Why are we still discussing IPL being conducted outside India? Is there any proof that supports this topic or it is just a speculation as I have not seen any information regarding it.

As of now 3 countries offered to host IPL. UAE, Sri Lanka and recently New Zealand (not official), first 2 already submitted their proposal to BCCI and NZ might join soon.

Yeah, I did notice it. it is the 8th edition of CPL. 6 team will be playing in this year. if everything will be normal then CPL 2020 will be held 19th august. the details fixture hasn’t announced yet. I'm very hopeful about this tournament. A big tournament will be going to announce.
what do you think about this tournament? Is this tournament will start at the fixed time during this epidemic?

The Caribbean countries are not much affected by the pandemic and therefore I am sure that the tournament will go ahead as planned. But at the same time, I am not sure about the participation of the overseas players, especially those from South Asia. One added complexity for CPL is that the competition doesn't take place in a single country. Rather, it stretches across half a dozen different nations.

UAE might win the proposal as they can provide the best facilities for the players as i have seen with other events that is taking place especially the UFC that is taking place this week and the facility they can provide is high class not sure about Sri Lanka and how the government will be able to handle but the New Zealand situation you explained earlier about the difficulties in the timings of the match.

Oh!

Thanks for the update @JSRAW, I might have missed this out. I was in the assumption that IPL will get postponed till things get normal in India. I never thought other countries will offer BCCi to hold the tournament.

No problem, UAE and Sri lanka's proposal are confirmed but NZ offer seems rumor/speculation according to new report.

Some news for you guys..

- NZ joins the rank and offered to host this year IPL in New Zealand after UAE and Srilanka, UAE is first choice, SL is cost effective and NZ is almost Covid free (but time-zone difference)

Hosting franchise leagues in Australia/New Zealand is very complex, because normally they don't offer tax holiday. And the tax burden is considered as one of the foremost disadvantages of BBL in Australia. South Africa hosted the tournament in 2009, and they made the event tax-free. If this year's IPL is played in UAE, then we can expect it to be tax-free. But things get complicated, when we talk about hosting the events in countries such as New Zealand.

such an unprofessional work from BCCI.  I think they should be more careful before they publish any news. if New-Zeland host this IPL, I think it will be good.  because the prevalence of coronavirus has decreased in New-Zeland. on the other hand, it is increasing day by day in India. so, it is a difficult work for BCCI that organizing IPL in India.

Some things are not just clear, how can there be so much gap between the BCCI and NZ spokesperson statements where one said that NZ has offered to host IPL and NZ spokesperson straight away denied it. Also, some of the IPL franchise have started to lose the hope of having IPL in 2020 due to current situations.

Yes, how is this possible?
BCCI claims NZ board offered it and NZ board straight away denies it so, what is cooking between these boards? You will never know it.

By November this year, India will be at the top of the COVID19 list. Every day there is a new record on the number of patients getting infected by this virus. It will be next to impossible for BCCI to conduct IPL in such condition in India.

The best i can think of is that some one from the BCCI planted this news for fun/purposely or just to feed media outlets so that they can keep up the speculation debate alive, it happens time to time for setting a narrative.

There can be another possibility. The New Zealand government may have made the offer to the BCCI, without the knowledge of NZC. Similar incident already happened a few days back in Australia, when the government made statement regarding the T20 World Cup without the knowledge of the Australian board. If that was the case, then I would rather blame the official from the NZC.

@Vishnu.Reang you have brought up an interesting theory, but until BCCI confirms your theory people will continue to blame them for spreading misinformation about the IPL. @swordsoffreedom IPL is definitely going to take place because BCCI doesn’t wishes to lose out on the revenue that IPL generates, and secondly the possible location for IPL is UAE which should be confirmed shortly.

Well.. I understand that the BCCI is desperate to hold the IPL sometime in the next couple of months. But with the situation getting worse with every passing day, I can't foresee how they are going to do it. The situation in India is becoming more horrendous with the passage of time. Even the most remote areas are getting infected and people are dying like flies in cities such as Mumbai. And from what I have heard, the situation in UAE is even worse. Sri Lanka is a good choice, if NZ is overlooked. Apart from these venues, I don't think that the IPL can be played anywhere in the globe for the next 6 months.

17th July coming Friday could be the day when mostly we would come to know about the future of IPL for 2020 to be held or it will be cancelled for this year. BCCI has a teleconference on this day and one of the agenda for this meeting is to decide the future course of action of IPL 2020. So possibly the suspense will be soon over, and we will finally know about it.

Well... I think that they will just say that they'll postpone the decision to the next meeting, as they have been doing till now. I don't think that they can take a solid decision now. Situation in India is getting worse by the day, and they haven't finalized negotiating with any of the other boards (especially those in the UAE, Sri Lanka or New Zealand). So unless they are going to cancel this year's edition, I don't see a solid announcement on 17th.

The ICC never detailed about the World Cup and now the BCCI will take a decision on the IPL, either way i would like to see some matches, West Indies and England was a surprising start and hopefully the rest of the series resumes as well and if the BCCI is going with the IPL then the rest of the series will be resumed after that and there will not be any excuse further from resuming cricket.

Most chances we are going to have this announcement as right now they cannot give any commited announcement about this event so we all have to wait some more as UAE which is hot topic for IPL is also in not position Corona is creating serious problems for them as well hopefully BCCI will give detailed announcement in August and then we will able to have correct time table about this all.

There are reports coming out that the BCCI is planning to fly out their contracted players for a 6 week training camp and it will become official in the upcoming BCCI meeting on 17th and with that move we might even see the IPL being played in the UAE if they get the permission from the ICC.

Looks like the ICC will make the decision on moving the World Cup pretty soon, with BCCI making their decision this week and ACB announcing their BBL season it looks like the franchise cricket will resume first.

Sounds good news to me.. is it only national contracted players or its includes IPL's players too (Domestic)?

ICC doesn't have any say in BBL, IPL or any domestic league so their permission is just formality imo.
