James Yap is 39 years old, there are older players than him that are still active in the PBA, and he did not give a hint that he will retire, maybe he is still enjoying, and I what I can see, he is still fit and could deliver.
We have Caguioa, Hugnatan, and Raffy who are still active, they are already in their 40s.
What I've heard about Caguioa is that he's free to continue as the management said and he's the one to decide whether he's going to be out of the league already. That's the best incentive that was give to him because AFAIK, there's one guy, maybe that was LA who told him that he's going to be like one of the kind who have retired by just having one team entirely with his whole PBA career. And that's why he's just passing some of the years that's still on him before he retires.

Caguioa is the "Magic Bunot" of coach Tim Cone, when he plays, he bring some energy on the floor as the fans will be cheering for him, I saw some games when Ginebra was down big time, but he comes in, he can help to Trim down the lead and they are back in the game. He maybe not gonna play more minutes but his veteran experience is very vital to the team, the reason why he has this kind of perks that other veterans don't have. He is "mark the spark", that's why he gives some spark when he is on the floor.

And despite he's no longer the same as during his prime, there's still the click that he gives to the team especially during crucial times. He's one of the most known PBA player that really has a huge following in the entire league and I remember it when I was also younger, the fans are all on him and his team as well. The perk is definitely deserving for him because he's stayed to the team and the team won't even like to release him. There's the magic that makes the team lively and also having the huge crowd and fan base.

He deserve all those acknowledgements and all the privilege that he's getting from the franchise, they've seen his worth and they've value his contributions. Even it's not that much anymore but listening to the fans, that's something the team always think and wisely reacts.

I haven't watched live but that's always happening and what I've observed when they're having a match even if it's not the championships or playoffs. He's really clicking the crowd and fans and with his tandem JJ Helterbrand. Don't forget about his partner guys, I don't know where JJ is right now. Is he on the MPBL? if he's which team he's part of?

If we will see James Yap playing this bubble which is I think that he will then we might see this year as his final year of playing. His contributions to the team are very low right now. Its quite hard to say this but I think that he might need to give his slot too to other young players like others did as well. I don't know how many years he will be playing base on his contract but if this year will be the last then he might retire after this conference. Bubble games really is hard because you will not see your family personally for months. That is one of the reasons too why some of the older players retired this year already aside from the fact that they can't contribute that much anymore. Since we aren't seeing any signs of him retiring this year, he might be useful in the ROS as his experience might help these young players and possible that he might mentor some new players too that will come in the team. Its quite happy to see that even though their ages are 40, they can still play and run in the court like they are in their young 30's . Maybe they are inspired of what Taulava did where he is still playing even though he is 47 years old although he retired already.

But I think Caguioa I think he will retire soon he doesn't have any to prove and he's prime is already over.

If he would retire he should have retired before, no, Caguioa is still enjoying, he maybe wants to make some history and to be a hall of famer in the PBA, and the good thing is the team is allowing him to stay. Some veterans only retired because they know they are not used anymore in the team, they are just hired out of respect, but for Caguioa, I think the case is different.

The team still wants his service they continue to see the worth out from him, Mark "the Spark" Caguioa still brings energy around his teammates, with his fighting mindset even he's no longer playing the same level as before, His presence is enough to boost the team up, and look when the coach brings him in the reactions of the crowd simply tells it up why he's still inside the team.

Actually, there are more players that are older than him that are given heavy minutes. They are Reynel Hugnatan of the Meralco Boltz and Rafi Reavis of the Magnolia hotspots. Rafi Reavis -43 years old Reynel Hugnatan - 42 years Mark Caguioa is only 41 years old, he is not the oldest active PBA player now.

Yeah, Both the two old you mention was more physically fit than Caguioa. Hugnatan and Reavis gameplay in the court is more on physical defense than offense while Caguioa is more on offense that's why he play shorter time compared to the other two old player. I believe playing shorter is also Caguiao decision due to his play style is not anymore synchronize to his body strength. His presence is the only reason why is still effective for his team.

