Man City 3-2 Aston Villa
They were losing 0-2 before mounting a massive comeback to win 3-2. A loss or a draw would have made Liverpool champions but Manchester City are champions.
What an exciting game!!! A match full of surprises, I witnessed the greatest substitution in the league and the greatest last day title decider match, this was more than we had years ago against QPR, Manchester City were done 2-0 until 70mins, while Liverpool were already playing 1-1 at the other end and all attention was drawn to the Liverpool game, everyone gave up on the Manchester City game and boom!!! 3-2 I was overjoyed, I'd never celebrated a rival club's win so much in the past, I was very happy for Manchester City, they deserved it more than anyone else. Liverpool would need another Pandemic to be able to win the EPL title again

Tottenham clinch 4th place and qualify for champions league with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea
The four best clubs with the best managers qualified for the championship league; they all deserved to be there. Conte did an excellent job guiding Tottenham from the Conference League to the Champions League in a short period of time.

Arsenal and Manchester United will play in the Europa League
Well deserved, their player quality is not good enough for the champions league positions.

Burnley are relegated alongside Norwich and Watford
Burnley missed up!!!

@JollyGood I expected you to leave your predictions before the season started, but since you have not left yours I’m leaving mine. I’m expecting Manchester City to start strong because of Halland, and Liverpool will drop few points as Mane’s absence is bound to hurt them, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Tottenham gave some serious competition to these two sides, and lastly if anyone else wants to make early predictions please do so.

So Bournemouth, Fulham, Nottingham Forest are the 3 promoted teams for the 2022/2023 season?
I'm not sure about these 3 teams next season and it's my heavy guess that they won't have long in the Premier League because the other teams are much more competitive in my opinion. Even though the polls are not open at the moment but I still strongly believe Manchester City and Liverpool will be at the forefront of the title race again. I will consider Manchester United, and Chelsea getting into the top 4 later. But this is just a good start for speculation because we have to really see how they perform.

But Manchester United has shown no sign of getting new players and some of the players including Cristiano Ronaldo are becoming frustrated. There are indications that the Portuguese footballer might consider leaving the club. The fans are not equally happy, they are even protesting that the Glazers should sell the club to a serious buyer. The club maintained that they are studying their current squad and analyzing the transfer market.

I wouldn't be prepared to make any predictions yet, as there is no doubt a lot of transfer movement still to happen this summer. Of course we expect Man City and Liverpool to be fighting for the title, and the newly-promoted teams to face a struggle to stay in the division, but other than that it's quite difficult. I mean, Man U for example, who knows who they'll end up signing or how their team might perform? As Zlantann noted above, there is a lot of uncertainty around them at present.

Yes, you are right and this is not the right time to predict anything because the 2022/2023 season has not started yet. Many player transfer deals will happen in the near future and so far Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and several other teams are focused on getting new players. Several big transfers have taken place where Manchester City and Liverpool have both managed to land the players they coveted.

Frenkie de Jong continues to be rumored to be leaving Barcelona to reunite with his former coach at Manchester United. I think the deal is not finalized but there is still a possibility that Ten Hag will bring the former Ajax man to Manchester United with him.

Even though Liverpool will give Man City a tough challenge, the Premier League leader remains Man City after the new addition of Halland. That's not surprising at all. I'm sorry, but sometimes too much expectation from one individual player is not a good sign. Mane left Liverpool, but a few young talent have joined. Let's keep a positive attitude even if there are some issues with understanding. Would it be possible to see Man United resurrect. With so many great talent and better action coming into play in the 22-23 Premier League, we can hope that things will be tough for the team.

Time to update this thread for the 2022/23 season  Grin

@JollyGood I expected you to leave your predictions before the season started, but since you have not left yours I’m leaving mine.
It is too early to predict the league outcome while the transfer market is still open; we can't really tell the strength of each team until they have completed their recruitment; I will drop my prediction after pre-season. But I don't expect much to change.

Liverpool and Manchester City are reinforcing their teams with new signings and Chelsea seems very serious with new signings.
Chelsea has yet to sign anyone, Todd Boehly is currently busy with internal restructuring, the former chair Buck Bruce and Director Marina contract were terminated a few days ago, while the position of director of football remains vacant, Todd Boehly will act as chairman and director of football for the time being, and we anticipate incoming and outgoing transfers, so I expect some movement next week.

Quote
But Manchester United has shown no sign of getting new players and some of the players including Cristiano Ronaldo are becoming frustrated. There are indications that the Portuguese footballer might consider leaving the club. The fans are not equally happy, they are even protesting that the Glazers should sell the club to a serious buyer. The club maintained that they are studying their current squad and analyzing the transfer market.
While competing in the Europa League, it is always difficult to recruit good players, and they are also looking for a new director of football. Ronaldo is fully committed.

I have been extremely busy trying to do several things at the same time therefore have been unable to post as much. I do take a look when I can in order to clean the thread from low quality posts and spammers but yes by now I should have given my opinions about the potential champions, runners up, the champions league qualification places and the relegation candidates  Grin

It is hard to see beyond Manchester City winning the title again. I think that would give them a hat-trick which would be a commendable feat because the only team to win 3 premier league titles since it was created in the early 1990s) consecutively are Manchester United.

The first three champions league positions will probably be with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea. I think Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United will chase the fourth and final spot.

As for relegation, the three promoted teams are probably prime candidates to go back down to the championship.

So Bournemouth, Fulham, Nottingham Forest are the 3 promoted teams for the 2022/2023 season?
They were the promoted teams therefore congratulations are in order to them but I think they will find it very hard to avoid relegation. On form alone, Forest went from bottom to promotion in the same season after their new manager came in and instilled a winning mentality in the team. I think they have a much better chance of avoiding immediate relegation that Fulham and Bournemouth.

