He's probably the most suitable for a title shot if Whittaker loses again. Although, like you say, I don't expect his style to be a good idea going against Adesanya which is skills striking at a distance. Strickland would likely need to come in with a different game plan if he were to get a title shot.

I've gone through  a real rough patch before this, so by no means should anyone be looking for tips off of me. Although, it was a pleasant surprise to actually put some results together. Usually, I lose on the first fight on my accumulator which spoils the rest of the night.

I'm going to really try, and get all my predictions on the Friday before the events that are on Saturday. I normally don't do too much of a write up on why I've picked those that I have, just because I don't want to be mistaken for someone who actually knows what they're talking about. However, I might put up some words why in the future, and just put a disclaimer that I'm most of the time an idiot.

Adesanya better not let me down this weekend, so at least you know I'll be going for him. I'll be reviewing some tape on some of the lesser known fighters.

I don't watch the press conferences after the fight as its usually way too late for me here, however does anyone know if the Erosa vs Peterson fight got a bonus? I watched every fight, and I'd like to think that got fight of the night. Peterson was smashing Erosa, and somehow Erosa managed to ride that out keep his chin, and then go on a wild one with all sorts of attacks. There must have been two or more spinning back fists as well as some super man punches.

I have been watching MMA for about 7 years now, did deep dives, looked how fighters train, eat, sleep, what training camps they went to...and still I get at least 70% of the fights wrong XD It's all about the journey, not the destination. I have given up on predicting MMA seriously and if it happens, it happens.

A fan for a long time but the same ending like yours. I cannot get the right predictions so I am starting to try and follow other members here who have broad understanding when it comes to betting. I simply love watching a brawl but never dived into deep analysis. It might be emotions that holds us back from catching the right bet.

Here are a couple of free fights of Adesanya and Whitaker.  Both these guys have been looking really good as of late.  Adesanya got that one loss cos of his stint at 205 tho.  And as I said before the line value could be with Whitaker at 3.35.  I feel like the match could be closer this time around.

What can I say? Although both fighters, Adesanya and Whittaker won by decision, I thinkkwe can make a conclusion that Adesanya is more ready for the upcoming fight on 13th of February. Israel was never looking hurt, even during(and after) the best Marvin's attacks. It was looking like he was just having fun all the time. I think Adesanya's win over Whittaker is almost certain. And yet many people are still betting on Whittaker, making life of those betting on Adesanya easier.

^  I don’t think there lots of action going to Whitaker.  If there was, we’d see line movement going Whitaker’s way and make the odds a little closer.  The lines are still very wide imo.  And the people who are betting on Whitaker are doing it for line value.  There’s a higher chance he could win in a rematch than what the line indicates.  Dunno...  It just feels that way for me.  Lol.  ‘This is not financial advice.’. 

Anyway I think Whitaker has improved a lot since his loss vs Adesanya.  Can’t wait to see him back in there.

I didnt check the odds yet but because underdogs kept winning in the past fights, putting their money on underdogs will be fun. I bet for Hermanson the last time and lost I think that trend is over. If Adesanya can avoid takedown attempts, hell win this weekend. Breaking that underdog trend becauss Izzy can weaken the legs of his opponent by the sound of his round kicks.

Split decision fights is not something I like to watch and you always have some controversy with referees and fights like this, but on paper Sean Strickland won and that is what really counts.
Julian Erosa won against Steven Peterson and he got bonus for performance of the night but he won with split decision, this was the night of split wins including co-main event.

Finally! the UFC event that I have been waiting for could be a great time to start speculating, and the Israel Adesanya VS Robert Whittaker is the real talk of the town and I will not change my pick for that fight, I will be Israel Adesanya all the way, and I have recently seen that a lot of people are expecting an Israel Adesanya upset and for Robert Whittaker to just win with just a change of fighting style, Adesanya has said recently that people are giving so much credit to Whittaker and overvaluing him, and during their first fight his team and he has a game plan for Robert Whittaker, but he doesn't lean to that plan and do a freestyle of his own, and still do well and dominating Robert Whittaker on that fight, I think with what he just said, his team really have a game plan for his fight, and if Robert Whittaker could have a new style or a new move, he could always counter with a game plan, or do a style bender on his own.