Yeah, Both the two old you mention was more physically fit than Caguioa.
Indeed, Both Centers and still doing good with their respective teams even at this age. Hugnatan and Reavis gameplay in the court is more on physical defense than offense while Caguioa is more on offense that's why he play shorter time compared to the other two old player.
Yeah right, both big men still contributing with the team defense and not focus in their offense, while Caguioa, his position is more for young players who really have the speed that once he have when he still on his prime. I believe playing shorter is also Caguiao decision due to his play style is not anymore synchronize to his body strength.
He's giving it to much younger player and coach tim knew that, even he loves to play but he knew his body is no longer synch with his capabilities. His presence is the only reason why is still effective for his team.
More on mental contributions and the team loves him there sharing the spirit of Never say Die bloodlines.

Thirdy on future plans: 'Never mawawala PBA para sa akin'
HE PBA will eventually come.
Despite signing a new contract with the San-en NeoPhoenix in the Japan B. League, Thirdy Ravena sees himself eventually playing in Asia’s pioneering pro league.
For someone whose family has long been involved in the country’s top sports entertainment, Thirdy sees the PBA becoming part of his career later on.
“Definitely, never namang mawawala yung PBA para sa akin,” said the young Ravena, who arrived in the country last Friday.
“I don’t think my career would be fulfilling if I don’t play in the PBA.” If Thirdy Ravena will get drafted in the PBA, which team do you think will fit him? And, how about this performance individually, which is better, his older brother or him?

I think Thirdy Ravena is better, he is more athletic than his brother, but overall they are good that's why they are stars of their team back in college. Hopefully, Thirdy would be able to play in the PBA, his experience abroad might really help him in the PBA.

I believe we have a lot of gamblers in the forum who loves Philippines Basketball particularly PBA, that's why I'm bringing this outside the local.
Let's discuss the current events, news, and the games here. You may also share you bets here if you want to help fellow gamblers to win or ask some opinion from our fellow gamblers here.
The PBA has a short conference only but they also have short break, so if we are betting often in this games, we can easily familiarize the teams since there are only few teams compared to the NBA.
Hopefully we can make a good and helpful discussion in this thread.
In my own observation in PBA, every time GSM will go in the finals a lot of people and arena are always fully occupied and the majority of the fans are happy to watch because of the GSM players. Moreover, there are a lot of gambling form that has been made through with this games in the field of basketball whether online or not.

GSM is still good as they won in the bubble although there are no fans, and they can still do that in the coming bubble as they have improve their line up by acquiring C. Stand. By the way, Tenorio had already joined the practice, this is a good news. https://pba.ph/news/tenorio-finally-on-board-for-ginebra

For me, it's hard to tell who's better as they play different position. Kiefer plays point-guard while Thirdy is more of a 2-3 player. Both of them have not yet lead a team to a championship so i can say that both of them are raw but with Thirdy playing as an import in Japan, i think he has the advantage on experience as he is more exposed on a different types of play and have guarded players which were more talented than PBA players.

I agree with you, at a young age, Thirdy chooses to explore his chances abroad and a team would not make him an import if he does not have an exceptional talent. However, we can't compare until he played in the PBA, just like the Ball Brothers.

Bigger offer while this pandemic hitting the country, Thirdy explore and create he's own name abroad while Kiefer is creating his own one here in our country, They've got different position so it's hard to tell who's better among the two, and like what you have said lets wait till he played inside PBA and see what he got after playing outside. It's good having him playing alongside with Kiefer I wanna see if there's chemistry among them as brothers.

I think Thirdy Ravena is better, he is more athletic than his brother, but overall they are good that's why they are stars of their team back in college. Hopefully, Thirdy would be able to play in the PBA, his experience abroad might really help him in the PBA.
Yeah, they've been popular back in their collegiate leagues and that's why it became easy for them to improve and play for another league. Thirdy got an offer abroad with San-En in Japan and that's not really rare at all because there were probably offers for some of the other players but it wasn't documented and broadcasted. But it was a good run for him IMHO, such opportunities shouldn't be missed. And on the other news, Kai Sotto is back again in our country. He's about to play for Gilas but some news that I've read says that it is unsure participation for him. But good for him that he trained with his mates back then so the adjustment wouldn't be hard for him. This kid is busy on his career and he's just flying from and to.
