all and wait for next call from officials.

We will need to check how does the virus react in winter and does it have any significance in increasing the cases further. If that is the case again then the cases would rise further manifolds time, and this would not be the ideal unless by that time vaccine is in place and started to reduce the cases significantly. As time passes without anything on vaccine things will start looking bleak.
I guess you don't know about the weather impact on COVID-19. It has already been established sometime back that Corona thrives in cold conditions while hot conditions tend to eliminate it pretty quickly.

This is probably why Africa has a negligible amount of cases so far. Coming to the vaccine, the earliest they could be available is in 2021 and it would reach the masses probably by the end of 2021.

We will have to continue fighting this virus probably for another year from now.

It is not possible in India to follow the rules because of the population density in urban areas. The worst part is the government again resorting to propoganda and are not accepting the issue. They are still doing what they are known earlier talking about China or Pakistan.

People are dying in rural areas because of this virus and no one is seen or discussing this grave issue, have you seen or heared any media channels informing the same.

By the way celebrities in India are talking about black lives  where in no one talks about brown lives.

^^ Bhai, Indian subcontinent is kinda hot area too and Covid-19 cases are not declining in India, Pakistan,Bangladesh, Nepal. Island nation Srilanka doing well but majority of island nation are doing okay except UK of course.
Cases are rising very quickly because we are not obeying rules for this and social distance is also just joke for millions even peoples watching many peoples effected and have serious trouble but still they are not doing as its need just because of this we are facing some serious trouble even we are in very hot weather.

It is not possible India to follow the rules because of the population density in urban areas. The worst part is the government again resorting to propoganda and marketing their achievements.

People are dying in rural areas because of this virus and have you seen or hear any media channels informing the same. By the way celebrities in India are talking about black live matter where as brown live never matter.
This is not alone Indian problem its all poor countries problem as common peoples and Dogs equal for them and celebrities and VIP have good and luxury things with media highlights for them and marketing for Governments  we are also living worst life but who care media is doing this all just for own sack.

India is not poor it is these f##ki## North Indians that have made it poor and unsuccessful. What part of the North is known by the world? For food things And what part of South is known? For the bad things.

Check out the south India graph, except Tamilnadu every state is performing good. Let's check the east and then the west, nothing wrong their but,  it was always North and it is still North.

True, but it isn't as hot as Africa where the temperature gets extremely high at present. Check this article.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/05/21/opinion/coronavirus-warm-weather-summer-infections.html

This article proves that warm weather does help weaken the virus, but there is no point if people don't follow social distancing properly.

In the USA, many people are rioting currently because of the Floyd issue without following social distancing and this will drive their cases up substantially. In India, the migrant crisis and community transmission is driving the cases up drastically everyday.

There will be at least one major event this year. Either the IPL, or the T20 World Cup. Else many of the cricket boards will go bankrupt. So my guess is that the ICC will try its best to conduct the World Cup. Even if the Australian government demand 2 weeks of mandatory quarantine, I guess the cricket boards will agree to that. As a last resort, ICC may move the tournament to some other country in case they don't get the permission from the Australian government.

What call you are taking about from the cricket officials ? I think they have already postponed the T20 World cup to 2022 and there is no chance that it can be arranged before that time.

No decision yet on World cup, they will take decision on next meeting. There is still chances we will have world cup. Otherwise this world cup will never happen because of tight schedule.

Even if there is a second or third wave many government around the world are going liberal about the situation as they cannot shut everything down for a very long time and when you take a close look at the situation in India the situation is getting worse but the government is liberating everything and people are flocking in the streets and there is no other choice for the government rather than opening up everything and the situation is same everywhere as they fear about the next election and if that is the situation what is the point in delaying sport when the rest are opening up.

The worst is about to come, the US is on a different route and things are getting worse in India and US.

Well I think at this point the Governments might as well just open everything up as it seems a lot of people don't care and not listening now. I just hope that the situation in Australia remains the same with the virus as the T20 world cup could still go ahead if there isn't a second wave in Australia and New Zealand. The only problem then is other teams coming over to Australia and New Zealand as I would suspect they would under go tough screening for the virus so its safe for all players and teams involved. I'll be interested to see what the ICC decide in their next meeting.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

It depends upon how the Australian government wants to view the situation and allow sporting events to continue. The rest of the countries who are planning to participate should take steps to test the players and how well the Australian government will view these is another complex situation. The ICC can take a decision only if the government is open for the tournament.