One of the judges did not watch the fight correctly or he is a corrupt judge who was paid by someone who had made a big bet on Jack Hermansson hehehe. It should be clearly a unanimous decision for Sean Strickland. The argument would be very similar if it was declared that Keith Thurman was a split decision winner versus Mario Barrios.

I haven't made a bet on for UFC 271 yet. At the moment, I'm thinking a parlay for Lewis and Adesanya in one bookie then maybe ML on Whittaker in another How do you see the duration of the main event? Will it go to the judges score card? Under 4.5 at over 2 looks like an irresistible deal.

Four out of four last night, quite pleased with that. If Izzy can do the business now next weekend, then I would have profited quite a bit there. Total multiplier was something like x56. Knowing my luck, one of my favourite fighters that I am upmost confidence in will get knocked out within the first 20 seconds.

Good luck with the remaining fights. I never won parlay above 3 matches/games in any sports but I hope you get it.

One thing for sure is however it goes this weekend, I'm going to be a nervous wreck leading up to the fight, which should make for an amazing watch. I normally get pre fight jitters when watching my favourite fighters, I've had it with Fury in boxing, Adesanya before, and a bunch of other fighters too which always makes the fights better. However, this time I've got a decent amount of money riding on it, as well as it coming down to whether my favourite fighter in the UFC actually gets it done against probably the only opponent that has a chance against him.

Sweet, although from Peterson's view point, imagine having one of the fights of your career, and it being eligible for a bonus, then he forfeits that bonus by missing weight. You've got to think he'll find that one hard to get over. Although, in the future he probably won't miss weight again. I do believe though he has a track record of missing the weight so who knows.

Let's go, Bobby Knuckles! It's not a secret that I am a fanboy when it comes to Whittaker, but when you put everything on paper, I just see him having to make to many adjustments to his fighting style, and Adesanya not having to make any. And that's where it boils down to. Not saying he couldn't pull it off, but the odds are not in his favor. I wish he would implement more of his wrestling into the gameplan, for christ's sake he actually has some wrestling accolades.  This is the armchair coach talking through me, but less overreaching when he goes into his flurries, more wrestling, and trying to get Adesanya to come to you. Yeah, easier said than done.

If Tuivasa wins against Lewis, I am banking on him to be the next HW champ and drink a shoey when Dana puts a belt around him. There, I said it! Next champ right there

If he wins again, who should he fight next? He will be like Canelo in boxing. He should move either to other division or beat everyone for the second time.

If Tuivasa wins against Lewis, I am banking on him to be the next HW champ and drink a shoey when Dana puts a belt around him. There, I said it! Next champ right there

Tuivasa looks to fat to look like the dangerous man on earth Kidding, there are too many big names in heavyweight who can be champs before Tuivasa could have a title fight. Wasn't Tuivasa that guy who was too heavy for heavyweight division? I hope he makes weight this time.

I just checked the odds on Adesanya to win and they are so low that it makes no sense betting on him to win.
This fight card is really interesting not only because of the main event, but because black beast Derrick Lewis is back and it's always fun watching his fights.

He may not look like he's the dangerous man on earth, but it's the HW division, and if he knocks out two more people he just might be the most dangerous man on earth Regarding him being too heavy for the HW limit, hm, I don't recall him having issues with that, I know Mark Hunt did. As he pointed out, he couldn't stay away from the cheesecake XD

But in all seriousness, hey, it's the HW division, it's so shallow that if Kelvin Gastelum puts on a couple of pounds he's be ranked top 5 amongst the heavyweights XD
