I'm part of the Monero core team as well as the lead developer for AEON. The current AEON roadmap involves rebasing on Monero's upcoming release. I'm currently working with the rest of the Monero team to finalize the new release. After that, work will commence on the AEON rebase. This is not very far in the future, although I certainly understand that people would prefer that everything be done yesterday.

It is still premature to plan a launch in near term but I am now interested in Aeon in addition to Monero and registered both aeonforcash and localaeon

And to clarify my role in the project, i help as much as i can at the lower level tasks (windows binary, pool software, miner, support, etc...). my motivation is to free up time for smooth. So he can concentrate on crucial tasks.
i'm not a c++ developer, my skills in this domain are not enough strong to be efficient. i do not take part in writing source code. don't expect me to communicate on the roadmap or eta although i'm pleased to help aeon users.

i started to update wolf-aeon-miner with latest commits from wolf-xmr-miner.
i renamed the branch to "improvements_from_xmr"
Code:
git clone https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner.git your_folder
cd your_folder
git checkout improvements_from_xmr
make

the hashrate seems similar to former version but you can now enjoy cpu mining besides gpu mining, thanks to hyc!
Quote
.... hyc's additions (Linux only):
Use a GPU index of -1 to run on the CPU. The only other config item needed is "threads",
but rawIntensity and worksize must still be set to a non-zero value.
you need to update your .conf file to cpu+gpu mine
Code:
{
"Algorithms":
[
{
"name": "AEON",
"devices":
[
{
"index": 0,
"corefreq": 975,
"memfreq": 1450,
"fanspeed": 65,
"powertune": 20,
"threads": 1,
"rawintensity": 1424,
"worksize": 16
},
{
"index": -1,
"threads": 2,
"rawintensity": 16,
"worksize": 16
}
],
"pools":
[
{
"url": "stratum+tcp://54.153.36.187:7777",
"user": "WmsSWgtT1JPg5e3cK41hKXSHVpKW7e47bjgiKmWZkYrhSS5LhRemNyqayaSBtAQ6517eo5PtH9wxHVmM78JDZSUu2W8PqRiNs.20000",
"pass": "x"
}
]
}
]
}

[edit] no windows binary for now, my usual toolchain don't work and no time to investigate today. sorry.
win64 binary available : https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner/releases (Mining directly against daemon is not functional)

wolf-aeon-miner (branch "improvements_from_xmr") is now up to date on my repo with latest commits from wolf-xmr-miner

i don't known if latest commits solve the rx480 problem. if someone can test on linux.
i'll build win64 binary after upgrading windows amd driver to 16.9.1 (this evening or tomorrow)
gpu hashrate seems similar but cpu give you a better total hashrate

Yeah Im getting rejected shares as well. Reverted back to - aeon_gpu_miner_1f45234 - Still get the odd reject.

AMD R7 370 - Getting up to 1.1 KHS on aeon_gpu_miner_1f45234

On the new release I have been playing with it and I'm maxed at 980 HS. Which is fine, if stabilizes and accepts the shares. 15.12 drivers.
