Maybe soon we will know when and what format will be this coming new season, this is the update that we are all waiting for, maybe this week we will see the decision.

Well at least we are seeing the BOD doing some things just to push the season amid the pandemic.
One season at least for the year would be good already but pushing it into 2 seasons would be better although it would cost them more money.

One season, how many conferences is that? If they'll be in the bubble, will they follow the old format where there's an import or this will be just all Filipino conference again?

AFAIK, this upcoming season is just for all Filipinos. Correct me if I'm wrong with that because that's what I've read before about the format. And the second season is the one where there will be the imports to play with every teams.

I mean, like MPBL, it's a popular league next to PBA, and when there's a controversy inside about sports rigging, will sportsbook still list this game?

They might be but if another thing happens, I'm sure that will be the time that they will start to consider removing most of them or those teams that have an ugly history.
And if that time comes for sure many will be disappointed not unless the sportsbooks doesn't care about this kind of anomaly.

They can continue providing it but the question there is are gamblers still willing to place their bets after knowing this kind of act? Most gamblers will move away from this sport as they know that they are risking high since rigging is very possible.

There are lots of other options and since we are discussing here about PBA then it's better to focus with this league instead of

I don't think those who are involve in sports rigging will use their name to bet in a betting site, they probably are just using a dummy, but with this investigation, it might link to their identity if its proven that sports rigging did happen. If this game has a line in crypto sports, then I think it will be hard to investigate and to link the bet to the culprit.

But if they're not responsible saver and they keep on spending with their hard-earned money for useless things and they've been involved in another match-fixing, they will find it hard to cope up with their lifestyles. Hopefully that this won't happen in PBA.

Have you guys knew that Mickey Williams is still not officially a Katropa?

Yes, according to news on social media that Williams wants to be paid equal to his salary in his MPBL days which is Php300K in which many doubted it was true because no MPBL teams is rich enough to pay that kind of amount.

The maximum rookie salary is Php200K and considering you are a rookie i think this is enough and not agreeing to that might give the team an impression that you have a problem attitude because you are deviating to standards.

I read some article regarding that, at least his asking price is justifiable, and since the PBA salary cap is not actually followed, then why TNT can give that to him? It look TNT is the problem here, some of the star players have contract problem, to name players I knew, Ray Parks and Terrence Romeo, what Romeo did was just a success because he got traded to the SMB but Ray Parks was a failure.

Bottom line, it's time for the PBA to upgrade their salary structure if they want to stay at the top.

Yeah i am really disappointed about that and for long time i do believe of each game legitimacy even that there are some issues i have heard yet i ignored them all, but after this? lol i will now prevent from betting in PBA or any Philippine basketball league for a while until the issues not been resolved.

Then it's like saying you will never bet for good now as that issue won't be solved and there will be many cases of that in the future . Kidding aside, it's something that can be solved as even in a much bigger league outside the country, it happens.

"Rookie" - there's no exception and all have to follow the max salary allowed for the rookie.

I don't see any problem with that if he will get the max offer for a rookie. Not all are qualified to that. And being a rookie is just one season. If he improves, then he can demand an increase or by any chance, it can be granted automatically once TNT sees his performance. The season hasn't started at all and yet a rookie is asking already for an increase. He is good, no doubt about that, but playing in a PBA environment isn't a joke even he is standing out in US NCAA.

Bottom line, it's time for the PBA to upgrade their salary structure if they want to stay at the top.

Looks like salary now has become an issue in the PBA, especially from these Phil AM players who are in demand and could play in other leagues that could give a competitive salary, maybe they just have to remain humble, besides it's just temporary of being a rookie, just like getting into the job, we started as probationary and we don't receive a big salary, but once we pass that period, we will be regularize and might be promoted as well, so that's the time where we can achieve a good salary.

If ever he would show his real worth in the coming season, there is no debate that he would get want he want, salary-wise. Prove your worth first before asking because there are too many guards nowadays in the PBA that are as talented as everybody.

When I saw this article coming from the PBA, I felt that it is needed in order for the league to stay.
With this pandemic, all of the revenues of the PBA are reduced and because of the reduced exposure because of the league just having one conference (Filipino Cup) last year and with lack of audiences their revenue really hit that hard.

If you are a player, coach or a personnel, I think this would be better than having problems in the future regarding salaries. After all, this must be done for the league to stay since they got no revenues at all except from the team and some advertisements too. Kinda unexpected on my part too but highly needed.

Players has no choice, they either accept the cut of will allow the PBA to sink and it will be dissolve in the long run. They have to be practical, no one would cut their salary if the league is making enough money to pay them.

THE PBA is still pursuing a two-conference format for the 2021 season, although that could change if its players still are yet to be inoculated by June.

PBA vice chairman Bobby Rosales said the league is still planning to hold an all-Filipino and import-laced conference this year despite the delays in the opening of the season that was supposed to launch last Sunday, April 18.

Rosales admitted all members of the PBA family must be vaccinated as soon as possible in order to be able to preserve the original plan to have two conferences.

“As you’ve read in the papers, ‘yung mga vaccines, they are scheduled to arrive starting May. If they will arrive in May, that’s the earliest we can get the PBA family vaccinated. It will take a month before the dosage can become effective. You are looking really at June as the earliest," he said.

Hopefully the plans will push through, vaccine was emphasized that it's really necessary to ensure that family of the players gets the vaccine also so the PBA plan will not be ruined, you know, when one of the family member of the PBA player get's infected, it will have a big effect.
