^ Let's just move on about the fighter payments because we can not do something about it Dana White is controlling it and if he wants to just give this small amount to his fighter then that is what is going to do because he owns UFC,

My Early Picks for the UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Strickland, Highlighted in gree are my picks

Jack Hermansson VS Sean Strickland

Sean Strickland has a good record than Hermansson, Strickland only lose to Santiago Ponzinibbio, Kamaru Usman, and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos but even though he lost to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos he won 5 consecutive wins but for me, Jack Hermansson has a game with his ground submission that may be caught Strickland by surprise but I think that Sean Strickland has a solid game with his striking, and Jack Hermansson is easily get pressured by those striking and he can have a great defensive takedown Stake odds 2.75 for Hermansson and 1.44 for Strickland, I am still not sure if Jack Hermansson can make a takedown because he can easily be pressured by his opponent striking so I think Sean Strickland can win this,

Shavkat Rakhmonov VS Carlston harris

In this fight, I really like how he handles Michel Prazeres, and with his debut fight in the UFC against Alex Oliveira I think the reach advantage with good striking will definitely shock Carlston Harris, and this 26-year-old Rakhmonov really has the future in the UFC, and that style bending performance against Michel Prazeres has blown me away, that is why I really want to see him again do it and winning against Carlston Harris, that is why I will do with Shavkat Rakhmonov, Stake Odds 1.40 for Rakhmonov and 2.90 for Harris.

There are more talks about return of Jon Jones and if Francis Ngannou will be his next opponent, but Ngannou is not so confident and he said how Jones is much better twitter battle than in octagon Smiley
In case this fight turns to be first Jones fight after big break I would bet all money on Ngannou to win.
Extra question mark is bad relation of Ngannou and Dana White, and his future in UFC is uncertain, maybe someone else will snatch him and pay more.

Not sure I'm going to be that confident if this fight does end up happening, however you can bet all your money that I'll be cheering on Ngannou to knock out Jones. It isn't a secret that I don't like Jones, I think Jones has created a reputation for himself outside of MMA, and that's taken away from his achievements that hes got in the cage. A shame because he's one of the best MMA fighters to have entered the UFC, dominated for a period, but looked a little shaky towards the end of his career.

I think Ngannou has the weight advantage to wrestle, and the power advantage. Would be a very tricky fight for Jones despite his ability.

Ngannou did some homework to hype the match already even before the talks. I think the match will likely going to happen, keep provoking Jones and Dana I think they will respond to organize it. Whoever will snatch Ngannou, I think will benefit but paying more is unlikely. No other promotion is actaully better than UFC. It should be boxing for him.

Hermansson is way more powerful than Strickland whichever it may be. From ground to boxing, he'll face it. Remember that its often the underdog that wins.  Grin

Jon Jones certainly made a reputation outside of UFC. Well, even inside UFC he has a bad reputation. After all, he is the gram for gram fighter  Cool.

But if I am being serious he is one of the best fighters that has ever fought in the UFC. If he comes back now and fights I don't think that he will be the same as he was before. It's going to be fun. They are already throwing punches online.  Cheesy I read an article from ESPN on January 24.
Quote
"Right now, I'm on a perfect training routine, don't wanna disturb it for anything," Jones told ESPN's Brett Okamoto in a text message a few days out from UFC 270. "No need to flatter these big boys, excited to get the job done when it's time."
Quote
"At the end of the day, I'm f---ing them both up," Jones tweeted and later deleted.
https://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/33134305/will-jon-jones-next-challenger-ufc-heavyweight-championship-be-francis-ngannou
Twitter fight is a free campaigning platform to boost the number of bettors and PPV but it should reflect in the Octagon. Ngannou is strong and versatile but so does Jones, I think speed will help a lot to gain superiority. Jones is in good condition as he said and it will just be a matter of time before they face each other.

We cannot be quite certain if Jack Hermansson is more powerful or better than Sean Strickland, however, I agree that this might be another storyline in the UFC where someone with more experience is being underestimated again. We have witnessed this in the fights of Ngannou versus Gane, Kattar versus Chikadze and Lewis versus Daukas, Aldo versus Font, Teixeira versus Błachowicz and many others to mention hehehehe. I am for Jack Hermansson with high odds.

Francis has a couple of advantages just of the top of my head. Firstly, he is accustomed to fighting at that weight. Whatever time Jon takes to gradually put up the weight and to accustom himself to it through training camp, it can't compare to actually fighting at that weight, especially in 5 rounders. The second is continuity. Sure, Dom Cruz said ring rust doesn't exist, but still, Francis has had more continuity over the past couple of years than Jon, and that could also play a factor. And thirdly, I just think Francis has a lot more to prove and a bigger chip on his shoulder right now than Jon, and that could drive him forward.

