From 131 for 6 at one point and taking the team closer to the target is one hell of an innings and Mohammed Siraj was crucial by picking wickets at crucial times and i really thought Rohit Sharma messed up by giving the last over to Thakur.

Newzealand fought hard till the end and what an innings from Michael Bracewell he tried his best to chase the target but ws alone in this struggle and couldn't make it but a good match played by Newzealand.

The main reason behind New Zealand's loss in today's match is the low performance of their middle order batsmen. Moreover, they could not sustain India's run speed from 20 to 40 overs, which put them under pressure towards the last and eventually they lost their wickets. Although Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner pushed the team towards the last but luck did not help them.

But I was almost certain that after giving such a huge target, India would not lose. Although the pitch was a batting-friendly pitch. Michael Bracewell's 78-ball 140 saw New Zealand score 337 runs but they could not win. Since Indian players have been able to perform so well in the first match, I think India will win this series.

I don’t find any solid reasons now to troll Shardul Thakur lol. I mean yes there were some matches where he choked and for that he was out of the squad, but now yes he is trying his best and finally got the place in the team. If you ask me, I will still choose Umran Malik instead of him, but to be honest Shardul played well in Today’s match. Regarding Gill, he played really impressive knock. For Indians 200 is like a piece of cake. First Ishan, Now Gill. Openers are really enjoying to play long game. I would still prefer left-right combination. Ishan and Rohit can do the job and Gill can fit at Number 4 ?

But then, Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson added crucial runs and they are definitely lower order or even tail end batsmen. I have noticed this ever since I started watching cricket. New Zealand lower order and tail end batsmen contribute significantly to their totals. Back then (during the late 90s), it was Dion Nash and Chris Cairns. The only genuine tail end batsmen to play for New Zealand were Shane Bond, Daryl Tuffey and Chris Martin. The last one was the most genuine tail end batsmen I have ever seen, and he only managed to get to double digits once in his entire test career (batting average of 2.36 from 104 innings).

At one point I had a feeling that India would lose the Indian bowlers were struggling to get Bracewell. Thanks to Thakur he was out at 140. India won by just 12 runs all because of good batting by Bracewell. MD Shiraz had another good spell as he got 4 wickets. He has confirmed his berth in the world cup squad after yesterday's performance where he again took 4 wickets. Overall a good chase by the Newzealand team.

He was the talk of the town when he led the entire team in terms of score. Which may not have been imagined by many others. However, many could not imagine the level New Zealand reached in yesterday's match. When they scored 131 for 5 I almost assumed that they would definitely lose today's match. But could not expect that they will be able to score 337. If there had been one more wicket in that position, the result of the match could have turned. By the pefromance of both of the team in yesterday's match, it seems that it is not possible to predict who is going to win the series. But if India's top order batsmen can do well then India's chance is high in this series.

Yes it is true that India have played very well and it is natural to play well at home. All teams can play a little better in their own field. And no one is ever king just by playing well in their own field. You have wrongly said that India is the king of cricket. When you think about it, New Zealand have never played worse than India. New Zealand cricket team also played very well. The New Zealand cricket team almost reached the target set by India. When Santner departed, they had reached a total of 293/7 in 45.4 overs. So in 17 overs, these two added 162 runs, at a rate of almost 6 runs per over. If Santer had stayed for some more time, then New Zealand would have won the match with a lot of ease. They lost, because after Santner it was the down to the tail and tail-end (Henry Shipley, Lockie Ferguson and Blair Tickner).

I liked what I saw from Gill, because despite losing partners at the other end he continued playing solid cricket and definitely deserved his double century. However I feel that team India should be disappointed with the way they allowed New Zealand to step back in this game, because they could have lost this match and this is a very important lesson for them i.e. they should not take things for granted.

2nd ODI ICC Championship Match started today at Allan Border Field, Brisbane. In this match Australia Women vs Pakistan Women two teams came to the field to play. Pakistan Women batted first and scored 125 runs in 43 overs.  Few runs I think.Pakistan Women performed poorly in the match.Pakistan Women went all out in this match.Now coming to bat Australia Women scored 61 runs in 10 overs.Now they need only 65 runs to win.

So here in this match Australian women team was looking really strong. Poorly Pakistan's women team didn't stand on the pitch and made only 125 runs. But Australian women team chased the target and won the match. Australian team made 129 runs in 19.2 overs and didn't give any wicket to Pakistan. Now Australia won the series and they are leading with 2-0.