Even though the polls are not open at the moment but I still strongly believe Manchester City and Liverpool will be at the forefront of the title race again. I will consider Manchester United, and Chelsea getting into the top 4 later. But this is just a good start for speculation because we have to really see how they perform.

Man city, liverpool, chelsea, the three teams with the most potential to finish in the top 4 of the EPL next season. But for Manchester United I have a litt doubt, I feel Tottenham have a chance to finish in the top 4 again. Yes, this is just my opinion if look at the seriousness of the 4 teams making changes in the transfer market this season. Can ten Hag solve my doubts and get rid of between chelsea and tottenham in position?

Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea might still be the dominating teams this season. Maybe Tottenham Hotspur would also compete with these three teams. Liverpool and Manchester City are reinforcing their teams with new signings and Chelsea seems very serious with new signings.

My line of prediction for the next English premier league Champions goes this way.

1•Manchester city

2•Liverpool and

3•Chelsea.

I don't see any changes coming in with regards to Manchester city also not being the next champion,  the club , coach, and team is currently stable.
Too looking at the premier league match fixtures first 1-10 matches it already favouring City to climb the table when compared to Liverpool and Chelsea first 1-10 matches though that does not determine who wins the league but has little advantage for a strong team like Manchester city and Liverpool.
I would have chosen Chelsea but the recent change of ownership would be a big challenge for them and I don't see imminent stability in the club anytime soon until next year.

Although actually I know that these three teams have a chance to avoid relegation at the end of next season, but I don't believe in them yet. But who knows, I don't watch a team like that play much and I'll have to see it later before I can judge properly. Maybe it would be cool if this team was bought by a rich man, it would be a good team to play in the English top league.

Man city, liverpool, chelsea, the three teams with the most potential to finish in the top 4 of the EPL next season. I have heard quite a lot of opinions about Manchester City and Liverpool and Chelsea which will probably still be dominant next season. Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal will fight for one place, that is the most interesting. Doubts about Ten Hag, it's natural because I haven't seen him as a successful coach in England.

In addition to the fact that City managed to acquire Haaland, Jesus and Sterling want to leave the team, also Bernardo Silva wanted to go to Barcelona, if this happens then City will need to fill these positions with someone, City have a lot of good players, but the departure of such players is definitely can affect the team. And also need to see how quickly Haaland can fit into the team and start scoring.

The 2022/2023 season will be challenging for Fulham, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest, these three teams just joined this season after strong performances in  Championship. All teams are emphasizing this transfer window in order to build a strong team. Many signings have already occurred, with joining the league. The Premier League, as usual, will be an exciting and competitive league.

Fulham were regularly at the bottom of the league table... Bournemouth also look like outsiders... Nottingham Forrest last played in the Premier League 23 years ago... So I agree that this season will be very difficult for these teams... Probably only Fulham will stay to play next season and the other two will go back to the Championship...

I still have doubts about Manchester United for next season in the EPL, many predict that Manchester United will fail miserably with their new manager, Erik ten Hag. The reason is, Manchester United has lost several top players such as Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, and Jesse Lingard.
and it is reported that until now Manchester United has not got a new player, it looks like Manchester United will be a topic that will continue to be discussed next season.

I believe Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest will avoid relegation. Both teams were excellent last season, and if they can add some more experienced players to their young stars, they will do well. Unfortunately, Bournemouth were unable to retain some of their best players after being relegated; Joshua King, Ryan Fraser, Callum Wilson, David Brooks, and N. Aker have all left the squad.

and it is reported that until now Manchester United has not got a new player, it looks like Manchester United will be a topic that will continue to be discussed next season.
I can confirmed the report that yes! They are yet to make any official move, no official bid to any player, only talks and speculations.

It could happen this way and it could happen another way, its the Premier league we are talking and we all know how dramatic it can be. All team are getting prepared for the season ahead and they will give it their best especially at the beginning of the season. Man city first 10 fixtures could give them a head start but they will have to give it their all. If Chelsea can strengthen their squad they can finish the season ahead of their previous position last season.

Finishing above their previous position means finishing second to either of the league's two strongest teams (Manchester City or  Liverpool). There is a chance they will contest for the league, but it all depends on their transfer activities; they need to bring in some attacking midfielders, attackers, and defenders to fill the gap left by the outgone players. Manchester City and Liverpool have already surpassed the other top clubs in the current transfer window. Based on their secured deals thus far, both clubs are likely to fight another two-horse race.

When you read the reports about Lukaku being loaned back to Inter Milan for a cheap £6.9m (that could rise to a total of £10.3m on bonuses) and that is 11 months after selling him to Chelsea for a massive £97.5m. Lukaku seems fit in well the way Inter play and they suit each other.

You can feel sorry for Lukaku as much as you can say he deserves it because Tuchel obviously did not rate him after he failed to impress and used him sparingly throughout the season and he made a huge mistake saying he wanted to return to Italy when he just signed for Chelsea and said he was unhappy.

It seems sad it all fell apart from him but Lukaku is 29 years old now and I think his final big money has already happened and he is not going to receive any huge offers now. He will be a Chelsea player again when the loan term ends at the end of the 2023 season but maybe Inter will buy him back for a cut price deal.

Lukaku was desperate to return to Inter Milan he took a big pay cut too. He was earning £10 million at Chelsea but Inter Milan will now pick up his wages at £7 million a year. He took a 30% reduction in pay to make the move happen.

SKYSPORTS have the report behind the move.

The news is not exactly breaking as it was a few days old but I have been posting sparingly the past days and could not update here. Keep your posts coming in about who has been sold, signed and loaned  Grin