Anyone still believes we will see Jon Jones in octagon? Or see him against Ngannou? Jon Jones has been inactive for 2 years. Usually fighters that come from such a pause lose. If Jones returns and losses in his first fight in heavyweight, would people be still interested in him? Specially with his  behavior.

I am more interested in confirmed fight between Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje in May. I think he will win in the same way Khabib won Gaethje - triangle.

^ Let's just move on about the fighter payments because we can not do something about it Dana White is controlling it and if he wants to just give this small amount to his fighter then that is what is going to do because he owns UFC,

I think it's still worthy of discussion because it's seriously keeping both the sports of UFC and boxing back. We're going to lose great MMA fighters and be deprived of exciting cross-over events like Tyson/Ngannou. We also won't get new fighters signing with the UFC knowing that they're going to be stiffed. I know Dana is running a business and needs to make money but I think we can all agree fighters should be getting paid more. I don't think fighters should get greedy or too big-headed either but they should be paid what they deserve and Francis Ngannou should not be getting paid anything less than 1 million a fight right now. Dialogue about pay is good because it puts pressure on the UFC to make things right. Even that recent Jake Paul diss track is getting a lot of media attention and shining a spotlight on the restrictive UFC contracts so this sort of pressure is good because it'll likely lead to the UFC doing something about it to counter negative press. The UFC counts fighters as 'independent contractors' but they're really not. If they were then they could do what they want. They also have to wear all the UFC branded gear with the UFC sponsors on and normally all that sponsorship money would go to the fighters so that's another way they're getting stiffed out of money.

In case this fight turns to be first Jones fight after big break I would bet all money on Ngannou to win.
Not sure I'm going to be that confident if this fight does end up happening, however you can bet all your money that I'll be cheering on Ngannou to knock out Jones. The only thing making me think that he will return is surely he's going to need some money at some point? Fighters usually need to fight to pay the bills and I can't imagine he's got many if any sponsors right now so what is he living on right now? The thing that gets me is is that Jones doesn't actually seem like a bad guy. Seems quite nice really but always gets himself into trouble. He just needs to come back and make a name for himself again and put his past behind him. Ngannou hasn't got many options left really for worthy opponents so I'd love to see this fight happen. It'll surely be a huge draw for the UFC and at least Dana is actively trying to make it happen but I'm sure it'll all come down to money and both fighters are going to be wanting big bucks for this.

Francis has a couple of advantages just of the top of my head. Firstly, he is accustomed to fighting at that weight. Whatever time Jon takes to gradually put up the weight and to accustom himself to it through training camp, it can't compare to actually fighting at that weight, especially in 5 rounders. And thirdly, I just think Francis has a lot more to prove and a bigger chip on his shoulder right now than Jon, and that could drive him forward.

Jones is probably more athletic and could have better cardio than Francis. We saw how tired he got in the late rounds with Gane so anything can happen. It would be an interesting fight but I'd hope for a spectacular Francis KO.

If Dana offered him the big bucks he'd probably fight tomorrow. I think he demanded 30 million to fight Francis if the articles can be believed: https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mma/jon-jones-makes-huge-purse-23969454

Realistically for that sort of fight he's going to want a few million. Give them that and a decent cut of PPV sales so it gives them encouragement to sell the fight. Like I said before, if Brock Lesner can get 2.5 million then these two should be getting the same if not more. That's gotta be a far bigger PPV draw that Lesner. Who cares about a wrestler vs two of the all time greats?

It isn't a secret that I don't like Jones, I think Jones has created a reputation for himself outside of MMA, and that's taken away from his achievements that hes got in the cage. A shame because he's one of the best MMA fighters to have entered the UFC, dominated for a period, but looked a little shaky towards the end of his career.
Jon Jones would be perfect evil character for Cobra Kai series, I think he was arrested several times for beating females, violence, drinking while driving, and who knows for what else.
I agree with you that he is a great fighter, but putting more muscles artificially in gym does not make him competitive in heavyweight division, especially with animal like Ngannou.
My opinion is that even Stipe Miocic or Ciryl Gane could beat Jones in heavyweight fight.

I just made my predictions, but I am not so thrilled about upcoming UFC event and that makes it much harder to make correct predictions.

We will if he gets enough $$$. I've seen fighters come back after breaks, even if they're not in their best form. You have to make money somehow and many will put their record on the line to make more. They know time is running out and the longer they wait the lower the chances of them getting a contract. The fight will rather depend on Ngannou because he had some health problems. It's estimated that he won't in the next 9 months. I feel like in the meantime Jones will get to fight someone else.

You'd think so, I'm not sure how screwed on Jones is outside the ring in terms of saving, and investments, but he doesn't really give off the impression hes got a back up plan. He probably knows he can walk into a UFC contract, and get big money, so probably isn't all that concerned.

You know what, I remember listening to a podcast that Jones was on, and I remember going away from it thinking the media has portrayed him in a different light to what he really is, since he seemed quite a rational guy, who seemed to get into situations, and then handle them  badly at the time, which isn't really is fault in high stress situations. Though, with the domestic abuse claims, and all of that, I wouldn't go as far as to say hes a nice person, although come to think of it I never actually followed the stories enough to know if any of them were legitimate, and not just unproven claims.

I am following some UFC news youtube channels and today interesting video appeared. UFC has contacted Stipe Miocic manager and offered a fight against Jon Jones for a interim heavyweight title. Why interim - because Ngannou will have a surgery soon. Why Miocic - because Gane just had a fight, Miocic is top2 and JJ needs a test fight in heavyweight before having a real title fight against a champ. This might be fake, but the whole scenario looks interesting.

Even though you think it's harder for you to make correct predictions, you can still be the winner, you know, because, firstly, it's not easy to anyone, and secondly, luck plays its part, and no one can be less lucky than others, even if he wants to. Smiley Btw, why are you not that thrilled about the upcoming UFC event? What's wrong with it, in your opinion?

Hermansson is way more powerful than Strickland whichever it may be. From ground to boxing, he'll face it. Remember that its often the underdog that wins.  Grin

I don't know for sure, Based on the previous fights of Hermansson and Strickland I am seeing the potential for Sean Strickland than with Jack Harmansson in winning this, well that is what I think, Strickland is so good with the standing, and has a good takedown defense, even though Jack Hermansson had good wrestling if he can not execute it properly then it will not defeat Sean Strickland,

Well, I am pro in giving big payments to fighters that at risk of getting their life taken out, or lifetime damage to sustain to their body, and actually I have recently posted something here that UFC fighters need a voice to be heard by others, but I think this topic keeps going on and on I am just saying that there a fight that is about to happen and we should move on for now, but don't get me wrong it is a worthy discussion and a healthy one actually, but we can sure minimize it a bit, for some fight prediction, but whatever we can always discuss it here in the thread along with the prediction I think, but yes you are right in this kind of issue and it is not a small issue actually because if a UFC fighter is worthy to get a huge payment then I think Dana White needs to comply.

Phil Hawes withdrawn from the fight.Sam has been fed to Brendan Allen now, which I can't see going any other way than Allen winning. Same as Strickland, although I'll probably put money on that fight going the distance.

I can't see Jones wanting to fight for anything, but the title. Plus, I'm not even sure he would want to fight Stipe. Ngannou or Gane seem the more logical moves  for Jones. Although, I'm not sure if this is a genuine offer or if Dana is trying to put some pressure on Ngannou.

I'm really not sure what to make of it, not sure I want to see Stipe against Jones either.

Well I'm not saying he is a good guy or saint, he just comes across as pretty likeable and level-headed from what I've seen of his interviews, but obviously people can appear to be nice people but are actual sociopaths in reality. Most of his problems seem to stem from alcohol which he admits he's got a problem with so hopefully he's kicked the habit. He needs to get back into the sport though.

That wouldn't be a bad tune-up fight for Jones actually before facing Ngannou. I don't think it would be wise for him to go straight into that with being out of the ring for so long and it being hist first fight in heavyweight. If he blitzes Stipe it'll hype up the Francis fight a bit more as well.

Yeah, I've had similar opinions after watching him talk. Although, I wasn't sure whether he's just good at talking or was telling the genuine truth. I believe it was on a Joe Rogan's podcast that I heard him speak, about the time he either ran a red light or you were allowed to in that state. Well, he hit someone, and basically did a runner. Although, his reasoning seemed somewhat plausible at the time, and although it definitely does sound like a horrible thing to do at the time, people react differently in times of stress, plus I think he either brought up the point or Rogan did that being a black person in the US, and getting into an incident which requires police intervention, he was worried for his life too.

Anyway, he definitely didn't do the right thing on the day, however his reasoning to how he acted checks out.
